Considerit in Edinburgh, City of

I really want this place to be great but 4/5 times I've been, I've been really disappointed with their doughnuts. Always very dry and chewy and the flavours are always sickly sweet. UPDATE - Tried again after a few years and just as awful - mocha one didn't taste of coffee or chocolate in the slightest, just sweet and the filling was filled with gooey lumps, mebe icing sugar? The pineapple and mango cheesecake didn't taste of either, just bland coconut yogurt or something. Both just vile. Such a shame.

Delicious! I had the Lotus Donut and it was so good.

My partner is a vegetarian so we made our way over to Considerit for some ice cream for a hot day.☀️ 2.50£ for a scoop is not a terrible price, however for the low quality service and final product it felt a lot less of a bargain. The ice cream had a good consistency, but had an overwhelming taste of coconut to it😬. Not an issue if that's what you're into, but it took away from the flavors they were advertised as (cookies and cream + biscoff). While slow service isn't a dealbreaker, for three people in the shop the staff moved incredibly slowly and at times got distracted. As my partner and I have both worked in the service industry, we understand the obstacles that can lead to issues such as these and are thus fairly forgiving. However, this service seemed to be from a lack of experience and attention from all workers involved.

The donuts are just average. No matter how delicious you think your donuts are, your staff's attitude needs improvement. There was no greeting, farewell, or even a simple THANK YOU. They were quite rude and ruined my happy Wednesday. Additionally, if you don't provide carry bags, how am I supposed to carry the donuts box?

The donuts here are so good! Even my non-vegan friends love it here, you genuinely cannot tell! They're also freshly made, and more come out throughout the day. It's dog friendly too, which is perfect!

Their vegan doughnuts were delicious. Although, to be honest, my favorite thing was the vegan pain au chocolat. The hot chocolate and the espresso were quite good as well. Great place for breakfast, as they have several tables, a nice ambience and a restroom for customers.

Awesome vegan donuts and coffee

We arrived and created a big line, but they got people in and out quite quickly. The spot is small but does offer some seating and a washroom if you're stopping here. We got a variety of donuts - the savoury option was sold out unfortunately - but we all enjoyed what we got. The service was friendly and quick and the price was fair for a specialty donut. This place definitely is not accessible unfortunately.

The BEST vegan doughnuts you'll find in Edinburgh, the Biscoff doughnuts are heavenly (even though they're a staple of the store). They also have a student discount :-)

Make a trip down to this spot when in Edinburgh, you won't be disappointed. Creative yeasty donuts that are soft and fluffy and the flavoring is on point!! I loved them so much I took a box of 6 back home to Atlanta!! May be the first time considerit donuts will be enjoyed in Atlanta GA! Hah! They also serve ice cream and coffee but unfortunately I was unable to try the ice cream. But something to look forward to for next time. If you're in the mood for sweet deliciousness do give them a try!

If you like sweet things, you'll love this place! the doughnuts are quite sugary and some feel very heavy but they are very tasty! they have different flavours every time i go there! i like the filled doughnuts more but I only tried one that wasn't filled so maybe i need to try another one to be sure! their coffee is not that great tho! quite bitter and the foam is also not very nice. but i doubt you go there for the coffee! 7,5/10

Love the idea of vegan donuts and they all look beautiful. However, you could definitely get away with 30% less sugar or add 50% sugar and 50% substitute like stevia, xyliyon, erythriol etc. I think there should be an option for reduced sugar vegan donuts. 👍

The cinnamon bun was good, but could've been better if warmed up. The coffee didn't taste like anything. The sitting area could use some cleaning and tidying up.

I've been a devout fan of Considerit for years! Their changing flavours are creative and exciting and always deliver.

The donuts were very very good (opulent even). It wasn’t apparent (to me at least; I hope I didn’t miss a huge sign) that all of the milk was non-dairy, so I had to return a checked americano. Fortunately, the coffee was really good black. 👍

Super amazing place! Only wanted to share two doughnuts with my wife but we ended up eating 6 🙈😅. Best doughnuts we had in a loooong time, maybe even the best we’ve ever had.

I never thought I would have a favourite doughnut shop until I found this place. Loved all the doughnut flavour options and drinks options. My salted caramel hot chocolate was delicious. It's also nice and cosy to sit in. Very cute place.

Great donuts and chill ambience. Really like the seating space but I personally expect a more chewy texture other than the solid one. However, their coffee was great!

Tried the Cinnamon roll and biscuff ice cream. Both were really nice, I thought the Cinnamon roll would be tough from its look, but it surpassed my expectations. You must try it 👍🏻 I will try new things again soon

Didn’t have any expectation for the donuts but they were amazingly delicious. From what I understand the ingredients were plant-based and that made the experience worthwhile! 👍🏽

Fantastic selection of vegan ice creams, milkshakes, donuts, homemade chocolate bars and much more. I tried an ice cream, milkshake and donuts (all biscoff) and they were all delicious, totally recommend. They do takeaway, but there also some seating. Just one warning though, they sell out quickly so do leave it to later in the day. Cannot recommend it higher.

I came here to eat vegan donuts, something that in Italy don’t do. The guys who serve you are friendly and the donuts were fantastic. Great experience

I love this place but unfortunately their doughnuts let me down the past year. Even my fave the cinnamon role wasn’t great. I got some that were flat, dry and greasy :( Something has changed. Sorry guys!

Love these Donuts. Amazing Vegan Donuts and hot chocolate to wash it down. Reasonably priced for vegan treats. But watch that you don't get there too late - Donuts have either gone or only been a couple left whenever I've been there later on.

The beer was flat, but the barmaid did a wink at me and I smiled back.

I will never not go to Considerit when in Edinburgh! The doughnuts are heavenly and new flavours all the time. The staff are so chill and friendly that every visit is fun! Featured is the boston cream doughnut and cherry almond bakewell dough ring. Both fantastic polished off with a coffee. If there is ever a line (and there often is) I can promise you its worth the wait!

They do quite a decent variety of vegan donuts. I had the chocolate orange donut and it was delicious! The staff are super friendly as well.

2 customers sitting in, 3 staff and 3 waiting at the door. Staff didn't event turn round to say, 'Sorry I'll just be 5 minutes.' they just ignored the myself and the people at the door for over 5 minutes. Food is great, service is usually good when the guys are up front. Teribble service for such a quite morning.

Visited this place on the 6/11/21 and wow will I be back, as soon as I entered the staff were so welcoming and friendly you could tell the atmosphere in the place was a welcoming place in general. The doughnut I had was a cinnamon one and was lovely

The donuts are so mouthwatering good that I come here every so often and I'm not even vegan! They sold out often so try not to come at the last minute. (btw, all their menu is vegan)

It was OK.. bit disappointing but I guess my expectations were too high.. Cookies and cream shake barely tasted of anything but cream. Seating area needs better cleaning. Naked bakery is far better in my opinion.

Considerit was absolutely great. We visited whilst in Edinburgh on a short trip and was certainly not disappointed by the food on offer. Everything is vegan and there’s a huge selection of doughnuts and ice creams available. I had the hazelnut doughnut with biscoff ice cream and it was really good. The coffee itself wasn’t the best if I’m being honest, but that’s not the reason you visit Considerit. The food was great, the entire shop was nice and clean and the staff were 10/10. Toilets were also very nice and clean. Also, the menu was really straight forward. There was a nice guy who worked there who was very keen to recommend us some other places to visit whilst in Edinburgh which was really helpful and friendly too. Thank you to the guy. If you’re in Edinburgh, you absolutely cannot miss going to Considerit. When back in Edinburgh, we will certainly come back.

I have been to Considerit many times and I can say their donuts and ice cream never fail to be amazing. I would highly recommend it.

I’m glad I don’t live nearby because I don’t think I could resist. The doughnuts… OH MY. They are out of this world. Like genuinely. How are you meant to chose 1? I’ve got 2 and I struggled to eat but that’s what I get for being greedy. Oh but don’t worry, you can also add ice cream to your doughnut and just give yourself a heart attack basically. Best part - it’s all vegan. Also special mention to the guy and the lady that works there (or was there a couple of days ago). We didn’t get their names but they’re so cool and friendly.

Friendly staff and great doughnuts! I had a salted caramel hot chocolate yesterday however I was slightly surprised by the small size of the near £4 hot chocolate. Would not go back for a hot drink, but definitely for the doughnuts!

OMG...well nice doughnuts! These treats are so huge that we share one (unless it's been one of those days when you need a whole one). Not a cheap treat but worth every penny - finally a vegan product that is better than it's animal-based equivalent. Great small business selling quality not quantity.

A great vegan outlet for delicious treats. They have a good variety of flavours for doughnuts and a few for ice cream. They also serve coffee. The flavours were better than the average competition out there. The staff were friendly and efficient in getting the orders sorted. The price is very reasonable around £2.50. I gave 4 stars to reflect the above average quality and reserve the fifth star for a second visit. Overall, I would recommend you to grab a treat, especially if you like the plant-based aspect of it.

Super yummy and innovative donut selection and loved the opportunity to customise an affogato! Only thing I would say is I was confused about the pricing as my final bill seemed to be higher than what I thought it would be from the menu card but it was a gross windy day so I forgot to question!

After waiting for about an hour in the morning for donuts, I made some observations on the sales and became increasingly annoyed as I watched how it took sometimes took over 10 minutes to serve a single customer at a time. I wish someone had come out to inform us if there was something wrong, or if there were delays to production as it didn’t make sense why it took so long. After about 45 min in the cue, the guy out front had been replaced with a girl and things moved a lot quicker as they were able to send customers to the side door for their drinks and serve other waiting customers in the mean time. Please implement this method every day, as I can see from my flat the queue is equally as long every day. 1/5 organisation. Customer service was otherwise impeccable and I’d rate it a 5/5. People there are beyond lovely. I wish I could rate the donuts equally as good, but they’re sadly 1/5 for me. They are beyond bland and overly sweet. We ordered two different donuts and they tasted virtually the same; just pure sugar. I’ve lived in Edinburgh for 3 years now and it’s just gotten worse and worse over time. My favourite, the biscoff donut doesn’t taste anything like it used to anymore! It’s just sugar and an overly bready donut dough. It’s not worth the price point and hype anymore, sadly.

After waiting in line for 40 minutes, we thought we’d be in for a treat. Unfortunately they not like they used to be and have gone downhill in the last two years. If you go in the afternoon, you’ll only be left with dry and breast donuts with little selection. If you go first thing in the morning, you’ll still be stuck in that queue. The donuts then are fresh but flavour wise, still bland. White chocolate and honey is just icing and white crunch, not even a close imitation of honeycomb and is just overly sweet. Then the biscoff was the biggest disappointment. I’m a huge fan of biscoff products but this one didn’t taste of the classic spiced biscuit at all. The icing had a strange metallic salty taste to it and was generally unpleasant. We also ordered the biscoff milkshake and the salted caramel iced coffee. Wouldn’t recommend either. The former used coconut milk with soya cream, should be a fine combination but then just came off as awfully papery and was definitely the worst vegan milkshake I’ve had in Edinburgh. And they expect you to pay £4.20 for a 300ml cup? The iced coffee was bland with no taste of caramel and too much salt. Essentials it’s just salty coffee. I used to enjoy considerit but with how far they’ve fallen, Its turned me away for good.

Delicious vegan doughnuts, milkshakes and sweet treats, open for takeaway during lockdown. Right next to the meadows, so a convenient location to go for a walk or sit down after getting something. I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu :)

Delicious vegan donuts and so many different options. We loved how they were filled and especially liked the apple one. They were a bit sweet, yet still some of the best donuts we’ve ever had. Toby was shocked to find out they were vegan, and Em couldn’t stop moaning. #reviewednesday

Amazing doughnuts. The first time I tried these I didn't even realize they were vegan until I looked at the box. They are reallt truly delicious doughnuts and the staff is kind and friendly as well. I had their biscoff milkshake as well and it was good but their doughnuts are definitely where it's at.

Friendly staff and beautiful donuts. But way too sweet for me! I understand donuts can be sweet but this one added so much topping, should consider reducing some sugar. It covers all other tastes . I can only have three bites for one day and felt unhealthy with so much sugar intake.

If I could marry a donut shop, it'd be this one. ConsiderIt donuts are exquisite so of course they are vegan friendly! Having visited their wee shop off the meadows, the staff are lovely and friendly. They also do a delivery service which is irresistible and results in only a slightly smaller bank account but very happy taste buds. 10/10 would recommend.

This place is amazing, the girl working today was absolutely lovely and made us feel so welcome. Could only take away due to covid but it was absolutely worth it! Good prices and amazing food, will absolutely be back! Brought back a couple doughnuts for our family and everyone who tried them absolutely loved them!

I cannot understand why people are cueing outside this place. It's an average donut with a topping full of sugar with some colouring. It doesn't even have filling in which makes it just a fried bread with sugar on top. Why would a place like that have so many good reviews? No idea! It was the first time in my life I couldn't have a second bite from a dessert and afterwards because of all that sugary topping I had a stomachache. Did I also mention it's super expensive too?

Very disappointed from that place. Coffee is one of the worst I have ever tried in Edinburgh, the bacon roll is nothing special and the donuts are not something more than fried bread with some flavors on top full of sugar. Really can not understand why this place has so good reviews... furthermore it is too expensive for what it is.

Outstanding vegan doughnuts. Vegan baking is so often soggy or dry, dense or chewy, but these soft fresh doughnuts are to die for. I’d recommend cinnamon sugar. Feels just like being at the fairground as a kid :)
