Took our Bellringing band for a Xmas meal. The food was excellent, presented attractively and the staff went that extra mile to make our evening a success; despite me cocking up the the meal order! Definitely recommended for top quality dining experience, great value for money and friendly and accommodating staff.

I live less than 2 miles away, from Cornish Arms, must have driven past so many times. It was one of the families birthdays 12 October. We wanted somewhere different, from the same old same old. Looked at the menu's and decide this was the place for us. All ages from old to young. What can I say, very welcoming, service perfect. Were with us all in seconds. Drinks first then menu's and daily specials board. What0 a wonderful selection. All tastes covered and all needs. There was no waiting time at all. considering the diversity at what was ordered. Food excellent, piping hot and delicious. Everyone very full. however the children wanted ice cream. I wanted the roulade. Then everyone caved in and had desert. Fantastic again. Our party finally left full and satisfied, having enjoyed great food and company. My daughter said how wonderful to be somewhere that was full, of people all taking. We love the atmosphere, will we be back, of course we will.

We booked for Sunday lunch, albeit only the day before. Unfortunately the bookings were full and they promised to phone back within the hour with a yes or no. Great, we got a call back within half an hour to say they could fit us in at 2pm, for which we were greatful. We had travelled down from Liverpool to meet a family member. Upon arrival at the Cornish Arms, the staff at the bar were very welcoming. They immediately engaged in small talk and made us feel at home. We chose the 3 meat roast for lunch, and it did not fault in any way. Turkey, gammon and beef all cooked to perfection. The veg was all served to the sides with petted roast potatoes along with an extra jug of gravy, without us even asking. Phew, after all of that food, personally I could fit a desert, but the rest of our group did. Again they did not disappoint. Great variety, huge servings and all washed down with drinks from the bar of which they had a fantastic variety. We are staying nearby for the rest of the week, so I’m sure a midweek visit will definitely be in the cards. Well done team, everything was amazing.

I apologise to the Trip Advisor staff but I cannot complete the initial questions as they do not give me sufficient options I have been visiting this small country village pub for many of years, probably over 20 and I have to say that I have never been disappointed either in the reception or the food, not to mention the staff. Emma and Ross, the current owners, who have been here for about four years, combine just the right amount of professionalism, (Emma) with just the right amount of banter, (Ross). We have been at various times of the day, lunch and dinner and at busy and quiet times. The food, and let’s face it, this is a small country pub – not a restaurant – almost in the middle of no-where, is excellent, well prepared and cooked and always served with a smile. Something you fancy not on the menu, just ask. If not too busy they will bend over backwards to accommodate your needs. However, this is not to forget the other staff who are always polite, cheerful and helpful however hard pressed and always have a smile for you. My family and I have been coming to this pub, and not forget that is what it is – not a restaurant – for many years. We have always tried to remain in the background and not be too obvious and by-and-large, we have succeeded. Hopefully, we will continue to visit this country gem for many years to come. GJ

The place caters for locals and, as visitors to the area and recommended to visit Cornish Arms, we were totally disgusted at the food and the way we were treated. I’m vegetarian and the lady from behind the bar made a complete song and dance about what might be available for me. Ended up with some kind of stodgy wellington, no gravy or sauce with it, served with a jacket potato (too much carbs and no food value) and a pathetic excuse for a salad. The Wellington has obviously been frozen and not warmed through properly, it was still cold in the middle. Disgusting! Avoid the place.

Although we didn't book until 11.00am of the same morning, they managed to squeeze us in. It was extremely busy when we arrived so we felt lucky to have been accommodated. Being a Sunday, there was only a choice of roast beef or pork, sadly no white meat. When it arrived I'm pleased to say that the plates were red hot and contained a lavish portion of meat with vegetables in a similar quantity. Could not fault the meal and could certainly not resist going for a delicious dessert that added £2.50 to the bill. I have been visiting this little lovely pub since 2012 and it's the best pub I have been to, it's small, it's welcoming, the people who run this fine place are superb! We are yet to try food there but we have been told it's of high quality. We had a party there and it was the best party I have ever been too.Free Pool on certain nights, Live Music, a little place it maybe but it's full of fun.

Living in Cornwall we are in the fortunate position of having lots of good places to eat and if you want a warm friendly welcome and great, good value food then the Cornish Arms at Frogpool takes some beating. Just had our Mum's 70th Birthday here and as normal, not disappointed, lovely welcome and everyone enjoyed their meal, what more can you ask for?

We have now been going every sunday for over 3 years, its like being with your close friends, everyone making you feel welcome especially from the minute you walk in Jane the landlady, Emily and Miranda and Leon make you feel at ease for a great sunday lunch well cooked by Tim. We took our neighbour and her visitors with us and they were over the moon with great home cooked meals and atmosphere and really enjoyed themselves. I don't think we have ever been made so welcome as we are here, continual good luck to them, they deserve it.

I visited this pub just tonight with my boyfriend and I wrote this review as soon as I got home - I am incredibly embarrassed, frustrated and angry. After a long trip, neither of us had eaten all day so we found this pub. We seated ourselves and within 5 minutes of arriving the waitress walked past us at least 5 times to serve other people - completely denying our existence. Finally, when she did walk up to us she informed us that we'd have to move tables as this one was reserved - THERE WAS NO SIGN ON THE TABLE. We easily moved to another table. We waited another 10 minutes, the waitress continued to ignore us. Now we were waiting with another couple who had just arrived, they tried to ask for menus and the waitress ignored them too. Walked straight by. By this time we were quite frustrated and hungry.Eventually my boyfriend went to the bar to order drinks, find menus and make our presence known. He returned with our drinks and one menu, we started to look at food. The waitress then came up and told us that this table was also reserved (there was NO RESERVED SIGN ON THE TABLE - in fact they had told us to sit there earlier). We asked if we could move to another table and she told us that they were all reserved. At least point I simply told her "you guys should put RESERVED signs on the table so people know". That is all I said. She responded "We know which tables are reserved" and then "I know how to run a business" (which they obviously don't).!!!!!!!!!!!!I was appalled by how rude she was. All I did was suggest something (that most restaurants do) to make things smoother, and avoid this kind of situation. She did offer our drinks on the house, but at that point we were so angry we left them untouched and went somewhere else. I do not recommend this place to eat, only to use as a pub. The service is terrible, they are rude and conceited. I am a very patient person, but I have never been to a restaurant as horrible as this, and I have been to many (worked as a waitress myself).

A group of 10 of us plus 2 dogs went for a pre-booked and ordered lunch during our walk. We ordered a variety of meals like jacket potato, chicken bacon melt, sandwiches etc. The service was friendly and efficient and they provided extras like biscuits for our 2 dogs. The portions were good and the food was tasty with extras. They really worked to made our visit enjoyable and we would certainly recommend the place to anyone in the area.

Myself and my partner visited for lunch just before the kitchen closed and the lady behind the bar was more than welcoming (turned out to be the landlady). We both ordered Cottage Pie which was delicious and clearly home made and piping hot. A substantial portion and great value! Will definitely be back again! So nice to have a proper old-fashioned pub with home-cooked food. You must visit albeit off the beaten track. Customer service and friendliness 100%!Thank you!

Took our family for an evening meal. Usual lovely welcome from Jane and Tim. The Cornish Arms is a lovely old Pub tucked away in Frogpool recommended for Lunch and evening meals. The menu is varied with dishes of the day. There is fish and chip night on Fridays, a free pool night on Tuesday, Bingo on a Monday night and a curry night on a Thursday. I had the ribeye steak, which was superb, others had gammon steak and rump steak. All of which were delicious. I have had several meals here and all have been outstanding. All the staff were friendly with a special mention to Michelle who did everything possible to make us welcome. The prices are very reasonable and good value for money. Real Ale with guest Brewers. Highly recommended.

Our first time visiting you today and had a lovely experience.. food was very delicious, we have a fussy person with us who usually isn’t happy with any meal we have out, but even he said he was impressed, which says a lot! So please pass compliments to the chef! Couldn’t find any fault with the service, polite and helpful! We also enjoyed the music, it created a lovely atmosphere.. we all want to come back again :-) thanks!

i’ve come down here to visit my family, and we stopped in this pub to have a quick bite to eat but the old lady (owner i’m assuming) was absolutely rude to me and my family, we moved to the opposite table because our one was dirty and she proceeded to make a rude comment and be passive aggressive towards us, would not come here again.
