Another nice Costa Coffee shop we're you can get a quick refreshment and a snack when you are thirsty.

I love Costa's as they are friendly, have nice chilled atmosphere. Coffee good too! 😄

I was served today by Charlotte, who was so friendly and helpful. When we arrived it was so busy yet Charlotte remained super friendly. I have worked in retail for many years and know it can be hard to do, so we'll done Charlotte and her team.

Usual Costa fare, could do to have one member of staff who only clears tables during busy times. If you can get a clean table, good place for a catchup.

I visited here yesterday evening, and was treated with hostility by the server. I'm not quite sure why, as she served the people before me politely and with a smile, but when it came to me she was rude and treated me like a child, without smiling or any pleasantries. It made me feel as though I should apologise for being there... It was a very uncomfortable experience, and it took me about an hour to shake off.

Costa is always good coffee however it was extremely busy and drinks were slow to arrive after order.

Was served my Charlotte today and she gave the most uplifting customer service I've seen in a long time. I used to serve the public and know how tiring it can be to keep up the energy during big rushes throughout the day. I hope her team and manager know what a great job she is doing :)

Whilst staying in York, been to this Costa 3 times this week. Huge shout to the staff here (in particular the girls at the counter), so welcoming, knowledgeable about the products, professional, friendly, and bubbly, makes a big difference. They really deserve credit.

spoons are dirty with labels, coffee is like water, tea is bubble tea without bubbles at all, like water, glasses are falling through

The lines were long due to York being very busy on a Saturday. However, Charlotte was the highlight. She was very patient with every single customer. She took their orders and answered and explained any questions with clarity. She did the same with me. They were out of caramel and Charlotte offered alternatives. She connected with the customers and communicated well with her team. The other 2 were a woman making the cold drinks and a man handling the hot drinks. They were great also. God bless.

A nice chill place to get coffee

Stopped in for a quick drink after a long day walking around York. We had two hot and two iced drinks, which were served quickly and tasted great. Managed to get a comfy table with armchairs by the window which was great. Overall a good experience, however one member of the group went to use the toilets and swiftly came back saying that they were so disgusting that they couldn’t possibly use them, so we found an alternative in a different store.

Large Costa but well managed and organised. Always busy due to location. Staff are proactive and clear tables frequently. Usual Costa offer. Decent Costa outlet.

Very spacious, great food selection, good coffee and selection of herbal tea. Service with a smile excellent all round.

I just had an embarrassing situation with one of the attendants. I was sitting at a table waiting for the line to decrease to place my order because I was alone and had no way to save a table. The restaurant was full and I wasn't going to be able to order and have a table to sit at when I was alone and I didn't want to leave my things alone on the table. One of the attendants approached me, speaking loudly in front of the other customers, asking if I wasn't going to consume it, otherwise I should leave, as I was disturbing the other customers. He didn't even let me explain my situation. I was super embarrassed in front of other people. I have never experienced a situation like this before in the UK.

A nice cafe with polite staff. I went with my daughter and enjoyed the hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows. It's in a good location in the centre of York.

One of the best run costa,s we've been to. Can't comment on the toilet ,as we didn't use them.

A big hall, lots of table spaces. Good service, the staff is kind.

Freezing cold sat beside the door. Door would not shut properly due to an issue with flooring on outside porch area that has been taped off in hazard tape.

Staff was rude after forgetting a drink for our order. Acted like we were an inconvenience.

This a great place to get your coffee/ tea fix and have some nice choices of vegan deserts epically the new cheese cake which I think is the best cheese cake I've ever had be it vegan or non vegan .

Way busy which was expected for a town center but the fact there's only 2 toilets for such a large branch, made no sense. There was pretty much always a queue for the toilet. Disabled toilets out if use but luckily I only needed to change my baby. Toilets aren't great. Hot drink was nice and so was tiffin. Really difficult to navigate pram as hardly any room between seating.

A very busy but simple Costa, great place to go and have a tea or coffee in this area!

Clean, friendly service and bang in the centre of town.

After queuing for 20 minutes, I was pleasantly greeted by server, who had a running nose and wiped across her nose with her fingers !.. I placed my order but before handing my card and money over I put my gloves on so didn't get any transfer of germs from the server , who gave out a cough and moved to the next customer.. *The toilets were disgusting, wet paper on the floor ,seat and lid were filthy also I noticed no cleaning rota in place... *We had difficulty getting a table for 2 people because there were more people just sat do work on their laptops ,one person sat in a window seat for 4 people for approx an hour ,with all his belongings put on the other 3 seats and he didn't even have a drink, he moved a tray of dirty cups and plates to his table to pretend he had bought something !!!

Great service and drinks but the toilets are unhygienic. If you lift the toilet seats, you can see they have not been cleaned in a long time. Sort it out.

Visited during the Christmas markets. Although very busy the store had obviously brought in extra staff so I found myself served somewhat quickly. Small wait for coffee was to be expected. Coffee just as good as always.

When I’m traveling in England, I live off of costa sandwiches and flatbreads haha! This location was particularly spacious compared to more cafes nowadays. Staff was super helpful, too! I was there during the lunch rush and they dealt with the volume with ease. 10/10 great quick lunch

Jam packed, not enough toilets, annoying video screens overhead. Still the great coffee as with the Costa brand. Lacks a personal touch. They re striving to serve the never ending mega flow of desperate townies, tourists, normal and dropouts.Looking in from the outside, you could be forgiven for thinking it was a showroom display full of mannequins or a cattle pen for the miserable. Centre for Inefective Boredom relief.

The coffee is lovely but can someone at Costa clean the seats as they are scruffy.

I didn't eat because the food is quite expensive for what it is. The coffee is good and the staff are, generally, quite helpful, though sometimes having a second till would be better so you don't have to wait so long. It's great for getting online for work purposes so I can respond to or send emails. Overall it is a good experience but can be pricey and sometimes slow.

Me and my partner came in on Friday 11th august around 5:30 after a 2 hours train journey and was served by a blonde girl with coloured ends. When we got to the counter she said “what do you want” in a very rude tone and as we proceeded to tell her our order she spoke to us in a very snotty tone and when I told her we have the costa app for the points she rolled her eyes and said “right ok” we were in York for 3 days and the only part we didn’t enjoy was her customer service. Working in the daytime hospitality myself I would never talk to a customer the way she did. Unfortuanlty the visit led us to taking our service to cafe nero round the corner which we prefer less, but would rather have better customer service than what we received here.

I recently visited this Costa at 6.30pm on a Saturday for some hot chocolates, coffee and cakes with my sister and our children age 9 and 11 and 12. Before we had even ordered we were told by the very rude and abrupt staff member that they were closing in half an hour. The shop was very full and busy and had lots of dirty tables everywhere. After we had finished our Luke warm drinks we both needed to take my daughter to the disabled wheelchair user toilet, leaving the two younger children at our table to finish their not very hot hot chocolates. While we were in the toilet our children were asked to leave as the shop was closing. When we came back to our table our children were standing alone outside the shop in the rain. I was totally shocked and disgusted that the staff had kicked two young, unaccompanied children out into the street. I will never go Back to this coffee shop.

Ok, for a Costa. It was pouring down with rain, so there were large queues, but they were handled well by the staff and plenty on at lunchtime to accommodate the busy period. The cheese toasties were cooked fairly quickly. Unfortunately the toilets could have been a bit cleaner but were adequate. All in all quite a good experience. Quite pricy but normal for a Costa.

Awful. Saturday afternoon and the place is busy. No one clearing tables and toilets are filthy. First time in a Costa and the last. Only went in because kids were tired and chairs looked comfy. Seriously, why do people pay these prices for this level of experience. What a dump.

It was very busy and had run out of coconut milk. Not sure why people charge extra for none dairy in this day and age. However we got seats and had a pleasant break from a busy day in York.

Very busy Costa which can make it a challenge to get served and still have somewhere to sit. The food is good and the drinks are good. Despite being super busy staff were very good.

We've been coming here a few months now and would like to pay our gratitude to the member of staff called Mel. She's incredibly kind and patient with us. She always gives her all and this never goes unnoticed.

All great but I could be planning on going too other Coffee in they York City Centre instead as I have been in there many times now.

I recently came here with my 4 year old son named George and we got some coffee. It was his first ever time trying coffee and he really liked it. I think that if i took him to any other coffee shop he would not have liked it, which speaks to the quality and taste that this specific establishment has to offer! Overall, a great experience. The guy at the counter was extremely kind and polite and taught my 4 year old son named George all there is to know about the inner-workings of coffee grinding and making. The atmosphere was very atmospheric and relaxing. The beautiful wood and red walls compliment the warm lighting that created a welcoming environment. My 4 year old son named George really enjoyed the comfortable seating provided by this establishment! The only downside was the extremely long line for the bathroom. My 4 year old son named George really had to go potty! But overall, great place with even grater people! Overall, good experience, good food (love your Apple Pies), goo people, good atmosphere. My 4 year old son named George would definitely come here again! P.S. My 4 year old son named George loved the guy with the curly mustache

Quick and kind, especially the barista with the wrist support! They treated me no different to the rest of the customers even though I was having an *autism* moment and couldn't make eye contact. Also free wifi lol

A very organised team on such a busy day

Had a quick stop for some breakfast and a nice coffee with the kids after catching an early morning train with two kids moaning they needed a drink desperately lol. Waitress was so polite and helped in any way she could thanks again.
