Arrived just as menu was turning from breakfast to lunch. Breakfast looked fantastic but just too late. Lunch menu, home made offerings, friendly staff and warm atmosphere. Worth a visit Great location in the centre of Wells.

The Con club is apolitical. (You have to say that as some people think it is a linked to the Conservative party). What it is in reality is a friendly club welcoming to all and serving the best breakfast in Wells. Staff are lovely. Matt, the Manager is fantastic and customer orientated. Love it there.

We’ve just stopped in here for lunch and were very impressed. A friendly welcome awaited and the food was very good at very reasonable prices. We would definitely return if we are in the area again.

Very friendly staff, serving lovely ,well cooked simple food at sensible prices in todays climate. I only had a snack and coffee today but both were excellent .If I lived locally it would be a regular haunt for me . Felt very comfortable eating alone there.

The refurb of this place is of a very high standard and the staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the food lets it down. Primarily, if you don't like burgers or fish and chips, find somewhere else. I visited with a friend and although my fish and chips were good, my friends meal was first served on completely cold vegetables. On pointing this out to the waiting staff, she offered a replacement which, we expected would be a plated meal with hot food. Unfortunately it was delivered as a pile of veg and potatoes thrown together in a tin dish. Not ideal and a real disappointment. Probably would not visit again.

We stayed for one night after Xmas shopping at the Clark’s village in Street. This lovely Inn with rooms is only 5 miles away. The welcome and check in from the lady at the desk were fantastic. She was naturally polite and helpful, not put on at all. Our room was very clean and spacious with everything we needed and lots of hot water for a relaxing bath. Homemade cookies were a nice touch too. We ate in the pub and can also say that this was a lovely experience with great food and a roaring fire. All staff were very friendly and provided fantastic service. Breakfast the next morning was also great with locally sourced ingredients. We will return, Thank you.

Friendly atmosphere and staff, and a warm crackling real log fire welcomed us. This was ruined by our four meals, that were all awful. Initially we wanted the Steak & Ale pie, which were unavailable. Eventually we chose again, 2 sirloin steaks, one rare, one medium, being, but both were overcooked and very tough and gristly forbsirloins. Bangers and mash wasn't great either, with the casing of the sausage, being very tough. When I mentioned this to the barmaid, I was told, "she'd mention it to the chef". Worst £60 meal we've had on this vacation, and won't be eating there again. Such a shame as our evening had started off so nicely in there.
