Big thanks to Emma and team. What a great bar with a great atmosphere. A group of us took some time out from our charity collecting yesterday, we had a lovely breakfast and evening drinks as well !! Motivated and happy staff.

Visited this as part of a country music event. I understand we weren’t their usual clientele but the staff were pretentious and rude. Drinks were very slow to arrive, it was hard to get staffs attention and when we went to the bar they were rude and unhelpful. It was a full event and the waiters were often carrying one drink at a time! Food was very standard, the salad and coleslaw sides were old and brown. There was no toilet paper in the ladies and i asked a lady behind the bar and she said they were busy to do anything and she returned to standing and doing nothing.

Great cocktails, could have more beer option on tap. Speedy service and attentive staff! Definitely recommend!

Crazy cocktails in a very fancy cocktail bar where to spend a great evening in the city!! The staff is friendly and can recommend the perfect drink based on your taste and genre. I suggest the light blue one with gin!!

Quite a hidden away venue. Grabbed some lunch before we went to the theatre down the road. Pavel our server was great, friendly and attentive. We were in a bit of a rush and we in an out in half an hour. Highly recommend if you need an express lunch with good food

I used to be a regular here for a few years whilst working in Moorgate and have always enjoyed drinking here and have also arranged a few leaving parties there for colleagues. I had booked a table for 10 persons for drinks and food back in December and paid a deposit of £100 to secure the booking but unfortunately due to Covid we had to cancel our party at very short notice. However the management were very understanding and allowed me to use the original deposit for payment for a lovely lunch with my wife instead of the group booking as originally planned. The food was excellent and the service impeccable. I look forward in returning again soon

It was my first time arriving at this restaurant and I can honestly say it was a 10 out of 10! Although it was a last minute booking (day before my birthday), the staff were nothing but helpful and provided excellent service! Food was great and the drinks were amazing, it was a brilliant experience overall! I will highly reccomend this spot in the future. Thank you for making my birthday really special!

A classier wetherspoons - setting is nice but availability of plates and presentation coule be much improved

I am a regular, I have seen the place busy and quiet and the service is always excellent. I do travel a lot for work, I eat out often and no matter how many places I visit this one always holds a special place in the city for me. Summertime is the terrace and winter time the cozy lounge. Than you guys for the amazing service and delicious food. Crispy salmon speaks for itself! Just look at the pic!

Twice I have been and had steak; and twice it was the worst steaks I’ve ever had. The taste was bland and the texture was chewy, even after ordering it medium. I would not be surprised if their steak was frozen for quite some time and only defrosted before cooking. If it wasn’t for the béarnaise sauce, I wouldn’t have eaten it at all. I will definitely not be returning here again for lunch!

My team enjoyed our Xmas do at the Refinery, the atmosphere and music was too our liking. The food generally was ok, but it's always not going to be to everyone liking due to large number of people being served. The Christmas pudding needed more custard, which was quite sparse. In general we had a really good time. Will definitely go back to have the daily menu.

I’m a busy guy. I go to the refinery more than once a week for business meetings. The staff are engaging and friendly, so the atmosphere is great! Some call it my ‘other office’. every time I am in the city I always go to The Refinery. There is always a great vibe, the staff is super friendly and even when it gets busy they deliver an impeccable service. Special Lamb and kombucha for my lunch was the perfect fix for a rainy day.

This is for sure my favourite pit stop after work!

The Refinery was busy even on a Tuesday evening. All started well with an espresso martini. The mini sliders were also tasty and the complimentary kombucha was a surprise. However, it took several minutes to get the attention of the waitress to order my food and the same to get the bill. I ended up putting my coat on and paying at the bar.

Nice venue, if you’re planning to go there for lunch, ask for the lounge area, it’s very warm and cosy. Our waitress recommended the balsamic chicken breast from the menu. It was very tasty, thank you Siyana. We will definitely see you again soon xx

Precios razonables de comida pero no disfruté de mi plato principal (hamburguesa de pollo) o de lado (calamares fritos). Mi compañero tenía la hamburguesa de remolacha y dejó la mayor parte. No lo recomendaría, lo siento.

I’ve had a few lunches here but mainly because of location. It’s ok not terrific but can be pricey if you stay there too long.

I organised a leaving party for the Executive VP. We had around 100 staff attending. I liaised with a staff member Indre to arrange the night and sent a pre-order of the food and drinks required.

First and last visit. We preordered which made service efficient. The issue came when one of our party was given the wrong order. My colleague had even rung that morning to reconfirm the order. The servers response was that she couldn't do anything about it unless we could remember the name of the person who we'd spoke to. Not exactly customer oriented. The server walked her off coming back a short time later confirming it was in fact their error!

Came here for drinks with colleagues from both San Francisco and London. Ordered a range of sharing platters, have never seen or tasted anything so bad! Burnt, sliced bread with the charcuterie selection (crusts included), very random mezze selection with unidentifiable dips - one was like a heated up runny peanut butter. Bizarre and poorly made cocktails.

Been coming here a lot for a long time. Had some absolutely amazing nights. However, I drink gluten free beer and as such am not spoilt by choice. Having previously been consulted by the bar manager about the magnitude of gluten free beers on the market and their many pros/cons I cannot believe I have been in again recently where not a single option was available despite every fridge being full of beer/wine!

I have been to a few of these in the chain as they are in convenient locations. The Menu is ok , very pedestrian, but usually not bad bar food at reasonable prices.

Went there for a corporate bash before Christmas. Very nice nibbley things, such as micro burgers and small fish & chip portions. Easy to mess up, but tghese were realy tasty. To be recommended.

Nicely decorated restaurant for the festive period, our table for 10 was ready before we arrived which meant there was no waiting around. The food was also preordered and the service was quick, it felt almost rushed.

Waiting staff munching behind bar. Eventually appeared with menu and took an order for a tea but after 15 mins nothing. Simply left and went next door. No sign they ever missed me!!! Nice interior so deserves its one star.

Food fine, wine fine, service fine. But if, like me, you’re a solo diner in search of a pre-show meal close to the Barbican, it’s worth knowing that, at 6.30pm on a weeknight, this is a loud-thumpy-music post-work-drinks bar and you will be plonked in the middle of all that, surrounded by people who obliviously leave their bags and empty glasses on your table while shouting their conversations over your shoulder. Things seemed to be quietening down (crowd-wise if not music-wise) by 7.30, when I was leaving, and if want you want is a shouty night out then it’s probably great. But approach with caution.

Really friendly and helpful staff. They expected our arrival and helped us get organised for our meeting in the private dining room. Great pastries, refreshments on hand and audio and visual equipment on site which was useful.

This place is tucked away a little off the beaten track, and does good pub food in a nice atmosphere!

We'd picked the Refinery as we were all coming from meetings in Moorgate / Finsbury Square. We all enjoyed the food and drinks. The service was actually pretty good. I had the mushroom burger and sweet potato fries - but all the carnivore burgers looked great too! Oh and the creme brulee was excellent!

Booked this restaurant through OpenTable, turned up and the kitchen was closed. Had booked for a partner&#039;s family visit too so quite embarrassing. Luckily, there was somewhere to eat nearby. Avoid!

Booked a table with a friend as a pre-theatre meal. Food was ok and edible. Nothing amazing but not bad either. Service was good and attentive. Menu was not huge so maybe good if you're passing and fancy a bite to eat.

A very average dining experience. My niece ordered mac n cheese, but they couldn&#039;t even get that right, serving tagliatelle in some weak cheese sauce. We finished with some scones, which were supposed to come with clotted cream but they gave us soured cream instead, which is just odd. Kitchen didn&#039;t seem to know the difference.

We went for lunch today and had salt and pepper squid to start (very average, go to Wagamama's for them instead!), the D&M; burger (with a very stale and on the small scale beetroot bun) and the Linguine vongonle which we were advised would come in a tomato sauce (so expected it to be thick and rich) which was nothing short of a watery mess with no flavour, no garlic, etc. Service was pleasant enough but a bit clumsy. Sorry for such a harsh review but this place needs some serious change.

Has not changed much since Corney &amp; Barrow days although with the usual refinery menu of course. Good service, food ok and drinks pricey for what they were. All draught beer was off the menu for a few hours while repairs were carried out which knocks them down .

He comido en un gran número de bares drake y morgan por la ciudad y siempre ofrece buena comida y servicio. Sin embargo, vino aquí para el almuerzo con un grupo de compañeros de trabajo para un almuerzo de amigos salir. La comida era tan buena como siempre. Tenía la ensalada pato crujiente con uno de mis favoritos y no me decepcionó. Sin embargo, el servicio tanto de nuestros servidores está a la par. Uno no era muy amable y la otra no era muy eficiente, o competente. Así que lo hemos marcado abajo en el servicio.

Wonderful place with awesome drinks and amazing food. Perfect for sharing with loved ones! We had squid, prawns, crispy duck flatbread, the trio of fries and few more - all delicious! What a great time we had, will definitely come back soon!

This was the worse restaurant I have eaten at for many years. Despite arriving on time, we had to wait an hour for the table. The service was slow. The food was a disgrace, particularly in view of the price. For example, the soup was like wall paper paste, the bread with it completely solid, the tasteless meat cooked many hours previously.

This restaurant is located in the corner of an office building courtyard, you have to look for it, it's easy to miss.The food was of a good standard, and reasonably priced for The City, but the service was either delightful or non existent. We had to keep reminding them of things, and it wasn't particularly busy. The exception was the 2 barmen, who were brill.It's also a bit dark n dingy in there, due to lack of natural daylight.

Es una pena que no se puede decir lo mismo del personal en el día. El servicio era extremadamente pobre y excepcionalmente lento. Nuestra primera comida llegó unos 40 minutos después de que llegamos, y el último se servía alrededor de 20 minutos después de eso. La comida estaba fría y tuvimos que comer tan rápido que era, a pesar de que no disfrutamos de haber sido caro. El personal era grosero y completamente nulas lo que se pretendía como una celebración. Acabé pagando yo la factura para 20 personas porque estaba tan avergonzada por haber llevado a colegas y amigos aquí. Sin duda me voy de nuevo.

Pedí la ensalada de atún con lima, papaya verde y cacahuetes. El atún era preciosa, pero lo que olvidó mencionar es que el 90% eran ensalada de brotes de alubias y el vegetal que no me gusta es rodar bean. Me arrepentí de no elegir la ensalada de pollo ahumado que mi amigo tenía. Me hubiera gustado que hubieran mencionado el ingrediente principal de la ensalada. Comí, pero no del todo. El servicio era bueno y estaba fresco el día caliente que era agradable.

Este bar puede no ser ideal para turistas, pero es genial para los trabajadores de la ciudad. La comida es sencilla pero bien preparada y presentada. Se encargan de sentar y permanente. buffet El ambiente era genial, alegre y moderno. La música era de niveles aceptables, permitiendo la discusión y el servicio fue rápido y eficiente utilizando los estudiantes británicos y europeos. Gran noche.

Visited for a family lunch after a graduation ceremony at nearby Barbican Centre. Very spacious and clean . Facilities also clean and in good order. Simple but varied menu with added benefit of accommodating for various dietary needs like gluten free. Food well prepared , good taste and served in quite large portions. Locally sourced where possible. However, prices are on the high side. Staff very friendly and offered a good service.Would recommend a visit.

Large area and excellent access for those needing it. One of the ladies in the group had a vegan salad which she really liked (see pic). Working lunch, so appreciated the swift attention and service, good location if a little noisy when more tables filled up. Perhaps some plants would help break up the sound. Food was good, not a wide choice. Sausages and mash was good, salad was excellent and burger was nice. Certainly would use again although nothing outstanding.

The refurb has made for very pleasant dining especially for business lunches. Also not too noisy so you can hear yourself speak!

Looking at a business lunch straight after Christmas was a daunting prospect, luckily this place does delicious healthy food. Its very informal and good for a quick lunch. The décor is unpretentious but comfortable. It's really for business meetings or catch ups with friends, which is all you're going to want around here. The charred cauliflower, chicken, spinach and avocado salad left me happy after the seasons indulgences - one of the best ways to get back in the swing of things. really friendly service too - thanks a lot - will be back

Met an old friend for lunch here. The service was good, seated and served very quickly which is what we needed for being on a work lunch. We both ordered the salads, they were nice, nothing special but did the trick. Not overly priced and nice surroundings.

The menu was quite diversified. We were given the option of both salad and chips instead of either or which is a welcome change to either/or!

Staff really pleasant, attentive and great to talk with. The setting and ambience was great as well.<br /><br />Only problem, I went for the pulled pork special main and it literally only had about one 5cm x 1.5cm piece of pork shredded into about 6 or 7 small strips that you could barely taste. The rest of the plate was just toast and lettuce.<br /><br />Would have said something at the time but, was with a client and didn&#039;t want to upset the ambience.

We went here after works for some drinks and nibbles. It was a lovely day and we managed to get a table outside in the square and slowly increased our real estate as other people moved on. We ordered beers and wine and a selection of hot snacks some time later. The waitresses were pretty attentive and kept us fed and watered. It isn't cheap, but it was all very enjoyable and was convenient from our office.

I booked this venue predominantly as we wanted to have lunch in an outside area.It was our staff summer day out last Tuesday and I pre-booked all the food in advance for 32 people. I was very clear about my expectations and the standards I was expecting from the lunch. Sadly, they were not able to follow through. I was told on the morning of the venue that we could not sit outside as already pre-booked, due to the wind-tunnel and weather forecast, even though no rain was forecast for the day and we were happy to sit there even if the weather dipped a little. I now realise they did not want to have to carry all the food out to the outside area.The service was very slow, the starters were not on the table as they were supposed to be when we arrived at 1.00 p.m. The main course did not come on time either (which meant some people had to leave early and rush back for meetings) and when it did, we had to ask for the mustard &amp; ketchup to be put on the tables, as they were not already out before the burgers arrived!The ice-cream arrived melted in all 32 bowls and looked like soup and we were told that it was because the kitchen was so hot! This is just a ridiculous explanation as to why the bowls were sitting around before they were served to us.Some staff since complained to me that the red wine was off. I made my complaints known before we left but did not feel they were taken on board in the manner of which they should have been and I was still charged the full service charge!It was not what I was expecting from Corney and Barrow who have been so long established in the City. We met up here for drinks and dinner after a meeting. It was a lovely evening, but we sat inside. We started a tab and ordered a few snacks with our drinks to keep us going. By the time everyone had arrived, we were shown to the room in the back for our meal. We had been asked to order our starters, main meals and even drinks in advance, a week I advance in fact. How bizarre is that. We cancelled the drinks and struggled to remember what we had ordered. The starters a were all to share. There were some odd things like haloumi and sweetcorn. There were only a few choices for the main meal, so I had opted for a couple of starters instead. We didn't have desserts, as a few of us needed to head out. It was the first time I had eaten in here, other than snacks with drinks, and will probably be the last. There is just too much competition in the area to be average.

Corney &amp; Barrow were once the place to be and set a new standard for bars in London. However, tht was back in the mid 90s and whilst everyone else has moved on they have not changed at all.So many better places to eat and drink, I would only come here for the sake of convenience
