Costa Coffee in Stockton-on-Tees

Alec served my daughter & myself on Monday teatime at NEXT/Costa in Teesside Retail Park, Stockton . I’d just like to say we have now nicknamed him Buzz as in Lightyear he went ‘above & beyond’ to make sure we were happy with our order . So kind and nothing too much for him , Every Costa should have an Alec . See you next time we’re in Buzz ☕️ x

Called here whilst out shopping in this outlet,service very slow but staff helpful and friendly ,seating area a bit small and cramped, needs to be bigger and bigger serving desk as cramped behind them,food usual good but expensive,decent choice,for me not enough staff clearing tables and tidying up.

Very disappointed to discover only one high chair for the whole Teesside Park Costa Coffee. To accommodate lively twin 18 month old girls we needed two chairs. On previous visits there were a number of high chairs available, where have they all gone.

My friend and I, both elderly ladies with walking issues went here for coffee. I naturally assumed there were toilets. Wrong! My friend said there used to be some and when I asked, was told there were none. I was told some of the nearest were in Asda. It was pouring down at the time and by the time we got there we were soaked. I emailed Costa customer services but the reply did not address the problem, merely talked about passing on the information. Will not be returning .

Thank you for your pleasant service ( man @ the till and man who prepared the takeaway Latte ) and the coffee ☕️ was great too . Keep up the great service.

It was a real inconvenience that there wasn't a toilet. Told there was one across the other side of the shopping centre, as it was pouring down this was not an option. Ended up having to leave some of my meal . Researching this, it seems that a place providing food with more than 10 seats, which it certainly has, has to provide toilets for its customers. Stupidly I assumed there would be one, and would use it when I had got my food and a table. Staff member was quite rude when I asked why there wasn't one and got defensive.

Went in today and surprisingly only two other customers in front of me which is unusual. Stood for an absolute age as the member of staff leafed through a file. There was a girl waiting to make drinks, someone filling up the cake stand, two members of staff clearing tables. We stood for quite a while so I asked politely if anyone else could serve as by now the queue was out the door. I received a very curt, snappy response that the person being served had an allergy and they had to follow rules. I replied that I had no problem at all with that but that my question was could anyone else serve. The reply was no because he’s using the till (not the case as the server in question was still looking through allergy advice). I then asked if the other till could be used. Again a really snappy retort that no that till was off. He then flounced into the kitchen. I and another customer were taken aback by this response. We continued to wait as the queue grew. I really don’t think that putting on an extra till on a Saturday afternoon should have warranted such a response.

Didn't notice at first but when needed a table did notice nearly all tables full of trays which hadn't been cleared away.It wasn't busy so no excuse.The coffee was barely warm.Worse was to come when visited the toilet.This was absolutely disgusting.Toilet paper all over the floor and the floor itself was filthy.Overall not a pleasant experience not to be repeated.

Called in today was busy but good atmosphere nice food and hot drinks though pricey a bit but paying for name but pleasant experience .would recommend and call again.

I have limited mobility but like to manage best I can on 2 crutches. Visited with my daughter, went for a coffee and a rest. I wasn't able to sit anywhere, because of covid you néed to be seated. Which I don't mind, it's a learning curve for everyone. I was told I had to wait in the queue, which was a fairly long one. Staff gave me a chair which my daughter had to move for me each time the queue moved. Getting up and down each time doesn't help when it's a struggle. Need somewhere for a disabled person to sit, if I was in my wheelchair, I'd have been OK. With all the tables n chairs piled around, there could have sat me down. There was plenty of room with more than 2 metres away from everyone else.

Went in just as it opened so should have been clean. Floor and seats had clearly not been cleaned or wiped down! Makes you wonder how Covid compliant their are I'd this is level of hygiene!

Visited at teatime too cold to sit outside but quiet inside with only a half the seating area open. Procedures seemed no different so not sure how it would be in busy times. Costa do one of the best flat whites

Today we visited Costa Teesside Park on a gloriously sunny day, we had to queue but they had a canopy up so it was fine, our outdoor host was Dan and he was superb, very chat and was running the outdoor seating area with military precision which was great, drinks are always fab but having a pleasant host will definitely make us come back !! Great work Dan, you must of been shattered from wearing the mask in the heat all day but he never once complained !!! Star Employee !!!

Visited the one Inside Next at Teesside Park and it's lovely but spoilt by lack of staff. Had to clear the table myself! Long queue that took ages to get served. You expect better given the price of the coffee!

Handy place for a coffee whilst shopping, also a good meeting place to catch up with friends. Sometimes can seen like a creache.

As always, great branch of Costa, friendly staff, great coffee. Nothing is ever a problem and always a good selection of cakes etc.

Called in today whilst shopping ,sat outside in the sun,had usual drinks and cakes all nice but overpriced as paying for name.plenty of staff inside and helpful but slow to clear tables outside also drinks in chiller weren’t cold enough.was busy and a bit hectic inside as que long.

I bought a hot chocolate for myself and a peach ice drink for my fiancé. The drinks was nice except the ice tea my fiancé said she couldn't taste the peach or anything and she left half of it. The prices are ridiculous it cost 6 pound 40 pence for 2 drinks a hot chocolate with whipped cream and a peach iced tea. It's good for a quick drink but I suggest looking for somewhere less pricey

Quick pit stop before shopping. Been to this Costa several times before, always busy but never had a problem getting a table. Staff friendly and efficient. Great food and drinks just as expected! Will return again.

Always busy here but we went in about 6pm when it's a bit quieter do better to chat, it's open till 8pm. Usual Costa menu Good Service

I like this one because of the staff, I hardly ever drink coffee or tea, but often go in here for a Cola and an over priced snack, it a good place to people watch

I ordered a medium latte to take out, but when I tasted it I’d actually received a skinny latte (the customer in from of me ordered a skinny latte so that’s where the mix up was from). I got back in line and explained it was a skinny, but I’d not ordered a skinny. The lady happily made me my correct drink, but the manager who made my incorrect drink, spoke about me indirectly to the other member of staff, adamant it was not skinny milk and that I was wrong. He then threw some utensils down in a hissy fit, and as I left he just stared at me. I think he could learn from his members of staff.Get him retrained in customer service.

The manners of the staff in Costa coffee in the Next Store is appalling, me and my wife did not get a please or thank you when we were served, I pulled the waitress up about it, and she thought it was very amusing, then when we sat down the person in charge and the waitress involved made fun of us behind the counter. I did have words with the person in charge before we left. I advise everyone to use the main Costa Coffee in the car park

There are lots of shops at Teeside park and when you need a break the Costa in next is worthwhile pit-stop, far better than the car park one, good staff and quick service with plenty of tables and chairs.

On the way to Whitley Bay and dropped in for coffees. Saw Filter coffee on the menu, the largest being only £1.95 so asked for 2 FILTER COFFEES. The barista replied "oh that's what we call Americano" I assured him that it said Filter Coffee behind him on the menu! Another chap behind the counter said "that's Americano!" I was asked if I wanted black or white. I was charged £5.20 for 2 massimo Americanos !!!! Get your facts right Costa!! GRRR!!

Website said it shut at 9 but we were told it closed at 8.30. staff friendly, lovely open airy environment overlooking Teesside Park. Nice Coffee and toast.

Very busy Costa ideal for shopping respite. Usual good quality coffee and delicious carrot cake. One major drawback is that adjacent toilets have been moved elsewhere in the park. Staff all very good.

Love costa coffee, but the prices are a bit much for the food so don't really eat from here, tables aren't always cleared but it is a nice place to go for a coffee on a shopping Trip

My favourite Costa to visit although I find all costa's to be as welcoming.

Nice Costa inside Next, but tables dirty and full of pots. Such a shame as environment is really nice with colourful seating and overlooking Teesside Park. Toilets are within Next shop and alot cleaner than the Teesside Park ones but staff are not as friendly.

An oasis in the middle of Teesside Retail Park. Always busy but plenty of staff so no long waits. Very nice cortados and excellent carrot cake, what more could you want?

On the whole most Cota Correes I have been in are clean, tidy, mostly accessible and the coffee and tea are lovely. Especially the coffee and there is a lot of different mixtures to try. 2 small complaints. They are a bit pricey but you have to pay for quality. When you order some toast I have noticed recently that they are only toasting one side. Obviously leaving one side as if it had just come out of the wrapper. Ok if you like your toast love ghtly done but I prefer mine well done. It's not cheap either so I do think for what they chagr the staff should ask you how you want your toast done. Taking all this into account I enjoy going to Costa. I find it a nice place to chill out and relax. I would recommend Costa to anyone.

Being on a diet I went in just for coffee, but then I spotted it, gingerbread latte cake, only about 350 calories a slice. I treat myself to a slice with a bucket of Americano and it was good. Nice clean environment and pleasant staff

3 guys behind the serving counter more interested in chatting among themselves than serving or clearing up. The place was not busy. Tables full of cups and glasses from people long departed. Poor show Costa

Great coffee here just a pity it’s such an untidy costa. The cakes are awful, no taste at all. I only come for my cortado.

Visited one at Riverside that doesn't have own entry on here.

My friend and I visit this brach once a week. We love the relaxed atmosphere and the staff are very helpful. We often sit for hours talking. No one asks us to leave. It pure time out.

We always visit here when shopping at Teesside park. It's lovely sitting outside especially in the sunshine. It's a busy coffee house. Staff friendly and always deliver a lovely coffee. Their ginger biscuits are tasty too. Never disappoints.

Good place to stop for coffee and cake while shopping or good place to meet up with friends for coffee and chat.

Pedimos dos lattes delgado descafeinado aquí. Absoluta basura! Era como beber leche caliente. Pedimos la misma bebida cada vez que visite Costa, pero nunca han servido como basura como este. Evitar.

Ok, standard Costa. In the north of the park situated amongst the shopsIt's busy, not much else you can say!

Location inside Next is much nicer than the main Costa on Teesside Park but service was poor. Very slow not friendly like the other store. Got seek of chairs blocking everywhere off for cleaning. Dirty pots everywhere had to ask for table to be cleaned.Had mango cooler, nice refreshing change to coffee

Dropped in for a mid shop brunch having got bored of the M&S cafe. The service was good and efficient and the price was as always competitive with other such cafes. Once again issues with people blocking tables by sitting down whilst their partner joins the end of the queue. For some people who have mobility issues I can accept this but for those with out such issues, please stop doing it !

Called in today and it was very busy. A friendly staff member came straight over and found us a table . We had really tasty toasties and sausage baps at very reasonable prices. Will definately call again .

Always Friendly Helpful StaffHad toast on wholemeal bread which was lovely. Green Tea nice change too.Average rating due to environment, not cosy like other costa's and toilets never very nice

After a bit of shopping dropped in here for a quick brunch and a drink. Costa back to their usual standard - tea and coffee were good as always and the toasties were hot (unlike a previous visit).

Unfortunately there is always a queue as the staff do not seem to be able to keep on top of service, a little further training is needed. I have walked away in the past due to the slow service.

After an initial shop on Teesside Park dropped in here for a tea and coffee and a sandwich. The drinks were as always were excellent and the food decent, My only issue is that people sit down whilst their partner is in the queue so there is a lot of table blocking. Costa - please use a M&S policy or customers please wait till you are close to being served !

We've been here a few times to nip in for drinks while shopping and we always find it to be far too busy and staff cant cope with the demand however yesterdays experience was the worst. At first i asked for a menu for the cold drinks and the girl was reluctant to provide me one, instead insisting i be specific with what i would like and they would make it. Then they made my drink and completely forgot the cappucino we had ordered. We stood around like lemons for a while to give the benefit of the doubt but eventually i had to tell a member of staff who failed to acknowledge their mistake and apologise. Poorly ran establishment with rude staff!

Dropped in for some lunch whilst shopping. The tea and coffee were fine but the toastie my wife had and my panni were both cold. My wife returned hers and money was refunded but Costa need to pull their socks up.

I never been and its been relaxing it is always mad, I do not like busy places but for some reason I do not mind it here.Good staff, ok coffee, nice seating outside. perfect for blokes to escape shopping, you can be left here you will be safe, there are loos so you do not need to wounder off

This is a great place to meet up for people travelling form other directions to be somewhere fairly central between Middlesbrough, Stockton, Billingham and Thornaby. Disabled parking pretty non existent as this is such a popular place - espeecially with the pram brigade. Be prepared to wait a while to be served at lunchtime as they are in full swing at that time - not a place to pop in and out again from in a lunchtime hurry.

Often Visit, sometimes Very busy which I suppose is a good sign :)Nice outdoor seating area, can be overcrowded and noisy inside and sometimes a strong unpleasant smell. I think it may be a detergent used as it's usually when floor signs are up but it's very off putting.That said there's a good choice of coffee and cake. When will these big corporate coffee houses learn to make coffee you can taste? (Oh yes, I forgot, they don't have to!)Costa coffees have as much depth as Katie Price and are only marginally better than Starbucks (face it - nothing could be worse).Find a quieter, more relaxing, less money-oriented establishment that serves coffee worth spending your hard-earned on, and don't ever be tempted to return to a place that doesn't give a damn about you or the coffee they serve you -Wake up and smell the 'proper' coffee.'Nuff said

Very quaint Costa place with amazing friendly staff.Smashing bustling ambience which didn't make me look/feel out of place as a solo customer.Staff worked tirelessly serving customers and keeping tables clean due to an ever present line of happy customers.I am a regular Costa Card customer and usually experience a long delay - which I don't mind- but today the staff here work at a much higher pace- without losing the individual customer care!

Dropped in for lunch with my wife. As always the service was good and efficient. Food was good which is a consistent feature of any Costa I have visited. Best of all, my wife got a few more points towards a free lunch!

The coffee in Costa has been getting gradual worse and on this visit it was disgusting.Weak tasting, super hot watery liquid. Not impressed. Staff unhelpful when you try to complain. Will not be going back here.

Popped in for lunch whilst we were shopping. Service was excellent and the food was as good as always - one of the best Earl Grey tea from this kind of venue. Wife racked up a few points on her Costa card which is a bonus.

Meet a friend here for coffee yesterday. Always great coffee with good choice. Staff friendly and place always busy. Good free parking and a walk round shops and then back for another coffee before heading home.

No sé si se puede decir el nombre de la competencia directa y que todos pensamos, pero yo prefiero los Costa. En concreto el de esta ciudad nos vino de perlas porque empezó a caer una tromba de agua increible y dos dependientas fueron super amables y nos dieron como unas toallas para secarnos. El café siempre está riquísimo. Yo suelo pedir Capuccinos tamaño cubo. Lo único es que evidentemente, el precio es elevado, por el lugar y porque es UK.

Popped over to Teesside Park for some shopping but had to have a cup of tea and a bite before we started. Costa was again consistently good and have changed some of the sandwiches and toasties - definitely needed a bit of a refresh. Good value for money compared to M&S.

This is a stand-alone unit in the middle of the main car park at Teeside Park. It always seems to be just no matter what time of day you visit. The service is efficient and friendly and the coffee as good as ever. You may have to tone it right to get a seat though.

After running around Teesside looking for bathroom tiles, we were in need of a quick bit so we popped in here. As always the food is consistent and the earl grey tea is one of the best I have had in many a year.

Always drop in for a coffee when visiting this retail park. Good variety of coffee and friendly service.

I am a regular Costa visitor, 2 or 3 times a week. But this was first time in Stockton. Three people behind counter and not one clear table. First time I have had the tea cake arrive before my latte! No napkin under tea cake or on my saucer. Little disappointed. Watched the staff and was plenty of opportunity to clear tables inbetween their conversations!

Meet friends here yesterday morning for coffee before we started shopping. Always a good latte and good service. The only down side was table could have done with a wipe before we sat down but was busy.

The queue may occasionally look long but no worry, such a good blend of staff no matter what shift early morning or evening to keep things moving quickly. The coffee not bad either - everytime, never a doubt that's it's going to be anything but nice and hot the 'English way'. Still competitively priced so just keep it going Costa. Lovely sitting area outside is a delight as well especially when sunny.

I have just written a bad review of m&s cafe so thought I'd balance it with a good review. Love this Costa always busy but staff are excellent really quick helpful and efficient. can't fault it.

Fed up of M&S lack of change so hit Costa for the last two months. Very good so far - food is tasty and the earl grey tea actually tasty unlike many other places. Food is also good and is served hot ! My only issue (not Coasta's fault) is people walking in and one person queuing and their partner taking a table which they will actually not use for eating food or drinking for at least ten minutes. Table blocking really annoys me !

A great coffee and cake for the kids . Lots of variety of cakes and lovely accommodating staff. If you want to indulge in a large coffee there is a play park outside for the kids. There is inside and outside seating. The cake and coffee is five stars the reason for four stars was the wait to be served. Be warned coffee to go would be very slow!

This new Costa in Norton village is quite nice I only had toast and preserve but the bread was lovely.There was a nice sitting area out the back and to be honest was quite busy considering there are quite a few cafe's in Norton the only downside for me was not enough staff but would go again.

It is always a pleasure to visit this Costa. The product is excellent, the staff are very attentive and efficient. The place is always clean and tidy - even though it is very busy. One of Costa's best.

Went in and there was a large queue with only one person serving when we got to the front of the queue we were told that it was takeaway cups onlyThis is not what you expect from Costa

A Costa Coffee place is a Costa Coffee place wherever you go - but what made their Teesside Park place so much different from the rest when I went there tonight were the staff - particularly the one who had 'Amy' on her name tag - so I assume she is called Amy!! They were very busy when I arrived, but they worked flat out to keep the queue moving - Amy in particular was outstanding. When I left, they even had time to engage in conversation and some light-hearted banter. Makes you want to go again!

Well this Costa is usually packed! Sometimes quite hard to find a seat inside but me and my dad were quite lucky to find one today! The staff and service was excellent, the food was delicious! Also they're getting quite festive which always improves the atmosphere at this time of year!I visit more or less every time I visit this retail park and I've never been disappointed. :)

Cannot fault Costa Coffee really. Limited menu choices but what they have, is lovely. Often visit here when out shopping on my own, with friends or family.

I have never been in a Costa that is always so full. Whenever you enter there is always at least 10 people queing, even though there are at least 4 staff serving. It is the regular Costa fare and the staff are really helpful, a couple of characters amongs them.

Following a visit to several of the major shops on the retail park we called into Costa's. The location is good and it was very pleasant to sit outside drinking great lattes and eating muffins. The food and coffees were excellent, and coupled with good, friendly service this was a pleasant experience. One of the better Costa establishments in my opinion.

Amazing coffee and absolutely brilliant staff, but extremely busy 24/7. I recommend visiting highly but be prepared for a small wait once inside.

I only tend to visit this costas if there is an outdoor table as inside is always so so busy and with a pram I can't usually find a table to fit me and my two kids, but I love to sit outside on a nice day and dry happy that I recently saw a breast feeding friendly sticker in window :)

Very nice staff are very friendly and coffee is to the highest stardard , we also have the cheese and mushroom toasty they are yummy and always done fast :) layout has just been 're done so all new and smart.Only thing is tables could be cleaned more often :)

I cannot fault this place - the staff are so friendly and nothing is a problem. But marmite on toast beats everything

Costa generally are some of my favourite establishments. This one is no different. It is constantly busy because of it's prime location but serving times are good, service generally is good, and the coffee is excellent.I think as a brand they should explore tea more as it grows in popularity in it's vast varieties but as your average coffee house goes this is a winner. Food offerings are average, I would never choose it for lunch, but snacks are fine, and sweet offerings are good.Love it.
