Costa Coffee in Birmingham

I used to come here every Friday to get work done, but about a year ago I noticed a shift in attitude amongst staff. Only way to describe it is the "cba" attitude. I returned yesterday with my 4 year old, and two things happened. It was clear we were sitting in and despite that everything was put in to-go cups and bags and put on a tray and brought over to us. When I stated we were sitting in the man took my drink back, had it sent over in a cup by an odean staff member. I later went up to ask for some water and you would think I cussed out his mother the way he rolled his eyes and had another staff member get me the water. You would think he wasn't there to work. Second thing, the babychino was pipping hot, my daughter burnt her mouth and tongue on the drink. I didn't check it beforehand because it's obviously for a child and when I went to drink it after her to check, I was mad. It was hotter than my coffee. Date of attendance 31st May 2022.

Basura absoluta, tres empleados detrás del mostrador, pero esperaron años para ser atendidos. Cuando finalmente tomamos nuestras bebidas (4 en total), la mitad de ellas estaban equivocadas. Cuando se le dijo, el personal se acusó de hacer el pedido equivocado. Tras la producción del recibo, finalmente recibimos una disculpa a regañadientes y se corrigió el error.

Llegamos a esta sucursal de Costa y nos pareció un poco inusual, ya que estábamos ubicados en el vestíbulo de entrada de Odeon New Street. El servicio fue un poco lento debido a la tutoría de un nuevo miembro del personal. No tengo ninguna objeción a eso, después de haber estado involucrado en la capacitación durante muchos años. Encontramos un asiento decente y disfrutamos de nuestras bebidas y aperitivos. El clima afuera era húmedo y ventoso, lo que parecía atraer a muchas personas a través de las puertas, pero manejaban muy bien los números.

Sometimes it seems we are too much creatures of habit - but at least with a Costa you can virtually depend this most recent drink of coffee will be very the same as the last one at some Costa miles away. Personally I love the taste, & look forward it being the same. And that is exactly what happened in this venue. Cheerful, efficient staff, reasonable atmosphere & good coffee. Say no more.

Popped in here for a quick takeaway coffee. Staff were engaging and friendly. The latte was lovely and not too strong. Nothing to fault here.

Had a quick coffee stop my flat white,good,a hot chocolate and a bacon roll which my son had was plentiful and tastey

Came here with my husband, the food and service was lovely. Costa is my absolute fav. So great for this weather Christmas collection is amazing

Stopped for a coffee, chocolate and light bite whilst out doing some Christmas shopping. Pleasant staff and clean facilities.

The Italians say you British drink coffee for our thirst, but Italians drink it for the experience. We certainly experienced coffee at its best on this occasion, served well, in good time and with good customer interaction.

No issues, staff are very lovely. I visit most mornings, and staff already know what I order (and I have a pretty specific order). Very professional, Very happy

Always visit this Costa when in Birmingham City Centre because of their delicious hot chocolate with marshmallows! And the staff are so friendly. It's just a nice place to sit and have a hot drink. It's quiet and comfy downstairs, a nice place to have a business meeting or just read a book on your own whilst enjoying a costa coffee!

Second visit here the staff were very polite and attentive. the cakes are to die for very nice range and lovely tasting, expensive coffee but a nice relaxing venue

Came in for a quick coffee with a friend. I had a hot chocolate. The photos are attached- clunky bits in my glass and floating around (so much some even stuck to spoon) .. friend had to take latte back due to it tasting and looking of just warm milk. Really disappointed. Not the usual costa quality we are used to.

Located on the very busy New Street, this is a typical Costa location which suffers from poor service as it's always busy with no time for politeness or good customer service. Menu items and coffee were good.

Good location and standard Costa experience. I little over priced and a little rushed! Did the job, food and drink on the run

Impolite staff. No wonder its one of the lowest rated cafes in Birmingham. Sadly I won't go here again

Quick and smiley service given the location and the fact that it was Christmas and very busy! A good selection of food was on option. More so than some of the larger cafes. All in all a welcome stop for pregnant tired feet.

Im a Costa Coffee Fan, but, this is the worst store I've been to. Slow service and slow baristas. Shame, because the girl on the till served me with a smile.

Waited for a toastie and had to remind them to get it. Nearly missed my train. They seem to be messing up everybody's order. More training needed or sacking the lot. No manners either.

Visited here whilst on break from work. Lovely and clean, nice peaceful atmosphere, fast service, very friendly staff who couldn't do enough to help. Very impressed shall be visiting again :)

I might as well of ordered hot milk as there was no taste in the cappuccino I had from Costa very very bad experience. Also it was uncomfortable And I will never go there again.

Visited a few times and have always been happy with the hot drinks and service. Staff all seem to know what they are doing and do it very well. The seatted area is clean and tidy. Till That is you need to use the toilet....

Went there at 20:30 on a the last weekend of the German Market. Guess when it closed? Really? On a night when the streets around were heaving? So went down the road to Starbucks. To paraphrase Julia Roberts "Bad move Costa!"
