So the coffee denbies uses is actually really good quality and really nice but the barista's / cafe staff have no idea how to make coffee. I would by the coffee to take home but i would never buy a flat white here. Huge diseasrvice to chimney coffee.

Cozy and place neither have fresh made cakes with tea or coffee, or having food from the canteen. Besides, you got little shops where you got all kinds of gifts, especially what I like was own made soap, candles, etc - love some lux fragrance soap I got myself. Recommend.

As you can see from the photo the food was piled on without care - beans poured over the egg, mushrooms scattered around the plate.... When getting mugs for tea I had to try 3-4 before I found one I'd consider clean enough. Both teapots had chipped spouts. This was my first time here and I'd expected far better quality given the location and association to the vineyard. Not great.

I ordered mushroom stroganoff with rice and vegetables which looked very nice. I also order a small pot of tea, but the two young assistants were deep in conversation and took no notice of the people queuing. By the time my tea was ready my meal, unfortunately, was cold. Poor service!

The food was nice and priced fairly. The service at the hot food counter was non existent for what seemed like ages whilst people choosing sandwiches streamed past. A member of staff even walked past smiled and walked on without offering to serve. Eventually a very friendly staff member served me. So overall a disappointing experience.

When ordering my coffees and tea I asked wheee the tea cups were. The reply was very abrupt and in an unpleasant tone. This was my first visit here so I was unfamiliar with their system. After obtaining my cup and going to my table I realised that the coffees had been made with a minimum of coffee, was very weak and cold. The cups had not been pre warmed. So on to the expensive sandwiches. My hummus sandwich had only half covered the tinniest amount of hummus and it did not reach the edge of the bread.

Poor quality cheap bread, with a small dollup of filling just in the middle and a large dry, unbuttered border. Very unappetising. The teriyaki salmon with vegetables at Denbies is a good dish, with flavor and perfectly cooked to tender, juicy perfection. The salmon is marinated in a tangy teriyaki sauce that perfectly complements the delicate flavors of the fresh, seasonal veggies. Both offereing similar drinks and cakes, we have visitied both the Conservatory and the Hatch. The former is soulless, cavernous and feels like a canteen. The Hatch (when open and the weather is kind) is better because you can sit at wooden tables in a fenced off area. As always when coffee is on the menu, there's a wait for hot drinks (even though we both wanted only tea). Coffee machines and the whole shebang of how to make each option is very time consuming! Worth the wait for a well earned cuppa, and the home bakes are lovely, generous portions, we shared a delicious slice of lemon drizzle

Two choices today salmon (as always) beef bourguignon. Sandwiches over priced with boring plastic cheese. Shop prices expensive especially their novelty mugs, overheard one person saying they needed to speak to their bank manager before coming again!!

Expecting good things as restaurant is part of renowned wine estate but we were very disappointed. Food was overpriced, even a £5.50 cheese sandwich was made with very cheap bread and processed cheese slices. The lasagne was okay but I’ve had better school dinners, it was dry, a small portion with some dried up chips ( and it was prime lunchtime on a Saturday ) I was only served one glass of wine when I ordered two and had to go and ask for the second one. Overall an underwhelming experience with little choice of food, I believe there was a much better choice of food in the past. We think they are trading on their reputation too much………

Really disappointed in the service we received today. We weren't greeted when we approached the hot counter. The lady behind the counter couldn't answer our question when we asked, in fact not only could she not answer our question but the answer was just a shrug of the shoulders. We did not feel welcome at all. We weren't asked if we wanted to eat in or takeaway and our sausage rolls were both put in one takeaway box - I had to ask for plates. The colleagues working the coffee collection point made no attempt to greet us and slopped coffee down the side of the cup without attempting to wipe it. Overall quality of food was good and it was fresh and there was an ice cold water machine which was a nice touch. The service was poor, I definitely would not visit again through choice.

Just had the Sunday Roast and to say we were disappointed is and under statement. £12.95 each is a joke to be honest. I had no idea that a Yorkshire pudding in Dorking was a luke warm cake like affair balanced on a piece of beef. The vegetables, although plentyfull were clearly lonely as they were all put together in one serving container which obviously helped them but not the taste or consistency. I was also puzzled by the large plates that on first glance gave the impression that the forthcoming food would be a sizable portion.I was wrong, perhaps one side of the plate was for pudding ? although It did allow me the option to spread my vegetables to see what I was eating so not all bad ! . I don't often leave reviews but felt on this occasion I should .I will not return for the roast and although I'm sure this won't be read by Denbies staff I feel justified in leaving my comments.

For a lovely venue with lots of visitors local and those who have travelled far this cafe/restaurant is so so poor. Dirty teaspoons which we did comment on and was told it was the wheat they were polished with but we found some that looked like buts of dried on broccoli on. Think they just need a descent manager that over sees the running of it all i.e. clearing tables and cleaning etc. We also went to the farm shop the garlic had green shoots sprouting out of them and as for the carrots they were bendy far from being fresh. The Conservatory is a fine place to have a relaxed bite to eat, especially when the sun is shining. It gets very busy, so can be noisy. The food and drink are OK: I think the sheer volume sometimes has an impact on quality: tepid drinks and lukewarm dishes are not uncommon and the staff are not overly friendly. Fresh cakes can be tasty and there's usually a choice of hot food. It is self-service, so there can be queues. It costs a bit more than you'd expect to pay for average food. In truth, I don't think anyone's really looked at how to cater properly for large numbers: it can seem a bit amateurish.

To be sure of finding a table, avoiding excessive queues and full fresh food choices we all arrived at 11.45am and went straight to the ground floor atrium restaurant. Tables? - yes plenty but almost all piled up with dirty plates and previous customers' debris, all needing clearing and wiping down - at 12.00 noon! No staff in sight - so had to do it ourselves - great start. 4 attractive hot dish choices - beef, chicken, salmon and a veggie option, cafeteria style. The sole lad serving was already screaming for more beef. The girl on the single till was very slow and we watched our meals cooling. Almost invisible wine list (in a vineyard!) from which to make an informed choice, and the reasonably valued red wine option was actually French (!) with the local 'own-brand' at a seriously heavy mark-up (the uninitiated need to beware if you're looking for a 'Denbies' experience). With five seated we wondered what had happened to the other three - answer - there was a delay on more roast potatoes (at 12.00 noon!) - so they waited, and waited! Our vegetarian was then shocked to see the serving lad use the same utensil with the meat dish. Makes you wonder what goes on, out of sight, in the kitchen? Awareness - training? The food itself was ok, average, not particularly good value, plenty (including National Trust, say) do it far better. At least we dodged the lengthening queues. We are not frequent visitors to this restaurant, though very local, but would say this was fairly typical of our past experiences

Choices normally number three or four for the main courses, we chose the salmon with vegetables and the moussaka with vegetables. Having selected our drinks (the usual hot and cold available along with some of the Denbies own wine), we found a lovely table in the bright and airy atrium which houses the seating area. For a weekday, it was quite busy with business executives having lunch alongside the group tours and couples. Having finished our lunch which was superb, we then browsed through the gift shop and was tempted by the excellent range of wine and local beers.

I was looking forward to the office Christmas party at Denbies. The conservatory was beautifully decorated and the food was fine. The white wine that was included in the price, however was really not nice. It was British wine made from imported German grape juice and really shouldn't have been allowed out! Might think twice about trying their 'proper' wine.

I have been looking forward to visiting this place since last summer so you can imagine my excitement at finally making it on a beautiful sunny day. As we had been walking we chose to go the servery rather than the restaurant.

Denbies from the road looks extremely inviting. Beautiful vineyard set in the Surrey Hills looks stunning through all seasons. If you are thinking of stopping for tea forget it. I met with friends for an after Christmas catch up quite looking forward to tea at Denbies. What a disappointment. You walk through the shop to get to the downstairs restaurant/tea shop. It lacked any charm and just reminded me of a large canteen.

Awful in every respect. Service, atmosphere, menu, all bad. Food was swimming in grease. Staff didn’t care. They just didn’t want to be there. Never going back.

We were booked in for a birthday tea specially, even though they weren't doing teas that week. When we arrived a lovely big table with white tablecloth and napkins was ready for us. We were offered coffee and tea, which came promptly, followed by a plate of hot snacks and a cake stand containing a mouth-watering selection, including egg mayonnaise, coronation chicken and cheese and ham sandwiches. The bread was beautifully soft, with the crusts cut off. In addition were warm scones with jam and clotted cream, topped off by a selection of mini cakes. We were so full we had to take the cakes home! Thank you to Penny, who took such good care of us, and the other members of staff who made us feel very special.

Attached to the Vineries Garden Centre. We visited this coffee shop, which overall in our opinion was below par. Uncomfortable seating and a very basic layout. The service was robotic. Coffee was OK but the cakes were poor and vastly overpriced.Overall it did not float our boat.We wished we had given it a miss
