Lovely Coffee, Friendly Staff & Very Clean.

Taken a star off today, Thursday. Mind blowing zombie like 'non' music, 8 a.m. ish Maybe Costa might think to tone down the music mix for early morning common human minds ? - ?? Take out some of the more hard etc in the mix. Or staff keep it quieter volume-wise for a start.? More heavy mantra like stuff going on at 8.35 am and hardly anyone in here, unlike earlier mornings this week ! ?? I am going, too I can't bear any more of this . But as a whole : As wrote earlier this week. An excellent caring hospitable place for a nice cuppa Monday morning to start the week. I think others are agreeing with me here this morning. Excellent atmosphere and simple nice cuppa. Well made by polite kindly mannered staff on duty, Monday morning first thing, Sept 9th, working away well hard and efficiently. -- That's what I reckon anyway. Much appreciated. 5 stars I reckon. - A nicely clean cafe too, for that fresh way, too. Persevering in such work ways and job can surely only be the best of hopes for good working years for staff labouring away at this time. And the country needs such good head-down get on ways from us all. Stick at it and each get good fruit in due course soon. And businesses such as Costa and plenty of other good high street much appreciated all round. Keeping prices affordable the same as they can. Many thanks!

Hi the workers here couldn’t get any ruder they proceeded to take my order en wen asked if I wanted cream the girl with black hair and glasses muttered under her breath about it to her other colleagues me personally I think your staff are rude and don’t have very good customer service

The barista serving me (no name badge as said he was in training) was so lovely and polite, and made an effort to ensure he had put my order down correctly before taking payment. All staff were lovely but the barista in training really stood out as a lovely team member!

I came into store today with an extremely irritable toddler who was screaming at the time I ordered my coffee, I became very overwhelmed and began to get upset, I was handed my drink and as I was leaving I could not open the door due to having my pram and bags with my which resulted in spilling my drink on myself, one of your lovely staff came to help me and calmed me and my toddler down, she was amazing and gave me a hug. I wish I got her name so that I could mention her in this review. A little kindness goes along way so thank you so so much. And the white hot chocolate was lovely aswell. Thank you again it ment so much to me that someone helped.

The cheese and tomato toastie was disgusting and the Late not much better

Needed to kill some time, so as always, Costa was open, so I popped in for a coffee.

Very good nice staff but could do with a sun visor in the main window where the seats are as it gets too warm to sit in the windows on a sunny day.

A nice pitstop between shopping and library/museum visits. I had a coffee and a little bag of delicious mini muffins sat outside in the sunshine. I only discovered there is a toilet on the ground floor after I'd climbed the amazingly long stairs to one on the 1st Floor. So amazing I photographed it! The leaking tap needs fixing up there.

Excellent service. Very polite and friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area 🙂

Very bad customer service, no greetings or anything, even didn’t look at my face at all…

We had two golden caramel lattes and two chocolate chip shortbreads and both were very nice. Ideal for a short break to rest shopping legs.

Had a couple of drinks and toasties in her today, only been in a couple of minutes when a girl behind the counter kept screaming for "Sarah"... Can I just take my hat off to Sarah who was given at least fifteen jobs while we were in there. " Clear tables" " Make a Mango Cooler" Stock the fridge" Wash some plates" Serve Tables" wow....Keep smiling Sarah, your doing a cracking job 😁

Great place lovely snacks and excellent coffee

Was fine, usually take my granddaughters with me but Thurs on my own but felt comfortable.

Firt time ive been to this costa coffee i wont be going back in a hurry The place was scruffy food on every table all over the floor and even on the window sills finger prints all over everything the outside area was even worse you could see no one has cleaned that place for days not hours I ordered a sandwick that i had to take back as it was already opened Then my partner had to take her coffe back clock cold One member of staff stood talking the whole time we were in there others to be fair were working most of the time But i feel all of them had time to cover some cleaning duties in the time i was sat in there they wernt rushed off there feet there was 2 families and me and my partner in there only Shocking

Drinks & toasties required on a visit to Barnsley. The visit about 11am was quite busy. 3 staff on duty behind the counter trying to clear the queue. Soon served. Drinks hot, also toasties were hot too. Only thing I would point out is the clearing up of trays left on tables needed an extra pair of hands. Good visit though.

On a visit to Barnsley required a snack to tide us over. Costa was getting quite busy the time we arrived. 3 staff on duty behind the counter but could have done with a fourth on my opinion. It was well organised behind the counter but required another one to collect the used trays. Food was usual great standard for Costa. Service was organised but lacking in clearing up. Drinks were usual standard of hot. Good visit for us, Thankyou to 3 staff on show & well done.

Me and my family love going to costa as we like there food and hot drinks they are nice staff and would recommend to others plus they have bonus cards that you can save when ou buy food and drinks so i love the place

Girl behind counter bullying a girl called Sarah who works there poor Sarah was constantly non stop clearing tables and washing up in the back the girl making coffee was stood about not even thinking to clear the tables herself to say it's meant to be team work she definitely don't want to pull her weight I hate to see bullying in the work place

Bought an expensive coffee in what is basically a coffee shop in need of decorating. Not one of my favourite places and I can't really see the attraction

We are regular Costa coffee drinkers however we visited the Barnsley's town centre branch the service was terrible and coffee wasn't up to the standard my wife had to take her latte back twice to get the drink she liked.

Dirty stained chairs. Table not cleaned and crumbs on it from previous customer. Other counter tops full of crumbs. Chipped old tables. Ready for a revamp and hygiene training! Coffee was lovely

Another wonderful Costa right here on Queens Street. The atmosphere is calm and quiet this morning. The barista gave me a larger Latte than my order (big bonus for me) Visit and say hi, grab a coffee and a light bight. You can't go wrong ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Where is the manager for this useless bunch. Long queues and no sound of the coffee machine working. Blue haired guy gets a special mention for swinging the lead. And his mate goes for a wander and comments "how busy it's got." Doh. We walked out whilst still in the queue - as did somebody else before us. What a way to run an operation.

Please fix broken toilet. If we pay primium price for coffee,we want nice toilets.

I’ve been visiting Costa outlets in various parts of the country and this was the first one that asked me did I want to try their smoother blend. However, what they omitted to say was it was 25p extra! It’s not the price, it’s the principal. You cannot give somebody a choice without mentioning a price difference. That isn’t right!

I visit here quite a lot, good coffee , i always enjoy the seasonal drinks. It does seem that they don't challenge people for not wearing masks, especially if that know them.

Nice place and coffee. But milk what they using in coffee makes me diarea, 😃😁🙉 .Their milk no good for me. But every thing is amaizing

The coffee was nice, however, we were asked to leave the shop and wait outside because there was a couple of people in front of us but mostly an empty place which was fine, however, the people in front of us weren't wearing masks which looks as though the rules were only being enforced partially

Coffee wasn't great and asked for a large skinny latte, came in a glass which I have been told elsewhere a large one shouldn't, and the foam was almost none existent. Not ideal

A store I haven’t used in a months or so and what a change! They are trialing have no large coffee! So you have to settle for a medium A medium latte that was 50% foam not milk ... today they were sub par in the product ... still friendly staff

Costa in Barnsley is too small, and staff don't clear tables often enough. Trays of cutlery on tables also on a chair.

This is a great coffee shop but always busy

I love this Costa Coffee and go regularly. The staff are all super bubbly and efficient, which helps because at times there can be a long queue. There's plenty of seating area if you want to sit down.

Very disappointed from my last visit. Place was dirty and unpleasant

Came in here on Thursday for a coffee with my mum and the staff were so friendly and genuinely looked like they were enjoying their job! They were singing and smiling and I was happy to wait in line as they were just making me smile! Will definitely return when I’m next in town!

I really dislike going into most coffe shops, Costa being no different. I am on my own and again while I am queueing for my drink and food. People come in take a table then send some one to queue. So again I have got my drink and have no wait as there is no where to sit.

I find a lot of the hot drinks are not always HOT , more warm Spoils the drink
