We dropped in here for tea and scones. The cafe was busy but the staff were pleasant and efficient and we didn't need to wait long to be served. Scones and tea were really nice. They had a more extensive menu but we were just here for a small bite. Good value. Would eat here again if visiting Bamburgh.

This is a very atmospheric tearoom in the heart of the ancient village of Bamburgh. The service was friendly and efficient, and the food was delicious. I had a freshly-cooked cheese scone which was one of the best I've ever tasted (cheese scones are my go-to tearoom snack). Highly recommended. Nice to see that dogs are allowed in the cafe.

We visited this establishment last year and were taken aback by the customer service, or lack of, but decided to give it another go. We were so wrong to go back! The service was curt and quite rude and we sat there seeing this behaviour pan out all around us. Passive aggressive comments to many of the customers and we saw 3 customers who only had cards to pay with being told a minimum of £10 was policy! Who knew??? No signs around but it was stated in a way meant to humiliate. We were told it was ‘probably’ on the menu but we only ordered coffees so didn’t need the menu. Would not recommend but realise they have a monopoly on the area so the only way we can show our disbelief is by never entering the establishment again. What a shame as it has all the potential of being a proper little quintessential Teahouse.

Do not go to this cafe. The staff were the rudest I have come across. We left before receiving our coffee as two members of staff came and told us off for moving a table to accommodate the number in our party. As we left a third member shouted at us from the kitchen all taking place in front of other customers. A member of their staff watched us moving the table and did not say not to, nor were there any signs. We left humiliated and hope other people will read this and and choose another cafe to spend their money.

We popped in for a cuppa and sat outside as dogs allowed. We couldn't resist a cream tea and were surprised to find even our vegan family catered for. The portions were huge and we took some home in a box! The staff were very friendly and brought our dogs a special puppacino with treats in which was a lovely touch. Could not have been better for our day on Bamburgh.

Impromptu lunch in Bamburgh led us to the Copper Kettle. Large groups gathered outside and the hopes of table were small, however on entering this cute rustic feel tearoom we were seated straight away. Staff were friendly and on hand to take our orders via table service. The menu has a great choice of hot and cold items. I went for the Ham and homemade coleslaw sandwich and it came out crammed with filling alongside a nice salad. My partner had the Bamburgh banger - sausage and cheese toastie that was also served with salad and if my sannie didn't hit the spot I would of been jealous but it did so i know what to try next time (crisps were ordered at an extra cost happily). Copper pots hang from the ceiling and the walls are covered in art work of Bamburgh Castle. On the counter in the 'front room' cakes are on display, all looking delish. You could almost imagine you are having lunch at a friends house rather than inside a cafe/tearoom as staff look on ensuring everyone is happy. Payment is made via a hatch leading outside the back which also has further seating and toilets are through a small courtyard/patio which also has seating. I'll be back again and i'll recommend to others.

We ordered toasties which were OK but one was burnt slightly, you don't get any coleslaw with them, you have to pay extra for that, staff were friendly and the tearoom was very quaint. The cakes looked good but we never tried them as noone came back to clear the table or ask it we wanted anything else. The menu isn't advertised outside, only that it says its extensive but we certainly would beg to differ that, it's definitely not a varied choice of food just sandwiches, soup or baked potatoes. It is dog friendly with an outside garden, worth a try at least but definitely not the best we've ever had!

We visited here twice during our 5 day stay near Bamburgh. As soon as we walked into the garden area the staff couldn’t do enough to make us & our dog feel welcome. They gave us a bowl of water for him & brought him lots of treats. During our visits we ordered sandwiches, jacket potato & a little darling lunch for our daughter which was very generous. All of our food was delicious, presented well & served by friendly staff. The cakes & scones we saw being served looked delicious too. We would definitely recommend this tearoom & will definitely return when we visit Bamburgh again.

Been here several times. Just called in for a drink. A couple with the hairiest German Shepherd we have ever seen were at a nearby table. Lovely dog. What I didn't like was that a waitress went to the table and hugged and stroked the dog. I followed her to the counter to pay our bill and saw her putting some cake on a plate using her bare hands. No way did she wash her hands but also must have had dog hairs on her clothes. This is not right! Will not be coming here again!

Popped in today for coffee and cake. My daughter is allergic to egg, peanut and sesame so when we saw vegan scones on the menu she was pleased. There is also a sign in the waiting area noting to inform the team of any allergies or intolerances so we were hopeful…. However quickly we found out there were no vegan scones today. Asked what cakes/bakes my daughter could have to be told she couldn’t. There was a rocky road and caramel shortbread on display so I politely asked what they contained but the waitress wasn’t really interested and just said she wouldn’t risk it, there was no effort whatsoever to try and find out what the ingredients were or to explain why she ‘wouldn’t risk it’s. My daughter was clearly upset, so not to make a scene I went to speak to the team out of view of my daughter and asked whether the cakes were homemade or bought in as I was hoping I could check the ingredients and make a decision on whether she could have anything. The waitress explained that as they were ‘severe allergies’ she would not offer anything. I politely explained that no-one had actually asked what her allergies were or the severity but she said ‘they were nut and sesame and so many- so severe!’ I completely understand there may genuinely have been nothing that my daughter could have (and if I thought it was because they were trying to keep my daughter safe I would have been grateful) but it was the attitude as to how we were spoken to and the impression we were given that we were an inconvenience that was disappointing. She already has a complex about her allergies as it makes her feel different and responses such as this don’t help. The final word from the waitress was, ‘well we are busy, so….’ And she walked away. There are plenty of local cafes that have such a helpful attitude to allergy but unfortunately I would avoid this one. Such a shame as otherwise the cakes and drinks were lovely but unfortunately I struggled to enjoy it as I

We have visited twice this week and enjoyed a variety of sandwiches: crab, prawn and beef. All were absolutely delicious, fresh and very filling. We also treated ourselves to a cream tea between us which was divine. Light and delicious warm scones, home made jam and plenty of cream. It was a good job that we walked there and back from Seahouses! Prices seemed very reasonable to us and the ambience was lovely - we sat outside for one visit and inside for the other. The staff really could not of been more friendly despite being rushed off their feet. They were efficient, we didn’t wait long for our food or drinks, and they were full of smiles and warmth. We did see one couple trying to trip them up with clever comments but the staff coped well and were really polite. Most customers were friendly though and, like us, were enjoying themselves. This little gem is one of our go to places when we visit Northumberland and we’ll visit again.

We come here every time we visit Bamburgh and always enjoy our visit. We usually have the soup and cheese scone but opted for sandwiches. We had a cheese and onion toasted and a beef and horseradish sandwich with a giant pot of tea. Not sure why but this place seems to have lost its charm that it had previously. We were a bit disappointed that they had no crab sandwiches. The food was good but not as we remember it to be and as every where the prices had gone up to around 7.50 for a sandwich on brown bread. The side salad was soaked in drizzle and had a mountain of cress on the top of it. It was just ok we would say and maybe we were expecting too much as we had happy memories of this place in the past.

We had cream teas here after visiting Bamburgh Castle. The scones were warmed so really brought out the flavour. We had the fruit scones. Lovely tea too. It’s a quirky building with alcoves and it felt a bit restrictive / wedged in at the alcove table we sat at. It gets very busy so reserving a table would be a good idea. There is also outside seating/ tables offering more room.

Went for lunch on a rainy day - had to wait for a table but not for too long. Everything we had was delicious - homemade cauliflower and mature cheddar soup with a warm cheese scone (the in-thing nowadays?), a beef, horseradish and melted cheese toasted sandwich with thick slices of succulent roast beef that looked to have been cut from a joint rather than thin-sliced packet beef, salad accompaniment, coffee and hazelnut cake - and all the beverages also great! Such a disappointing visit a week ago when we were in Bamburgh. The lovely “traditional tea shop” atmosphere we’ve previously experienced seems to have disappeared and the unique history of the building is no longer included on the menu. Staff were unwelcoming, hardly smiled and seemed disinterested in us or in other customers. The cakes were rather dry & heavy - distinctly average. We saw two couples walk out after waiting over 5 minutes to be seated because they were totally ignored by staff who were walking to & fro and we saw an elderly couple sent to sit outside because the only place available inside was a table for four. This used to be a highlight of a visit to the village but it seems to have lost its way. Such a shame!

Sadly the one item I actually went for was the only thing taken off the menu. It would be great if it had been updated but can’t be helped. I had a nice hot chocolate but apart from one girl all the waiters were sullen...

Lovely scones and tea served here along with a light lunch menu. Can be very busy indeed. Worth booking ahead. Friendly efficient service too.

Called for a sandwich and some cake following a long beach walk on a bright but chilly October day. Service was good with the two waitresses going like the clappers. Ordered crab and tuna sandwiches. Both were very good - very thick filling and served...

In summary: Service grim Soup thick and grim Atmosphere grim Decor dated and grim Price depressingly grim The Copper Kettle a quarter-full at best. All in all, a grim experience. Avoid like the plague and go to the Wyndenwell 20 seconds away. I haven’t been...

We visited for a light lunch. Even midweek the place was crowded. They were clearly understaffed and service was a little on the slow side. Most staff were pleasant but some need more training. Maybe they were new recruits... Food was adequate but not particularly...

We visited on 3 occasions when the food and service was always of an excellent standard. We particularly enjoyed the toasted tea cakes with local butter and lashings of strawberry jam accompanied with very good quality coffee .

Good range of cafe items with well presented quality food. Service was painfully slow and we were just about to go when we were asked to order. Worth a visit but be prepared to wait.

We were very disappointed this year with the food. Wonder if the Copper Kettle is under new management. My friends had crab sandwiches but you have to ask for salad garnish. If you wanted crisps then a bag was placed at the side of the sandwiches!!...

We stopped by chance at The Percy Arms for a drink and ended up eating an amazing meal-Wednesday afternoon and very quiet but the food was delicious and the service excellent. The soup was very tasty and the steak cooked to perfection - we will return!

I’m so sad to see this lovely place closed. It had great staff and atmosphere and a fantastically good smoked haddock chowder. I wish its people all the best and I thank them for all the great visits we’ve had here. I really hope that there might be a replacement cafe of such quality. We’ll watch with interest.

Our introduction to this country pub was to a spacious, comfortable, immaculately clean bedroom, with stunning views of the fells. Next dinner and cooking of Michelin quality. A highlight was the scallop with belly pork, a brilliant dish. Next morning breakfast, again flawless in every respect from the service to the produce. Any prospective dining pub owner/chef should come here to see how it's done.

Generous portions of tasty pub food and some excellent local cask beer. The warmest of welcomes for me and Razzie the border terrier and a special shout out to Adele for looking after me so well!
