Costa Coffee in Newcastle upon Tyne

What a rip off this place is! Prices have gone up again £4.05 now for a small red berries cooler! Costa you lost me as a customer today! I sincerely hope you lose other customers too! who won't put up with your greedy price rises anymore.

Quick and efficient service with a smile.

Very expensive and very busy, but still a nice place for a quick bite to eat

I ordered several items from Costa, St Mary's Place, Newcastle through just eat and an item from my order was missing. I requested compensation/refund from Just Eat for the £4 cost of the item and listed the item which was missing, only for just eat to say they would not refund due to lack of information. What more information did they need? they had the order number, my name, address and details if the item missing. They are quick to take your money but not so quick to refund when the order is not fulfilled. So thanks to just eat, I didn't eat!

My friend and I went first thing in the morning for breakfast and we didn't regret it. The quantities they serve are quite large, at least than what we ordered. Friendly service, cozy, clean and quiet atmosphere.

They gave us a tuna panini instead of mozzarella and tomato. We are both vegetarian and my partner has a lot of allergies, so this could have been very bad for them.

I'm a big fan of Costa in general but I think this might be the most consistently good Costa I have been to. The staff are very pleasant and efficient and the place is kept very clean.

Took 1 hour and 30 minutes to arrive and it was freezing cold.

Friendly service and lots of indoor seating available. Peaceful atmosphere, 5/5.

I never normally do reviews for places but this costa is amazing. As a newcastle uni student I'm in here quite a lot to do work, the atmosphere isn't either chaotic or dead and although it gets quite busy at times the staff are always lovely.

only had coffee x 2 asked for something I did not know if I said it correct - no acknowledgement and had to ask again if I had ordered the right thing, n I was standing near the counter when my order was finished but no-one said it was ready! had to ask n as for atmosphere early Sunday am - not that many people in

I never usually do reviews for places or whatever but I come in here every day since I go to Northumbria University and all the staff are always really welcoming and just lovely and helpful. Recently for uni I’ve been doing a lot of work outside in the cold and the staff provided me and my group with cups of hot water and filled up hot water bottles and it’s was just so nice and well appreciated.

Had a Latte, it wasn't that nice. Felt like a run of the mill coffee. Probably won't be going back.

Despite being a chain outlet this is a very friendly little coffee house. The staff seem to really enjoy working together which just gave the loveliest atmosphere on a very rainy, wet day.

I cannot explain how lovely the staff are! The service was absolutely amazing and this definitely put a smile on my face as a sleep deprived university student. Thank you so much, Gwella! ❤️

My favourite Cafe. I travel 1 hour by bus from Blyth Northumberland 2 to 3 times a week.

Always stop here after work for a frappe for the walk home. Staff are always lovely but wanted to say a thank you today especially as I stupidly decided to wear new shoes today and ended up with blisters. The lovely girl (didn’t catch her name) behind the counter went out of her way to get me some plasters. Thank you

This is a really nice Costa, nice layout and always a table free to grab

£4.50 for a lukewarm hot chocolate and 3 marshmallows. Less than impressed.

Friendly staff, very welcoming and a pleasant experience. The drinks menu includes festive options with a the Terry's Chocolate Orange or After Eight Hot Chocolate - so so good. Prompt service, with additional options including different milks to cater for those with specific dietary requirements.

I'm there almost everyday, always good service and the coffee is lovely.

I would have given 4 stars because the place was clean, the seats were cosy and the desserts were dislplayed beautifully. But the customer service could have been a bit better. My friend asked for an Americano with milk...but they forgot the milk so she had to leave the table to go and get it. The lady who took my order coughed (in a post Covid world, who knows, right?) but she wasn't wearing a mask. Not terrible service, just not brilliant. But my Americano was good: strong, good flavour and not too hot.

Quick service and friendly staff. No dining in at the time I visited but you could sit outside.

One of the best cafes in the Newcastle City Centre. The staff is always very warm, food good, and drinks perfect!

I like their coffee much better than the othe huge chain.

Clean quiet and with friendly service. The Costas that are a little more in the centre are so busy so it’s worth a stroll further to go to this one . Will be even better when we can sit down and enjoy a coffee inside !

Really friendly, helpful staff and great service. Only downside is it can get quite busy on a lunchtime - which is fine, I love the buzz...unless, as in many of these coffee shops, laptop users are taking up seats while eating and drinking their own stuff and not buying Costa products, which means the paying customers have to find somewhere else to go. Have no problem with them using laptops and having Costa products, it's a great place to work and study - but it's a bit 'off' when you see them unpacking a picnic!

Pretty good. Had a Vodafone offer for a free coffee. Went in and got it quite fast.

A little oasis of calm in a busy city. Always a nice welcome and a great place to take time out from the busy shops around Northumberland St. Also great for people watching. I was a little disappointed recently with their limited selection of eats so dropped a star otherwise would have given them five.

Much quieter than most other Costas (particularly those in Eldon Square and Gateshead central). I visit here regularly to grab a coffee while I study. Staff have always been excellent here.

A costa is the same as any other? Well mostly I agree but not here. Ali and her team have manged to create a really good atmosphere here. With a good mix of students, academics, folk from the civic centre, it's a diverse set of customers. But Ali and her crew go the extra mile, there are sign language evenings held every month, regular events and displays about local charity initiatives, and a warm smile for everyone. It doesn't feel like costa, it's better.

Easy access by pedestrian, not so good for motorists as parking limited. Good selection of treats on offer along with the usual coffee.

A lovely Costa on the corner. Big windows. Often busy and on the crowded side but great for study or small groups.

Very cosy café with delicious sandwiches, chocolates, and of course coffee! Surprisingly pleasant for a chain-brand café, and a lovely place to people-watch and relax.

Went in to grab a quick cup of tea. Came out with worst cup of tea i've had, ever seen dirty dish water? They gave me that in a fancy cup for £1.75.
