The staff are always friendly and the service is good. The atmosphere is homely and the place is clean and welcoming. It is always a pleasure to visit.

Nice branch. Friendly staff. Abigail makes THE best Flat White. Flat Whites can be hit and miss in some Costas. Clean and tidy.

I’ve been to this branch a few times now. The coffee is hit & miss - sometimes too cool & insipid and sometimes just right. Occasionally the incorrect drink is served due to lack of attention Some staff are super friendly whilst others look bored and disinterested. My main gripe with this branch is lack of cleanliness. The seating is stained, the tables are left with used cups etc. in the afternoons, quite often drinks are served in takeaway cups because the washing up hasn’t been done. Overall, this branch needs a sprucing up.

It’s Sunday and the temperature outside is 1 centigrade. Inside, there is no heat, and clients are all wearing jackets.

Coffee is a standard product - with some variations - across Costa franchises so the environment and service make all the difference. The staff in this branch are very friendly, welcoming and efficient even under pressure. The premises itself is also very bright, clean and comfortable.

I called into Royston on my way elsewhere and decided to try the local Costa. The staff were very friendly and the service and coffee were high standard. This is a very nice Costa branch in an interesting building with a small outside seating area behind some railings. Good toilet, though cramped.

It's always a pleasure to have a coffee here. The staff are friendly and the place is usually quite busy. If you want some time to yourself, you may want to go in the morning, because it can soon fill up with families as the day progresses. All-in-all, definitely a place to enjoy your favourite beverage - they also do a range of hot snacks, so what are you waiting for...?

The quality of the product and service is always good. Unfortunately, the temperature inside the building is kept as cold as possible, making it uncomfortable for clients. It is around 2 centigrade outside and the A/C unit is blowing cold air. Maybe they should call it the Arctic Zone instead of Costa! In response to the request for the cooling to be turned off, the staff explain that the espresso machine and grill are too hot inside the bar making it uncomfortable for them, so cooling is required.

Went in here to buy some lunch and a cappuccino decaf. All the staff were polite, and quick and amazing. The sausage roll was cooked to perfection, and the store manager Suzi was helpful I'll definitely be visiting here again

Went in here a couple days ago to have a drink on my own. I was waiting at the front for a good 10 minutes before somebody came out to serve me. When i got my drink it was mediocre. I also asked for a pastry, when eating this i found it to be soggy and not crispy or flaky at all. Aswell as all of this i found the staff member that served me was really rude and abrupt, she wasn’t very inviting and made me want to leave. I ended up just drinking my drink then going to another café

We have always had a preconceived idea about Costa. Over priced,a young peoples place, not great coffee or food etc. but we tried the one in Royston as our usual haunt was going down hill and we were at a loss as to where to try. We were very pleasantly surprised in this one! And we have been quite regularly ever since. We find the staff very obliging and friendly. Of course, there is no age bracket associated with Costa ( all in our head) and, as coffees and cake and snacks go, they are quite competitive. It is nice coffee and we enjoy a 'tuna melt' and some sort of cake. We have never found it dirty. All in all, we have been very happy going there so far.

2 employees over 3 days served me. One a young lady, the other a young gentleman. Both equally friendly and warming, can not do enough for their customers. Environment is clean and tidy, music perfect level. The go to coffee shop for me now. Cant recommend enough.

Returning home from Bury Saint Edmunds on a Sunday morning, we were keen to find some decent coffee to sustain us! We remembered the Costa Coffee in Royston opens on Sundays, so popped by – friendly service and the usual stuff from the Costa. Well worth the brief detour!

Costa Coffee in Royston serves the standard Costa offerings of drinks and snacks. It is a spacious cafe with plenty of tables that seem to be kept clean by the staff. We were looking for somewhere to go for tea on a Sunday afternoon and this seemed to be the only place in the area that was open after about 4pm.

Usual costa experience - friendly staff. Great space for buggies and families with smaller members - although you'll need someone to hold the door open for you !

Fabulous stop off, staff are friendly and fun people, they all know me by name and exactly what I'm going to order drink wise. Little wonder that this place is always busy .......... love going in there.

Great and welcoming staff - coffee just the best around. Visit there 2 3 times a week, now members of serving staff know our order and prepare it without us even asking.

Had a coffee and pastry here the other day, the coffee is good but the pastries were a bit stale. The service is friendly and there is plenty of seating inside and out. Located in the high street.

This is a lovely little Coffee shop in the High Street, in days gone by it was a Toy shop, some somewhat of a transformation.I use this at least twice a week for my early morning Coffee, I first go to a local Bakery to get my Chocolate covered Doughnuts, then walk the few yards to Costa Coffee. Being semi-regular the staff all know me and it's great as I usually don't have to ask for the two drinks (Latte with sprinkles & Black Americano) I have. I'm always greeted with a smile and served in the usual efficient manner. Always a pleasure to see the Team Members consisting of Suzy, Laura, Sophie, Natalie, Chloe, Zac and Ben. The place is ok, small and busy. The coffee is good. The problem is that the tables and floor is never really clean. There’s sometimes 4 people working behind the counter, I would see someone occasionally clear the table but they never wipe it. I did have a photo who I believe is the team leader sat chatting, whilst the table pictured was just left as a mess. Even when finished chatting she never bothered to look at the state of the tables. It could be a little gem if housekeeping standard were improved.

Went here at 4.30 p.m. on a Saturday. Only a few customers were there. The assistant was abrupt, the tables were sticky and many still had the cups, plates, etc from the last customers. A place to avoid if you want a decent snack in a clean environment.

I seldom come here now and if I do tend to try and sit outside if weather permits ,it does get quite noisy at times and is like a kindergarten.The coffee is average and expensive

Popped in yesterday early morning to meet a friend for coffee. We couldn’t believe our eyes of how dirty the place was. Looks like it could do with a deep clean everywhere. There was ants on the chairs and all over the back wall and we wasn’t the only two talking about it whilst we was there. Very very disappointing as we love our costa coffee shops!!!!

Always get very good service at this Costa.Food is always of a high, fresh standard.Staff very friendly.

A nice sized Costa with plenty of place to sit and chat, I had a business meeting here and it was perfect. Other than that it's just an average Costa Coffee, I have been in nicer ones with more ambiance but I've been in worse ones as well.

OK service, tables always left dirty, items not cleared away. The coffee is ok but the food is still quite stale here I don't think I have ever eaten a fresh muffin or cake. It is like they are left overs from a few days ago. So the prices are not good for what you get. Conveniently placed in the High Street. The service also can be quite slow in this outlet.

You have to pick your time /day to come here otherwise it is like kindergarten lots of kids not always a quite place to have a coffee and a chat . The coffee is ok not always as hot as it should be , expensive eats , not good for those on a budget.

Good coffee and cakes. Staff friendly and really try. Love the Lemon Tart. Tables plus comfy sofas. Have seen use lap tops at tables so good for a work catch up.

Very friendly service at this Costa, but the croissants were very dry and stale, not good the food generally here is very expensive for what you actually get, coffee and pastry £4 ?? a bit over the top especially as the food was stale.

A Small Costa with all on offer as the other shops do. It was very cosey and comfortable. The staff friendly and the area clean.

Probablemente vienen aquí por lo menos dos veces a la semana es tan fácilmente accesible en la ciudad, el servicio es bueno, el personal amable buena selección de aperitivos fríos y calientes y los pasteles. En ocasiones el café no ha sido muy caliente, así...

Es un lugar normal para ir a beber un café, casi como cualquier otra cafetería. Algo que no me agrada es que no siempre las máquinas para hacer café se encuentren limpias (de todos modos parece ser solo de los líquidos del uso).

As a company Costa is well known for vacuuming, spraying tables etc around their customers BEFORE closing time, however 1hr10m before closing is just rude and disrespectful to their customers.Today I have to move THREE times to avoid a) the Hoover & crashing chairs on to tops of tables next to where I was eating b) the Hoover again and c) crashing chairs on to tops of tables right behind where I was sitting, along with spray detergent & sweeping (crashing into skirting with such force I'm surprised the building didn't fall down!).Costa really should have more respect for their customers, and clean up when the shop is closed, or leave it until the show is almost closed. 70 mins to Hoover, sweep & clean is not necessary.Today Costa have lost 2 customers, I shall be taking my business elsewhere. Somewhere who respect the customer who in effect pay their wages!
