Costa Coffee in Newcastle upon Tyne

Do not buy their chai latte - it was giving me and my husband an upset stomach and diarrhoea.

Coffee was bitter. When I'm paying over £4 for an Americano, I want it rich and smooth. Staff were nice.

Just managed to sneak in for a hot chocolate after the match and before my train.

What you expect from a Costa, as usual really polite and efficient staff

The friendliest staff , always happy to help . Plus the coffee shop is always clean and tidy.

Clean and spacious. Staff are friendly but they never have a full menu in stock! I go there several times a week to see if they have a New York bagel or egg muffin and they never do!

I have visited many Costa Coffee sites across the UK and I can honestly say that this definitely one of the best in terms of the quality of the drinks and friendliness of the staff. 10 out of 10.

A bit pricey but then it is a coffee shop. Staff were really friendly, there's toilets & WiFi and they're conveniently located only a short walk from where I get my car's aircon done, meaning I can get a coffee whilst waiting.

I ordered 4 items to which the original delivery time changed several times and was approximately an hour later from ordering for a 2 minute drive for a delivery. Not all items were there and we ended up coming down and getting it ourselves. Not the greatest as this is happening more and more often

I love coming in here especially Friday and Saturday,always friendly and great service. Only one criticism they keep putting the prices up.I used to come in everyday but unfortunately down to twice a week now. 5 star for service but not for price.

Whenever I order from here my order never arrives and the driver just disappears and make it seem as if it was delivered. It was at least the 4th time it happened,do not order from them ever worst experience always...

Don't ever order for delivery from here. If you're lucky your delivery will come after a minimum of 2 hours and will be ice cold. If you're not lucky, your delivery will never come but show as delivered as it happened to me many times. I should have learned my lesson after the first time, but I was hoping it was an isolated incident. Turns our it wasn't, it's an everyday thing for them.

Came today for a maple latte and it was served in a paper cup, when I was sitting in and other customers had their drinks in proper cups, there was no sprinkles on my maple latte and cream was squashed due to plastic lid, obviously can't be bothered to wash up another cup absolute disgrace and very lazy attitude to customers, it does not taste the same in a paper cup and staff were putting chairs on tables at 4.30 when the coffee shop is open till 5.00. Disgraceful......

Over an hour late and arrived cold

It's a Costa, Cost's lots of money however your always guaranteed good coffee. This particular site has a a parking restriction of 90mins that isn't easy to see, I was stung for £60 for over staying.

I sent the driver back, food was cold and was nearly 2 hours late. I want a refund

I love this Costa, mainly for the lovely staff. They are all lovely. So welcoming. And they make my coffee perfectly every time.

Arrived late. Wanted Terrys Hot Chocolate with Cream and Marshmellows. Received a plain hot chocolate with no extras. No apology no nothing!

Order all correct but hot panini was stone cold and chewy by the time it arrived and icy shake was defrosting. Arrived 35 mins later than earliest estimate and 15 mins later than latest estimate. We only live a short distance away (but were unable to collect ourselves). Disappointed.

The food was cold and the order was wrong they give us the wrong coffee.and the food was cold.

Genuinely one of the nicest Costas I've been in. Lovely and clean and on the few times I've visited all of your staff are very pleasant and welcoming.

Food was hot, drinks were nice. Delivery driver needs to be careful when transporting the drinks, was swinging them round a bit and a bit spilled in the bag. Other than that it was all good.

Fairly quiet so ordered service was great. Had the choice of seats and enjoyed my toasties and latte. Toilets were clean, single unit so mixed use. I walked in but plenty of parking but a 90 minutes time limit. Plenty really.

Nice and clean inside, accessible outside. Every member of staff that has served us have been nice, friendly and helpful. We regularly use this store for all the reasons above. An example of why Costa coffee is so popular

Lovely and quiet for studying during a week day and for drinks but I don't recommend the vegan rolls, it was burnt to a crisp, there was barely anything in it and it was like eating a rock 🙃 not worth the money!

5 stars for the lovely lunch, I had with my daughter at Costa! Minus a few stars for the price - bloody expensive!

I can’t believe that all café shops or and fast food restaurants are not able to do an order properly no straw no proper update of what they have in is no point to order anything because u never receive your order with all food u asked for… it’s so disrespectful

Normally it’s ok but today not so much. The flake I ordered was loose and in with the toasties. Thankfully it didn’t melt because it was in with the food which was cold on arrival. We discovered this when I opened up the packaging and it fell onto the floor - so the dog saw more of it than my daughter did. Being a 40+ woman my reflexes are not what they used to be. The cheese and ham toastie which was cold, was sent whole and made it difficult to cut in half. I could swear the knife was screaming as I tried to saw through the crust. My chicken fajita wrap was ok despite all the filling being at only one end, so the first few mouthfuls were of dry toasted bread - good job I had a coffee to wash it down with. Not the fault of the people in the shop. Speaking of which, my latte and the hot chocolate I also ordered were well packaged, and still warm despite the delivery being late by 30 minutes. We’ll try them again as it is half term and probably busier than normal. Plus everyone is entitled to their off-days.

Very slow service and can only park for an hour and half. Not long enough to catch up with friends.

The crisps were stale unfortunately but the lemon muffin was outstanding! No delivery QR code again so unable to add coffee purchase to my app :-(

Ordered at 11.30am my order arrived at 13.35 pm tried to call no answer, no option to cancel as it was just saying driver assigned for two hours. Refund requested for poor service and cold food and coffee

We ordered this at 9:58 it turned up at 11:15 and was stone cold. We didn’t eat any of it as the coffee was colder than my glass of water and the toastie was harder than a brick. Vile I am fuming.

Brownie was missing. Had to get a refund and reorder just the brownie, paying delivery fee twice.

Hi. I ordered two hot chocolates and two cheese and tomato toasties but I only received one toastie and one hot chocolate. I paid for 4 items and only got two. Could I please get a refund.

Quite slow They had 3 staff on tills/making coffee and 2 app orders I was 2nd in queue and waited 15 mins for 2 lattes. They were polite but one of the batista was busy making a drink for herself and forgot one of mine :(. Luckily I wasn't in a rush and had parking but could have been better.

Costa is ok but I find that the coffee is never strong enough even with extra shot of coffee in it, visited the one in ebbsfleet got extra shot had to get a double espresso to put in the skinny latte for some flavour, it might just be me but don't have this problem in other coffee houses.

Really disappointed. They seemed focussed on Uber/deliveroo orders at the expense of in store customers. Ordered two flat whites and bacon rolls, the rolls were done, but then waited 15 minutes for the coffee along with a queue of people that had been served but waiting for their orders while order after order was done to Uber/deliveroo. The barista was now clearly rushing and confused,making ours as take away and then having realised redid them for drink in. Had she asked I would have just taken the takeaway cups as this then held things up even more. By the time we sat down with our coffee the food was cold. I've been to other Costas that do Uber/deliveroo and never had this.

All the staffs are very polite, friendly and helpful.

Very nice place-eat in. Service is prompt and staff are very nice. Tables are set so distancing between tables Door always open for fresh air Just need to have more variety of food. Love their cold drinks.

I would definitely order with Costa Coffee Ebbsfleet again.

After an online chat about why our order was placed at 3.18pm and then at 4.50pm we were still waiting for a driver to be dispatched I was assured that if the store closed before the order could be delivered we’d receive a refund. At 5pm, when the store closed, our order status changed to delivered. It hasn’t been.

Gave me the wrong order and when I tried calling to get the problem fixed they wouldn't answer the phone

I have been to other Costa coffee places. This one has just opened. We were at team valley so decided to have a coffee. We went in and some of the tables had dirty dishes on. It seem to take the staff a long time to clear them. Also under the table their was food on the floor think it could have been cleaned up. Any way the coffee we had was very nice. Would we go again - yes (hopefully the place will be more cleaner).
