Costa in York

Second Costa I have visited in York coffee milk burnt no taste so hot I could come back next week and it would be just hot enough to drink. Very disappointed with Costa here must remember not to use ever again here in Your

Not great. Wish I had gone to one of the independents around the corner, admittedly they are more expensive but you tend to get what you pay for..... Cannot believe that they have no croissants or pastries at 10am! Its not that busy either. Decaf americano passable but not the best by a long way. I wouldn't use this place again.

Extremely busy Costas . The staff were handling the never-ending queues very well, though. Unfortunately, our flat whites were burnt . Presented well though

They only have one non-disabled toilet which can be very inconvenient.

The archetypal Costa Coffee: sticky tables, miserable staff, and a soulless atmosphere. I don’t understand how these places remain in business: there at least a dozen brilliant independent coffee shops within a hundred metres. I guess it’s because the instagirls love to pose with a paper cup from Costa Coffee …why, remains a mystery to me.

The food & service have been excellent on the last few occasions when visiting this Costa while we have been in the area. The only negative I have & it's the same in my local Costas back home is tables being taken up at busy times by people on laptops who very rarely seem to be purchasing anything of any great value but are taking space up(table of 4 with 1 person there). Be easier if they were made to share tables to utilise the space so there is room for everyone

It's really busy this costa but they get through the queue quite quickly most of the time... Most staff are approachable, but some need to remember service with a smile 😃...

A badly needed latte and cake was enjoyed here with lovely people watching views and comfy chairs

Missing 2 main items from order 2 pizza wraps 😢

I was extremely busy and had a bit of a wait for my order, but all was well

why did you only half fill my cup? when I buy a hot chocolate, I expect it to be filled to the top of the cup. My cup was only just over half full. yet I was charged for the whole drink. The passionfruit drink was warm, and melted.

The customer service was excellent even though the coffee was very busy. We enjoy our visit today. The staff were working together as a team. great place to stop for a coffee and a bite to eat.

Can't comment on the food as we didn't eat there (Costa coffee on Museum street York) however being in the catering industry I was so impressed with the young lady that dealt with a customer enquiry about a food item being suitable for a coeliac. She produced the allergens file and found the product in question & relayed that kindly to the woman who had enquired. I don't think she was a supervisor But was remarkably well trained. Top marks Costa on your training. Also the view onto museum street was lovely as well as the coffee Which is consistently brilliant and my go to coffee shop of choice 👏👏👏👏👏👏.

instead of calling to let us know they didn't have what they ordered, this giving us a chance to cancel or change the order, they sent half of it with a note saying "no toasties". not acceptable. Contact people if their order is unavailable

I read the reviews this morning and thought I’d give the benefit of the doubt. How wrong was I! I ordered a drink and two toasties for mine and my partners breakfast for them to deliver just my drink with a note saying no toasties and to ask for a refund from just eat! Are you joking?! Refunds take weeks sometimes! Why they didn’t think just to cancel the order I’ll never know! Especially when missing more than 50% of the items ordered. I paid £20 this morning for a DRINK. Do not order from, go somewhere else because you’ll end up disappointed! The other reviews are right. This store is really going down hill. DO NOT ORDER! You’ll lose your money and be left hungry.

Tables not cleaned . Had to clear our own table. Coffee was ok

Typicsl Costa but on a wet Sunday afternoon in York it had free tables which is more than I could say for most other places, so that was a big plus!

They have forgotten an item from our order 5 different times now! I wouldn't even bother ordering any food from here as you won't get it.

Coffee and food is good, but poor management and services. When they are busy, customers get bad service and rude responses, they don't know who's order and who is controlling it.

original delivery was supposed to be between 12.30 and 12.50. this then changed to 13.35 to 13.50. food finally arrived at 13.54. drinks luke warm and cold and chewy

Visited York for shopping a few items. On the return for home called in this Costa Coffee. Sign on the door re reduction in opening on this day. I realised the possible reason as only 2 staff on duty. It was getting pretty busy on our visit. The staff were kept busy, waiting time to be served wasn't long. The toasties were excellent. The service was excellent for us. The drinks were their usual hot. The staff require praise how they were handling the staffing situation.

Nice place to have a cup of coffee and snacks. Friendly staff and nice place to sit and relax.

I spent £40.94 for half of the order to be missing items I think you need to be making sure your staff are reading orders correctly it’s constantly happening and if I’m honest I’m usually a regular customer aswell your standards are slipping and if I’m honest you need to sort it out fed up of spending stupid money for things to not even turn up but yet you take payments IF YOU HAVENT GOT THE FOOD CONTACT ME!!!!!!! No excuse when my mobile number is always provided.

I ordered food for me and my family through just eat but I’ve come to realise there’s no number to contact the restaurant if they make mistakes so they take your money even if they make mistakes and miss items. I ordered £40.94 worth of stuff and £12 of products was missing, I personally think you need to make sure your staff members are reading orders and if you don’t have products in and the customer has left a number then you need to start picking up the phone and ringing customers because I’ve tried calling so many numbers and contacting just eat and there’s no way of getting a refund so if your wanting a costa don’t use just eat or just don’t order from this costa they constantly miss items from your order and if your wanting a refund there’s no way of contacting the place to even get any resolution it’s pretty appalling. They’ll miss items of your order knowing the customer can’t a refund but also knowing that customer can’t even ring the place to sort it out so they get free money absolutely disgusting

Both my drinks spilt so only had half of each and the drivers response was it happens nothing I can do bout it so unprofessional I’m very angry with it I paid in for a half a service

Took almost 2 hours from order to delivery waiting for a driver

I ordered the mozzarella, tomato and basil pasta salad, upon delivery it wasn't there but instead there was a not saying "sorry we don't have the salad :("

I put a note specifically saying " do not send order with missing items " and with my phone number resteraunt sent order without half the food, could have just called me and I would have asked for a substitution there was absolutely no need to send half the order. Now I have to fight just eat for a refund because you ignored customer request.

I ordered a bacon roll, they sent a chicken and bacon toastie instead, with a hand written note saying they had no bacon rolls. The bacon roll was the main item the order was built around, I would have cancelled had they let me know they didn't have what I ordered. I know they can call me, because the other costa have called before to let me know they were out of an item I ordered. Instead, I've had to pay for this order, instead if being able to order elsewhere to get something my kid will actually eat.

Everything arrived on time. Very lovely food and drinks!

One large drink was half full and we ordered at 10.30ish and didn’t receive it till 1.25pm. Courier was there for an hour before and it kept getting pushed back.

They forgot my gingerbread syrup and my partners marshmallows for her hot chocolate which is a shame since I believe you pay extra for both. But they are still the better Costa in York other than the one at the university

Order never showed up despite saying it was on its way at 17:05 and saying delivered at 18:48.

The order was perfect but it was supposed to arrive at 8:05 at the latest and didn't arrive til 8:20

Arrived cold drinks and missing what I ordered

Really disappointed with my order. When we went to collect our order, the driver was pouring out hot chocolate from his bag and told us that the drink spilt and that it always happens. The bags were soaked and ripped and I ended up with less than half of my hot chocolate left. I spent £20 on an order that arrived lukewarm and half empty.

Delivert time kept gettting pushed back later and later as no driver

I go to Costa every day (usually a different branch) but popped into this one for a quick coffee the other day. The dark haired girl behind the counter was incredibly aggressive and argumentative (especially considering I was politely ordering just one Americano, so it wasn’t like I was ordering off the menu!!) I had made the mistake of asking if the costa app had scanned correctly (it hadn’t) and she started lecturing me on how I was “too impatient” and needed to “wait to be told” and how she would “have to start the whole order again” (is that how it works??) Throughout, I had been tremendously polite, and apologetic that I had scanned incorrectly but I could feel my temperature rising as she continued to berate me in front of other customers. In the end, again politely because I had become extremely upset, I said that I had decided to leave it and would go. She said, “Fine. Next!” presumably to take her frustrations out on another poor customer… It felt like a really unwarranted attack and left me both angry and upset for the rest of the day.

ordered 2 frappes one.was quarter full with cream qhen should be full the coffee frappe and the tropical mango bubble frappe had no bubbels in and asked ro be made with coconut milk but wasnt.

Food came cold and drink was walm

Not happy with my order at all, placed order for a medium hot chocolate, fajita wrap, 2 salted caramel brownies. And received a latte (absolutely HATE latte so could even drink it as a substitute), a very small fajita wrap and one 1 brownie. Not happy to be honest can’t even get my money back!

2 coffees are missing, the 2 flat whites have been missed off our order and it’s quite unacceptable!

After having been strolling around Museum Gardens bright and early on a Thursday morning ,my twin brother stephen and I decided to drop into this Costa Coffee along Museum Street and I must say we had a pleasant time. A modern Costa Coffee outlet,typical decor and furnishings ,light and airy interior ,a glass fronted serving bar showcases the goodies on offer and there's plenty of seating options spread throughout this Costa Coffee. We ordered a soft fruit drink each ,these were served chilled ,we settled back and planned out the day ahead while sipping our cooling drinks. This is a very popular Costa Coffee outlet but with it's prime location hardly surprising really. We really enjoyed our drinks in here before we moved on and as on every previous visit to here we had a great time . This Costa Coffee is easy to locate along Museum Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Saturday,open from 7am. Sunday ,open from 8.30am. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Food/Coffee didn’t arrive at all. Second time this has happened where a JustEat driver has stolen my order from Costa. Watched them on the map right until they got to the end of my street and they disappeared off map and I never received my order. Costa themselves didn’t want to know said it wasn’t their problem. This was actually on 02/03 but I can’t leave a review on todays order for some reason so had to go back to a previous one. Wonder why! Really disappointing from Costa you would expect such a large company would actually want to try and put it right whether it was their fault or not! To spend £18 on an order to not receive it isn’t really justifiable of “not our fault”. Bad customer service from all angles.

Driver diverted from route and stayed there for a long time. I have screenshots of location. All drinks received are cold. I'd like a full refund or account credit please.

we ordered larges and got mediums we paid for flakes which were extra and we didnt get them and i got a aero hot chocolate which is meant to come with the aero chocolate and there wasnt any

Ordered a large hot chocolate and toastie yet ended up with a medium drink and a cold lunch. Not happy

I’m not happy with my order!! The main lunch item I ordered, a toastie,wasn’t in the bag and when I phoned the restaurant they couldn’t help and said I had to contact just eat to get a refund. I didn’t want a refund, I wanted my lunch!!!

Have called in a few times on our visits to York as we like to stroll in the Museum Gardens opposite. The coffee and service is ok and the toilet in an acceptable state.

1st order was delivered wrong address and sworn at by driver shop unhelpful. Second arrived coffee half empty and cold, coconut milk instead of semi...give up!

Late order, and order got mixed up I was given a bacon instead of sausage

It arrived spilt in the bag, I have 1/5 of the drink left in the cup. As soon as I brought the bag inside it spilt all over the carpet. I want a refund.

Visited this Costa Coffee outlet as we were heading to Museum Gardens and what a great coffee cafe this is.Housed in a beautiful building, the interior is cozy ,lovely decor and furnishings including plenty of seating options spread throughout this Costa Coffee outlet. We were here on a Tuesday morning, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of the staff, we ordered a flat white coffee, served steaming hot, it was just so good sitting with my twin brother Stephen and enjoying a reviving cup of coffee and planning out the day ahead. We both really enjoyed our coffee's in here, couldn't fault anything about our visit, nice cafe,great coffee, lovely staff and a great location, what's not to enjoy. We moved on after our coffee's and for a first time visit we were totally impressed with this Costa Coffee outlet. This Costa Coffee is easy to locate along Museum Street. Opening hours are;Monday to Saturday, Open from 7am. Sunday, Open from 8.30am. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Non of the drinks from Costa had been labelled so we've had to guess who's drink is who's. This is especially irresponsible given that we're in the midst of a pandemic and having swap and guess eachothers drinks causes a risk of potential cross contamination.

First of all, we got told to wait together in a queue rather than one of us sit down and wait? Surely this is more logical rather than taking up more space in a crowed area. We got told to take a step back but there were people behind us so we couldn’t? Not very well organised Second of all, our food came out cold. Got told by the member of staff that a new breakfast wrap would be given to us, where instead they just reheated our old one. Not impressed and won’t be returning.

Been to many Costa around the country unlike the others this was poor service from start to finish. Wouldn't recommend.

Iced latte was supposed to have caramel (extra charge) in it but didn’t and the frostino was supposed to come with cream and also didnt. Other than that it was ok.
