Rude staff, dog hair everywhere so stunned how council food standard allowed it. Maybe things will improve now the owner pandered to his rude staff and put the go woke Go broke flag up. Doubt it though by attitude of staff. And appearance of her. Got issues. Better beer at yourk chambers, and clientele. Not grown men playing board games or rude staff with the I'm special attitude.Avoid. Food shipped in by major provider who supplies hotels Bostock lane also. Just saying

We have been going to copper cogs on a regular basis for 6 months +. We always have a lovely time. The team are friendly and welcoming and they are great with kids. We are delighted that there is a dedicated vegan menu and a number of alcohol free drinks available.

Lovely meal with family, lots of gluten free options too.

Full English :2x eggs ,2x sausages ,2x bacon ,beans and 2 pieces of toast for £11.99 ! Very good quality but too expensive for what you get .

Prices have gone crazy in the last year. Cocktails are now almost £9 each, while you can get two for that price elsewhere. A reasonable choice of draught beers and lovely food, served by great staff (including the owners).

Lovely homemade food, great service, friendly staff

Really expensive for 2 chicken and honey "sandwiches" that were toasted and basically toastie! Couldn't taste the honey at all, 2 bowls of chips and 2 coffee's..£36 , food very basic to be honest.

‘We’re going to have to charge you for BBQ sauce’ after spending nearly £30 on an average breakfast being told that sauce is extra was disappointing.

Absolutely fantastic, amazing. Delicious food and drink at very reasonable prices for the quality. Wide range of comforting meals prepared with an eye for quality and sophistication. The restaurant makes use of seasonal fruit in the menu which is incredibly sustainable and a big yes for me. The menu seems capable of satisfying a tremendous variety while still remaining fresh and not excessive. And the ability to receive a free starter with your main at certain times allows even more selection. Our service was provided by two lovely people called Jess and I have honestly not had better service in a very long time incredibly friendly, personable and helpful Whoever had control of the music was playing some really good tunes. Interior decoration and atmosphere was lovely Overall, I will be returning and I will be doing so soon! Looking forward to it

Copper Cogs is great on multiple levels. The staff are lovely, the decor is always fascinating and unique, the drinks are varied and well presented and the food is always tasty! Recommended.

Came the other night with a large party, the majority of the party didnt enjoy their food and also complaining to a staff member that it was the worse drink of amstell i had ever had, to that he replied its the cheapest lager we have. How poor is that? The quality of the burger was awful. Wouldnt recommend

Found this place when in Long Eaton, and it's really good. Went in the 1st time for a hot drink on a cold day and found it really good, the staff were friendly and helpful and our Hot chocolate was lovely. The food looked good too. A few weeks later, I happened to be close again, so this time we decided to try the food, both of us had a burger, and it was delicious and very filling. The staff were as helpful as ever and our lunch was excellent. Would recommend a visit as we will be returning soon.

First time visit, was very impressed by the service and food choices and a great cup of coffee, and not overbearing with noise in fact very quiet

Service was exceptional, very attentive, friendly and accommodating for our large group. The food was awful. As a large group we had to pre order breakfast which I didn’t like as I don’t know on Tuesday what I’d like to eat on Saturday, but as policy followed this instruction. Given the prior warning of our orders the food was very poor. I had pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, the pancakes were stale and the bacon, although visibly good quality, was inedible as it was anaemic with the fat uncooked and white slough visible; no one in my group enjoyed their bacon all remarking the same fault. The poached eggs when arrived were soft boiled which was disappointing. The bread was also very stale and tough to eat. The only sausages were lovely and again, very high quality. Im unsure if the food had been cooked in advance and kept under a heat lamp, if this was the case, I would advise against doing this in future as it ruined our breakfasts.

Went for Lunch with my mum and grandson and because Bill was working the service was good as, it isn't when Bill isn't working. Bill is also very friendly and he has great banter with my 20 month old grandson. The cocktails are also great.Definitely recommend. going here

I’ve been to Copper Cogs a few times over the last 5 years but have only ever been for drinks! Decided to eat on our most recent visit and was really impressed! Had the Van Helsing burger and it was one of the best burgers Ive had in a long while! My wife is celiac and they had loads of options for her, she had a burger as well and really enjoyed! Our daughter had a pizza and that was excellent! Will definitely be back for food again!

Good food. Exceptional service. The food here is wholesome and filling, It's not super adventurous but it's done well. My favourite waiter here is both great and sassy and I love it. Had mixed service from different folks over several visits but my fav visits include a bit of banter.

Very noisy people swearing all the time embarrassing to say the least, the place was nearly empty probably why everything echoed with hard flooring and gobby people in. Staff so laid back we had to find our own table even though it said wait here lol it maybe a nice place sometimes but not this evening

The place was half full, but a loud group of people behind us were annoying. The service was slow, and the drinks took forever to arrive. It is obvious that the 3 members of staff have their own roles, and they are not going to help the lady out behind the bar. The two servers both stood at the till at one point just doing nothing, they could see I was looking at them as if to say help make the drinks, when it's busy but no they still stuck to their own roles. We had burgers, nothing special, though We had been to the spa around the corner, and that's why we went there. We will not be returning any time soon.

Service and food lovely as always. I had to knock off a star on food and service because of one of the male server’s attitude. I have coeliac disease and I am a vegetarian, this typically makes eating out very difficult but copper cogs caters really well for this. I asked for one of the gluten free vegan burgers. When he gave us the food he said it was a gluten free burger, I kindly asked for him to confirm it was also the vegan version, he said he “thinks” it is, looked at it for a while and said “yes it looks like the vegan one”. I checked and could also tell the differences visibly after looking at my burger and my partner’s beef burger so I felt confident to eat it. However, the server then came back after I had a bite and asked me “is it definitely the vegan one then?” This made me very uncomfortable and nervous I had gotten a beef burger by mistake. I do not think server’s should ask customers after they have taken a bite of what was told to be vegan to check it that it is in fact not beef. It made me anxious to eat the rest of it. Please can this be addressed for other vegetarian/vegan customers.

Too the managment. Beautiful location and great drinks.. however your customer service and relations on many occasions has been very poor ...please do not get offended if your greeter is not avaliable on the door, and we take seat during quiter times....you should treat all customers to your establishment equal and not punish them with an extended wait for service... this is not only unfair but very unprofessional...sadly you have now lost our custom and we will not be returning. Nice relaxed place for drinks and a snack with attentive and friendly staff, can be a bit overwhelmed when busy with a bit of a wait for food and drinks.

Food was lovely and delicious, can't fault at all but the service once we had ordered let the place down. I was gasping for another drink during dinner but no one came to the table the entire duration after ordering. Emply plates were taking away after a very very long time but was not offered a menu to look at puddings which i would have liked.

Had a lovely evening at the Carols by Candlelight event on Christmas eve 2023. Delicious 3 course meal accompanied by a pianist and singer performing modern and traditional carols. Great service by all the staff, we were well looked after. A perfect start to the Christmas festivities. Thank you.

Guided by previous reviews, we decided to book a pre-theatre lunch. We could not have been happier. One of our party stated it was the best cafe she'd been to this year. Despite being very busy, staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The ambience was vibrant. There's an excellent menu and a good amount of choice for vegans. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food.

Not a bad little joint for long eaton. However we went on a week day for cocktails happy hour and spent about £80 between us and that was happy hour. Far to expensive and for how quiet it was the service wasn't the best at all. And to top it off we wernt the slightest bit tipsy which means it's either watered down or the staff arnt putting much alcohol in it. For the price it was shocking

Popped in for a lunch meeting with a colleague. Very pleasant place. Met promptly and given a nice table in a quiet area. Prompt, polite and efficient service. Coffee was very good and toasty was lovely. Reasonable prices. Very happy and will be back.

Delicious food and great atmosphere

A gem of a place in Long Eaton always happy to see you and has excellent customer service and great quality food and drink plus they don't charge extra for oat milk or soya milk.

Extending the happy hour throughout the week was a great move. The drinks here are good and the main attraction for us. Food is decent overall but pricy and can be hit and miss, their Greek salad is a crime (no place for leaves in a 'greek' salad, it should be fresh tomato, not sundried, cucumber, red onion, maybe green pepper, olive oil, feta cheese and perhaps mixed herbs, and seasoned only.) Once I had a pizza that was really burnt underneath, and overcooked poached eggs for breakfast.

This place was great. We were quite hungry after spending hours in the health spa round the corner (fwp). Starving and stinking of pool we crawled round here to get some scran as Google said it's an ok place. As it happened we turned up just as a Christmas quiz was starting, but no matter. The food we ordered was lovely, all the staff were really nice. Cocktails reasonably priced, and food portions generous. In the end we had doggy bag! Great atmosphere, tonne of veggie options also. Will go again!

First time visit here and have to say I really liked it, the service was good, friendly staff, the food all looked delicious, the coffee and cake I had were both great, would definitely recommend, will be returning for sure. I have definitely revisited many times since, feels like a little family there now, I have a regular drink and always feel comfortable.

First time experience today. Copper Cogs really did not disappoint. Centrally located in Long Eaton. Parking is available in surrounding areas all within a 100m walking distance. Copper Cogs was much more popular than we imagined, therefore I’d recommend booking a table. I chose to have the full English Breakfast and it was probably the best Breakfast I’ve ever had. Freshly cooked and served with ‘proper tea’ with Tea leaves. Just WOW! Each waiter/waitress was friendly and professional. Throughly enjoyed our Copper Cogs experience and will definitely be returning and recommending. If your after a proper breakfast experience with a great vibe, almost American Diner…ish. Copper Cogs is a MUST. The Menu is extensive with a wide variety of choices and they’re cocktail menu is huge too!!! Definitely worth a try if your in/around the area. Thank you Copper Cogs. 💫 Second Review: I visited here again as I enjoyed it so much the first time, except I booked for 20 via the website. The night before, my table got cancelled. I received no phone call, no explanation as to why. I then had to look the disorganised one and inform 19 other people our table had been cancelled. Sadly.

Came to catch up with our eldest two and the waiter was brilliant, my youngest lad loved the banter, the food was lovely, great service and for 6 people mains and a drink each just shy of £100.00 (less then £20 each 😀) hope to pop back again soon.

We do visit Copoer Cogs a fair amount of time for a meet up after we have finished work as it has a nice atmosphere and generally the staff are quite friendly in there. In the past I have had the different sundaes although I no longer have those now due to the fact that they are a lot smaller glasses that they use for the desserts and quite expensive when you take the shrinkage into account as well. I avoid the coffee as that always tastes bitter like the beans have been burnt. My friend won’t touch the coffee either due to the bitter taste. The mock tails are generally quite refreshing. On this particular visit I decided to try the hot chocolate. It was really nice, full of flavour, lovely and hot and a real treat. The presentation was very unexpected as it looked amazing! I will be now having thot chocolates as my future treat whenever we visit. It is always busy and always feels quite relaxed. I do feel that they need to consider a dehumidifier or something though as the windows are always very condensated and you can’t see in or out. I have only given a three star review due to the fact that I feel places should not be shrinking products, the fact that the coffee is disgusting and the terrible problem with condensation but overall, I would always recommend a visit, go with an open mind and think of it as a pure treat.

I booked a table for three for high tea and from the moment we arrived to the food and drink being served we had a very pleasant time, the food was tasty the drinks arrived in timely fashion, the service excellent , if you are looking for a place to have afternoon tea then i highly recommend copper cogs for value for money as well as service.

We arrived at 11:40 to be given menus that start at 12 which wasn’t too bad. I was after breakfast but that had stopped so I looked at the light bites menu and we decided to have pastries and tea cake. Guess what they had no pastries or tea cakes so I opted for a fruit scone and was told they had that which was great, my partner then wanted one to be told they only have one. Like really!! We seen they do pancakes and we thought surely given the dissatisfaction they could push the boat out and make them for us and our son. Guess what the answer was no because they put the stuff away. Unreal!! Talk about trying to get rid of your customers to somewhere else.

I came here with my friend for cocktails and lunch. First time I've visited and I'll deffo be back! The food was lovely and the cocktails were 10/10. Shout out to Ash for wonderful service and making us both laugh.

For the last month I’ve been having breakfast here. Coffee, tea, pastries, full English, all top notch, The only thing I can put a negative to is they need more staff. The staff are friendly and polite, and very helpful. just need more of them 👍

I've only visited this place once with my cousin, I'd definitely go back, the staff are really helpful and friendly. Yesterday I used the function room with some friends to celebrate my upcoming 70th birthday, it was amazing. Thank you Mx

Food and drinks always good, sometimes service can be a little slow which is the only let down

Went in an ordered a pizza to take away. Paid the full price as I would have if eaten in. I thought takeaway was cheaper as no vat added.

Went on a Saturday at 6pm. Food and service were great, and cocktails were delicious! Will definitely visit regularly from now on 🙂.

Tasty cakes and drinks, good location, interesting decor, would like to visit again for chess and boardgame nights and try the many adult beverage mixers on offer.

We went there for my 60th. 35 of us had a buffet meal which I highly recommend. Food and service was excellent. Great night

Always great coffee and lovely staff. But when we have food it takes an age to arrive. Whether it is toast on a morning, meals for lunch or dinner expect a wait and a need tk chase.

I wish I had taken some photos of this place, because it's without a doubt fabulous! My mum and I often frequent here for a coffee and a slice of cake, whenever we visit Long Eaton. I think we came across Copper Cogs a while back, after trying to look for somewhere that was gluten free. This place came up, so we gave it a shot and loved it! The atmosphere is great and the quirky, vintage vibe is awesome (the lights really help to give it that cosy atmosphere). The service is always fab and the staff are ever so friendly. Their Bad Apple cider is superbly refreshing and their hot chocolate is exquisite. They always have a gluten free cake available, which changes often (the variety is great!) And then they also have other cakes available too, which always look super yummy. Although we've not really tried much of the food, the soups have always been wonderful with some bread on the side to accompany. Their burger selection is great, with the Van Helsing being my number one favourite! Without a doubt, I'd recommend Copper Cogs as a fun place to unwind, relax and have a cuppa and a cake whilst watching the world go by. We'd love to stop by for an evening meal sometime, so will certainly be doing that in the future. Many thanks to you all, keep up the brill service! :)

This was not my first visit to this rather uniquely decorated establishment so I thought I should write up on my recent visits. It's friendly, comfortable, serves good food and drink plus it's not overly expensive. Our visits are normally for brunch and their sausage and/or bacon sandwiches are well filled with quality meat. A good range of coffee, tea and juices are on offer.

A little on the pricey side for basic tables etc. We had 2 mismatched tables of different heights put together..asked to be moved but no space. No parking. Didn't answer my request about bringing a birthday cake. Service was VERY slow but staff polite but did not pay attention to us needing more drinks or checking if we were happy with the food. Food was good. Wouldn't rush back if I'm honest. Don't feel the place and service deserves the pricier bill. Wouldn't recommend it.

Wonderful visit! Food was well cooked and value for money (although with such huge pancakes, maybe could have done with a touch more bacon and a little more maple syrup, as it didn't quite far enough so pancakes were a little over dry.) The rock music was right up our street and gave a lovely ambience to breakfast. And our server (sorry didn't get your name but I asked you to "feed me" when you asked for dietary requirements) was ace and a credit to the establishment. Would definitely come again should I ever be back in Long Eaton! 👍🏻

Delicious and tasty food. We love the ploughman’s platter to share and have never been disappointed. Book to make sure you get a table as it gets very busy. The cocktails are out of this world and are the best I’ve ever had in the UK.
