Really lovely all day veggie breakfasts. Relaxed and the staff are always lovely. Can be a tad chilly which is possibly an “old Edinburgh building” thing.

Nice place for a coffee and cake. Open on a Monday ( lots of Edinburgh cafes are closed on Mondays) and was quiet but pleasant, friendly staff, coffee shop music. Lots of quirky items for sale, cards, soaps, vintage treasures. Well worth a visit

Lovely cosy place with big windows to look out of. Menu is varied and what I ordered was tasty, but portions are a bit diminutive (a great excuse to order dessert.) They sell cute arts and crafts, in my first visit I couldn’t resist and got some washi tape…

Delicious mocha, one of the best I’ve ever had! Didn’t try the food, but the cakes and soups / brunch / sandwich options looked delicious. Baristas were super friendly. Also lovely local arts, tea ware and decorations available for purchase

A beautiful corner cafe with big windows so you can watch the world go by. Not a lot of seating so can get packed on weekends and mornings. We tried to stop in a few times before being able to snag a table later in the afternoon for a late lunch. Service was very helpful and friendly. Food was incredible. Really loved that the sandwiches came with a variety of salads (that day it was cous cous, green and slaw). The mushroom soup was full of depth and flavour, and was satisfyingly thick. Also liked being able to browse the eclectic collection of art, crafts and vintage ceramics (although the way stuff is spread out could make it a bit hard to look at everything when the cafe is full, without being intrusive to other patrons).

I live near this place and haven’t been that often; it’s usually been mid week, so not busy. However, the food is great and I’m looking forward to more regular visits for brunch.

Got back to hotel and realised they didn’t put milk in the takeaway coffees. Breakfast roll wasn’t a roll, it was a bun and a bit smaller than what I expected. Tasted nice though. Nice chilled cafe with shop. Staff were friendly.

Pros: Beautiful ambience, polite and quick service, easily accessible location, delicious soups, nicely made tea and coffee ☕ Cons: Worst bakery in the area. The bread that came with soup was highly elastic. The scones were dry and crumbling like a cookie. This happened on a Sunday afternoon in summer. Advice: If you can walk a little bit further to Loudons or Clarinda's Tea Room, that'll get you best tea, coffee, cake, bread, and soup at the same or cheaper price. If you just want to have a nice cuppa in an artistically inclined place, this is your stop.

Quirky little boho establishment. A little caffe surrounded by fun gifts and unusual antiques on sale. A chilled vibe with a scrummy menu. Good vegan and vege options too which is great. Lovely staff. Delish food- albeit a tiny bit heavy with rosemary (I think) which I think is an acquired taste. Had great breakfast and lunches.

Art & Vintage was recommended by our Airbnb host as a good place for breakfast. We loved it. Make sure to check out the specials before making final decisions. Husband had Scottish Breakfast and I had french toast. Some nice local items available for sale.

A very laid back arty sort of cafe, fab bakes, a great Scottish breakfast (post 6 Nations), lots of lovely wee trinkets & cards to buy, nice kind staff. Laptops not allowed, seems odd but means they’re not chewing up a table for 4 hours for the price of a latte!

Definitely worth a detour from the centre of the city, we had coffees and shared a brownie there this afternoon. We got a friendly welcome from the owner when we arrived at this lovely cafe, recommended by a friend. There are plenty of nice bits and pieces, cards and wall art (art and vintage items!) to look at and possibly buy too whilst waiting for your food and drinks. The brownie was definitely one of the best we've tasted. They do lunches and brunches too - we didn't pay too much attention to what was on offer, but the soup listed on the board (celeraic and pear) sounded very interesting!

I returned after being taken here by a friend for another delicious lunch. Both times I had the special and they were freshly made, hot, and very tasty. Great service and the food is made with love. Thank you both. There is also interesting things to browse for perfect gifts. I'd definitely return here next time I come to Edinburgh.

We went for branch with my family and we had eggs, soup and sandwiches with coffee! Everything was tasty and fresh ! It is a shop also with vintage objects and porcelain.

We visited as a family during a weekend stay in Edinburgh. My son and his girlfriend had researched ‘a good spot for vegan brunch’ and decided on Art and Vintage - a great choice. Coincidentally we were staying in a nearby Airbnb. The place itself is clean, light and airy with a local neighbourhood cafe vibe, being off the well worn tourist trail. The polite, friendly and efficient staff make you feel relaxed and welcome from the off, and the menu provides plenty of lunch/brunch/snack options to cater for all tastes. The coffee was good and I can personally recommend the vegetarian breakfast. We also bought cakes to go for the train journey home and the carrot cake was absolutely delicious. There are vintage items, cards, and art work for sale too - hence the name! I would definitely recommend this spot, a ten minute walk from the Calton Hill area, but a world away from the noise and bustle of the city centre.

Muy lindo lugar, bien iluminado, espacio adecuado entre mesas, muy lindo decorado. Tiene varios cuadros. El café muy rico, definitivamente volvería por el café. Pedimos unos pancakes, no estaban tan esponjosos como me gustan, pero muy adecuados, con plátano, maple syrup y coconut. Además pedimos un croissant 🥐 muy bueno también. Volvería por el café.

This is a lovely little cafe with great coffee, food, and wonderful art! It got a little busy while I was there but was still peaceful. Definitely recommend and will be visiting again.

Lovely little cafe with delicious brunch offerings, which are slightly different from the usual fare. I went for the open sausage sandwich with cream cheese, slaw and crispy onions. Looked like the healthiest sausage sandwich I have ever had and it certainly hit the spot. If in the Abbey Hill vicinity give this place a try, you will not be disappointed. Also v. Good value for money. Enjoy.

Tasty food and excellent service as always. The pancakes with bacon and maple syrup was a perfect size and washed down with a pot of tea. Always have great music on as an added bonus.

Great food and even better service! 💯 I came back here with family after being impressed on my visit with a group of biker friends. We all had the full breakfast which was very tasty - the beans in particular were very nice 👌. The bacon was just slightly over-done, but still tasty. We like the hot drinks as well - cappuccino, mocha and hot chocolate were all tasty! I'd highlyrecommend to anyone looking for a excellent breakfast at a reasonable price in Edinburgh.

Updating to three stars based on response from business. Still believe it's unreasonable to prevent customers using a laptop if they choose to while having a coffee. Original review: My girlfriend visited today and after ordering a large coffee and sitting down was told she couldn't even look at her laptop while she had her drink. She explained she wasn't planning to stay for a long time but wanted to work while she had a coffee, but was still refused. Then another customer arrived and started to use a tablet without any complaints. Seems unreasonable and very poor service.

Interesting place, with some art objects to sell. But the meals could be bigger and better for the price.

Great find worth a visit as food is good

This was a good call for brunch. I came for the Pancakes and my friends enjoyed their full English. There are decaff options available for coffee and tea lovers... which seems to be very popular because they were out when we visited. But my friend enjoyed her hot chocolate nonetheless. Atmosphere is chill-axed. It was a great way to start our Saturday touring after Friday night drinking.

Popped in today for our first visit cheese toastie and fruit scone ! Lovely food we will definitely be back!

Art and Vintage is a favourite and regular place for us to visit. So happy to see on our recent visit, apart from Covid rules being adhered to, things are mostly the same. Food was so delicious, freshly made, including coffee and chocolate pistachio extra 😁 New art work always adds that extra touch of interest. My lunch companion discovered a vintage original book of drawings and is over the moon with the purchase. The Staff helpful as always. Highly recommend Art and Vintage 👍😊

Art and Vintage is a fantastic cafe/restaurant/gallery. Food is very high quality and they have a weekly set menu to cook at home which is a really nice treat on a Friday.

The stack of pancakes were really dense and eggy! Probably the first time ever that I couldn't even try to force myself to try and eat more than one bite. Other than that it was good service and a nice cute place to just hang out in.

En el lado este de la ciudad hay una pequeña cafetería en la esquina con muchas ventanas para darle un efecto de luz limpia con una decoración atractiva. Si bien tenía un menú de desayuno y almuerzo, solo fui a tomar un café y un pastel a última hora de la mañana. El café con leche era muy, muy bueno y la esponja de manzana y cinnimon era divina. Muchos otros árboles dulces parecían deliciosos. VOY A VOLVER

Lovelly breakfast in interesting environment

Wir haben bei unserem Aufenthalt in Edinburgh mehrmals im Art And Vintage Café gefrühstückt. Bei sehr schöner Atomsphäre kann man dort lange sitzen, leckeren Tee trinken und gutes Frühstück essen. Schön sind auch die Kleinigkeiten, die man dort kaufen kann. Schönes Geschirr, Deko und Karten. Toll eingerichtet ist es auch und wirklich nur zu empfehlen!

29th, August 2019 A return visit with a warm wonderful sunny welcome. Last time here all trains in Scotland was cancelled, it was wet, cold and l felt drained, but being here gave me a bit of comfort and shelter. A well needed cooked breakfast after a serious night out in Edinburgh, due to catch train, loved my second visit, the owners are so welcoming and friendly, definitely would recommend the breakfast. Ps.. Has ♿ disabled access and toilet. ________________________________ What a savour, managed to get out of the rain, what a fabulous little creative gem. I loved the decor, the art and the much needed welcome. A treat of Earl Grey tea and flap jack, helped to thaw out my wet cold bones. I would have like to have spent more time browsing through the art, some fantastic things on display. What a relaxing environment. (next time when l am in Edinburgh, definitely on my list.)

Tocino crujiente en un delicioso y sustancioso panecillo, y quizás los mejores bollos de Edimburgo (y hay muchas tiendas de bollos en la ciudad). Sin problemas para trasladar a los clientes desde los cómodos asientos, y un montón de nick nacks y tarjetas interesantes si ha olvidado el cumpleaños de alguien. Intente cruzar la calle hasta la Librería Citadel, dirigida por Alan Spence, uno de los escritores más líricos de Escocia. Muchos lugareños en esta tienda de té / café.

Nice coffee and glass place: art glass, colourful designer glass, prints and good coffee make a nice combination. And the girls are lovely.

What a wonderful find on a rainy Edinburgh day!! Great quality food and homemade sweet treats - very fresh and thoughtful touches, delicious coffee at good prices. (They do not, to your benefit, own a microwave.) Also they have some very lovely curated vintage pieces and small but substantial art selection at reasonable prices. If you’re in the area and are looking for good food and curio to the sound of some chill background tunes don’t pass it up.

Love this cafe. The people working here are very friendly and their coffee and foods are very nice quality. I had the best tasting gluten free cake here. I also enjoyed the art and jewelry pieces made by local artists throughout the cafe. The prices are very reasonable.
