Took my Dad back to his favorite cafe after moving to Cramlington last year. The staff welcomed him back, as did some of his old friends and regulars. Dad has his favorite scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, I had scrambled eggs, perfect. Then the traditional cappuccino and I had a decaf latte always good. Great atmosphere, lovely staff, and great food, what more could you ask for ! Thank you team.

I was looking at what they had on show in the cake area and then got told I need to be in the queue without looking, how rude is that. (VERY RUDE) I always got told look before buy, use of common sense wouldn’t go a miss. Nice place but I won’t be back in a hurry

I was extremely disappointed with my experience today. We went for brunch. Firstly we had to ask for condiments twice. Part of are brunch was toast for two it was chucked on a plate for us both to use. We had no individual side plates. Also the sausage was very basic & tasteless & hard. Previously I gave this place good reviews I have now deleted this review in all good conscience I couldn't leave it. This isn't the first time I have been disappointed with the Morpeth larder in resent months there is a visible decline in the standards & quality of the products available.

What a lovely place to go whether solo or with friends. Fantastic staff- nothing is a problem. Quality food, no matter what time of day! So welcoming and its shelves stock a huge variety of interesting consumables. Anyone who criticises the Morpeth Larder must have a very unhappy life!!

I’ve had too many unpleasant experiences here, to the point that I would never return. I asked for cream with my coffee, normally a normal choice - 50p extra and I can’t remember the cost of more butter to spread on my toasted tea cake. The service was really slow and not very welcoming. Now I just walk straight past and go somewhere else. There are plenty other coffee shops and when you get a poor experience, people will just vote with their feet. Take note Morpeth Larder - poor show all round.

Vibrant cafe in an excellent location at the head of Sanderson Arcade. We were fortunate enough to be seated outside under the shades, great for people watching! Tough choice between the full English and a large home baked scone - full English won on this occasion. We are hoping to return soon

These must be reserved for regulars is all I'm going to say. We were denied them and told all they had left were these two other types so had something else instead (I had a honeycomb crunch which to me tasted like neither). However when walking round the premises afterwards to use facilities I saw two people with cheese and fruit scones. Must only get them if your face fits and you're a regular. Second visit to this place and it's been Mediocre but you're a captive audience in Morpeth as there's not much else going on there.

Popped in while waiting for a bus at adjacent bus station. Ordered 2 teas, a cheese scone and a toasted teacake. All delivered quickly and politely. Request for an little more butter turned down as it is 'rationed'. Not asked whether wanted cheese scone warming. Teacake on the thin side but a nice flavour. A bit pricey. Got the impression that everything was being done to minimise customer satisfaction, in order to improve profit.

Really quite expensive for what you get. A classic salad consists of a spoonful of couscous, a bit of salad and a spoonful of coleslaw - for nearly £9.00. Very poor value.

Tried here for brunch. My mum wanted just an ordinary filter coffee. Apparently these come in two different sizes. I wasn't at the time asked which size I wanted. They are the same price it seems. The coffee came in a mug a chipped mug I hasten to add and was warm ish. But freezing cold by the time the food came. Apparently only a cup comes with 1 free refill. But as it gone cold my mum just asked for it refreshed, apparently this isn't the rules which I understand but the coffee was poor and it wasn't explained to us. I was asked who served me ( I wasn't pointing out because that's not fair I'm not about grassing young people up) but after much polite but firm resistance from my mum they topped the coffee up. The food its self was ok. Nothing special or amazing. Had to go ask for salt and pepper never mind ketchup. Lots of little things to tighten up to make it perfect.

Never been to a cafe in my life where they don't want to part with their sugar. It's brought to the table and you can't take what you want. Asked how many and that's it. Honestly it's so begrudgingly given. Apart from that the foods not that great and the prices are high. Been once or twice and never improves. Never going in again.

ordered a childs meal and could not believe what was included. I would expect a sandwiche, pkt crisps and maybe a piece of fruit plus a drink for £3.95. This does not sound unreasonable. What it actually consists of is 1 slice of bread with cheese in plus approx 8 crisps on a plate. Yes thats it. When I asked where the drink was I was rudely told that it was another £1.75 for a small carton. When I asked for my money back I was told no as the child had eaten the 2 small sandwiches, so on top of being ripped off they would happily take the food off the children.

We only called in for tea, as we were killing time before catching a train. The staff were wearing face coverings and only one group were allowed at the counter at a time. The staff were friendly and chatty. Order and pay at the counter and your order is brought to your table. Complained to the waitress about the waiting time and incorrect food - to which she replied “have you complained to the girl on the till” !!Despite there being plenty of staff behind the till and not being very busy the wait was unacceptable as as the wrong food !

We called here twice on our recent walking day around the Morpeth countryside - once before we set off and again when we returned to town. Coffee was good. I didn't enjoy the cheese scone as for me it tasted too strongly of mustard but that is a personal taste matter. Late lunch was good and we were very pleased to find a very good range of options for vegetarians. There are tables indoors and out and people are asked to respect pandemic controls including wearing of masks when entering which is good.

Called in with parents on Thursday, all outside tables were occupied so we ventured indoors, there weren’t any table big enough available to accommodate us (dad is in a wheelchair) but a lovely lady & her daughter moved so we could be accommodated.Simple order of 3 lattes & a bacon butty, service was good though queuing at the till is a tad confusing as people were queuing from both sides, that aside the coffees arrived with the butty shortly afterwards & one of the staff who knew my parents took time out to have a little chat with them & ask after their well-being which was lovely & mum was touched by her words & those of others who hadn’t seen them in the Larder for a while, you never know what people are going through but kindness & thoughtful words make such a difference, well done Sarah!

We popped in for a late meal at 4pm (advertises it closed at 5) and ordered and sat outside. Staff were lovely serving us however we were made to feel very uncomfortable, a male member of staff came charging outside and slammed chairs/tables stacking them up around us in a mad rush before returning inside. He didn’t even approach to ask if everything was okay. I’d understand if it was a few minutes to closing but it felt very much unwelcome! It left us feeling uncomfortable eating our food at only ten past four. Such a shame as the food was lovely - I do hope his rudeness does not reflect the rest of the staff.

LunchAfter several coffee and cake visits , we decided to visit for a late lunch , 3 of us used the ap at the door , on recommendation of the staff , then went to counter to order , felt a bit uncomfortable 2 staff with a customer at table opposite ordering counter so space restricted . We started to order , and piece of paper put on counter , we said we didn’t need that , and assistant said we had to fill it in , we said we’d used the ap , then subjected to more ‘Grilling ‘ . Appreciate you have to have things in place , but maybe the ap at the door isn’t that good as the counter assistant said she hadn’t seen us do it , is that part of her job ? Would have been 5 stars if this had gone as smoothly as our last visits , food and table service was excellent.

I booked in for an Afternoon Tea for myself and my grandma, who had been isolated in her home for 5 months and has always loved The Morpeth Larder. We were also visiting during the Eat Out to Help Out scheme so it was incredibly busy with a very long line out the door. Having to wait in a queue was completely understandable as they have clearly taken the new social distancing measures very seriously and my grandma was very reassured by this. The staff were clearly working incredibly hard to get all customers seated and served as quickly as possible and they were so polite and friendly. Once we had ordered, our food was served within ten minutes. My sister, who is vegan, had also ordered a vegan meal so for all of this food (with dietary requirements) and our drinks to be served so quickly during such a busy time is a testament to the staff. Needless to say, the food was amazing and the scones are to die for (as always!). The social distancing measures in place also ensured that my grandma felt incredibly safe and she thoroughly enjoyed her first outing at her favourite place. Thank you!

Popped in for lunch. Can’t say I like the way they are dealing with social distancing. We were given a table but couldn’t sit down and read a menu. We had to make our mind up at the till there and then. It’s a large menu that we’ve never seen before so we’re under pressure to choose very quickly as others were behind us and couldn’t get served until we had finished at the till. Very uncomfortable. Had quite a long wait for food but it was busy. They brought 2 meals but totally forgot the third. After waiting a while, we had to tell them. They were apologetic. The jacket potato was very nice. The prices were on the high side though. The plastic dividers between the seats are so clear, I actually didn’t seen one and tripped right into it. Good food but better ordering system needed.

We were in Morpeth for the day and knowing the name of this place we decided to have a late lunch here. The cafe is centrally located near the bus station but I have to say the layout seems odd. One side is the shop but there seemed to be little local produce on the shelves apart from locally distilled gin and beer. Also a lot of the shelves were empty but let’s give it the benefit of the doubt and maybe it was just because it was shortly after Christmas. The other side is for the cafe and I think that the tables are too close together. We ordered two paninis and two coffees. Can I suggest that in future they are all brought together? The coffees arrived ten minutes before the paninis and we had already drunk them by then. Also my partner who works in the grocery trade told me that the coffee beans were poor quality but as mine was quite sweet I couldn’t comment. The food was well presented but my panini wasn’t very hot. Overall not impressed, sorry and we are unlikely to return.

Nice place in very handy setting right next to the bus station. I had corned beef pie which was delicious but the salad that came with it was truly awful, shrivelled and slimy. The edges of the lettuce were brown and the Lollo Rossi lettuce was black. I pointed it out to a supervisor who agreed it was not fit to eat. Her explanation was that they had the salad ready washed and delivered in bags. All they had to do was open the bag and put a handful of salad on the plate. I would suggest that next time they look at what they are putting on plates before serving it to their customers.

My wife and I decided to take a drive out on Easter Monday although is was raining heavily. Morpeth on only 15 miles away by car and we knew there would be a good selction of coffee shops/cafes etc. We visited a place where I had not been before, The Morpeth Larder. A nice cafe come shop selling local and national foodstuffs. It was not very busy at about 12:30pm. We found a table by the window, looked at the large menu choice and ordered our food at the counter. I had a smoked cheese and red onion panani with a pot of tea. It came with a salad garnish and crisps. Nice and hot and filling. The tea was also hot and tasty. My wife had a baked potato and beans with a salad garnish. Again well cooked and tasty and very filling, with a pot of fruit tea. The service was quick and very cheerful. We were served by a young lady called Sarah, who had a permament smile on her face with plenty of eye contact. Cannot fault this place, very easy access and VERY clean, kitchen area well organised and the toilets were emaculate! Our lunch cost I think £17.00, very good value and well worth the cost. After lunch were checked out the retail area where we bought 2 packs of fruit teas and a trio selection of local beers. This Cafe is situated next to Morpeth Bus Station and is easy to find and parking is over the road. Parking is by disc only and free for 3 hours. Get yourselves there!!!!!

Two of us went in, very busy, however, got a table for two. Lovely menu, lots to choose from. Decided on an Afternoon Tea. Got our choice of sandwiches, scone and cake. All three were delicious and plentiful. The service was excellent. Highly recommended.

Called in here for lunch having seen some great reviews for this place, we were very disappointed. Dave had the breakfast which was adequate, I ordered a jacket potato with coronation chicken. The coronation chicken came in a tiny little dish sat next to the jacket potato which was barely cooked. We will not be returning.

I came into the morpeth larder with my sister and we treated oursleves to an afternoon tea. We had a table reserved by the window and despite being busy, we were served quickly by the extremely friendly staff. When the food came I wasn't sure I would be able to finish it, there was loads! You had a choice of sandwiches off the menu (i had goats cheese and sundried tomato as well as cheese and apple chutney) and being vegetarian I was catered for really well. Their scones are always great here, so no disappointments there. A couple of weeks later I stopped by the cafe again for their goats cheese and sundried tomato sandwich, which is to die for!!

We found the food here overpriced and the cafe seating area cramped, especially for young children with prams.

I recently came in for an Afternoon Tea for two and it was absolutely delightful. The food was amazing and the portions were so large we had to take some of it home with us. I had heard the homemade scones here were lovely and they did not disappoint! The selection of tray-bakes and cakes was also very impressive and the Orange cake in particular was lovely. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and the service was very fast considering it was so busy. This was by far the best Afternoon Tea I have ever had and I will be going again soon. This has to be the nicest coffee shop in Morpeth!

Had a yummy lunch here with my mum and baby daughter. The staff were very friendly, good service and excellent value for money. The panini that I had was overdone a little but the filling was yummy. I’d like to go back to try the cakes! Centrally located and cozy atmosphere.

Visited this for afternoon tea. What a find. Service was polite, speedy and efficient. We were thrilled to find this place. On top of this, they sell a really good and interesting range in their shop. Toilets clean.Food (tea, scones, cakes) was delicious. If we are visiting the area again, we are definitely making a b line straight for here.

Went here with couple of friends for coffee. Waited at a table full of used plates and cups for nearly quarter of an hour for a cup of filter coffee and had to ask twice for table to be cleared. Granted the café was busy but this was disappointing as it's quite a nice little place - there's so much competition in Morpeth we wouldn't hurry back. Nice enough selection of cakes, scones etc and good coffee menu with disabled access and large toilet. Staff were friendly enough just not terribly efficient on the day we visited.

We have visited here a couple of times in the last month and have found the food much fresher and better value than other cafes in the area. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable and portion sizes are good. The menu is varied- having sandwiches, pies, quiches, jacket potatoes, paninis, soup, scones, muffins, tray bakes, cakes and more! I would recommend the coronation chicken sandwich. It comes with a small salad and crisps. The sandwich has a lot of filling and is a lovely flavour. I’ve also tried a couple of the traybakes- the tiffin and the honeycomb slice which were both very tasty. I would definitely choose to come here for lunch or a coffee over the other options in Morpeth.

Situated next to the bus station lots of people pop in for a cuppa whilst waiting for their bus. However, the varied menu provides sustenance for all. From scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, quiche, baked potatoes to afternoon tea. This is not your usual greasy spoon cafe adjacent to the bus station. Well worth a visit

This place is situated in the bus station Morpeth so is handy if you are looking for a coffee on your arrival or departure. We ordered scones and coffee. The scones were delicious and still warm from the oven. The staff were friendly and we did have to wait long for our order. This is our second visit and we would certainly return.

We have visited here quite a few times but have not got around to writing a review. However today we had a walk to Bothal and arrived here very hungry. The food was great, ham, cheese and chutney on brown bread very good, lovely tasting cheese and good ham. Delicious crisps on the side and lovely salad. Would have got 5 but tea was average. Service excellent.

Large chain, standard menu offerings, busy, noisy setting, but good sea views, nice outside area. Food came quickly once managed to order at the busy bar. Burger sauce was the best item. Small burger Pattie, creamy coleslaw, hubby had monkfish scampi, bit over battered. Both sets of chips under cooked, when we were asked how our meal was, our reply was just received with blank stare and no response before waiter cleared our plates and left! Buffet breakfast the following morning as we expected! Basic sausages, overcooked black pudding, the bacon, mushrooms and hash browns ok, had run out of baked beans, but at least you could order different eggs if didn’t fancy fried.

It was ok but nothing to push the boat out for. My daughter wanted chicken tikka panini but apparently had no tikka, I asked for a sandwich on brown bread cake but they had no brown bread cakes left. Really?? And this was only just after noon. Nothing special about the ham sandwich which all in all tasted bland. The dog ate most of it.
