Another gluten-free haven, booking for indulgent full afternoon tea, with best ever sponge cake, along with a solid collection of teas and beverages. Well worth finding, a little ‘out of the way’ with parking at back, and on street parking out front. Delivery from local butcher’s van outside yet another sign that local know how and fresh produce combine to deliver an experience worth your travel

Went to tea room for first time today ,what a shambles ordered 3 drinks which we finally got and 3 sandwiches which we never got. After waiting 40 minutes just for sandwiches,a couple who came in a good 10 mins after us got there cooked meal and for us to be told they lost our order. They have no customer service as they should have at least gave us 1 free drink to say sorry but nothing. Think they are more concerned with take away orders than .

I regularly go for Sunday lunch and a pot of Earl grey tea the service is always friendly and relaxed. It is a round trip of twenty miles for lunch but well worth it, The bacon roll for breakfast is very nice as well.

Called in after being told about this little place and how good the foods were and believe me we were not disappointed. A quirky little place still in progress of this adorable family business. Sunday Lunches you should not miss, Breakfasts hot and came exactly as I asked it.. Great menu with vast choices it will take some of you back to childhood with wonderful desserts, Steamed Spotted dick, Jam roly poly, Apple pie, etc and all home made ( as are the Cakes from the fair hands of the Manageress. Do a left turn down Darthill Road just after the old Cinema on your left, then at end of road turn left onto Robingoodfellows lane and it is 20yrds, if that.. on left.. Metal Gates with Tea pots on.. Not a massive Car park, yet can always find a place nearby. The seating outside the tea room is still in progress as is the area, but if a nice day could still sit in the fresh air with your Dog/s. This little place is a gem a must visit.. Not 100% about disabled wheelchairs getting in or able to comment the toilet facilities as didn't go in that area..

I decided to have a girly day out with my sister in law. I booked high tea for two at this restaurant. We had a lovely time. I have a dairy allergy and the staff were very kind making sure I could eat everything on he menu. Lovely brown and white sandwich fingers with mixed salad Scone with raspberry jam and fresh strawberry's Lemon meringue cake that was both dairy and gluten free. We will definitely be back at least once a month lol our waist lines could not cope with more frequent visits. My SIL loved the old fashioned charm, proper table cloths and china cups, teapots and strainers 1940's music and pics of ww2 planes and memorabilia. It was just her sort of place. she couldn't wait to take her husband to see it.

I am awfully disappointed with my visit to the cooks family vintage tea room. I heard about it on Facebook and the page made me laugh because of the awful spelling mistakes, but I thought I’d give it a try anyway. It’s in a very weird location but I managed to find it in the end. I decided to order an onion cobblet during my visit; the mash potato was soggy, made worse by the long blonde hair found in it. I didn’t report it because the waitresses didn’t seem very approachable and all looked scruffy and as though they had no manners. The staff didn’t even seem to get along with each other let alone the customers. The way that the large old looking woman treated her chef put me off straight away. In all honesty I will never visit here again! It is awful and would recommend you swerve this old fashioned and dirty tea room.

Heard about this hidden vintage treasure and wanted to try it out. Lovely friendly atmosphere, so much to look at. We really liked 1940's feel. A wide selections of food available, with extensive range of cakes including gluten free. We was really impressed with the food quality too. Will definitely come back again.Keep up the good work

We were travelling home from a weekend in Norfolk and wanted one last treat before getting home to our real lives ... we were greeted at the door by a delightful gentleman who invited us in and offered us a table and said while he got our tea we could choose our cake ... a lovely young lady came to us and offered to tell us all about the amazing selection of cakes ... we were overwhelmed... cakes such as carrot , lemon and ginger, coffee and walnut and many more ... we actually had a delicious scone with fresh fruit ,cream and jam ... just superb. Everything is homemade by the most charming lady. They made us feel so welcome and without a doubt we will go back .

I met my friends here for lunch. Had no idea the place was there, so was nice to find somewhere different. Was quite cosy, Good choice of food & cakes. Shared a tea for 2, was impressed with the amount of tea supplied (as some places are not adequate enough). I had a cooked breakfast which was nice and reasonably priced. My friend had a sandwich & was impressed with the side salad & crisps. Would definitely return as would like to try one of their home cooked meals. Would recommend.

Personally having been before and reviewed, I wouldn't have gone back again but my friend wanted to go and it was her invitation. I really wouldn't recommend this place, they are trying to be some thing they will never be. The staff are scruffy and the coffee tastes cheap.

A very disappointing lunch experience. Several menu selections including 'all day breakfast' were off. No eggs! Why couldn't someone go to Sainsbury's nearby? Shepherd's pie was a sloppy heap of mince and potatoes with uncooked cabbage ( not possible to cut it with the knife provided). No dressing for salad apart from salad cream which seemed to have been used for making the coleslaw! Many other issues. Most others present were disgruntled. Wrong meals served to one couple with proper response or apology. We will NOT go again. Very poor.

We had just lost my father in law so was a bit spaced out from the shock, and embarrassingly we forgot to pay. But we went back the next day with friends and family and they told me I hadn't paid! I paid ASAP. And had another lovely visit. We are planning to go again for definite as the tea is lovely, the decor is wonderful and the music is the icing on the cake. Recommend to anyone. Well done to all who work there :)

Visited a couple of times for lunch and such a lovely place Everything home made, soup, omelette and cake and tea I really like the decor and the WW2 theme. I agree the exterior / yard needs tidying up but it's early days and the owner is clearly working very hard. Looking forward to returning for a Sunday roast.

Cooks family tea room is definitely worth a visit. My boyfriend and I both had a traditional full English breakfast, very plentiful portions and everything cooked to perfection! We really loved the decor inside the tea room and the staff were all very kind and friendly. Highly recommend it here, we had a very enjoyable experience :)

I have now been a couple of times to this tearoom and it does indeed have a vintage feel about it, The first visit was just for coffee and the second visit was for coffee and cake. I have to say the coffee was wonderful on both times and my friend enjoyed her cake and coffee, but I found the scone a little heavy and hard. We would have had another coffee, but despite trying to attract the waitress attention it was taking so long that we had to leave for school pick up. As a whole it is a lovely place and when you get served the waitresses are friendly and the food overall is good.

Having read the reviews, I had to try this place. To get to it, it's like walking through a bomb site! The place is full of clutter, neither one thing or another. The service is extremely slow and for what it is, extremely expensive. A glorified pink painted garage. I would not recommend this place, the waitress was very scruffy.

I was told about this tea room by a friend and my boyfriend and I decided to try it out. We had a really lovely experience. There is a wide range of teas, cakes, options on food. We both had the large full English breakfast which was gorgeous! Everything cooked to perfection and plentiful. The tearoom itself is very cute and vintage, it literally feels like you are walking into the 1950s with the mismatched tables and chairs and old fashioned photographs on the walls and the music playing in the background. Would definitely recommend giving this place a visit :)

Out of the way, and in an old hall, this tearoom lacks some decor. Slightly cramped, it has a good selection of cakes and teas....in all sorts of China and not a tea bag in sight.

Hi its Mark, I just thought after reading "CHIDORI 9519" Review, one should mention whats the point in ordering Tesco Cafe Food over Uber Eats ? Are you Sure the Ubar Eat Driver actually went to Tescos or some cheesy Fast Food Take Away ? In any case how long did the Delivery driver take collecting, Checking the Order and delivering the food ? Could that be why it was Cold ? As for the Errors and Omissions in the Food and Drink you recieved, Isnt it the UBER Who stand there and Check the Order Off before they Deliver it to You ? You know the old saying "If you want something done Properly, Do it yourself" in otherwords get off ones Backside , Walk or Drive to tesco's and eat in the Cafe instead. I've had many a Breakfast and Burger at Tesco Cafe over the years and never had an Big issue, only forgetting the Sugar or a Teaspoon with my Cup and Saucer, its hardly end of the world. I'm satisfied with service and the food.

This now served "Fully loaded" brand of food to eat in or take away. The food was lovely with huge portions, definitely value for money. The pub plays very loud music in the bar!! and very limited drinks available. Staff were friendly and dogs are welcome.
