Costa Coffee in Harrogate

Three staff on. Prioritising drive thru and not indoor. Second in the queue and I left after waiting 15 minutes with no service. The guy infront also waiting. Wasn’t even sure what they were doing apart from avoiding eye contact with the growing queue. No apology for delay, nothing. Zero customer service. Greggs - in and out in 3 minutes. Cheers.

Always friendly and very accommodating. Major problem finding staff so erratic opening and closing times. Don't update this on website so can easily drive out there to find it closed. Should be updated regularly. However, the staff they do have when open are lovely and costa overall is a good experience.

Opening hours say 6:00am, called in this morning just before 7:00am and closed. Two members of staff behind the counter just looked down and pretended not to see me when I walked towards the door, no thoughts of apologising for being closed. Very poor, if you're opening hours are wrong amend them.

This place makes up their opening times so don’t bother. The cafe is closed and it’s drive through only the times we’ve walked down from Pannal. Weetons on the same road is better.

Yeah like coming in here wether it's drive thru or to sit in the cafe area...nice location, with plenty of parking...staff are very attentive and friendly.. Good prices and wide selection of choice

The main issue with this Costa drive thru is closing time. It says 7pm but often it’s closed at 5.15pm or 5.30pm. Doesn’t seem to be any consistency and is quite irritating especially for those who check the opening times online.

Drove there for a coffee at 11:30am on a Monday and it’s closed. Waste of time going there.

I wanted a quick coffee so thought I’d use the drive through. However this was chained off so I parked and went inside. The young gentleman who took my order was polite and helpful. However, it was only after paying I noticed how many people were already waiting including some who were seated. The girl acting as barista was slow and getting orders wrong. Another girl was just stood watching so presumably training. Another man then appeared from the back (possibly a manager) and began to assist with making coffees. Fortunately he was quicker and did apologise, but overall it took almost 20 minutes. If I’d realised beforehand I’d not have placed the order. Coffee was good though!

I use Costa all around Yorkshire and always have great coffee and very good service. However this particular branch is my closest full service shop, however they are so unreliable at opening hours or if you can actually sit inside, it’s not a one off over the past few months I’ve had , closed, partial open, drive through only and tonight closed early. I guess staffing problems! If your in need of a coffee or dare to plan to meet a client I would be very cautious. The franchisee MUST be aware of this but more so Costa as a company must be aware? Maybe Costa hold this franchise themselves? That would be atrocious management as I’m sure Costa could definitely meet be staff around to keep their store open as listed? Get your act together guys

Bad customer service skills in here today, ordered two drinks, got offered no glasses or ice, I asked at the end don't you get offered glasses here with your drinks. She said I assumed you were taking away. I said it would be nice to be asked. Who are costa employing now a days lol

Visited the Pannal Costa on Sunday for a hangover cure :/ I tried the salted caramel fapé with coffee added and it was absolutely amazing, really enjoyed it. I chose a breakfast wrap that my server Olivia cooked to perfection and it sorted me right out.

I appreciate that it's sometimes hard to get people in, but that's three times I have been on a Sunday morning to find the door locked, and a note saying drive through only due to a lack of staff. I don't have a car, and apparently can't get a coffee walking through the drive in lane. Disappointing.

Just got a large larta was given a regular when told orderd large thay had just transferred it to a large cup and added what ever to it instead of doing a fresh one and also was 2 shots definitely not way stronger relized thiss after driving away by then its to late £4.20 down the drain thay need to train there staff better won't be using again

The service is here is extremely poor the staff are rude and the manager has a problem smiling or being helpful I think she was called lizy very rude !! Won’t go back again ! pretty bad the drive thru staff girl was rude too! Very slow Needs major improvement on the customer service and cleanliness and positive behaviours!

No stars when using the app, have used the app twice to order and both times have been incorrect, including paying for items that I never actually received. Currently in the middle of a dispute with Costa over this with my money being taken for an order I never received due to items out of stock. What should have been a simple cancel of the order and my pending payment returned straight to my bank never happened and now taking up a lot of my time to try and sort it out which makes any potential time saved using the app wasted, DO NOT USE THE COSTA APP!! Go in and order at least you know what is in stock BEFORE they take your money! The ladies in store are fantastic and the coffee is great just a shame the boy who failed to process the cancellation of the order and the app not showing live stock detail lets the app down....back to the drawing board Costa!

Always superb. They make the drinks just how I ask them to and always with a smile. Efficient and speedy and willing to help.

Service doesn't come with smile Tables were dirty. Asked to be cleaned, but bit a gruff reply, yea, I'll do it in a minute, then came over and wiped a bit of the table leaving half the crumbs on it, clearly Hates her job, very rude.

Small seating area, probably more geared to drive through. Speed of service was slow given the few people inside. Coffee and cakes up to the usual high standard of Costa though

Under previous management 5 star with great flat whites. Now zero stars for service - staff who don't clean tables, customers having to clear tables to the service counter, shelf filling with discarded packaging obstructing customer access at peak times. Ponderous and disinterested counter service. Avoid until good management returns.

May be a huge chain but staff here friendly and pleasant every time.

Costa is my favourite chain but found the staff in this one unfriendly.

Staff are so rude here. The woman serving made a really milky latte instead of cappuccino. When she was told it was the wrong drink she passed it to her colleague, this girl then took the cup and banged around like am overgrown toddler whilst making a new drink. When I confronted them the one with the attitude disappeared, the other came and refused to give a name when asked (although names are on the name badge ). Millie and Sophie. I have made a complaint about the pair of you. Disgusting behaviour.

Love this coffee shop. It’s so handy, especially when driving. My girls love the toasties and frappes. All the staff are super friendly. Saad makes especially good coffee (flat white) and he is such a smiley friendly face there. I would highly recommend to anyone. Rachel

Stopped off for a coffee whilst visiting family in Harrogate and was served by a fantastic guy. Had a great chat discussing Nidderdale. We wish him and his team all the best and thanks once again for such great service 😊 Btw, on Google it says the cafe is permanently closed, which is not correct.

Breakfast on a Sunday morning 11/12/2022. Although there were a few drive through orders and one take away, we had the café to ourselves. Service wasn't overly friendly - it felt like the lady serving us was going through the motions. Our bacon rolls were slightly overdone, just shy of being burned, and I had to prompt for ketchup. The man serving the drive through did seem friendlier to the customers in their cars while I was waiting, although at times to the point of overfamiliarity, which caused him to forget a simple order and have to ask again. My daughter had stopped in the previous night for a coffee while waiting for her train. She had missed the earlier one by minutes and was on her own in the cold and dark. Although an hour away from closing, she was the only customer in the café and was made to feel unwelcome and felt she had to rush her drink and biscuits. Would visit again for convenience only. Paying customers shouldn't be made to feel unwelcome.

In store part NEVER open. You have to be in a car to get coffee.

Staff rude and you dont get what you order

Normally, this location is good at making coffee/taking orders, but today, there was no queue, I ordered a latte with an extra shot, and I got given warm milk. Didn't realise until later, but now I am tired and annoyed, as I was charged for my original order. There must be new staff, however, the communication clearly needs to be improved.

Major problems with not being able to charge devices while there as all but one wall plug didn't work!!! The reason I went here. Disappointed with this. Staff great drink great too. Please fix the plugs. Thanks

Last twice I have visited it has been drive through only due to staff shortage. Paper cups not ideal and the coffee not as good as when served in a proper cup

The staff here are great. I visit at least 4 times a week and they are friendly and very efficient. They are just let down by the supply chain of food to the shop. It seems they get a limited number of cakes delivered even though I'm told there is a higher demand.

WARNING. Cycled here for an early coffee several times and it is very often closed to sit-in customers due to ‘staff shortages’. Don’t rely on it if you want a sit-in coffee.

Great shop, am a regular there. Only problem is at times it will be drive through only. Having to walk there only to be told no is: no me gusta. I know it's not their fault (Because of staff shortages) but i really like sitting in for a hour or 2

Hardly ever open past 5pm, and HQ/ customer service won't even respond to your email when complaining about it. Looking at other reviews it's been this way for 6 months+ now. If you're gonna close early at least update your website so your customers know...

Very RASIST. When we came in there today 2022.03.13 around 10.09h we saw few english people inside drinking coffe and also saw english man on the till ordering drink after we saw this thought that we can order take away as well, when I asked blond old lady who was making drink for the guy she ignored me and didnt tell me anything, after some time when man left with his drink I asked nicely again if we can order drinks and the lady was angry for no reason for this question and said we cant order here, we just wanted some coffe as we saw few people sitting on the table as well, guess foreigners are not welcome there, DO NOT RECCOMEND. Dont know what has to happen in life to be sad and angry person like that lady.

Usual costa coffee but with a fantastic crew of staff.

Poor on this occasion. Lad took payment and walked away, his colleague came to the window a minute later and apologised - my coffee was just sat there, waiting, going cold.

Closed despite claiming open online

Asked for some boiling water for my 7 month old grandsons bottle and got eyes rolled like I was asking for the world. Never have I ever experienced such appalling bad customer service! NEVER, WILL I EVER GO AGAIN!!!

Clean good service with a smile

Good drive through and take out facilities. Friendly staff. Only problem for me is people buy drinks etc then sit outside running there engines needlessly. Perhaps some signs requesting they switch off rather than pollute this lovely area would be a benefit.

Staff need training, twice in a week drive to get a coffee, appeared open. But soon as got to the front of the drive thru a chain showed it was closed and a small sign on the window staring about supply shortages, with 3 members of staff inside, one sat on area doing nothing and yet more cars coming in thinking the same as me. Not one brain among them to place a sign on the top of the ramp to stare it was closed as this would prevent others from having to turn around in the car park to get out again! Costa please train your staff!!

Always locked up , staff used excuse that someone had covid so not letting anyone in, been like that for over a month,not how you expect a costa to be as others are coping well

I have been coming here for months and have never had a problem, however recently, due to staff shortages, they have closed their cafe and only allow drive-thrus. Some of us don't have a car and a note on the window is a bit useless after having walked there already! I'm very dissapointed and probably won't be returning.

Is this Costa ever actually open? Business hours are never updated to say it is closed and it has seemingly been closed more than open in the last 6 months. I know COVID can cause issues, but come on. All other Costa’s seen to be managing perfectly fine. Avoid

My husband and I go quite a lot to Costa Coffee at Pannel Harrogate , the staff are brilliant they are always welcoming ,and nothing is too much for trouble for them . Luke who works there is a really fantastic employee of Costa Coffee as all the staff are.😊

Looked on google to see that this Costa was open till 7pm so I travelled half hour to find they decided to close at 5pm with staff still in the building. Obviously you need to update your google opening times. Waste of petrol.

I’m backing Jack Sykes with this review, having a sign in the shop window is a bit late when people have travelled, I would of thought there would have been ways around this as costa is a chain, it’s annoying for customers…at least there’s Starbucks.

Excellent, the young man serving is always courteous, and very polite. He is a credit to Costas. Thank you x I have called again today, 8th July, to get my hot chocolate fix. Drinks are lovely but there is always a que and it's very slow service and therefore slowly moving que! Staff are lovely though!

As a walk-up customer, I had a mixed experience today. Inside seating was very limited as Costa takes Covid security very seriously. Outside seating also very limited, leading to me being taken to a table without cover in a cold, wet and windy spot. Luckily, staff member looked after me and spotted a table becoming free inside and installed me there. All was well in the end, but it was a close run thing.
