Costa Coffee in Portsmouth

Very clean, very friendly service - especially from the gentleman who took the first half of my order. I ordered a chocolate brownie frappe with no coffee and it was make quickly to perfection. Brilliant blend of consistency and efficiency. I decided whilst waiting to order a cheese and roasted tomato toastie, which was then heated by the same gentleman who served it quickly but it was positioned very nicely, the presentation was beautiful. It was perfectly toasted and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Best Costa experience I've ever had - will definitely go here more often rather than my two more local stores. (As you can tell from my photo, I enjoyed the toastie a lot... 😂) *Edit Just checked my receipt and found the staff member's name. Brilliant service by Chris 😊😊

Staff was friendly and shop was clean but the big problem with Costa is coffee quality. The coffee quality is very low compared to other brands. Another issue is coffee cups, they don’t have specific cup for flat white and they use same amount of milk that they use for regular cappuccino for flat white!!!!

Hi I went into the North end shop today and ordered food. I asked if she didn’t mind clearing the table we sat at and her face was a picture. She looked fuming. So it’s ok to take my money for your company and I don’t expect to sit on a dirty table with a ashtray and used cups. It wasn’t busy. I would like the email for the CEO for this company please as terrible customer service

Today, in this slightly rainy weather, my wife and I decided to have coffee, the first time in this establishment in this city, at first everything went well, my wife decided to sit near the window overlooking the road and the floors were washed there and then suddenly the employee who washed them started breathe deeply and tell the whole room that my wife cannot sit there because the floors were washed there, and the second employee who was serving me at that moment reacted immediately, ran out of his cash register and began to tell my wife that she could not sit there, since the floors were washed, after which they offered to sit in any other place where the floors had not been washed, after that they prepared my coffee for me and we sat down at a table, after a couple of minutes other clients come in and sit in the place where my wife originally wanted to sit (about windows overlooking the road) this situation really ruined our day and we were left with bad impressions about this establishment. But they could, from the beginning, simply come up and ask to move to another empty seat, but that’s all, please be a little more polite. I definitely won’t go to this establishment again. Thank you

I get my coffee here almost every day and the staff are always so lovely, helpful and make my coffee perfectly every time. My favourite costa in Portsmouth

I ordered a salted caramel frappé, I asked the lady who was serving if I could have the cream added to the blender so it's all mixed together rather than the cream added on top (it puts me off having the cream separate from the liquid. She looked at another member of staff, seemed to be the manager, for some kind of approval (she seems new, never seen her before). She just twisted her face in an unpleasant way, as if I came from Planet mars. Shame really because usually the staff in all the Costa shops are super friendly and are more than happy to make the drink to my specification.

Usual standard here but one of the better places in North end

Kind helpful staff once in door. Coffee a little too strong for me but extra milk and water given on request. Tiffin was lovely! Pleasant people around who were friendly and pleasant.

Came in here high as the sky the other morning and customer service was amazing, everybody in here was so friendly and so cheerful, it was like sitting in my front room, the girl had a nice smile and the ginger dude in the specs who served me (Kinky) is a legend, such a friendly bloke, I’ll deffo come again.

Really friendly staff and good beverages. A small location considering it's situation, but some surprisingly peaceful seating options available.

Employee named Max was very rude and quite cold to us. However was very nice and courtes to the English people who came in behind us. Usually quite happy with the service here as it’s our local branch. Never experience this before here and it’s the first time someone made us feel out of place.

A big fan of Costas throughout Portsmouth mostly northend the guys are really look after you and leaves you alone I'm a artist so I'm always doodlen there really helpful

Very clean and good food and coffee.

Spacious on the inside and a lovely places to sit on the outside with a calming view. Excellent customer service...and absolutely tasty coffee. Oh and they have free WiFi too☺️

Felt welcome to this branch of f Costa, North End. Had a delicious 😋 Christmas lunch. Tables were cleared and cleaned when customers left. Will go there again when in North End.

I can't really put in to words how amazing the staff at this costa store are they are so helpful they put a smile on my face as soon as I walk through the door they go above and beyond for all there customers the coffee is the best I have had from any costa store in Portsmouth thanks to Claire Martha Tom and Lee

Normally a nice place to go. Yesterday it's was an unpleasant place. A member of staff getting annoyed with customers who were more than 1 metre apart (tier one - extra precautions face mask/increased ventilation (door was open) but not on the special floor spots that were in place from the old 2 meter rule! Lack of staff awareness of the rules or non updated company policy - unsure. There was a child - who was either a member of staffs or who knew the child - allowed the child to get within centimetres of customers food that was on the counter, and breathe all over it - then allowed the child to go behind the counter - which given all the electrical appliances and hot water etc surly is a major breach of heath and safety, and general disregard for child safety. The service by the 2 members of staff on duty was the slowest I've seen it in this branch. The Costa experience is normally to a good and high level, however yesterday afternoon in this branch, this was not the case.

When there's a queue of customers you'd think the second member of staff would help, instead they were sat down letting the other staff member to rush around by themselves.

Friendly staff gave me advice about an offer they had which I thought was great seeing as they were quite busy. I bought a large Costa thermos flask for £7.50 and was able to choose any hot medium drink for free. They said each time I visit any Costa cafe in future, I could have any hot drink I like with 25p off as long as I bring and show them the thermos! Had been meaning to buy one just for personal use so was pretty pleased about this! Looking forward to going again one day

Excellent coffee shop. The only thing to improve is the doors aren't automatic and can be difficult to open with a wheelchair. Otherwise a lovely coffee shop.

Drank a delicious latte and cake at the London Road Costa this afternoon. Impressed! Polite staff and friendly atmosphere. Had l seen a 'tip box' l would have tipped. CLEAN AND TIDY. PUBLIC TOILET CLEAN. Well done Costa Portsmouth keep up the good work.

The staff here are friendly and passionate! The coffee is Costa which is pretty good. The friendly staff make up for the fact it's a slightly overpriced chain. Welcome addition to North End!

Even though they were getting read to close the staff welcomed myself my daughter and granddaughter in from the rain, and the gingerbread and caramel cake was the best ,.

Always friendly and staff working as fast as they can. Not the cheapest coffee in the area, but you get what you pay for, so it's not bad for a chain.
