The food was so delicious and the staff was so kind👍👍👍　It was so delicious! I recommend going to this restaurant.

Exceptional food, easily the nicest meal I have had from ANY restaurant for a long time, wish I lived locally as I would be a regular!

Food was okay, I don't understand at all that you have to pay extra for rice these days. The building, decor, furniture is all long overdue for a refresh. Dents and damaged areas everywhere, just not a nice atmosphere The food is okay, but the taste isn't really convincing; it can't get more than three stars

Had a takeaway from here, Best Chinese I've had since I moved to Chichester.

Best Chinese meal that I can remember. My wife went as far as saying that's the 1st Chinese meal she's not later regretted. Decided to ask the owner what they recommended. After a few clarifying questions, the following agreed. Prawn & pork dumplings; Beef in chilli sauce; batter crisp, beef tender; King Prawn ginger & spring onion; Pak Choi in Oyster Sauce & Singapore Noodles. It was that good decided to have dessert, Toffee Apple & Bannana that was finished off at the table. Everything was spot on & very tasty. Tsingtao beers all round! I was tempted to add another dish, but the Owner suggested we had ordered enough.👍 We later heard the Owner suggesting to another chap he may have ordered enough & the 3 other dishes were superfluous! 🤣

Unfortunately I didn't like this restaurant. Very outdated interior, felt dirty and loud shouting workers. Duck noodles were OK but Duck in plum sauce had a lot chewing bits. Definitely not worthy the money we have spend. Sorry.

Great restaurant great food lovely people

Soggy spring rolls tasteless rice with 1 small piece of egg. Won ton just bits of pastry. Special fried rice was nearly empty. Used to large pieces of meat and prawns on the top. Very bad and cost us £100 for the 6 of us.

This is the second time using this restaurant for takeaway and it won’t be the last. Great tasting food and portions are great .

Have popped in here, after booking, to eat before 2 events held in Chichester cathedral. Booking was an early booking. This place is located down a side road off of South Street. Had starter & main on both occasions. Service was quick & food came quick too. Had crispy duck in pancakes which I haven't had in an age, it was delicious. This place feels like the Chinese restaurant I used to go to decades ago, a real family run Chinese, the kitchen door is open & you can hear the constant chatter of the chef, which adds to the authentic experience. 2 of us attended on each occasion, we arrived at 5.30pm, had soft drinks & 2 courses, were ready to go by 6.50pm, both times costs roughly £50 in total. Lovely little restaurant.

Maybe an unlucky experience..but worse crispy duck we've ever eaten. It was virtually cremated. The other good was average at best ...so disappointed and put us off Chinese food for a while. Pre Christmas treat ruined. I never give bad feedback but felt this time I had to..... tbh pretty pricey too and was very cold in restaurant.

We had a takeaway. We ordered it online like click and collect. It was ready on time. We ordered the sweet and sour pork and the satay chicken, with a few sides. It was all ready on time and absolutely delicious. I didn't think it was any more expensive than other takeaways I have used, though its the first we've used since we moved here from Guildford.

What a quaint little family run restaurant, read lots of positive reviews about it and thought it would be nice to celebrate a friends Birthday there. And it was a great choice a great night was had by all.

Here on holiday and we really wanted a Chinese takeaway and honestly it was delicious food and a lovely lady served us, very friendly would highly recommend 😀

Great food and lovely people, but the prices are becoming extortionate. Main dishes are generally costing a minimum of £8 each, so for a small Chinese you’re easily spending at least £50! We were previously ordering on a weekly basis, but we won’t be anymore until the prices become more reasonable. Out of interest, I checked the current prices of the Chinese I used to order from in London; Confucius is more expensive! We will be taking our money elsewhere, unfortunately.

The best Chinese I have ever had. It was so good that I only took a photo of the crispy duck. We will definitely be back!

I received the wrong order and was told it was my fault, said she read the order back to me which she didn’t, I was also asked if I could pay for delivery at the same time, I agreed, was then asked to pay for delivery from the driver when he arrived. I hope they declare the cash they collect!!

Been to this restaurant a couple of times so thought it was time to do a review. The restaurant is not the best decorated but don't let that put you off at all. The owner is always welcoming in fact all his family are as they all work in the restaurant from the kitchen to front of house. The food is just amazing from starters to maim courses. The sauces that are used in the various dishes are all home made. Lovely cold Chinese beer and perfectly chilled wine are also served promptly when requested. Then the bill comes which is really reasonable so along with the great food I keep coming back for.

Best takeaway Chinese food in Chichester by far, always delivered quickly

Easy to use Menu on website. Food arrived ahead of time nice and hot. All packaging recyclable. (use plastic containers as frozen food storage!) Always tastes good.

Recommended by the landlady of the pub I was staying at. Great tasting soup and chicken hot pot, service was quick and efficient.

Lovely friendly service. We tried this for a change as our regular takeaway gets busy if you are not able to order as soon as they open. My usual dishes are not on their menu so I ordered something different. My husband enjoyed his, but I found my sweet and sour was really stodgy, I actually had to check it was the right dish as I could not identify what was inside the batter! Hong kong style is usually a dainty light batter, but this was thick and stodgy, so much so that I just couldn't eat it and shared it between my husband and our dog! Sadly I wouldn't order again, and it has put me off dining in the restaurant.

Our “go to” Chinese for takeaway or eat in. Never had an issue and always had great service and food. Have experienced alternatives with friends but if my choice it will always be Confucius!

We have only recently started to order our takeaway from Confucius and wish that we had been done this sooner! All the food that we have had from the restaurant has been full of flavour, plentiful and tasty. Service has been quick and communication good with staff always friendly and smiling! We won't be changing our custom any time soon and would recommend Confucius highly!

We turned up just as they opened and the service and food was excellent, very kind to our children too.

Great restaurant excellent food

Would give a 0 but unfortunately have to give a 1 star as that’s all it allows, ordered a delivery and they took our payment but then logged us out of the account. Phoned up to ask what has happened and double check it had gone through they told us we was lying and that we hadn’t paid, went there to show them my transaction on my bank and was still told I was lying as wasn’t on there system the manager was so rude and aggressive behaviour. He said that he would give me my food but if the money wasn’t in his account by Monday he wanted my address so he could come and find me. Didn’t end up with my dinner and lost my money aswell will never order from them again. Absolutely shocking.

This was my first visit and I was impressed. From the outside and even when you first walk in, it doesn’t look all that, however I was pleasantly surprised. The food was lovely and nice sized portions. The staff were friendly and it was good value! Looking forward to coming back!

Confucius restaurant was so good I went back again 2 days later I visited taking my friend for dinner. The service is quick and friendly, the atmosphere is friendly. The meal was delicious and sufficient. The perfect hot meal after a long day. When I visit Chichester again will definitely go back again.

Had an awful meal from confucius really awful half duck and chow mein, i called up, they said my next meal was on the house. I have just called up and been SHOUTED at by a man who claimed that any complaint went to him. When I said how rude he was being he said ‘yeah, well i am rude’. Absolutely disgusting.

We love this restaurant. Food is great, lots of authentic cusiine including dumplings, the service is excellent and the staff are warm and friendly, my daughter loves to use her mandarin with the staff.

Good food nice people but very expensive

Ordered from here last night, spent quite a bit of money on our meal, slightly disappointed with the portion sizes, chips were just about cooked and S&P beef was very dry. Chicken fried rice was tasteless but edible. The delivery was quick.

My usual local wasn't open so gave this one a try and thoroughly enjoyed it, I wouldn't be put off the idea of ordering here again in the future.

Recent discovery, second time I've ordered a takeaway from here. Excellent food, cooked to perfection full of flavour and delivered well in time. The food was also hot on arrival, clearly indicating that it hadn't been waiting around.

Very bland chicken was slimy and rubbery, the Noddles were bland and boiled with no taste and all had a musty taste we had takeaway the only good thing was delivery was fast

It’s a cozy little local Chinese restaurant, the food are very tasty and the owner is friendly and flexible. We wandered in from out of town last night and found the experience is really worthy to share. Price was very reasonable and if you are not allergic to shellfish, I’d recommend you try out their sweet scallops!

Confucius is still a superb Chinese. The restraunt has a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We went on a very busy Saturday night. They had lots of competent staff. Great Chinese restaurant, serves some more authentic dishes. Try the beef and tofu hotpot or the aubergine stuffed with minced pork. Service is prompt and friendly, a regular spot for us to dine.

In my opinion the best, most authentic Chinese in chichester. Always fresh ingredients and feels like it's been cooked to order unlike some of the other microwaved options.

Fast, friendly ..food was amazing!

This is a great old school chinese resturant and the best one we've found in Chichester. We moved to Selsey in November 2020 and all though we had a great Chinese Takeaway locally, we struggled to find a decent one for eating out. Then we stumbled across Confucius in a wonderfully quaint location in Chichester and it was like walking into a family kitchen (no bad thing). We were made thoroughly welcome and the food was great. We'll definitely be going back. If you like your food a little bit spicy don't forget to ask for some chilli oil. It's home made and amazing. The best I've ever had.

I was brought here by my friends who promised me that this would be the best Chinese restaurant in Chichester. These are friends you can rely on! Everything about this place is 24ct gold. From the cute setting to the efficient friendly service and that isn't even mentioning their scrumptious food. Be sure to leave room for dessert and order the toffee apple/banana. It's a delicious experience!

Excellent food, very reasonably priced

Sadly, having had good food in the past yesterday's takeaway was of a poor standard. Very salty, some dishes were tasteless apart from the salt. Some dishes were also gloopy. The noodles were very spicy which was not as described. Very disappointed this time.
