Very friendly restaurant, we really enjoyed our meals. The welcome was very, very, very friendly. I recommend it!

What a gem of a place this is, located half way down the Royal Mile! Beautiful inside and out. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. If you want great food that’s freshly prepared, then this is the place to go - so don’t expect food to be ready in a few minutes! Prices were very reasonable considering we were in central Edinburgh! I had the Haggis Tower with whisky sauce - I can honestly say it’s the best meal I’ve had out in years - the award winning haggis was scrumptious - well the whisky sauce could have been a 50/50 but nope it was that good I could have had buckets full of it!! It was a taste sensation - even my husband who does not like whisky nor haggis loved it when he tried mine!! My husband had the Copper Still burger - crikey think there was half a cow in that burger - I personally don’t like burgers but I took one bite and I was converted. My husband had a diet Coca Cola whereas I decided to try the strawberry cider made in Scotland - it’s the nicest thing I’ve drank in a very long time We were not rushed and our dogs were welcomed sat outside Overall what a fabulous place and we cannot recommend Copper Still highly enough!!

Popped in here twice during a recent trip to Edinburgh. First for Breakfast which was really good and second for a late morning Bloody Mary, barman asked me on a scale of 1 to 10 how hot I wanted it, I said 7-8. One of the best bloody marys I've had!!!! Set me right up for battling through the TikToker/Instagram standing still looking nonchalant tourists at Edinburgh Castle.

3 girls who have the place under control. Nice, courteous and competent. We sat comfortably on high leather benches. My wife liked the Steak & Ale Pie and I had a Haggis Tower! Very tasty, haggis, mashed potatoes and the sauce was super tasty!! Full marks. We really enjoyed it!!

Great spot to enjoy a meal and drink while savoring the beauty and activity of the city. Our group gobbled up the burger, fries, garlic cheese bread, and Caesar salad - loving it all. Great indoor and outdoor seating available here.

Standard steak n burgers place - fast and friendly service. Good quick turn around of tables .

My husband and I found out here by coincidence and we loved it! Everything was amazing coctails, foods, desserts everything! The staff were amazing, they were kind, friendly and always smiled! When I came back to Edinburgh again this place will be our favorite!

Food, atmosphere and service were good, except for the slightly grilled burger bun, which was slightly black. Furthermore, a great place to sit quietly when you walk along the Royal Mile and want to eat and drink something.

food really wasn’t great and was nearly served meat as a vegetarian, mistakes happen so i get that but nothing was done to apologise or rectify the situation. eggs were awful and at the end theres a 10% service charge automatically added. also unprofessional replies to other bad reviews on here.

Terrible experience. Visited with a group of 6. Everybody had burnt toast. Some couldn’t even finish their food. Staff was okay, kitchen terrible.

Went here for dinner and had beer, North Sea mussels and haggis. The restaurant is very stylishly decorated and gives you the feeling of being the brightest star under the sky. The food was great, but I found the haggis a bit too fancy. I would have liked something more rustic. At the same time, a massive pile of sheep's innards would contradict the ambience. Therefore, it is with a heavy heart that I cannot deduct any points here. What I would like to deduct a point for, however, is the waiting time. It took at least 50 minutes from ordering to serving the food. Luckily we had a lot to organize for our upcoming hike in the West Highlands, so the long wait was bearable. Thank you very much, dear team, for an all-in-all nice evening. PS my photography skills are limited, but the food certainly couldn't be presented more beautifully. Juten hungry!

Nice place with comfortable seating on couches. My friends had haggis, which they enjoyed. I enjoyed the steak and fries to my complete satisfaction. Delicious beer and friendly staff. Nothing to complain about!

I really liked this place. Wandering around you can never be sure as a tourist which ones are nice just for a sit in and food, or if they're just pubs/hotels/restaurants etc. This place jumped out. Nice selection of drinks and easy pub food. The service was great and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere.

Went here twice during our stay. Nice Relaxed vibe but with fancy food. The steaks were the best steaks we had in Scotland. Both times we ordered medium rare and they were perfectly cooked both times. Desserts were on point aswell with our cheesecake and sticky toffee puddings. Highly recommend

We went to have a beer and entered this bar. We were a little hungry and opted for the soup of the day and the typical Scottish dessert. The truth is that both are good and the service is good. Good location in the royal mile. Usual price for being on the royal mile.

Everything was good, the price was right, but I have had better fish & chips, the sauce and potatoes were very good, the tomato soup and the garlic bread with cheese were good, nothing more, but the fish was not of great quality, and it showed. Very friendly waitresses

We really enjoyed the food at this place, it has a nice vibe and music is not too loud. Can recommend the chicken with mushroom sauce extra much.

Living at the ibis hotel 200m away, we had dinner there twice. This is our favorite part of the stay! A young, pleasant team, a cozy and warm place, and very good dishes for a reasonable price. We recommend 1000%! Maybe see you soon for a third time before we leave…

1st time having Haggis, it was lovely and presented beautifully! The staff were lovely and friendly. I'm a lone diner and sometimes you can feel quite awkward but the staff here were very relaxed and the atmosphere was welcoming. Would definitely come back.

Had breakfast here on a short city break ! Recommend by a friend and we were not let down at all ! Got a Guinness and a Cullen skink. Good taste for the typical Scottish soup, with balance in all the ingredients. Too bad I waited a few minutes too long, I'm sure it was just a small temporary disservice.

Cocktail bar vibe. Friendly staff. We had breakfast here which was nice, but not up to a good "breakfast cafe" standard. Plenty of space, most tables free on Sat morning, useful when the above mentioned cafes are all full and some even have small queues outside.

Service was very good, people are very nice. Burgers tasted amazing and the music was nice.

Cozy place to have a drink on the Royal Mile. The variety of beers was wide and the atmosphere was pleasant. We had several beers, including the Golden Ale, which was not bad.

Having read a number of positive Google reviews, we popped in on a Sunday lunchtime and were seated quickly. We ordered two lots of their Haggis Stack and a Copper Still Burger, which were all very nice. The staff were friendly and attentive and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. Should we be in the area again, we would definitely return.

Great atmosphere and visited more than once. Portions were small but quality of food and service were great. Would recommend a visit and sample the stacked haggis!

Had a fantastic experience at the Copper Still tonight! The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was top-notch. Muirinn was an exceptional server—attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Her warm personality added to the great vibe of the evening. We went here for brunch yesterday and, overall, we were quite disappointed. Although it was only 11:30, the service was terrible. No one checked in to see if our food was okay. If they had asked, I would have gladly shared my feedback directly rather than resorting to posting it online. The staff clearly need more training to improve efficiency. The waitresses seemed to be wandering aimlessly instead of attending to guests. Orders were waiting to be taken, plates were left uncleared, and at least four other tables, including ours, had to go to the bar to ask for the bill. Looking back, I regret not asking for the service charge to be removed, as the level of service certainly didn’t justify the additional 10% on the bill. The total cost came to over £40, but the food didn’t live up to expectations. Portions were messy, my poached egg was undercooked, and my partner’s Scottish breakfast came with toast that was hard and dry. I had the eggs Benedict, which cost £15 but wasn’t worth it. The only redeeming quality was the aesthetic of the place.

This had it all Beautiful and staff very attentive.. The place was full and buzzing, but they still managed to fit us in.

Delicious breakfast with plenty of choices, incredibly friendly staff, and a perfect location. If you're looking for a traditional Scottish breakfast/lunch, this is the place to be. P.S. The wide selection of different drinks also pleased us;-)

We came in for a drink before a meal. We were walk ins on a Saturday night. It was quite loud in the restaurant and the service was a little slow. We were sat in the corner and there were flies everywhere too…? It was fine for a drink but I wouldn’t have stayed for dinner.

Staff are super attentive and helpful, we came in a large group and pre-ordered which was all absolutely spot on. And the food was stunning too.

We had our football team’s Christmas night out at Copper Still, and it was absolutely fantastic! The food was exceptional—every dish was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The atmosphere was warm, festive, and just what we were looking for to celebrate the season. The service was top-notch; the staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly. It was the perfect venue for a memorable night out with the team. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back!

The trick of adding service charge and saying in small print that it is optional is a dishonest way to conduct business. Serve customers, don't trick them.

We waited a very long time before getting our order but the staff was very apologetic and generous about the bill to compensate which I command because it’s rare. Things happen but being able to make it right has to be acknowledged. The food was pretty good and we had a good moment at the end so thank you for the great customer service despite the issue.

Food was delicious and in good portions. The drinks were out of this world and Jack actually made a drink for me similar to the amaretto stone but creamier I can't say enough good things about the drinks! Loved this place!

Caesar salad consisted of lettuce and melba toast and a couple of bits of chicken that wasn't even chargrilled. Couldn't believe that this was £17! Shockingly presented too. Would never revisit this place. Heavily overpriced.

We had some lovely cocktails and a sticky toffee pudding here on a rainy Edinburgh evening. The service was fab, music was banging and the cocktails were so nice we accidentally had 3! Janine our server was attentive and friendly, highly recommend for anyone looking to escape the cold :)

My dad and I had a wonderful dinner here. He had the starter version of the haggis, neeps, and tatties and Cullen skink. He loved it a lot! I had the ribeye, and it was lovely too. The service was excellent, and they were gracious to fix a mistake I had made and they did above what was necessary or expected. I was very grateful for how they treated me! Megan was our server but I'm also thankful to the kitchen staff.

Portions were small, service was slow. Breakfast came without haggis despite saying it did on the menu.

I went in with my partner. We sat for half an hour and watched other people come in, get offered menus and get served food whilst the staff ignored us completely. We felt very unwelcome and won't be back.

Went in with my gf and we weren't even acknowledged for a good 40 minutes. Got drinks but no food menu offered and other people who came in after us were getting food. It seemed like the staff didn't want us there and it felt very uncomfortable for us both

We enjoyed having brunch here, particularly as it was snowing outside! The atmosphere and service was lovely, the staff were very kind and helpful. I ordered the sourdough avocado and poached eggs on toast and I will say the serving sizes are quite small, it had very minimal butternut squash/feta but it was delicious!!

I stopped in for some food. I had the venison and it was very nicely cooked and tasted wonderful. However they never give you enough biscuits with the cheese board. That said the cheese was nice

We had a real nice diner here. I can highly recommend it!

The staff is extremely attentive and very nice. There was a good selection of dishes and the food ordered came in a good time and was hot. The taste was very good and it was enough to fill you up. The only problem that day was that the beer tap was broken and my meal was sold out. So I had to resort to alternatives twice, but they were both very good.

Great setting. However, there was not enough staff for a busy morning. The poor staff couldn't cope.Had to wait for over 30 minutes for drinks, and food was served cold and over cooked.

The beautiful interior cannot save the poor experience. Absolutely laughable portions at a steep price, plus our waitress didn't know anything about their drink menu.

The best cooked breakfast we have eaten in a long time ! Friendly and accommodating staff, we arrived toward the cut-off time for breakfasts and were seated right away. Everything was freshly cooked and perfect. The drinks were also very good and well presented. Highly recommended.

Great restaurant, perfectly located. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating. I ordered haggis there, I was a bit afraid of what to expect, but it was beautifully presented and tasted excellent :) with a cider and I was happy :) I sat right by the window, at a corner table with a corner bench, which was great was casual. The only small drawback (for me) was that every time the door was opened, I immediately felt the gust of wind. That was a bit uncomfortable, but at the same time it speaks for the restaurant, because there were a lot of guests ;)

Drinks were good. The service was awful however. Staff seemed annoyed by anyone even being there.

I could literally eat the Cullin Skink and Cabrese Salad every day of the week! It was delicious!
