Really nice food and lots to offer for a dessert or coffee experience. We had a strawberry milkshake and the millionaire crepe; both quite good and not overly sweet.

The food was great, we ordered pancakes and waffles, you have to be aware that when they say “4 waffles” they refer to the waffles as quarter parts, so if you are hungry for lots of waffles order a side portion of waffles. We made a reservation for breakfast, we were receive and showed to our table with both of our menus. There’s no in table service you have to go to the register to order your food and pickup your own cutlery even though they bring the meal to the table. Price wise is very good.

I had come in with my daughter in the hopes of finding a new dessert place. Automatically loved it. We were given a warm welcome. The waiter had full instructions on how to order as we sat down. I never asked for the waiters name but My daughter was talking to him telling him that it was her birthday tomorrow. Engaging in a conversation with her. After ordering our desserts the same waiter comes over with an extra cake and ice cream for her. Wishing her a happy birthday and hopes she has a great day. We both hadn't finished any of our food but enjoyed it immensely. Thank you for a great service! Strongly recommend this little place.

In the mood for something sweet, this is a great place for that. Death by chocolate cake was rich and fudgy, had it to share between me and my partner.

I have been to here with my boyfriend for 3 times. The chocolate and chocolate milk shake were delicious. I preferred dark hot chocolate. The milk shake is more like cold chocolate but not a milk shake. I recommend it.

This place was exactly what we needed for a delicious dessert! Ordered the fruit fondue with dark chocolate and a death by chocolate cake. Absolutely indulgent and well worth the calories. Would be very happy to try the rest of the menu. Great atmosphere and quick service.

The staff gave me a world class lesson in being ignored, over 5 minutes and no hello or anything. Such lackadaisical staff.

There was a queue when we arrived, but luckily, we booked a table. I was a bit disappointed with the pancakes as they were a bit undercooked, but the other two dishes, the pesto crepe and bubble waffle, were very lovely! The crepe was larger than expected, and the Nutella strawberries on Hong Kong's bubble waffles are perfect. (Though nothing beats eating the original one at HK Street side;>>)

A decor that does not make us dream and which does not take us into the gourmet world of chocolate. Don't go there for pancakes! This is not pancake batter. £8 for a pancake with red fruit coulis and a touch of whipped cream. The staff does not come to the table to take orders.

Lovely place to come for a pudding. Was a little confused at the entranceway as it wasn't fully obvious where the door was at first but once inside the café is decorated nicely and the service was attentive and fine. We ordered a crepe and cookie dough and both were tasty, although the cookie dough was definitely our favorite.

Got the gluten free pancakes. They were the best ones that i had ever. They did no explain how that worked but you order at vounter and they do not like a queue so they would tell you to sut an come back later, which i found it rude.

Where do I start… you have to order at the counter which isn’t very clear. Me and my partner were sitting at the table where they gave us menus. We waited 20 minutes. We went to the counter and waited a good 15 minutes with no one there. Finally ordered 2 hot chocolates, waffle and pancakes. Approximately 25 minutes waiting time and it came all cold which was disappointing!! Then to pay we had wait another 15 minutes because no one was there. Then on top of that the cleanliness was disgusting. The toilet had obviously not been checked all day. There was no toilet roll or soap and the toilet as you can see is filthy. Definitely never coming back again and do not recommend. Was going to complain but there was no one there to do that and I wasn’t waiting another 15 minutes. The only pro is the food looks good.

the food was very nice except it was very sickly and i didn’t even eat much. The place was very sticky and the tables were sticky and the menu still had chocolate on it. The place also looked closed, sort it out

Nice food. Big portion with plenty chocolate serving. Could definitelt fulfil the sweet cravings. Had the nutella pancake with ice cream and tea. The chai was on tea bag. I suspect the other tea are too. Pancake were a lot but a bit dry, may need extra sauce. But overall very nice.

Used to be a great place to eat out as I would come here regularly but my visit tonight was very disappointing. Firstly the place was dirty, table at the front to pay was covered in pancake mix, dust, old menus, and generally not clean at all. Girl who served us at the till also was quite blunt and wasn’t very welcoming (dark hair 21/12/23 evening) other staff seemed nice tho. tables that we saw being cleaned beside us still had chocolate and crumbs on them after being “cleaned”. Had to get up to order at the till when it used to be table service, had to collect your own cutlery and water, which the water container was empty and unstable almost fell over. Food prices have also been increased drastically since my last visit (more than inflation). Food was good but the people preparing the food had no hair nets on just tied back messily hair flying everywhere, and one had long acrylic nails on? Tubs with chocolate sprinkles were sitting the side where people queue to be seated so the public/children could easily put hands in, bit of a hygiene risk. And to finish, the shelf above where we were sitting looked like it was about to fall off the wall onto our heads :)🫶🏼

Best dessert place in Edinburgh city centre! New decor is lovely since the refurbishment. Kinder Bueno milkshake was one of the best I've had! We often come here for a sweet treat when in Edinburgh. Very well priced and lots of options for both sweet and savoury. Very much geared towards creating your own which I love. Would highly recommend (I'd also recommend booking, especially during the festive season)

Primero no nos querían dejar pasar porque decían que estaba lleno, reservamos por internet y nos dejaron pasar a los 10 minutos. Al ir a pagar dijeron que no había pasado la tarjeta de crédito y me cobraron dos veces. La comida estaba buena pero por el trato no merece la pena.

Shocking. Got in the queue at 9:15pm, waited a while and then told they can’t serve us as they are short staffed. I went in 6 months ago and they turned us away at 9pm as they were short staffed, went again a few months ago and they said we can’t do sit in after 9:30pm, and now we went in at 9:15pm today (17/12/23) and they still rejected us. We go back as the waffles are great but this is atrocious. The shop was full and they sat the customers ahead of us and they couldn’t sit us two, there we no other customers waiting after us. The staff member even recommended a few other dessert spots in the area. It’s like they don’t even want the business. She didn’t do anything to help us out either. Really poor service. The business could have done so much more to keep two loyal and returning customers. Unfortunately not anymore.

My wife took me this place as she was here previously and enjoyed it. I’m trying to make this review a constructive feedback on things I think the place could improve on: - on entry there’s already a smell of burnt pancakes as the kitchen is in the middle of place. Pancakes generally smell nice but this wasn’t ideal. - I’ve ordered an XL stack with Nutella and raspberries. There’s was a very thin layer of Nutella on the very top of the stack with 6 pieces of raspberry. The 6 pancakes on top of each other were extremely dry and half of them burnt - with such little Nutella and fruit it was completely inedible. I thought that there should be a layer of Nutella between the pancakes as well, unfortunately it wasn’t the case. The pancakes could have still tasted nice regardless but they weren’t - I couldn’t eat half of the stack which is a shame, I hate leaving food on the table to go in the waste. The only positive I can point out is the staff being friendly. Overall it was a big letdown, these pancakes should have been a nice breakfast to start our day but left disappointed.

Chocolate is one of the best I tried. Clean, nice taste, nice presentation. Quite wide options of chocolate treats. The place is beautiful, simple, and cozy. You can reserve in advance. I went with a friend with no reservation, and we were about to set on the table since no one was on the door, and we guessed it was self-service. Instead of customer service coming to us and kindly ask us to wait until he checks if the table is reserved or not, he asked us to come out to the door, and then let us in to the same table which was rude a bit. Otherwise, nice experience.

Lovely to visit after dinner for some desert, delicious bubble waffles and friendly service!

First of all, we love Coro… but we have a love hate relationship with it - we always leave suffering of a full stomach. And I mean suffering. Every once in a while we have a craving for it and go. It is always quite busy and we had to wait for a table multiple times. The servers are always lovely, although service can take a while with how busy it is. We love (and hate) the cookie dough. The fondue is also delicious and comes with your choice of chocolate. We can also recommend the Crêpes. Since we always get a cookie dough we believe our suffering is owed to this treat. It is absolutely delicious and it makes your brain force you to munch the entire thing. But it also cements your stomach shut. On our way out we therefore always walk very stiffly and avoid looking at food adverts whilst giggling and regretting the indulgence. But overall, let’s be real, that’s what a proper dessert experience should be like. So if you want to have an incredible time, go to Coro. You will only regret it for the first hour after, and then be back again soon. (We are adding photos as we go)

Coro the Chocolate cafe exceeded my expectations with their Nutella & strawberry bubble waffle – undoubtedly the best waffle I've ever had! The service was impeccable, and the atmosphere added to the overall enjoyment. What's even better is the reasonable pricing, making it a delightful experience all around. Highly recommended!

I came here outside rush hours, but I have to wait a while because the waiter decided to seat me and my friend in a place that hasn't been cleaned yet. There was not enough clean cutlery. The toilet was dirty. And the food got cold quickly. It looked amazing, but if you've been to other chocolate places it doesn't compare. The waffles I had weren't bad, but my friends' pancakes were quite dry. Perhaps a different order would have improved our experience. PL: Zawiodłam się. Miejsce ze świetną atmosferą, które w menu oferuje całkiem ciekawe rzeczy do spróbowania - nie podołuje postawionemu wyzwaniu. Obsługa sama wyznacza ci miejsce do siedzenia (w moim przypadku pomimo odwiedzin poza godziną szczytu zajęło to wyjątkowo długo, ze względu na to że kelnerka zdecydowała się nas posadzić w jeszcze nie posprzątanym miejscu - chociaż były inne) oraz samemu trzeba podjeść do kasy aby złożyć zamówienie i następnie zabrać do stolika potrzebne ci sztućce (co nie przeszkadzałoby gdyby były one dostępne). Mają jedną z gorszych pod względem czystości łazienek jakie spotkałam w Edynburgu (także ze względu na zlew dość ciężko było w niej umyć porządnie ręce). Jedzenie nie było tragiczne (bardzo ładnie wyglądało), ale na pewno nie dorównywało smakiem fabryce Wedel. Zamówione przeze mnie gofry nie były złe, ale bardzo szybko zrobiły się zimne (plusem były dobre owoce). Zamówione przez koleżankę naleśniki (pancakes) były bardzo suche. Czekolada mleczna użyta jako polewa była w porządku, gorzka niestety już nie (chociaż to może być wina tych naleśników). Ogólnie bez owoców byłoby mdłe. Być może inne zamówienie poprawiłoby naszą opinię, ale to właśnie takie "dania" które można samemu sobie złożyć są ich specjalnością - jako że zajmują połowę menu. Raczej już tu nie wrócę. Jeśli ponownie przyjadę do Edynburga to będę szukać czegoś innego.

We ordered but the manager was being very rude and just kicked us out. We wasted so much time waiting for our food but ended up being cancelled. I highly recommend firing the manager, as she’s just pushing customers away from this place, which used to be one of my favorites.

On the Saturday before Halloween, I went to this store, which had a Halloween theme and Halloween events for kids on this Sunday. This store's location is quite lovely and easy to find. My friend and I got crepes and waffles, and the crepes were delicious, with enough of chocolate sauce between each layer. And the waffle was crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, which went perfectly with the ice cream. However, I felt both meals to be a little overly sugary. I believe it would be ideal for unwinding with a cup of tea.

What a great place for dessert. Tried pankakes and waffles. Both are extremely delicious. Service was smooth, the restaurant was clean, and the atmosphere was cosy. Definitely recommended 👌.

The dark hot chocolate is the thickest and the richest in town (so far I've tried more than 8 shops) Worth a super recommendation! You can even buy a small cup of dark hot chocolate and add milk at home, then it becomes 2.5 cups of milk chocolate (smart innit🤣) The milk chocolate is good however the dark chocolate is just another level. Notice that they have no WiFi, but their drinks still deserve 5 stars.

Having visited twice before was very disappointed this time. Pictures showing dishes have been removed, you have changed how to order dishes. More expensive as you build your own dishes, you have taken away the personal touch of table service. You are obviously more focused on profit rather than customer service. Won’t be going back

So much to choose from the menu which offers a tantalizing selection. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The air is filled with the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee, mingling harmoniously with the scent of the cooking of waffles/pancakes, chocolate etc. In this cafe, the great atmosphere isn’t just about the coffee; it’s about the experience and indulgence with the delightful fusion of tastes waiting to be savoured.

Went and got a hot chocolate thinking it would be about £4 as it said on the menu, didn't know there was a service charge included even though there was just 3 of us and all I got was a drink, turned out to be about £7 just for a small hot chocolate. A great hot chocolate but crazy price.

Visited today with my partner and had the Nutella hot chocolate. Hot chocolate itself was very average, the staff seemed moody and were on their phones behind the counter, and the place in general was pretty dirty. There was a large communal water jug on the side, which was dirty, as well as the window sill being covered in crumbs. Wouldn't return here.

Had a sweet tooth craving between shows in Edinburgh. Stumbled upon this place between venues. This is pretty much dessert heaven for most people. Went with the cookie dough… s’mores and peanut butter versions… both were decadent and hit the spot perfectly. I’ve only docked a star as the service is a bit slow, and a little disorganised. Otherwise… make your way here if you’re in and around Princes Street.

Heard some good reviews about this place and the first time we went here it was full and they mostly took advance reservations. As being our last day in Edinburgh we got a reservation for the next morning so we can try this before we left. At first I was a bit sceptical about this place as everything chocolaty sounded a bit too sweet and too extra. We got a short bread waffles and double chocolate pancakes. We loved both of them, nothing was too sweet or extra instead it was the perfect balance and all amazing flavours, this is a bit rare to achieve especially in a dessert cafe. I just loved the shortbread waffles, do try this place definitely worth your while

Won’t lie I love this place I’ve been many times and their waffles are so yummy but only complaint is it’s not the cleanest place, there’s been more than one occasion where the cutlery is dirty or there’s floaters in the water, wouldn’t stop me eating there but wished the staff would be a little nicer when pointing out these things (not all staff, a lot are lovely)

Came across this place while visiting my Sister and it didn't disappoint. The atmosphere was lovely, staff were great and the desserts were amazing. Julian was professional, very knowledgeable and friendly and was helpful with our requirements. Had someone who was gluten intolerant and another dairy intolerant and they were able to accommodate for both easily. Hats off to you guys, you're doing a great job, keep up the good work and look forward to seeing you again soon

This is a gem! 🥰 We stumbled upon this place by accident and I'm so glad! The portions are huuuge and the waffles are amazing and under 10 pounds. The coffee is great too. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend it and will be back when I'm in Edinburgh next time!
