Costa Coffee in North Tyneside

We both had a latte and cakes, different to each other, coffee was well made, the cakes were fresh and delicious. It's true that the staff are under pressure, lots of customers, few staff, but they were all working hard, the two who I had direct contact with were friendly, smiley and did a good job. All Costas have problems but this Whitley Bay branch is worth 4 🌟

Waited while the assistant finished off making a coffee and then took a toasted sandwich out of the grill and plated it up Got a tray and put these items in Totally ignoring me waiting to pay for a bottle of water I didn’t want him to stop just to serve me, but an acknowledgment would have been polite. He only spoke when another assistant came to the serving counter and asked if I was being served. Quite rude service.

My wife burned her lip and mouth because the drink was extensively sweltering and boiling hot and the toilets were disgusting and my wife felt like she was being filmed and the customer service is not bad because her loved one keeps fainting and they don’t help at all

Fantastic friendly staff every time I visit! Sam always lovely and friendly and always remembers my order and nothing is ever an issue. The girls are always lovely and friendly to, can’t stress enough how warming this place is to visit!

Use Costa regularly across the country and food and drink usually very good as this was however the single toilet was disgusting and not because someone had previously left it like that but because the staff don’t know how to clean. The tiles and sink were filthy and the bottom of the door frame was black. There were 4 staff and they were not busy so no excuse for it. If it’s part of a chain then maybe someone from head office should visit yuk!

I am both angry and sad about what is occurring at Costa, Whitley Bay. Once one of the town's finest catering establishments ,where a superb experience was guaranteed, Costa is becoming a place to grab a coffee, gobble some food and leave. Yet, the coffee is superb and the food is first rate and so, why the three rating. Well, it is the atmosphere.. Once the staff were friendly, professional, happy and extremely welcoming, with the time to welcome their customers with a quick quip and a word or two of chat. However, over the last two weeks that is all changing. The staff numbers are minimal and the workload is immense. Staff are looking tired and fatigued and many of the regular customers seem few and far removed. And, as you might have guessed, I am a regular customer.

Stopped off here for a drink and a cake having arrived in Whitley Bay for a few days break. The manager who took our order was great, very friendly. What you'd call "service with a smile". The lady making drinks was the complete opposite which was a bit of a dampener on our visit. The cake and drinks were very nice so overall a good experience

Nice place to have a break especially after a heavy shopping session. We have called in for a few stops in there recently and always felt that the staff were very welcoming and pleasant, never felt otherwise. The service is always very good. The hot drinks, especially the hot chocolate is nice. They serve a multiple variety of hot and cold drinks, spoiled for choice. A selection of cakes and sandwiches are available. Great choice too. Limited seating inside and outside but a table can always be found as the staff are always busy tidying the table to ensure they can offer clients a clean table. Clean and tidy environment, buzzing but pleasant.

Visited today with a friend. Staff were miserable and grumpy. I ordered a piece of banana liaf whichwas the dryest thing on earth. Exchanged it for a second piece which was the same. One of the staff tried to say it was supposed to be like that. Clearly they have no idea about cake. Wont be back.

recently visited and ordered take out drinks. 5 minutes later my daughter accidentally dropped hers so we went back to the shop to get another, the barista jokingly asked if she had drunk it already as he must have remembered us, when we said she had dropped it he made her another free of charge! What a kind gesture, he didn't have to do it, It restored my faith in kindness from others!

I went to Costa for a hot chocolate and I was expecting the usual costa experience, which I was totally wrong in doing so! This was by far the best time that I’ve had at costa, thanks to the staff! The staff were friendly and very helpful with a smile after every word! The girl with the dark hair , I didn’t catch her name was especially smiley. There are plenty of tables although it is always busy, the staff are fast paced to ensure that all of their customers are happy! I will definitely be returning soon. I would strongly recommend visiting.

I visit Costa at least once a week week and I have to say the coffee is getting worse... I usually have a macchiato, which has been taken off the menu, but on average it takes 3 attempts to make one... Always too much milk... I find that independent coffee houses have better coffee locally

Walked in a female member of Staff served me never even made eye contact gave her a twenty pound note replied again no interaction I need smaller change I replied I have none so she tuts The male member puts the worst Latte I ve ever seen on the saucer and she literally chucked the spoon on the saucer. To even make things worse I sat down on table the tables in there rock all over the place Latte everywhere guy on next table says dames just happened to me. Take note beware of wearing your Latte tables all rock

On average, l have been visiting Costa Coffee at least twice a week for the last six or seven months. The customer service is brilliant, creating an atmosphere that is second to none. I regard the staff as my friends.

Visited this coffee shop after feeling unwell on the bus to find Tescos. (shut down). I was served by Sam who was polite, friendly and courteous. He also gave me some water as requested. I could not carry my tray so I was just sitting down when Stacey brought my tray over. I commented how quick it was. Food lovely. Well worth the money. You get two cups in a pot of tea which is hard to find these days. Sam and Stacey were the perfect hosts. Lovely location.

I have to say I'm a regular! Staff are lovely so welcoming and if they know your face if it's not too busy they have your order ready. Fantastic customer service

Always great coffee well made, and the staff in WB are all excellent. Had many work meetings here as the ambience is not to frantic, and there are nice places to be for an hour or more. Great !

Friendly staff, great hot chocolate, good for a break during shopping or to visit with friends and relax.

Esto era simplemente como cualquier otra Costa. Muy concurrida y es muy pequeña, pero el personal era muy amable y rápido. Las bebidas estaban bien. Lugar estaba limpio

Regular visitors to Costa when in Whitley Bay. The coffee and particularly the cappuccino is excellent and the almond croissants are very tempting. Well trained and efficient staff although the tables could be cleared a little more often.

Well what can I say about the food and drink? A Costa is a Costa, end ofAll the same as the other shops but the feeling in here is cosy

I have to say I am a regular here, I love Costa Coffee and it's just what you need when you are out doing your shopping. I think the coffee is lovely here and they have some great sweet treats on offer too. The staff are always friendly too.

Quick ,efficient service. Good quality products ,can't comment on price as I didn't pay , someone else did. The only downside -only one toilet, maybe not sufficient at busy times

When I bought two coffees in costa earlier this week I handed over £10, but I only given 15p change instead of £5.15. The staff said they needed to check the till before returning the £5. The manager rang to apologise for the error and because I don't live nearby agreed to leave £5 at my local costa and offered me a free drink. Fab service, thank you!

Something about the coffee which makes me think costa will overtake Starbucks ,nice choice of snacks,staff always willing to help,keep it up

Located in the Park View shopping centre, the Costa Coffee is always busy but the service and coffees are fine. Nearby is the Thornton's Coffee shop which also makes a pleasant stop. Only problem is that the shops are not fantastic!
