We popped here to escape the incoming rain, hoping for a quick re-fuel. What we found instead was perhaps one of the best hidden gems Falmouth has to offer! The coffee was absolutely fantastic (the best I've had in a long time), the scrambled eggs were perfectly done and the bread was lovely and fresh. Would've been happy to stay here all day!

We have been coming here for a while now and it never fails to deliver. Whether just for coffee or lunch it's a real delight. Service is great. Sarah the owner informed us it was her 7year of when they opened today so they are obviously doing something right. Baker Tom bread and cakes also good quality coffee. Interesting paintings and bits and bobs for sale in this cafe and dog friendly. Always a bonus in our view. We wish them continued success. A lovely cafe where you are made to feel really welcome.

A friendly local cafe - we planned our bike ride from Falmouth to go to this cafe following roads along seafront and then do a circular ride back via Budock. Good decaf flat white, yummy bread and bacon/egg butties. Cake was rather dry but I doubt it was fresh baked so not at its prime. Service friendly. Homemade soup with bread looked worth trying. Will return.

Went to the Cornish Maid to meet a friend for a morning coffee and a catch up. They were really friendly and we were given a very warm welcome when we entered. The coffees were very good and the atmosphere in a the coffee shop buzzing. It must be a regulars haunt as well as tourists because as people came and went the staff used their names as much as possible. We didn’t eat but the food looked well presented and appertising, so next time... Our only feedback would be for the young waitress who was a sweetie, however had the habit of presenting our coffee with her thumbs on the rim of the coffee cups to stop the cup from slipping off the saucer. It’s not very hygienic. Hold the handle if you need to ensure the cup doesn’t move. Keep fingers off the rims of cups and glasses. We will be back.

Well, we must have come to this cafe on an off-day. We found it very disappointing. The tables were not wiped, the staff were unfriendly, and the jam for our scones was no better than ordinary jelly jam. We wouldn't call here again. For the best catering in the area, go to the restaurant at Trebah.

This is the second time we have popped in whilst taking our elderly dog for his car drive and trip to Maenporth beach. Today it was the turn of the men to be cooking and serving.last time two ladies were doing it. On both occasions the welcome could not have better. Our dog was also allowed in even Though he is of large size we ordered yesterday the pasty and toasted sandwich. The pasty my husband said was delicious and came with bits of very fresh salad and my hamand cheese toastie came with lovely salad garnish. A pot of the freshest tea came. The teapot was huge. The man serving lovely and attentive and although every table was full it was lunchtime we did not have to wait. This lovely little tearoom cafe is light bright and has various things on the shelves to buy or just look at. The atmosphere was great having a chat with one or two tables and our dog was given a biscuit by one very kind lady. We shall definitely be coming back as it does what it says on the tin. Good parking and a well run charity shop to browse within a yard to walk.

This smaill but bright and cheery tearoom was excellent. There were two locals when we arrived and they immediately made us feel at home. They were so happy to share tidbits about their piece of the Cornwall area. The proprietress Sara (?) was lovely along with her assistant. Wished we had found this place earlier as the full English breakfast was yummy. When she found out my husband was related to a friend of hers it was like we became friends too. We left with hugs all around :) Recommend this a a great place for breakfast or a spot of tea. She also carried a lovely line of bits and bobs and nice art work too. If we are ever in the area again we will be sure to pop on by again.

I first visited this last year to buy some take out to take to Glendurgan and was not impressed by the poor quality of the food on offer - what a difference a year makes! All the pastries are from Baker Tom in Falmouth, as is the bread which is also used for the sandwiches. AT 2.30 on a Saturday we were out of luck on the pasty front, however I had a really delicious Cornish Cheese & Chutney sandwich (the chutney was very original and scrummy) followed by one of Baker Toms pain-au-raisin. Prices are very reasonable and the café itself is spotless, light and airy. There were a couple of locals in and it appears well supported - good! The girl serving was friendly, polite and helpful. We will be calling in again when we next go to Glendurgan!

Such a warm and friendly welcome. The owner and her staff are friendly, incredibly helpful and make you feel at home straight away. Families, locals and visitors all seem to visit and chat together. During a quiet spell where we were the only customers, the music was turned up for the 4 year old I was with to have a good dance around! A good selection of cakes and biscuits as well as the usual range of coffees and teas. The tiffin is fab. There are small gifts and homeware items for sale around the seating area which are made by various local businesses and are reasonably priced. Couldn't reccommend the Cornish Maid enough.

The Cornish Maid right in the centre of Mawnan Smith is perfectly placed to attract locals and passers by alike. For our walking group is is perfect. There is a choice of large and small tables but everyone seems to talk to everyone else. Sarah serves a variety of coffees, teas and scrummy locally made cakes and biscuits so tempting after a long walk! And for those wanting a light lunch home made soups and Baker Tom sandwiches. It was encouraging to see a group of seniors having lunch and a good laugh.Sarah and her cohort of helpers breeze about chatting to everyone so a complet stranger would soon feel quite at home.

I visited the Cornish Maid for an afternoon cream tea and, at first, was impressed by the decor. It really is a cute little cafe and the owners have done well with its appearance. Sarah seemed lovely and served a really yummy cream tea.Unfortunately, listening to her talk to one of her staff about getting rid of another member of staff and also hearing her moan about other customers really put me off. It was totally unprofessional and made me feel very uncomfortable. I had planned on taking the entire family back for lunch one day, but Sarah completely spoilt it for me.I won't be returning.
