Dropped in here today to have a drink & a bit to eat whilst having a debriefing meetin with a colleague, i had a frappe & panini, The staff were friendly & smiling, always a good start, the place is relaxed & clean with ample seating, the frappe & panini were nice, wish they did a bigger frappe but thats my fault as i seem addicted to them during the summer, lol, We were able to talk without disturbing others & unlike some establishments like this they didn’t seat you so your almost on someone else’s table, the table spacing gave you your own personal space,

We've had coffee here a few times now and it's really gone down hill. Coffee is coffee unless you get the order wrong which happens now and again. This Saturday I was given a Caramel Latte when I requested a normal one. The toilets hadn't been serviced and where appalling and 80% of the tables were unusable as they were stacked high with old plates, cups and half eaten food. The whole place needs a good clean. Disappointing as it's a lovely location just poorly managed.

I visited this coffee shop to try their teas. At first I found the service a little slow, staff were not very attemptive and weren't particularly helpful when I asked the lady at the counter about the iced coolers she didn't explain them very well. I had the peach tea, it was the blandest and the most rubbish tasteless tea I've ever had. Only had one slice of lemon in it and no taste of peach what so ever. I'm not visiting this shop again, so unhelpful staff and the worst iced tea in my life so disappointing.

This Costa will always do well in this town as it is the only place to remain open past 4.30pm. The friendly staff tend to be young and local and it's nice to see them developing customer service skills. A small issue recently was dealt with quickly and courteously. The baristas are always tolerant of errant schoolchildren taking ages to choose and service is as quick as can be expected. The tables do need clearing more regularly though please.

We often pop in but tend to eat downstairs to escape the mother and toddlers groups upstairs. Good friendly service and the usual fare.

Fab place for a breakfast and studying. Free wifi and some plug sockets to charge laptops. Plenty of extra seating on lower level. The cheerful and friendly staff always offer a warm welcome. Thoroughly recommend this place 😊👍🏻

Staff did not clear the tables very effectively therefore dirty trays were left in tables surrounding ours. The queue was quite long and even after ordering we had to queue again for our drinks/food to be given to us. The cafe itself was a little grubby and the toilets also smelt bad...

First visit to Ampthill and it's Costa Coffee Shop. Situated in a thoughtfully converted ex. bank building there is an outside deck area which I would imagine in the summer is a comfortable area to sit and relax. Friendly welcoming staff and well made cappuccino's made this one of the better recent visits to the Costa chain.

I like Costa, cakes could be bigger size for the price. Coffee and cake always tastes nice. Service is always pleasant from any member of staff. Sometimes the floor and be very messy in the afternoons. Toilets are always clean when I have been, sometimes there can be a lot of water on the floor as the hand dryer is in with u. Would still come back to get a coffee and cake.

Being a regular morning visitor I'm never disappointed. Most chain coffee shops are slow and unfriendly, luckily we have a Costa in Ampthill that is speedy and provides great service!

Standard Costa but needs some attention to hygiene and cleanliness. Seemed to be lacking a manager.Tables not cleaned down, bits of food on the floor and just films of dust in places like when someone is used to doing the same round of cleaning and other bits don't get done. Likewise in the toilets.

Coffee has overtaken beer as the lunchtime beverage of choice in this country and given the fact it costs almost as much for a mug of warm milk with an espresso lobbed in it served in a vase as it does for a creamy pint of real ale, you sort of expect efficiency, a smile and for someone to not spill a third of it in the saucer. Have been here plenty of time. Have never had a straight forward experience, find it noisy and annoying and would recommend you try somewhere else because, as Costa Coffees go, this isn't a great one.

So have time to kill and what better way than in a Costa. Was welcomed on arrival. Service was prompt and friendly. Coffee amazing as always. Sandwich brought to my table so didnt even have to get up once comfy. Nice relaxed atmosphere that I feel like I could move in. This is a costa that has that real coffee house feel and not big chain atmosphere. Thanks to the staff on duty today.....Katie and Matt

I was cold throughout my entire visit here despite trying various different seats. Nicely laid out but I would've stayed longer if it had been warmer inside.

I sought refuge in Costa for a morning of post-grad study whilst visiting from out of town. The staff made me feel welcome throughout, chatting as they tended to customers & keeping on top of clearing the tables, they were polite without disturbing me. A well run, new coffee shop adjacent to a wealth of retail outlets. Oh, and free car parking, which also appealed!

As always - Costa have done it again. Great place to sit and relax and have a chat over a nice cup of coffee (or tea). Staff are always friendly and polite.

I like the coffee here but usually get tempted by a cake as well..they are all very sweet. A less sugary offer would be good. Grandkids LOVE the 50p babyccinos, with the free flake.

Horrible visit... went for a breakfast treat and asked for wholemeal toast (as per website menu) but was told that they did not serve toast and I wasn't offered any alternative so chose nothing. Skinny latte was underfilled in the glass by quite a bit and was luke warm. Husband ordered Americano with milk but in the end the milk never turned up in spite of asking a member of staff, and in spite of waiting almost 15 minutes, his toasted sandwich was cold in the middle. Really not good enough for top dollar prices.

First thing - empty at least 7 mixed tables free THIS WAS Empty AT LIKE 945 AM , Staff looked down their nose as if we knew they were FULL! Then said after being approached- we are full , never even asked what we wanted - and that would have been what 15 minute drink? We had no wish to eat I am shocked in attitude and ethos of the place - would not be willing to recommend or re visit

We booked afternoon tea for four about a week in advance, this was dealt with by the event organiser who couldn't have been more helpful, When we arrived the staff were waiting for us and conducted us to the old library where a single table was prepared for us. We had expected to be in the restaurant and to have a private room was a real treat. Our party included a vegetarian and a gluten intolerant guest. The Chef had prepared separate plates of sandwiches for these two as well as a seperate stand of glutent free cakes. There was a good variety of sandwiches which were obviously freshly prepared and well presented, the cakes and sweets were varied and excellent. The service was A1 and unobtrusive, fresh tea being brought in on request. We all really ate too much, but the food was so nice we just had to clear the plates :-) A very special afternoon for us and we shall return. We do enjoy an afternoon tea when we can ~ our overall service experience here was far better then at Woburn, much quieter and personal than that at Frosts at Willington and better service and fresher food than the at the Swan in Bedford,

We ate here whilst staying at the hotel. It was during a Wedding Reception. We were warned ahead of time that there may be a delay in the food arriving. However we felt that there was no perceptible delay. The food we ate was delicious! The Staff were very friendly and approachable.
