Really friendly staff, particular Curtis who was really knowledgeable about the menu and options available.

Chain pubs are what you expect, Marston is better than your Green King. Clean, not too busy, nice outdoor area. Dogs allowed in most areas.

Just called in for a beer,whilst I was in the pub people think it's OK to use the fire door to go out for a smoke with the door wide open and all the smoke blowing straight back into the bar area. Not happy, if I had have been eating I would have had to leave it has the smell off cigarette smoke would have put me off.NOT HAPPY

Lovely warm welcome from Curtis & Alex today, the pub has a cozy atmosphere. Food was absolutely amazing and hot! Especially the desserts. Highly recommend to come here for food and drink. *****

Very helpful friendly staff. I asked for a starter with chips as a main and was told it wouldn't be a problem. Lovely surroundings and atmosphere. Very tasty quality food. Just could have done with a few more chips in the portion.

I need to compliment Curtis on his excellent knowledge of my dairy free requirements and the chef Alison on preparing me an excellent dairy free lunch. Curtis was courteous and friendly and went that extra mile. Well done to the team. If I had a slight grouse it would be that it was just over £7 for glass of wine which I thought was excessive. However I can choose not to order wine again because the meal catered for my needs which I have found does not always happen in other restaurants I have visited so well done Bluebell.

Nice building, friendly staff, no complaints for either of them. Unfortunately my lemonade glass had lipstick around the rim and something brown stuck inside the bottom. Also, there are two toilets in the gents, despite only just opening for the day, one was dirty and the other would not lock.

Very clean and welcoming. We came with the dog and booked a table in the dog friendly area. I normally expect a dingy table at the back of a pub somewhere but the dog friendly area was at the front so you don't have to walk past other guests eating. Was a very pleasant clean area too so we enjoyed our meal and felt welcome.

For our first ever visit as a party of 6 and a dog, you were very accommodating. I reserved a table online but forgot to mention I had a dog also so the really helpful man behind the bar changed some tables round for us so we could sit together where dogs can be. The service was fast and not intrusive like some places can be. Our food was amazing, good portions, tasty. Our nachos sharer was spot on too! This is always a go to for me everywhere I go and there aren’t many places I rate so highly because they just don’t put enough on or the tortilla chips are tasteless. My dog really appreciated the little treats you have and the bowl of water. Cannot wait to come back again. Next time itll be just me and my husband as we would like to eat then stay on for drinks as we don’t live far. We have a new favourite local! Thankyou. Katie W

Took the family for some lunch, only to be very disappointed with what we recieved the tuna baguette was lacking in filling, the chicken club sandwich was 3 pieces of warm bread with a chicken breast plonked in the middle with some scabby mixed leaves and a couple of bits of streaky bacon, the fish and chips was as bad the fish was curly, over cooked and dry. No one came to see if it was ok won't be going back sadly 😔

Came into the pub tonight, lovely greeting and always served with a smile. We had gammon and fish and chips both were stunning, thanks to all the staff on shift that came to say hi to us both and made us feel welcomed. Thanks Curtis and the team.

Super delicious food, excellent service

Had burgers at The Bluebell on a Friday and then went back on Sunday for a roast dinner, now that we knew how good the food was! Delicious meals both times, great atmosphere, and what impressed us most was the service. The table was clean, sauces stocked, we used the QR code and food came quickly, and every single interaction was friendly, positive and helpful. Particular thanks to Curtis, and hats off to all the staff for creating such a warm and welcoming pub!

Not so good today .along wait .wife wasted her .to many cut back .didn't enjoy it at all ..bar staff couldn't apologise enough and offered a refund. If we don't tell the truth it won't get any better

We visited for my son's birthday. The food was lovely & piping hot. Dave served us at the bar & was very polite and helpful. We also took advantage of the 30% off meals special offer so overall a fantastic experience

Great welcome as soon as I walked in, all staff were very helpful and knowledgeable, food was excellent, Alex came over to me and asked if all was okay, caring attitude from all the staff, he was setting a vey good example to all the staff. Everywhere was clean and tidy Not my first visit, thought it deserved a decent review

Just popped in with wifey for a late tea and a quick drink. Served by Alex who was very friendly and helpful. Time was short so we only picked the burgers, which were very tasty and well presented, and served promptly. The 'chips' were skinny french fries, which was a bit disappointing. Pub was quite busy for a Monday evening though with a decent vibe.

The staff were very nice but it took ages to be seated even though we had a reservation. The food took a long time to arrive and was definitely not worth the wait. The portion sizes were small and everything seemed to be of low quality and possibly microwaved. Most of the chips were burned and dry, the meat and pies tasted like cardboard and nobody on the table, even with the small portions, finished their plates due to the lack of quality. The prices too were very expensive for what you actually received. First time visit and definitely will not be returning.

We like to come to the Bluebell because it is always clean and the staff are friendly and professional. It is a busy pub but we don't mind and the roast dinners are really tasty

Always a pleasure coming to visit. Staff are incredible and very friendly. Harley and Kayleigh have done a superb job with the pub and have made it such a lovely place to come and visit whether that be for food or drink. Highly recommend.

Came up here December 2023 on my partner and I's way back from Newcastle. Both our meals were really good and we were really happy with the service, Harley and Kayleigh have really done a good job with this place since they joined last year so I'd highly recommend going if you haven't been already, the food and service is fab.

Fab place, love taking the kids for a run around outside. They love the lolly machine! Everyone is very welcoming especially Alex who is so polite and has a chat with the kids etc!

Always a pleasure coming to the bluebell for a meal. We had a lasagne and hunters chicken. Both presented well, hot and tasty. Side of onion rings always goes down well. We were served by Curtis who was professional and friendly. 10 out of 10 to the whole team!! Thank-you 😋

Went for a birthday meal. There were 8 in the party, 5 ordered from the general menu and 3 had Sunday lunch. The 5 meals were nice but the Sunday lunches were barely warm which for the price of around £15 was really unacceptable. The meals had taken 45 mins to come so we didn’t feel we had time to send them back as we had to leave by a certain time. I told the man a the bar but he just said I’ll tell the kitchen and charged me for all Meals. It’s really a shame with it being a birthday meal. I would appreciate a reply thank you

Slow service but mainly happy and polite staff. Manager dealt with us respectfully and timely but wasn’t left satisfied and overall there was no feel that they had done anything wrong and mistakes were down to the customers. I simple sorry would have been lovely. A main was chicken thigh but not advertised as this, strange to us but fine, we know for next time. Ask what cut of meat is in every meal I guess? The table behind us sent a wrong order back and when it was returned it was wrong again. The customers were very kind and the manager couldn’t quite bring himself to apologise. These poor people ate in instalments. When out dessert can me the staff member blankly plonked it down and walked away… a smile, a greeting would have been lovely. It wasn’t Fawlty Towers but basics like this annoy me and I can only afford to eat out one a pay day so pretty disappointed. Drinks were yummy, my food was cracking - the gammon and eggs was spot on. I liked the online table booking and the discount on the mains but the online menu doesn’t match to the bar menu.

Our reservation was for 2pm by which time the kitchen had run out of beef and turkey ! Not good when you have gone for a Sunday roast ! We picked alternative dishes whichever were served 65 minutes after ordering . The food served was less than average at best, dry steak and frozen peas

Its about 4 years since we last went to the Blue Bell at Wath for a large family gathering. With another coming up soon, we weren't sure whether to go there again as we'd heard it wasn't as good as before. Long story short - it's definitely as good as before. The food was excellent, the staff very pleasant and helpful and the place was pleasantly busy. All that and currently 30% of main course dishes. What's not to love. We're really looking forward to returning with our larger group in March Thanks Alex and Kayleigh!

Came for Sunday dinner and have mixed feelings. The mash, roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding was lovely and we got plenty of meat however, the veg was raw (not even crunchy but raw) and the gravy was like water. Plenty of parking and dog friendly which is great!

I came down for food yesterday and was very happy with the service that I received. My server Kerry made sure that I was well looked after and was more than happy to go the extra mile for me. I’ll certainly will be returning

I ordered fish and chips, scampi and chips and a bottle of wine, paid for them ,then was told no fish, no scampi. Re ordered gammon, then I picked chilli chicken flatbread. To my sorrow no flatbread either, and to top it all , not one of( I'm so sorry about this). Needless to say I won't be back , was very disappointed. I work in the food service so very disappointed especially as no one could even say I'm so sorry about this.

First of all the app wasn't working so we had to order at the bar. No biggie. However they didn't have sirloin so I had to order rump, I was offered a discount because they didn't have what I wanted. I paid them a tip so they got half of what they'd discounted me back. I asked for mine medium and my friend asked for rare. His was blue and mine was rare. I was expecting chips but got fries, which were very hard like they'd been left or refried. I wish they'd told me because I wouldn't have had them. The server offered to fetch me a bowl of chips but returned empty handed as they didn't have any! She was amazing and she tried her best. I asked if i could get more peppercorn sauce ( to soften the fries at least) but was told I would have to pay extra. I declined but shortly afterwards our server returned with some for me. Even though the server was brilliant I won't be returning.

Really not great. Small portions with no real option to make bigger other than extra chips which weren't nice. Very little options on the menu in general then we found another triangle Stan up menu with a few other options but we had already ordered. Cheese bites where a very small portion for the price and the chicken roast dinner was the worst I've ever had. Watery tasteless gravy. Seasonal vegetables but didn't state there were red cabbage on it and it was vile. Tasteless and the chicken was dry and didn't taste great. Lacked seasoning all around and when I put salt and pepper on the pepper was horrible too, smelt like cat wee! We can't usually afford to eat out and we saved up for this and it was a huge disappointment. Last time we came it was great, expensive but decent portions and tasty. I dont want to come again as it was a huge waste of money this time. Just to add the table at the side of us had similar complaints too about the roast beef dinner.

Just had a lovely family evening meal at The Bluebell a lovely welcome from Alex and Heidi Nothing was too much trouble they even managed to find some candles to put on our daughter's dessert as it is her birthday The food was delicious and cooked perfectly We will definitely be visiting again soon
