Perfect for our purpose and I found the staff to be very friendly. Stayed at least 3 hours and didn’t experience any anti social behaviour! Must be new staff since the last review 🤔

Dirty tables, gangs of local kids using the toilets as a public lavatory, noisy badly behaved ADHD kids with irresponsible parents letting them run amok, the door perpetually open letting in freezing wind, and the really bad part, the surly ungrateful staff who radiate an intense hatred of customers.

Me my partner and our daughter visited costa in glossop today, staff got our order wrong, when asked why an item was missing from the order the member of staff was rude and blamed us for not ordering it! Strange how the item we didn't order was listed on the receipt? Judging from other reviews I've read costa need a staff change at this costa

Probably the grubbiest Costa I’ve been in. Needs a thorough clean, and someone needs to be a lot more efficient clearing the tables.

My favorite. Lovely little Costa above the Next retail shop. Fast and efficient. Staff are friendly and attentive and the tables are all clean and tidy.

It takes FOREVER to get served no matter when you go in. Just waited 10 minutes and only 1 person actually received their 3 coffees.

Popped in for a couple of drinks only. There was one only person in front of us but it still took over 10 minutes to wait for our drinks! Needs better service.

I used to enjoy a sit down and coffee here. I used to bring my baby son first thing and it was a nice, relaxing place. The staff were alway nice too. Since the refurb it feels cold. It's all hard floor, greys and browns. It doesn't feel welcoming at all I'm sad to say. I don't think I'll go in again. There are plenty of other options in Glossop.

Agree that service worse since the refurbishment and it wasn’t too good before! The staff are not able to turn around orders fast enough resulting in queuing, especially on Saturdays. The staff are lovely but the service is chaotic if they have more than 2 or 3 customers in. Many friends no longer visit as can’t afford to wait around so long so please sort it out! Also, more tables needed as the side stools don’t fit the customer demographic in this area and people want to sit at tables please!

Since the refurbishment the service has gone awol 20-30 mins wait for a coffee with people rightly so giving up and asking for refunds Come on costa sort it out

20 mins wait between ordering coffee and getting it! Not that busy. When I asked manager if he could sense the frustration of the queue, he just replied that we need t9 be patient because they were training someone..... no apology whatsoever.....pretty poor

First (& probably last) visit since the refurbishment. The comfortable sofas have gone, probably to squeeze in some more tables, but for me this has ruined the welcoming atmosphere. The service was dreadful - a long queue to place an order (just for drinks!) and then to be told there would probably be a wait of 20 minutes. I don't know if the baristas were trainees, but if so, surely a busy Saturday afternoon is not best to have them 'on the front line'. We've always considered a visit to Costa's an integral part of a trip to Glossop. After today, that's no longer the case.

Been to costa coffee in Glossop a few times now. Excellent staff, very efficient Good selection of cakes when we went, very enjoyable. Was going to say it could do with a face lift. However went recently and not only was it closed, it was having a major refurbishment. Look forward to it reopening

I couldn't cope doing this job.. The staff do a amazing job.. I've been behind difficult customers and I admire the customer service given by all Well done.. Can't wait for the renovation to be done and my favourite coffee back.. Missed it

nice place to people watch great coffee and snacks but a little rundown and grubby. come on Costa just cause were in the sticks does not mean we don't appreciate a bit of money spent on our environment

The idea of these type of coffee shops is they are meant to be fast, quick on the go and convenient ... Costa coffee in Glossop is none of this...

No different from other coffee shops and now owned by Coca Cola. The breakfast sandwiches could have been better.

I may be a little bias about this place, but I refuse to pay a crazy amount of money to drink a brew

The title says it all. Bad experience at the Pico lounge with loud music.Will now use Costa when visiting Glossop.

This is in a prime position and does great trade. The owners should invest more in the fabric of the place. The staff are really good but constantly seem to battle with worn out equipment. Coffee is lovely however!

From the outside looks good. Inside it's horrendous. 2 staff on at a weekend... Massive queues. Hardly any comfy seats. 1 tiny toilet for m/f/baby changing for their 100 customers. It's rings of the most cynical enterprise, like "we want your money then f-you if you want to sit and enjoy your drinks". A serious contender for worst cafe in the high peak.

What more can you say - they serve good coffee quickly. Staff very courteous. Didn’t eat but food looked good

It's Costa Coffee. They sell lovely coffee and lovely cakes but as you would expect you pay a premium price. The inside is very clean and the service was very good. If the weather is good it's lovely to sit outside on Norfolk Square. It's a Costa Coffee and so you know roughly what to expect from the brand. As Costa's go I would say it's one of the better ones. Recommended for a relaxing coffee.

Soy un gran fan de costa y han sido bastante diferentes costas, pero este tiene que ser uno de los mejores. El personal es muy amable y servicial. El servicio es estupendo, el único aspecto negativo es que no hay suficiente personal hacer las bebidas. Cuando yo fui había 3 personas que sirven y 1 preparar bebidas y no estaba lleno, pero había 5 personas delante de mí que había pagado y nos está esperando para bebidas pero el personal no estaban ayudando. Go regularly to Costa Coffee, enjoy a variety of refreshments and "sarnies" not to mention delicious cakes. On fine days you can have a morning coffee or lunch alfresco.

Tardaron casi 15 minutos hace dos cafés. Personal cayendo uno sobre el otro, derramando bebidas. Tuve un pollo y chorizo sandwichera. Dos lonchas de chorizo encima y un centro blanda. Cuando miré dentro sólo había dos pequeñas piezas de pollo del tamaño de un dedo pequeño uñas. Lo malo.

Pedí tostadas y dos rebanadas venían con una pequeña porción de mermelada pregunté amablemente para otra mermelada para el otro pedazo y me dijeron que tenía que pagar. Entonces me decidí a comercio en mi porciones de mantequilla no quise otra mermelada, que fue aceptada. Aseos muy sucio con papel higiénico y papel sucio en el suelo y claramente no la habían limpiado.

Busy place but managed to find a seat wifi was good hot chocolate is lovely but ask for it to be made warmer as find it tepid as opposed to hot as the name suggests

I use Costa to get a decent cup of coffee while working on my laptop (their WiFi is good). The usual cakes and biscuits you'd expect from a high street chain are available. Service is adequate, as is seating (some outdoors).

Great service, lovely coffee, enjoyed sitting in the window watching the world go by, very relaxing atmosphere...

As with all commercial coffee houses you know what to expect. Quite expensive but no more than Starbucks etc. The staff are pleasant and courteous, it's kept clean and it's a familiar place to have a brew and check your emails without feeling out of place.They do the best Black Forest hot chocolate and ginger lattes at Christmas and it's easy to earn points on your loyalty card if you come here often! Nice view of Norfolk square and in the summer it's good to sit outside.

What I love is having a hot coffee after a long run on the moors! Costa Coffee also live up to what they advertise. I live in the middle of Uganda and there is a lovely school near by that was built and sponsored by Costa Coffee. There is no comparison between a local school and this. So every time I'm home I head here as I know my money is well spent.

It's a delight to visit this branch of Costa - the staff are a superb team and their attitude is beyond praise.

Me and one friend of mine been in this lovely place that i know for ages and in my opinion: it s a nice place for coffee lover, such as it 's write down on the sign up the windows . Never disappointed and staff always make you a smile , they make nice cappuccino of a lot of sizes that you can require. I had a fudge caramel that was so nice and my friend a large cappuccino. Costa coffee is always great and the prices are quite good in comparison to other establishments. The service is good and the shop is always clean and tidy

Once you have added the Fair trade tax, the export duties and deducted the research and development cost of making a coffee, you have to deal with impudent baristas who think they're Queen Counsel. Yet, Glossop has outstanding traffic issues and this place never stop filling up. I would recommend the terrace to fully enjoy the price.

This coffee shop is in a lovely position overlooking Norfolk Square. The coffee is lovely and the little fancies are a lovely touch - tiny lemon meringues, mini millionaires shortbread, etc. Just spoiled a little by the slightly grumpy baristas.

Went with my partner served quickly even though very busy we ordered two cakes, a deluxe hot chocolate & a latte would say more Luke warm than hot... I don't understand why they give you three of the large marshmallows smaller ones would be much better I do feel it's over priced these 4 items cost me £9.85!!! Good job we don't go regularly

We regularly go to this Costa and it was the best thing that happened to Glossop when it opened some years ago. It has outside seating on the square, which is great when our weather allows it. The staff are great and are good at remembering regulars' drinks etc. The only criticism is that the place is so well-used it is showing signs of wear. Whoever owns the cafe needs to invest. We certainly pay enough towards it!

I was in a 3 out of 5 mood before I entered this place. The rain hadn't dampened my spirits but my life had. Or rather, the bad news I'd just received: I was shortly to be made redundant."Damn Cameron and his ilk," I clenched my fist, waved it at a passing cloud and stepped into the coffee shop. I joined a queue.'Rather like the unemployment queue', I muttered to myself within my own brain as I edged a little closer to the delights on offer. I must have given off a wry smile as my thoughts collided because a pretty barista - hat, red hair, hipster beard, glanced at me."Be with you shortly, sir" they coughed cheerfully, and wiped their hand.The large woman in front of me turned around."Nice staff in here," she winked."Yes," I replied. "I'll probably be joining them myself soon.""Ooh, been trained up in the art of coffee making, have you?" she enquired. "I've heard the training is pretty intense. Almost as long as it takes to be a doctor.""I wouldn't know", I replied. And glared at her. Through her, into her soul, past her and at the aesthetically warm and pleasing dark wooden decor."Just when will I get SERVED" I thought to myself."Not long now," someone behind the counter remarked.I realised I must have said this out loud. Cameron's policies must be getting to me more than I thought.I looked out through the large glass window, waiting waiting. I looked at the pigeons shuffling around. Outside it starts to rain again. I sip my hot chocolate as a pigeon smashes into the window and falls to the floor.'Damn those vermin,' I think to myself. 'Damn Cameron.'

Sooooo noisy even the staff had too ask several times what we wanted. Far too noisy to enjoy a relaxing coffee with friends. So made an exit. Also we looked around the coffee house & noticed it looked on the scruffy side, newspapers stuffed in a rack some left untidily on chairs and used pots left on tables along with spillages. Won't be visiting there again. Found a lovely tea room on Norfolk Square just behind the cenotaph serving excellent refreshments and lunches etc. This tea room could teach Costa a lot. Avoid Costa if you want a sociable cuppa where you can hear yourself speak.

This is the only Costa I will not go to any more. Staff are rude and blunt. The drinks are cold and you always have to clear your tables yourself becuase no one can be bothered to do it. Very expensive and definitely not worth the money but go and discover the bad service for yourself if you feel so. There's no atmosphere at all.Always running out of ice in summer, like they don't know everyone will want cold drinks.Bottled drinks are very over priced and can be purchased down the road for half the price.Wouldn't recommend at all.Revive and Twig are far far far better, more friendly and cheaper and far better atmosphere all together.

The place is going downhill and someone needs to get a grip. The décor and furniture are worn. The place never seems to be cleaned in detail, there are cobwebs in the corners and thick dust on chair rails etc. Service, at times, is slow because the staff are apparently indifferent to the fact that a queue has built up - a simple rule should be that if the place is busy you should work faster. When busy, the place is noisy, when there is a big queue it becomes claustrophobic as well. Costa relies on its location and its brand but the independents are definitely worth a try, especially at weekends.

I love Costa usually, but the past 3 times i have visited to get a takeout coffee the cup is never full and the coffee itself is not very warm. I always ask for extra hot now in that case but as i say the coffee is never full and luke warm. Usually quite good, but they are letting themselves down!

well everywhere I go I have to have a Costa Coffee. The place was clean and tidy and was kept clean and table where wiped dawn quickly. on arrival I was asked for my order and then I was offered a free cookie , the coffee was amazing was nice to drink why I was using the free wifi to check my emails.

Very professional as always. I particularly enjoy their hot chocolate with marshmallows. Those who like this sort of place will find this the sort of place they like.

If there were regular sweeps of the used crockery, this would be a far nicer place to visit! As it is, it can be hard to find an uncluttered, clean seat and the newspapers are limited and tatty. Could be SOOO nice with just a little more effort as there seen to be regular staff with positive attitudes and good smiles!

Visited on several occations and always found the staff so friendly, it was a pleasure to pass away the time there. Food and drink prices and quality are much the same across the group but cleanliness can vary considerably. Here the tables were clean and cleared as soon as vacated but it was tyhe friendliness that takes the prize. Werll done guys, keep it up.

Called in for a bite to eat and a drink on our journey to the Peak District. Usual Costa type setting with staff run off their feet. Very friendly and helpful but it was a shame the rewards scheme wasn't working - why else would you choose a Costa?Anyway not bad the staff were lovely.

staff are friendly, and it's nice to see that the managers get their hands stuck in by helping out even when it's relatively quiet. Free wifi and outdoor seating in the square make this a nice place to go for a quick drink with friends, and the inside is light and airy, with lots of windows, which can't be said for some of the other cafes in Glossop, which to me seem quite dingy.
