Corner chippy in Wyre

wasted journey for the 3 rd time in the last 6 weeks, the place is always closed with no notice in the window. i wonder if it has closed !

Excellent service, great fish and chips and a added touch which made all the difference, we were offered a slice of lemon with our fish. Most diffinately order from this establishment again in the future.

On a cold winters night what could be better than chippy tea. Fish, Chips and peas has been our Friday night treat for years and we always go to the Corner Chippy. The welcome from Karen and Glen is always as warm as the heated display counter. The fish is freshly cooked to order and the portions are generous. Thank you.

I've patronised the Corner Chippy over the last few years as its fish and chips- although sparing- were quite good. However, on Friday I ended up walking out of the shop, and I won't return. Why? Simply because of the poor service. On Friday I went, as often is the case, to find the lady gassing away to a customer. (I was the only customer but she kept on and on and on..... After fifteen minutes of being totally ignored by her I decided to leave. On reflection there was a bad attitude even before. For example one night I came in for an order for not only my wife and me but also for a friend who lived in a different street. I placed my order and asked for two separate bags. The same woman refused to give me a second bag!! Petty or not?

Typical Fish and Chips shop, the fish was very small, and therefore expensive. I had been a few weeks before and I wondered whether I had bought a small fish, again very small, won't be using again

great tasting fish n chips, plentiful and well cooked at a reasonable price but the kids all had pie n chips and non of them liked them !!!!

I pre ordered a big order for family & friends to go down on the beach to have lunch the corner chippy thought of all the little extras I needed without having to ask they made sure we had forks, napkins extra trays gave us a tub of salt and bottle of vinaigrette. It was my first time at this chippy and I will definitely go back

scratty chips and they don't serve large fish only small or regular, I was told the regular are a good size but it was too small ! tasted good though. shame about the pies, there are so many good pies in the area such as faradays, the family bakery and the pork shop yet unfortunately they only serve the bottom-of-the-barrel basic hollands commercial mass-made rubbish! it lets the quality of this chippy down.

Probably the best chippy in Thornton-cleveleys for fish n chips, sausage, musy peas and curry sauce but the pies are a let down with only the air filled default mass made Hollands pies available.

A real gem of a chippy. We moved over from Whitby so know a thing or two about F&C's, so trust me this is well worth a visit. Situated on Beach Road (where we live) a quick glance along the road, will tell you if its open, as the flag will be flying and you will be in for a real treat. Your fish is cooked to order, so make sure you speak up when you enter. The owner operators are super friendly folk and will look after you properly. Fish suppers have of course gone up in price due to rising overheads, but this is worth every penny.

Went on the beachfront on sunday and it was packed with people sitting on the benches eating ice cream and fish n chips and yet despite the corner chippy being the best chippy in the area was closed although obviously one of the busiest days in season also a few weeks earlier after attending a Fleetwood football match on a saturday around 20 of us went to the corner chippy at about 5.30 pm but it was shut then aswell. We usually have fish n chips on a Monday after slimming world but again shut ??? Kays are getting all the overspill from here and seems to retain its customers. More staff needed to open more regular.

This could be the best chippy in Cleveleys if it was open more (6 days a week mon-sun) but its always closed ! also unfortunately they only offer the poor Hollands pies which are poor quality & content, they should get their pies from the Family bakery in town or Shirley's pies (available at Cleveleys market on Wednesdays) If they did they would be the best chippy in Blackpool never mind Cleveleys.

Visited tonight after reading the positive reviews. Can only echo what everyone else says, food cooked to order, the couple serving were friendly and really chatty. Fish lovely with crispy batter, and chips perfectly cooked. Tried a scallop which was good. Definitely would recommend to anyone in the area, and will make a return trip if in the area again 10/10.

better than kays but never open ! would be great if open in the evening where there is no competion for fish n chips.

Well at last my favourite chip shop is back open, after Karen having both hands operated on. I have missed the fresh quality of their perfectly cooked food, everything is delicious, served hot and Karen and her husband are the perfect couple to serve you, always happy and smiling always asking how you are, lovely couple serving lovely food. I have never had a bad meal from here ever.

Has been closed for a while but re-opened today (Tues 11/01/2022) and the standard of food is still excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed the sausage & chips and the curry sauce is excellent. A friendly, sociable couple who run it and they deserve local support.

After a year of closure due to Covid and health issues , the Corner Chippy is back open The Fish and Chips are back , the standard is as high as ever , the owners personable and friendly , if you ate on the Cleveleys...

I have heard good things about this place but it is never open, it would do great trade if it was open till late on a Friday night but I have never found it open any time I pass.

The shop is very clean and well organised to cope with the Covid restrictions. The food is cooked to order and is exceptionally tasty. The batter on the fish is delightful and is not greasy and doesn't leave an aftertaste. The food is sensibly priced...

Wow, everything is cooked fresh and the most tastiest fish, chips, sausage and pies around. I would give this chip shop 10/10 for service, food and the friendliest welcome you could ever get. They are super efficient, the shop is spotless.

Cuando estamos en Cleveleys siempre en la esquina "fish and chips" para el té. Normalmente tenemos el pescado y patatas fritas con salsa de curry que ofrecen es muy sabrosa. La pareja propietaria es muy amable y hablador que es agradable y el lugar está muy limpio. Una vez fuimos iban a cerrar y salió fuera con algunos excedentes de patata buñuelos para nuestro golden retriever, que era un toque agradable! La señora también nos dio algunos valiosos consejos sobre donde podíamos aparcar en el paseo marítimo, sin tener que pagar! Sin duda merece la pena probar si estás en la zona.

Went to Blackpool to see the lights and have some tea spotted the chippy and decided to have a take out and go each on the prom what a welcome such a lovely couple food was exceptional

Had the best large haddock and large chips I could wish for on Friday night. My wife said she wanted proper chips so I went here for her much loved fish cakes. You just cannot beat this chip shop for quality and service. My kids enjoyed their food too nothing was left. I would recommend this chip shop to anyone and would be very surprised if anyone was disappointed with their food.

Always a warm and friendly welcome. The food is always cooked fresh, not left waiting. The cooking oil is changed regularly which is important to me as "old" cooking oil gives me indigestion. A good choice of food on offer with many meal deals.

Called in for some chips while having a walk, ate them only around 3-5 mins after and were cold and soggy. In future will drive to seniors as much better

Very friendly people cook the fish as you wait. Very clean. Not for eating in as this is the corner chippy. No restaurant. But very convenient if you need to take your lunch on the sea front. Just up the road from the fish and chip shop.

Found this by chance after turning off the main road. Very clean and all food looked fresh and well-cooked. Ordered from the Specials board - small fish, chips and peas and sausage, chips and curry sauce. Freshly cooked and only £5.35. Tasted great, especially the fish, and portion sizes were just right. Saw other customers being served and the standard size fish was a good size. Loyalty card given to us for free food after several visits. Very friendly service and would definitely return if in the area.

Visited today liked the reveiws on here thought i was going to get great fish n chips but alas i did not fish was ok but too heavly battered for me and the chips could of been cooked a little longer under cooked n no nice golden colour on the positive side friendly staff and clean establishment but for me its not all that

Visited "corner chippy" last night whilst on holiday in fleetwood just before it closed, we headed here as I had read such great reviews for it on here. Corner chippy did not dissapiont! Great tasting, good size portions and a good price too. We got talking to the owners while my cod was being freshly cooked and mentioned we had a dog, they threw in free sausages for her (as they were going to be thrown away) and we got double portions of gravy and curry sauce too. All in all a great chippy with lovely owners! :)

This is the chippy I usually visit when over the blackpool/Cleveleys way. It has been closed recently, it has reopened this week to my delight, so I had to go! May I start with nothing has changed, the food was amazing (I had fish and chips, with the fish cooked fresh as I ordered it). Great service from a lovely couple which makes my visits even more enjoyable. So if your ever in the area this is the chippy to visit!!!

I've only called in here a few times but I have to agree with the ratings that folks have given to the Corner Chippy. The food is good and the price is right but if there's one thing they have over the other decent chippies in Cleveleys it's the selection of fish.Most chippies have cod, some offer haddock, but not many have hake and hake can make a nice change.The couple who run the place are pleasant, the place is spotless and there's nothing they need to learn about putting together an excellent fish and chip supper.There's lots of competition in the Fish & Chip trade in Cleveleys, any place that doesn't get it right doesn't stay in business long, the Corner Chippy is hard to beat.

The Corner Chippy on Beach Road is an Established Professionally run Business owned by a Lovely and Welcoming Couple. The shop and equipment is always clean and tidy and the property well maintained. The food is Excellent and is properly cooked and served. The prices are competitive and the portions ample. I have for over 4 years travelled the 2 miles from my house for my Friday Fish and Chip Dinner, there are chippies much nearer but they cannot beat the Quality, Price and sheer Customer Focused Corner Chippie. I would Highly Recommend a visit, You Will Not Be Disappointed, take it from one who knows

This is the biggest fish and the best i have ever eaten, complimented by excellent chips. We have been many times now and the quality of the food is always first class. Owners very pleasant and friendly. Very highly recommended for anyone who is looking for a fish and chip take away in cleveleys.

Been here for the fist time tonight after recently moving to cleveleys. I have to say it the beat chippy I have been to in the fleetwood/cleveleys/blackpool area!!! I'm from Yorkshire so use to have scraps and scallops and I was amazed they had both! Also the Cury was proper chip shop Cury with bits not chinese crap what burn a your mouth! Will definitely be back and recommend to friwnds and family

I work around the area and recently went in for lunch. Lovely staff, very welcoming and friendly. Good portion size and well worth the money. Not been able to get back in yet but would definitely do so when I'm next passing. Nothing nicer than a tray of hot, tasty chips whilst sat on the front having a break from work.

Firstly I would like to say you could not meet nicer people than the couple who own this chippy. I had the special today which they make on the odd occasion. It was sausage in onion gravy. Value for money and it was perfect. If you ever get chance to try this special do so.

Absolutely fantastic chippy! The proprietors are welcoming, accommodating and offer superb all round service. The cod is my favourite and is cooked to order. I also love the curry sauce and the chippy is just a short walk from the beach front. You cannot beat fish and chips with a sea view! X

Me and the wife stumbled on this cracking traditional chippy on our way to the fireworks display in Blackpool. As we are both fish and chip lovers we have been to countless chippys all over the country , we have tasted a few very good ones and many more average/poor ones .This chippy however is certainly one of the best we have ever tasted, we both had fish and chips as we always do, the fish was fresh and of good quality with delicious crispy batter .The chips were just as we like them cooked to perfection and very tasty. I had a tub of very tasty curry sauce and we both had teacackes or barms as some call them and they were also of very high quality .It was Friday t-time when we visited and it was full of locals whom the owners knew most of them by there first name which to me must mean they visit regularly so I assume the food is consistently good. If your in the Cleveleys area this place is well worth a visit it is only a few minutes walk from the sea front . Great food great service reasonable prices and a spotless shop. Its a 5 star rating from me and the better half.

Decided to go here after reading the reviews on trip advisor. It was pretty good as far as chippy meals go. We wouldn't necessarily make a special trip again but would go in again if passing. I Felt the chips had been hanging around a while. I couldn't quite eat all mine but my girlfriend demolished hers. Pretty decent price wise.

Being local, I really should visit more often as I am never disappointed, food good, staff friendly and place clean. Well done!

Moved up to Cleveleys from the south almost a year to the day and have tried all the fish and chip shops in the area. I would have to say that the food and service is second to none and am always very satisfied time and time again. Easy parking if you drive here as I do to get your delicious chips which is a plus also.

I have been going to this chippy for more than 10 years now, they have never let me down, always taste amazing,they are the best fish and chips I have ever tasted much better than the overrated Seniors!EXTREMELY RECOMMENDED

If you are looking for proper fish and chips look no further...this would be one of the most popular chippys around if people knew it was there, certainly worth seeking out. I have recommended it to many people who didn't even know it existed, they not go regularly.Nice thick chips cooked to perfection. Not over done crispy rubbish. I used to go to a chippy closer to work until I tried here, I've never been back there since. The few times I have had the craving for fish it has been perfect- tastes like it has just been caught, nice flakey batter.As someone else has mentioned, the steak puddings are unbelievable, it's very rare I don't get one- it got to the point that Karen would have my pudding and chips ready for me before I had even reached the door.

Stumbled on this little chippy whilst getting lost! Very nice people and very friendly. This was the best cod I've ever had from a chippy and was complemented by the batter..... Even the peas were real soaked peas and not the bright green dyed ones. My wife loved the chips too....

I've been using this chippy for many years now and feel impelled to tell you of a truly fantastic and tasty traditional English chippy the proprietor s are very endearing people the food on offer is of the highest standard and also well priced if you are in the area it is well worth a try 10 out of 10 all the time

This is a really excellent chippy, the food is always fresh and great value for money. The owners are very friendly and attentive. I would recommend the Steak puddings they are yum!

For the time being this is our go-to fish and chips in the area until somebody beats them!Certificate of training and other cert.s are displayed inside the shop.The fish and chips served are standard with a consistency, nothing to criticise. Fish was made to order.The couple that were in the shop are friendly, but they may probe too much into your private life. I'd like to think they're just being nice. They also seem enthusiastic about making and serving quality fish and chips.Beware if you order the 'special' fish and chips you only get half a portion of fish and chips. Full portion recommended. Also do not rely on the ad-board they have with the cards of the traders (who are also their customers) in the area, one of them is a real crook.If you're after everyday fish and chips, you'll find some here.

I visit Cleveleys on a regular basis with my family and after the penny arcades , a visit to Corner Chippy is always a highlight..The food is always fresh and delicious , you can taste the sea in the fresh fish instead of the frozen variety offered in surrounding areas.The portions come in a variety of sizes for all appetites and the Holland's Pies and Home made gravy , never fail to satisfy.A short stroll to the Beach and your dining experience is complete.The owners are really friendly and genuinely appreciate that you have taken the time to come by .It is easy to be enticed into the Neon signed , same bland fayre chipshops in Cleveleys , but venture to the Corner Chippy , you will not be disappointed and will always be back , as a regular and a friend

This is a really good Family Run Traditional Fish and Chip shop.They have all the traditional fish & chips foods you want without any fuss. This shop is also within walking distant from the beach.Plenty of FREE parking as well.

How fish and chip shops used to be and should be. Great freshly cooked F&C, spotlessly clean and friendly service. Will return.
