Costa in Hambleton

I thought Costa was suppossed to be a nice relaxing cafe. Not a place that's like a pub. Today I went in with my friend for a drink. I've never heard it so loud. I couldn't hear my friend talk. Groups of men laughing, who were treating it as a pub but without the alcohol. I nearly asked for a refund. So uncomfortable today.

This is a pleasant Costa behind Northallerton high street. There is the usual Costa offering and plenty of seating available. Our coffees were nice and the prices fair.

May 29 th. I visited with my wife while travelling west from Sandsend. On arrival there was a queue of maybe 5 people and some in the restaurant. The young girl behind the counter was on her own coping extremely well and dealing with what was clearly a large workload. Eventually I got served with two take out Americanos and I thanked her and complimented her on how well she was coping. She smiled and explained her assistant was off duck and she was on her own all day but she did not complain and just dealt with the workload. If the Management read this you have a little star in that girl and please recognise her. Good dedicated staff today are worth their weight.

I called in on my way home for a large caramel latté with cream. It took two staff to make one coffee and when I got to my car and took a sip it was practically cold it's the worst coffee I've had in ages from Costa. I won't be going back into the shop!!!!

Visiting Northallerton regularly, Costa used to be one of our favourite stops for a good hot coffee, one of the best Costas locally. Unfortunately, the last couple of months, when sitting in, we have been supplied with take out paper cups because the dishwasher is still broken. They also are still unable to accept the Costa rewards card. The poor young girls who are trying to run the store, are very polite and friendly, but fighting a losing battle when these issues are still ongoing months down the line. I have tried to find contact details to email the franchise direct but can only find a phone number. Hopefully this feedback will be seen, everything gets fixed and they can get back to how they were .

Apple Garth. Costa. Omg. The staff. Standing. On the seat. Where we drinking and eating. Cleaning with a feather duster. With shoes. On people have to sit. On them seats 🥲young lad. On the counter. Didn’t even shout your. Food ready 🙈 shocking. Service. (Food. Hygiene )need to visit. This. Cafe. Stay clear.

I visited costa coffee in Northallerton today as I know I what to expect; good coffee, good food, clean and friendly. Consistency! Sadly for the first time Following a visit to Costa I was left very disappointed. The tables were brimming with dirty drinks containers and plates and customers were having to clear tables to make space to sit down. The only visible bin was overflowing and the staff were serving the coffee in paper cups and the cakes in paper bags as they had no plates or cups. When asked if the dishwasher was broken the answer was no we had a rush on. Coffee was good cake was good staff attitude and atmosphere was diabolical.

Great coffee and millionaire shortbread. But when I picked up the tray I clumsily split a bit of the coffee like my clumsy self. And they were very nice and gave me some blue roll to clean up the mess. I would highly recommend lovely little cafe they have.

Had 2 pots of tea and a slice of cake. The cutlery, cups and teapot was filthy. Full of grime and was not washed properly. Told staff member, they said nothing they can do it’s been in the dishwasher. Rude and blunt, no offer of fresh cups or cutlery. Had to go back a second time and get our money back as we both wouldn’t drink out of their cups. Staff didn’t even apologise but just sniggered. The tables and floor had not been cleaned or wiped either, everything seemed dirty, they even had cobwebs on the screen of the counter.

Costa Coffee in Northallerton High Street has a simple straight-through design that doesn’t exactly portray cosiness, and the majority of the furniture style speaks of practicality rather than comfort. As such, this branch of the chain feels like a place to drink up and go rather than linger and chat. It certainly suffers in comparison to the Caffè Nero along the road as demonstrated by the long queue there as opposed to the comparative emptiness of the Costa. Of course the coffee was fine as was the service, although limited staffing seems to be an ongoing issue here, as evidenced by them having to use takeaway cups for everyone, and the other branch in town (Applegarth) being closed. I wonder if regional management give a toss for such basic ongoing issues? Bottom line? I’d come here again, but only if Caffè Nero was shut.

Greeted and served by a lovely engaging female member of staff. We were served promptly and professionally. Great coffee too.

Having been a customer of costa coffee shops for more years than I care to remember, this is the worst one I have ever been in. Staff were totally disinterested, slovenly, empty boxes left on tables aswell as dirty crockery. A customer also had to point out a spillage on the floor as staff hadn’t bothered to clean it up. This is a costa I will never return to.

We grabbed a quick three takeaway coffees from this Costa. Service was quick and the coffees were all up to th usual high standards of Costa.

The open area at the back of the shop is pleasant and you can take dogs through to this area which is a bonus. Staff friendly and helpful.

We regularly call into Costa in Northallerton for coffee. It is always busy but always clean and tidy. The staff are efficient and friendly.

Today we waited nearly 10 minutes for an iced latte and a small Americano. This is typical our visits in the last few months. It’s getting to the point where we’ll just stop coming despite the great coffee!!

Not the best organised Costa I've used but the coffee was still good, although the over chilled egg mayo sarnie was utterly tasteless. The service was lamentably slow despite there being five, yes five, 'staff' behind the counter.

20 minutes waiting for a latter and a glass of water! If Fiona the “barista” spent more time helping the new starter out instead of just barking orders at the poor lad customers would be served a lot quicker. It was obvious he was over whelmed yet she just stood there holding a customers toastie, three customers in front of me btw, telling him he needed to put it in to cook!!! Just out the toastie in yourself Fiona!! Then she disappeared to the toilets for 8minutes!! Yes! I timed her!

For some reason Costa lot coffee do not honour millitry discount as they have done in the past. You are told it's because we are a franchise, honestly for a company who have 3 mailshots and express machines in every petrol station and they can not afford to give a small discount. Don't forget, you would be ordering your coffee in German if it was of for peoplexample likemail me.

Lovely coffee as usual in Costa. This place was advertising for staff. I called in on Tuesday to find a rather abrubt miserable looking woman serving. The girl behind her was nice enough but looked fed up. The lady doing the coffee never used please or thank you for the twenty minutes I was in there. I was considering applying for the job but it put me right off. I usually enjoy calling in to the Costa places and can see from the reviews the staff are usually good. Unfortunately on my day that was not the case. Use some manners please. Otherwise OK.

Very pleasant friendly staff where nothing is a trouble to them, clean surroundings and tables cleared as soon as possible. Only costa coffee shop that say goodbye to customers which is a lovely personal touch that makes you feel a valued customer pity there aren't more cafes following this gesture. I would just say it's not as large as the one on the high street but prefer this one over any of the Costa coffees in Northallerton and as a frequent visitor to Northallerton this is the only one I would use. Staff need commending on their service to this company

The usual decoration, layout, food and drinks. Staff friendly & efficient. . Benefits by parking outside on the High Street - Short stay (2 hours) pay and display but this means you usually can find a space nearby.

Costa coffee is a standard quality but this cafe is all too often filled with people who have finished drinking or eating and just take up tables.

I have travelled around the uk and visited many Costas, however the staff in the Applegarth in Northallerton are by far the best and I feel it's down to the lovely lady that makes the best latte by far her name is Lucia, this particular branch is always clean, tidy and welcoming and it is a pleasure to visit. And yes Lucia does make the best coffee for miles!!!!

The staff at this particular location are always hard working and helpful even though the internal size of the restaurant is small and struggles to cope with an influx of business. Coffee and snacks are of the usual high standard.

You always get a lovely cup of coffee at Costa and it's one of the few places that when you ask for it hot it actually comes hot!! However what has happened to the toast? It used to be thick sliced and to die for. When I went last it was thin and really shouldn't have been toasted. Please bring back the other toast even if we have to pay more!!

I like the Costa chain, good or at least decent coffee and pricey but tempting snacks to be had, it is just not a good fit for a town that still has high street shopping and fiercely independent shops like Barkers and Lewis & Coopers and even Bettys, so why would you go to a Costa here

A top Costa. The products (food and drink) are first class. The efficiency of the staff, and their cheerfulness is top notch. Every time I visit this Costa I feel like a valued customer.

Visitamos la Costa como un último intento de intensa y elige el hambre nos decepcionó. Demasiado ruido música chillona rodeados por la decoración sin sabor. Ambos pedimos una pantalla blanca y lo que se hizo para nosotros parecía ser un café con leche en una taza de 12 onzas, no una pantalla blanca. Además, el café era ridículamente caliente y por lo tanto bastante insípida. La única razón por la que nos 3 estrellas y no 2 es debido al amable personal de turno.

Soy un habitual en esta rama ya que trabajo en otra tienda en la calle alta. El amable personal está familiarizado con mis visitas y también recuerdo mi pedido ya que es normalmente el mismo! Cuando he pedido para el equipo que siempre dieron un gran servicio incluye portavasos cuidadosamente organizado. También me llevo mi hija aquí un lujo, hay un montón de pasteles deliciosos para elegir! El personal hace un gran trabajo de administrar los tiempos ocupados - la tienda es continuamente ocupado todo el día debido a su ubicación privilegiada en el mercado de la ciudad, pero siempre he podido conseguir un asiento! Continuaré a utilizar esta rama y serán muy disgustado cuando las bebidas son más festivo!

Called in to this Costa Coffee to treat my kids to a hot chocolate.costa is pricy so we only go in as a treat.the costa in Harrogate we normally go to is good so when we saw the Costa sign in Northallerton I thought I'll treat the kids.friendly enough staff but incapable of working as a unit.had to watch three hot chocolates being made by one of the girls chocolate flying out of the cup as milk and chocolate powder was crudely thrown together ,no cream or chocolate topping or marshmallow offered.the end result was a cold,tasteless,weak drink.when you have paid over ten pounds for three drinks you expect better.seeing the chocolate,milk thrown everywhere behind the counter and the mess everywhere I was glad to get out of the place.i went back to the counter and asked about cream showing my dissatisfaction but the staff in there don't care.probably the managements fault but a poor reflection on costa coffee.avoid the Northallerton branch if I was you.

No beber café, pero mis amigos no tan a menudo que venga hacia la costa con ellos. O compro una bebida cara suave o si es invierno tengo un chocolate caliente. Sin embargo en esta ocasión mi chocolate caliente no era nada de eso. Apenas tibia. Y he pagado más de 3 libras. Yo debería haberme quejado, pero no como yo estaba charlando con mis amigos y no quería causar una escena.

Stopped off here on the 10th December at 1pm with my wife. The staff were very friendly and were working really hard. We both had coffee/tea and sandwich which were excellent! Sadly, the shared disabled toilet did not meet the same standards! Please see photographs.

As usual, Costa flat whites are excellent. The food was fresh and tasty. A Sicilian Tart and a Lemon Muffin just hit the spot. We were sat down and our coffee was brought to us. Can't say better than that.

The shop is lovely and clean staff well presented they are quick to serve but friendly take the time to chat plenty of tables to sit at only 1 sofa, only 1 toilet but very clean well worth popping in.

We often call in this Costa the staff are always friendly and cheerfully. The coffee is always up to Costa standard and if you cannot manage to take your tray to your table the staff will usually help you more than you get in our own local Costa.The scillian lemon. muffins are the best hubby has ever tasted!The only downside it is very narrow near the till area .It is not very wheel chair friendly cannot they keep a table especially for customers who rely on wheelchairs have not found any Costa's that do this!

A regular place for morning coffee whilst we are shopping in Northallerton. Good selection of hot and cold drinks and lunchtime snacks. I have noticed that tables are slow to be cleared and this is a bit annoying at times.

La única cosa que puede realmente que sería diferente de otro es el personal, que es lo que hacen, el personal de aquí son siempre muy educado, creo que he tenido una mala experiencia con el personal de aquí, así que por eso es que siempre tienden a venir aquí, creo.

Increíblemente mal atención al cliente! La señora detrás del mostrador muy groseros e incluso de ighed 'mientras espera a sólo segundos para mí para obtener mi dinero de mi bolso. Personal no prisa para servir una cola cada vez mayor. Me dieron cuchillos sucios y una taza con una grieta en el borde a la derecha donde beber. Otra Señora mucho más agradable y felizmente cambió con otra. Bien la comida, las bebidas bien pero sin recoger y mesas sucias. Northallerton Tesco Costa mucho mejor, irá en el futuro o caffe Nero, nunca regresaremos de nuevo.

Me encanta Costa, las bebidas y la comida son siempre óptimos. Sin embargo, esta particular rama tiene el personal más descortés. Unos amigos míos, había dicho que evita este particular Costa como las señoras que trabajan allí han sido muy grosero en el pasado. Me apareció en cafés para llevar una mañana y la operadora orden miraron como ella quería me ponche en la cara! Servicio muy frío. No podía creer que la actitud del personal. Nunca volveré allí de nuevo!

This is a typical Costa Coffee shop in the High St. There are many better local coffee shops in the immediate area that serve far better coffee and should be supported! I have never liked Costa Coffee and this one is no exception!

Asked for forces discount and was told I could not have it even though I had my military veterans badge on. I would use the little cafe up barkers arcade it's cheaper and serves quality coffee, the ladies come and serve you too.
