Visited 11 June 2024, morning, served by mixed race lady (I’m non white so no racial bias- only for ease of description intent here for management to give her some training etc), there was no one else queuing,she was engaged with a convo to staff, my service seems to have disrupted this and was inconvenient for her to make my hot drink which was served warm,I only noticed after my fist sip onto my car journey a minute later, I always sip away at a 140 degree costa standard for at least 20 minutes enjoying the hot drink etc

No brown bread lady serving very stressed not very happy at all .working on own serving making coffee while a queue. U need more staff so the staff u have are not stressed and smile more very disappointed

Non professional behavior disconnected the till tab and said it’s not working and then start laughing disrespectfully.(two girls one white short height girl and the other one big curly hair brown girl) , keep on suggesting me other locations for coffee ☕️ i mean seriously

I went to the costa coffee at around 3pm with my grand daughter . I asked the chap who had ginger hair behind the counter if they had a baby chair . He new i had my hands full with tye baby and did not offer to bring it over . Then as i was leaving i asked the girl for a bag to place my croissant in , she looked confused and pulled a face and gave me the bag ... My daughter came to join me and i went for my massage . The same ginger haired chap was short with her and slammed her drink on the counter . When i arrived back at Costa i told her to take the baby to the car whilst i waited to get some hot water for the babies milk . He was not please at this request and did not place a plastic cover on the cup . His behaviour was off putting , even as far to say racist ... He did not treat the white customers in the same manner ..... Disgusted never going there again !!!!!

I was invited to attend an interview to be held at Costa in knowle. I was so nervous waiting. There was a lovely kind young lady who was cleaning the tables and kindly brought myself and my interviewer a glass of water and wished me good luck. Her warm welcoming kindness extended to me really helped. I am pleased to say my interview was successful and was offered the job. I will be working a few doors away from Costa but I will be going in there regularly thanks to that lovely lady being so kind to me that day. Excellent customer service. Thank you so much!!!

The food and drinks were the usual Costa quality, however the service provided by the staff was poor. One drink was left off of the order and the implication was that it was my fault. The coffee was pushed into the takeout tray with no comment and when I thanked the staff member concerned her response was to smirk. She had no concept of customer service. I have previously given this branch good reviews, but this particular team are not an asset to the company.

Had a phone interview for a job , I missed the call but I called back within 1 minute after and I’ve never had a text or a call back to take the interview, I’ve been completely ignored , rude , maybe it’s a sign that it wouldn’t have been a nice place to work

Have to agree with the sentiment of others that the staff attitude needs improving! Costa need to rehire some new staff, attitude, passive aggression and hostility are not the attributes for the hospitality sector

I would give a 0 for awful customer service. A group of friends and I were served by a rude server called Aime in knowle costa who after I purchased a drink, proceeded to kick us out of the shop even though, it was not due to close and was not busy at all inside. We were not being disruptive or causing harm in anyway. This is the first time I've had a negative experience in costa. Do better and sort out your staff.

Foods and drinks are good. The manager is miserable, feel bad for the staff :(

My experience was 1/5. They overcharged my friend. They gave us both the wrong drink and then stated that we asked for them in the first place. Then when we called them out on it they said “It’s what we asked for to begin with”, didn’t offer us a refund or anything similar. It’s fine for a place to make a mistake, however blaming the customers for the mistake was out of order. We spoke to the manager (Aime) and she told us that it’s our fault for ordering “the wrong drink”.

Visited Knowle Costa (24/2/23) & had the misfortune to meet the rudest, arrogant waitress called Georgia. It was 5.30pm so I politely asked what time they closed as she was banging chairs around me, she threw an annoyed look & said 6pm. I asked if there was a problem & I explained I didn't understand her attitude. More attitude & no apology. I then spoke to the other waitress who was very apologetic for her behaviour & after reading other reviews I see Georgia is not a nice person. Georgia if you don't like customers, leave the hospitality service!

Great place to pick up and go or order and eat in.

No body clears the tables, so be prepared to do it yourself and sit on an unwiped table. As for the waitress Georgia, someone needs to explain to her what the meaning of "hospitality" is. Or ideally she should find another job not in the hospitality industry

Average Costa shop on the main road through Knowle. Little on the small side. Staff and coffee excellent as usual. Small selection of hot and cold sandwiches and wraps, and a selection of cakes.

Popped into the Coleshill branch and I ordered two Frostinos. Shop had a couple of customers seated and the store was not busy! Four staff members were working but it took the girl nearly 25 minutes to make our drinks because she was taking to a male colleague! I can honestly say it got to the point I was going to ask for my money back! I would hate to see her in other busier store where the poor staff are run off their feet! It’s the worst store I have visited and I love Costa, it’s my go to coffee shop! I hate to moan but the wait was ridiculous because she was standing talking! A shout out to both the Solihull branches, Five Ways drive thru, great drinks and food and fab customer service!! This was on 1/6/2022 around 1400!!

Disappointed to have to write a bad review, but when you are dealt with so rudely you tend to want to tell everyone (just as when you receive great service!)… I use the Costa App to buy coffees from Dorridge & Knowle depending on the way I am walking/working. By accident I ordered and chose the Dorridge store, when I should have chosen Knowle. So I went in and explained to the manageress… when I say RUDE, I mean RUDE … she wasn’t interested- she was dismissive and quite frankly didn’t want to hear what I was trying to explain. She told me ‘call customer service I can’t do anything’ - repeatedly! After that she just ignored my existence. I explained that I’d done something similar at Dorridge and they had just rectified it out of good will… no questions, just a decent reaction to another human being who had made a mistake. Now I get that this might be a problem for them, but maybe they need to improve the system. However, until that happens it would serve them well to treat their customers with a little more empathy and acknowledgment. If she had of explained the situation and I had felt heard, I might have just thought - you know what I’ll just walk to Dorridge. Would it have hurt them to make one FOC Cortado - they’d had the money for the ones I collected from Dorridge only a week before? It’s better to be kind, than to be right!

Lovely atmosphere, clean, tidy, great coffee and helpful and polite staff.

Staff are a credit to Costa.Always friendly and professional and will go above and beyond to provide a professional service.And they know how to make a good coffee unlike some of the other Costa coffee shops. One big negative thing is the place is looking tired and needs a complete refurbishment.Costa need to invest some of their profits back into Knowle coffee shop.

Five stars for friendly and professional service. However, sofa close to lamp and carpet around are dirty and needs to be replaced. Hence only 4*.

Its coffee... In a chain store. All ok! A warm oasis on a stormy day

We have been to this Costa twice. The first time, the member of staff serving us walked off halfway through our order, with no explanation, and her reluctant replacement told us we couldn’t sit on a table in the carpeted area as they had “just swept the floor”. We wanted to give it another chance - everyone can have a bad day - so went back on another occasion. The moment we walked in, the same member of staff snapped that they were closing in 15 minutes. To her obvious disappointment, we continued to order our coffees (takeaway). My husband asked for one of the pastries on display, only to be told very abruptly by the woman behind the counter that those pastries were only for tomorrow’s customers so were unavailable for order. Both times the employees looked at us like we were something unpleasant they’d scraped off the coffee machine. My family have been to Costa Coffees up and down the country and have never experienced such appallingly poor service before. Not only do the women here clearly loathe their jobs, they don’t appear to have any manners at all, let alone know the basics of customer service. We won’t go back.

Good range of hot drinks and a good seating area

Went here with my Dad for a quick drink and a cake. Great service, drink and cake were gorgeous and much needed!

I just wanted to thank the staff at the Costa in Knowle for all their hard work and effort during lockdown and beyond. I go at least once a week and staff are always friendly and polite. A couple of my friends are quite elderly and the staff are so helpful to them and take great care with them. Thank you.

Love my morning coffee from there, Aime and Maisie are very pleasant. Coffee is always up to standard, fast and efficient service.

The current manager of knowle costa coffee seems to have great pride in being a abusive bully. They have absolutely no customer service skills. They allowed there staff to be rude and then complimented them on there behaviour. Today I went on for a salted caramel frappachino . Whilst awaiting in the que of three customers , the manager was quite happy to stand and watch there staff chat amongst themselves whilst on a go slow serving drinks to customers. When I eventually got served 20 mins later I asked for my drink. I also asked for my previous points from a costa coffee receipt to be transferred to my app as there machine was not working. The manager proceeds to tell me that they could not transfer these points as it was from a costa on a motorway . I explained that I couldn’t go back and that they are the representative of costa and therefore should honour this. The managers reply was “ go back on the motorway and get your points”! The other members of staff then decided to aggressively push my drink down the counter. Now this drink was supposed to come with cream sauce sprinkles etc. It had nothing, just a plain drink. I asked if they could please make my drinks how it supposed to be served. The assistant laughed in my face! The manager then said to the assistant “ give her her money back! “. It was totally disgusting behaviour now in front of a large que who saw this. I then asked her for a pen and customer service number and there name. They said “google the company and find it out yourself”’ . I then asked them for a photo as I had no pen to spell there name. They just stood there and let me take the photo . They then proceeded to say extremely sarcastically and humiliating way “ bye bye have a nice day “whilst laughing at me! It was totally humiliating and a complaint has gone in about her behaviour which is quite utterly sickening. If you see this lady don’t expect any manors and to be treated in humane .... Disgusting!!!

I live at Costa, my favourite place to go and sit in for coffee and cake, some people might think it's expensive but the coffee is the best and I think it's worth the money!

She asked who had given me permission to move and that she told us we couldn't! Then implied the younger employee was in trouble after being the only helpful one handling a minimal problem correctly, showing far better hospitality. Actually shocked at how the tattooed girl shouted at me on a monday morning before work infront of other customers. Shocking hospitality. Management take note!

Popped in for some drinks. Standard costa experience. Staff were ok, took the orders and got them ready, pretty much to the point.

Always friendly staff, clean, easy to park plus Costa serves allergy friendly food and drink with ought charging extra for alternative plant based milks and allergy cakes are the same price as other cakes etc. They also currently have vegan range of food.

Always friendly staff most favourite coffee stop when out training on the bike

We had some time to kill on a beautiful Thursday afternoon so, having already walked around the village and seen the old houses and beautiful church, we stopped for a cup of tea. There was plenty of room on arrival so we chose a soft, comfy sofa. The tea was served in little tea pots with enough water for 2 cups, milk was in jugs beside the till (3 different types of milk). The only downside was that I had to wipe out my cup before pouring the milk. As schools closed, the place filled up with children so our timing had been perfect.

Stopped for a coffee before off shopping, the shop wasn't overly busy, but the service was slow and not very pleasant, I asked for a medium Cap extra hot to take away in my re useable Costa cup, the coffee was poor but more importantly not hot at all!! Would not recommend and will stick to the Costa down in Dorridge which is managed by the former manager of this shop!!

My autistic boy and i move around the Costa Coffee shops as its a consistent and has the baby chocolates. We were local and meet up with some friends and went to costa. The ladies in this chain were really nice. They seamed so kind and friendly and were collecting for a local fundraiser (lego associated) we enjoyed our time and plan to return. The loo was clean as was the restruant. Thank you, we needed a place to regroup and this is what we found.

Coffee good but served in cups with dirty chipped rims. Air conditioning blowing very cold but told it was broken and could not be adjusted? Not a good example of the brand.

I visited the Costa Coffee cafe in Knowle today and it was a most enjoyable experience. I had tea and a glass of water . The tea was Twinnings breakfast tea and it was of good quality. The staff were friendly and efficient at serving my order . I would recommend a visit to the Costa Coffee cafe in Knowle

One thing I can never understand with some Costas why do they put chocolate cake on a warm plate?

Coffee tastes vary a lot, I have found, and it isn't always related to the price. Excellent coffees can be bought at much cheaper places than Costa. But if you find that Cost coffees suit your palette, then rest assured that you will find them pretty consistent wherever you go.

Okay, but Barista was somewhat curt in manner. Perhaps it had been a long day!!?

Called in here no one else was waiting seemed to take an age to get the coffee just two drinks they weren’t very warm and found out later that the points weren’t put on the card think I’ll try some where else.

Visited here yesterday Monday 15th October to meet a friend. The service here is very slow not sure if they are short staffed. Also lots of the empty tables were filled with the dirty mugs and crocks from previous customers. No one was clearing or cleaning any tables. As a result when we went to sit down to drink our drink we had to clear a table ourself. Other customers who arrived after us had to do the same.When we went for a second round of drinks they had run out of tea pots so had to have a teabag in a cup. Not really good enough with the prices they are charging.Toilet could have also done with a clean. Not the best shop I have visited.

Spoilt by children running about and customers taking up tables reading books and working on laptops with no food or drinks and ignorantly ignoring people trying to find a seat

Racist staff, threw out children and the person looking after them for no reason, called the police when the kids tried to order coffee. Never coming back.

Just read an account and watched video evidence of how disgustingly the staff here treated a group of Asian/Black children on an NCS trip. Pure nasty racism in this day an age is atrocious, and the members of staff here should be ashamed of themselves. I will also be filing a formal complaint to make sure this situation is handled accordingly.

I share other reviewers comments that service is on the slow side here - could be much faster if more people were serving at peak times - but I don't share other reviewer's comments about it being so dirty as to be a health hazard. I have always found it clean, apart from some used cups lying on tables which is inevitable in a coffee shop of this kind - at least for a short time. Coffee is good - and they serve the usual range of Costa cakes, pastries, sandwiches, toasties etc. I would definitely come here again.

I never write reviews like this but I have to highlight the lack of standards in this coffee shop. Not to sound graphic but it actually makes me feel sick thinking about it. I dread to think if swabs were taken of this place what kind of bacteria would be lurking all over. To name a few floors, walls, touch points and skirting were covered in debris, dust and general dirt. The tables were sticky and chairs had crumbs on. The drink counter it’s self the glass was extremely dirty that housed the cakes and the trays needed binning. The worst area were the toilets, they clearly hadn’t been clean correctly for some time, the smell was so strong with Faeces all over the toilet brushes. The staff were miserable but I would be working with standards like that. Didn’t get a coffee went with a bottle drink and no glass. Dread to think what there ice machine looks like inside. I would never go back, they need to step up their food safety standards here because they are going to make someone seriously ill.

Costa sits a stones throw away from our place of work on Knowle High Street! The staff are very friendly and efficient! We regularly order a round of Latte’s, tea’s etc. and various Toasted Sandwiches, Cakes etc! The Cakes and Pastries have recently become more varied in choice now which is good! And they are always tasty and piping hot! This particular Costa is always busy, inside and out! Good place to grab a coffee and a bite to eat!

I like to go here to get a hot drink just before work and it’s always been nice and very clean. Only criticism I have is that the service is quite slow.

Big standard Costa with really nice staff. There is plenty of room and it's not as loud as you would expect from a highstreet coffee house either. The staff were really nice and helpful. Good food and drinks. The picture below is my little ones drink with straw as the plastic was hard to drink out of 😀

Visited a couple of times when on holiday in the area. It's a Costa Coffee. You get what you expect. It was busy but tables were cleared fairly promptly. Appeared clean and well stocked with sandwiches and cakes.

I am a regular here and I always receive good customer service. Sometimes the drinks, especially the cold drinks, can be a bit below average which is a shame considering how much they are. But the staff will make you another one if they are not up to standard.

I visited here yday with my daughter and her friend. Her friend had never visited a Costa so thought I would treat her to a hot chocolate. It was a busy Saturday afternoon and the queue was outside the door. The staff serving you at the till was actually making the drinks so you can imagine how long it took for us to be served. Yep half an hour with no apology for having to wait. I only use Costa as I do think it's the best brand around but today this one let it down. They clearly couldn't cope with the influx of customers when it got busy. I'm just glad the hot chocolate was worth the wait.

Similar to any other Costa coffee shop, located on a pleasant small High Street with some outside seating. I had skinny Latte with a lovely Lemon Muffin, excellent value but had to ask for the coffee to be heated further as it was only lukewarm. This was no problem although I didnt understand why I had to have a complete new mug of coffee? Still, was piping hot second time around. There is a more expensive option across the road with great choices but it costs more, so depends what you want and what youre prepared to spend. Staff at this Costa were pleasant and efficient.

Meet here for business and pleasure regularly. Excellent service, excellent coffee and snacks and efficient service. WILL return ....... AGAIN !! 😀

Fuimos a conocer a un viejo amigo para tomar un café y fuimos a Costa en Solihull. Me pareció que había demasiados escaños y con una sillita me pareció que era una tarea para llegar a un asiento. Aunque el personal era muy agradable y se ofreció a ayudar. Situado a un tiro de piedra de la estación de autobús de solihull cerca Touchwood Centro Comercial. Ideal para una copa rápida mientras pasar todo su masa ganado duramente.

Popped in here after a days shopping & whilst the tea ,coffee & service was good the shop was filthy! We sat down at a dirty table, tried to find another table but that was the same. Food all over the floor, dirty cups left out and every table sticky. Went to the toilet to find sanitary bins over flowing, urine all around the toilet ( in both toilets) and tissue paper ( some used) all over the floor. I didn't complain but did mention it to a barista girl who apologised but I don't think she really knew how to respond. Such a shame as nice place, good location but basically a pig sty and hygiene should be better than this!

A days shopping with friends in Solihull resulted in us popping into Costa Coffee mid morning for a refreshing drink. I had. Cappuccino and my 2 friends had lattes - we really enjoyed these drinks, soaking up the atmosphere inside and chatting with the friendly staff. We were so relaxed when we left that we have agreed to meet up at Costa in future ! Great place to unwind, great staff, great choices and great prices !
