Comptoir Libanais in Cheshire West and Chester

Sadly no draught beer. Bottles expensive. Food although nice, the portion's were a tad small, especially the bread which was also expensive. Service charge added to bill. If service is good, I prefer to have the choice to tip or not.

I came with my family to eat after visiting Blue Planet. We enjoyed the food but, it was too expensive for such small portions of food. I would not recommend it to anyone unless they wouldn't mind spending a lot of money on small portions. The most expensive items we ordered were drinks, over priced. The chips portions were also small. The overall services offered by the staff was really good very polite and friendly. The atmosphere and aesthetics were very cosy and reminded of Lebanon.

The food is very delicious, the service is also great and the waiter Layton is very nice.

Never visited Comptoir Libanais before but I've been keen to try. Turned out to be very enjoyable food with plenty of non-meat options. Staff and servers were pleasant and courteous. Will be happy to return for a casual meal.

Food was nice but we felt the portions aren't great considering the price. We also waited a long time for food to come and side dishes were missing. The waiting staff were friendly and gave good service, they apologised for the long wait time and missing items from our order.

First time but will go again for sure... Mike the Maitre D was great, very attentive and helpful... Even helped set me up on the rewards scheme...

The food is absolutely delicious! Every one of us was so happy with our mains. Definitely 5/5 for the food. I highly recommend it! I only gave it a 4 star due to all the side plates being dirty and still having food stuck to it. We got new side plates, and they were the same all dirty with old smeared on the plates. Clearly, these were not washed properly. We did tell staff members about it, and they were very apologetic.

Absolutely love this restaurant, staff are very friendly and helpful, couldn't do more for you! I've been a few times and the menu seems slightly different each time which is great for variety and trying new things. Dog friendly too which is nice as everywhere else at Cheshire Oaks you have to sit outside with dogs. I'd 100% recommend and I'll be back for sure. 😊👍🏼

Food was tasty but not exactly hot ! .. also we are not massive eaters but the portions were very small .. the main chicken and rice dish must have had 1 thigh portion of meat in it . Was struggling to find any chicken . Won’t be returning . Service was good / waiters all were nice .. was more like a cafe lunch . Way over priced . Large wine £10.80?!!! Also the service charge automatically included on the bill which I hate .. very expensive for what you receive

Amazing food and great service from Layton!

I visited the restaurant on Friday, I was greeted by Reece who was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. Once we were sat, our server Louise was very friendly and gave us great recommendations. Overall food was amazing and our experience was spectacular. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Love the food atmosphere and the service but I didn't like the added surcharge. I agree staff differently deserve a tipp but I should choose amount the the bill. But the rest was superb.

Small portions. Even my child couldn't get enough. I didn't find it very reasonable in terms of price, to be honest. Everyone may have different opinions, but I didn't like it at all.

Generally speaking, when you're asked if you have any allergies, ( twice, by two different people) you would imagine, for health reasons, that some steps ( within reason ) will be taken to ensure your general well being but sadly the response I gave after being asked was completely and utterly ignored. What's the point of asking if you're not going to bother doing anything? thus endangering peoples health. The food and drinks were quite nice and one of the servers was very pleasant and helpful. For my own health reasons, I wont go here again.

Unfortunately staff there not professional and keep some areas empty without using to stay. Our child was at sleep and they refused to stay at suitable area for him. Also the quality of food is not as before and not fresh. Atmosphere is good and unique with good decorations.

It’s our first time trying this restaurant, absolutely stunning inside, the staff were very attentive (the young lad serving) the food was full of flavour, cooked fresh and to perfection. I cannot find one fault. Cannot wait to return.

We decided to go here, as we wanted something different for lunch, and for a Monday, it was relatively busy. We ordered the mixed meze and mixed grill between the two of us, at the recommendation of our server. It did not disappoint! The food was divine!! Lots of different flavours and super tasty. The meat was well cooked, but not dry, and you could taste the subtle spice blends. The salads and pickles were super fresh and the dips were delicious with the flatbreads. I ordered a glass of the red sangria - wow, my hubby (elected driver) just had tap water, but even that was served in a carafe with fresh mint infused. Our server was polite, very helpful, and really enthusiastic. It was our first time eating here - it won't be our last. Just one point to note. There is a 12.5% service charge automatically added to the bill - watch out for this. We asked for it to be removed, which wasn't an issue, and we left a cash tip. Thankyou so much!!

We've been repeat customers at Comptoir Libanaise for a reason: the food, service, and atmosphere consistently deliver. Our recent visit was no exception. Layton, our server, was particularly attentive, especially with our 5-year-old son, helping him decide what to order. Our meals arrived promptly – I enjoyed the spinach and feta borek, my husband had the mixed grill, and our son happily devoured the chicken-topped flatbread. The restaurant's vibrant atmosphere, with its fabulous decor and music, creates a truly enjoyable experience. Layton's excellent service further enhanced our visit. We're already planning our next trip – a birthday celebration next month!

Me and my boyfriend came Saturday evening one hour before closing. I half expected them to turn us away but they were really welcoming and let us choose a table. The food and service were both exceptional. We were served by Layton and Mike who were so friendly, not just to us but to every table they served. So much so they were offered £10 cash tip by someone (which they politely refused). Will definitely be returning.

This is not my first experience with Comptoir, but it is my first visit to this branch. I have tried other branches before, and unfortunately, the experience was similar. Ambiance and Decor: The place is beautiful, with a design that evokes the spirit of Lebanon. The restaurant is clean, and the atmosphere is pleasant. Food Quality: My main issue was with the food and service. The food was not delicious or exceptional; I would describe it as average, and I wouldn’t recommend it. The food took a long time to prepare, yet it was served cold. We ordered shawarma, but it didn’t taste like shawarma at all—it was more like plain chicken with rice, and it was cold. The falafel arrived last, after everyone had finished their plates, and to my surprise, it was also cold. Cold falafel? If this is truly a Lebanese restaurant, they should know falafel is always served hot. The mixed grill was below average, with no real flavor in the meat. The only dish I can praise is the lentil soup, which was tasty and the highlight of the meal. However, the rest of the dishes were disappointing. Service: To be fair, one staff member was friendly, polite, and provided excellent service. However, another employee treated us poorly and clearly needs to improve their customer service skills. When it came time to pay, we paid the exact bill amount in coins, as we were not happy with the food. The employee gave us a mocking look, seemingly irritated that we didn’t leave a tip. I want to tell him: “You didn’t deserve a tip. Offer better service if you want to earn one.”

When in Cheshire Oaks we always stop for lunch ,food is always nice and is just enough for lunch time .Was very disappointed as a service charge (tip) was added to the bill without being advised, my sister who does not see that great paid the bill left a tip as she didn't see it added to the bill and we were not informed a service charge was added .Wont be going back time to try something new.

The outlook is good however, food is not even average. Especially the quatity is very less. You may find good food in slim chickens close to it. You can see in the picture. Approx 20£ per person you get amazing food somewhere else. I can cook better than them.

Very nice decorated place but the food is flavourless small portions and expansive

We have had Lebanese food all over the country and abroad, but this was not just the worst experience ever for Lebanese cuisine—it was the worst hot food experience we've ever had. We were looking forward to some authentic Lebanese food, especially after admiring the decor inside. However, the food turned out to be the worst we’ve ever had. Mrs., Mix Grill consisted of three pieces of Shish Taouk (chicken cubes), three chicken middle-wing nibbles, a lamb kofta, a red cabbage mix salad, and some sauce dips. The chicken cubes were the size of popcorn chicken and completely flavourless. The wing nibbles tasted boiled rather than grilled properly, and the lamb kofta was dry and seemed like it had been refrigerated for days. She couldn’t eat it after one bite, and when I tried a small chunk, I understood why. I had the roasted salmon, which was a small, frozen steak that looked like it came from Lidl or Aldi. It was served on a bed of tomato and chickpea sauce with a spinach or saag dressing. Even in some of the most expensive restaurants in London, Manchester, and Dubai, I’ve had better portion sizes and presentations. I appreciate that it was a café-style atmosphere, but the house special was served like a £4.99 dish from a cheap food outlet. My son ordered the Lamb Kofta Burger, which turned out to be a sliced-up version of the mix grill kofta. Despite being hungry, he couldn’t eat it. However, the fries were fresh and decent. The only highlight was the hummus and bread. The chef who served it demonstrated better customer service skills than the person who took our order, who greeted us with a bored, "What do you want?" expression. There was no tablet or notepad for taking orders, and as a result, we never received the two soft drinks we ordered, nor the large bottle of water. The total meal cost £80, and I sincerely believe we wasted our money. Slim Chickens would have been a better option.

Arrived on a busy Saturday but were seated quickly. We were served by Mike who was excellent, asked if we needed help with the menu which is useful for first time visitors. Food was different,very enjoyable and full of new flavours. I would recommend the homemade lemonade as a drink. Give it a go, it's worthwhile.

Cheshire Oaks was very busy with shoppers on Boxing Day. Le Comptoir Libanais provided a much-needed break from bargain-hunting as well as a fine lunch. The restaurant is part of a chain, but I have not been to any other branches so do not know what is typical and what is not. The decor was bright and colourful and the staff cheerful and welcoming. We each had a main course from house speciality section - a borek with yoghurt sauce and salad and an aubergine tagine with couscous. Both dishes felt like real homemade food rather that pre-prepared chain fare (even if they weren't). They were not very very large but tasry. We had rose mint tea to drink. We enjoyed the whole experience. It was quite expensive.

Been there a few times since it opened at cheshire oaks. A good option when wanting something a little different to the bigger chains. All dishes tried there were nice.

Well the customer service in this place deserves an extra star 🌟 We had inadvertently booked for another night, the management and server (Leyton) were more than accommodating and made us feel extremely welcome. Food was so very tasty, we shared a Mezze then had a tagine and the lamb Kofte rice bowl, filling and just the right amount of spice. We will definitely return!

Something different, 3 out of the 4 dishes were great. Salmon and beans are a little too spicy for our youngest. Definitely return without the boys. Service was exceptional. Again, it's pricey for what you get, but it's definitely something different for the pallet.

Went at lunch time waited for a table for 30 minutes, only to be told there at no gluten free option when the menu states there is.

We were at COMPTOIR LIBANAIS restaurant today. First, the food was served very quickly, indicating that it had been prepared and just heated up. And the food wasn't hot at all. Second, we were charged a service charge in addition to the tax. AWFUL

We pre booked a table and when we arrived we were greeted warmly and quickly shown to a nice table that was already set up for us but the experience went downhill from here. We ordered a few of the meze dishes as starters and then a meal each from the main menu as mains. Our waitress explained that the meze came out as it was ready but that the mains would follow. This was fine with us. Half an hour later a waiter came over with our main meals and we explained that we were waiting for meze as our staters. He continued to try and serve the mains saying that everything was ready. I pointed out that there would be room on the table for everything at once so he walked away with the dishes but just sort of hovered a few feet from the table. The original waitress then approached with the meze and following a conversation with the waiter insisted that she explained everything would come out as it was ready. Despite knowing this is not what she say we accepted all the food so as not to cause a fuss. We were discussing this situation privately at the table and as the waitress walked by she rolled her eyes at us! The food was ok. The mains were cold. Then they striped to add a £20 service change o to the bill without drawing our attention to it.

Portions are comparable to a happy meal although staff saw them as massive good as a snack do not expect to walk out full.

We stopped off for a meal during a shopping trip at Cheshire Oaks. Just like everywhere else prices have gone up considerably but food was absolutely delicious. The highlight of the place though was the down-to-earth and very friendly and attentive staff. They are an asset to the restaurant, especially when it’s so hard to get decent service in most places these days. Keep it up guys! I’m sure we will be back on a fortune trip.

Very poor service. Staff are not willing to help or make you more convenient . I had my 2 year old child with me. He was sleeping. We asked to sit in the sofa like chairs to give my child space to lay down. We asked about 4 times, they give very poor excuses although there were plenty sofa like chairs free. We had to put 2 chairs opposite to each other and put my child. The space wasn't enough for him and his back wasn't supported. I went to speak to staff again and explained the situation, they still argued, saying those for 6 . Then after a lot of convecing them , one table just finished and they said they will clean it for us ( although there were plenty free). We waited and they put another people in the table they should gave to us. My child then was turning while sleep and was about to fall and wake up crying. We could finish our meal!!. Staff are worst I met ever!! Never to recommend this restaurant.

We came to Cheshire Oaks on a Friday in half term (poorly timed!) with our miniature sausage dog and 6 month old baby. After a 20 min queue to find parking, 30min walk through many families with kids to 4 different restaurants (not dog friendly) we headed to Comptoir Libanais with our enthusiasm for a day of shopping wilted. When we arrived the reception from the hostess was frosty and it felt like we were inconveniencing her with our presence. At this point we were pretty much ready to gather up and head home to Manchester. Enter Mike. Mike was incredible. He was friendly, kind and could not do enough for us. He gave us some amazing tips on what to order, brought a water bowl for the dog and interacted enthusiastically with our wee baby. It wasn’t fake either, his attitude was so genuine and we felt special! The food was also good, maybe not the best food in the world but the service made the experience so enjoyable we could forgive any shortcomings with the food. We paid and left. Several hours later, after much shopping, our little girl was hungry and we had run out of hot water. We were round the corner from Comptoir so went back in hoping Mike might help us out. And help us out he did! He and his wonderful colleague Cam couldn’t do enough for us. They made space for us despite it being close to closing, they didn’t rush us, chatted with us and of course helped us with hot water for our baby’s milk. Being 6 months post partum I could’ve cried at such kindness. Not everyone is so kind and generous when you have a baby. This level of service is sadly so rare to find that I couldn’t not do a review. Don’t go anywhere else when you go to Cheshire Oaks. Also MacArthur Glen should pay these two bonuses. If it wasn’t for them, we’d have left and not spent as much money as we did (too much!)

First off I’d like to say that service was good. Our waiter was pleasant and really cared about our experience. I ordered the shish taouk. The portion size was so small, I couldn’t believe that this is a standard portion size. The food itself was of a poor standard. Everything tasted as though it had been made previously and reheated. My husband ordered the mixed grill. Again, he said that there was something off with the food and as though it was old. We ordered one of their in house lemonades and that was lovely. It was such a disappointing visit. I have been to this restaurant several times and couldn’t believe how sick I felt after.

Excellent food at reasonable prices. I really enjoyed both dishes we ordered. Both the chicken and lamb were perfectly cooked, full of flavour and tasted fresh. The lamb kofta was delicious as well as the accompanying battata harra and the grilled chicken was also very tasty. Highly recommend you try Comptoir Libanais if you enjoy Mediterranean or Middle Eastern cuisine.

This is a favourite chain and the Cheshire Oaks branch in particular has always made us feel special, regardless of how busy it can be at times. The decor is beautiful and the food is evocative of the Levantine cuisine I grew up eating. Our server was kind, knowledgeable and attentive. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and they helped to make the evening extra memorable. We left with big smiles and full tummies!

Without being spectacular. The food was nice and reasonably priced (£37 for lunch for 2 including a soft drink each). The guy serving (I guess was the manager/shift leader?) was very pleasant too. But at the end of the day it’s a ‘chain’ and I find you rarely get the genuine care and warmth of a locally owned place with a stake in the place. Would I go back? Yes, it’s a chain but it’s still well ahead of most chains but I’d choose a local place first (not possible in Cheshire Oaks of course 😊).

Faultless 👑. The food was outstanding, really delicious and filling. The hosts/staff appeared happy and smiley, they really made me feel so chilled. The aroma of the kitchens, decor and background chitter chatter transported me immediately away from elbowing stressed out shoppers. Honestly it was bliss. Thank you Comptoir Libanais 🫶.

Food and service nice however extremely expensive as very small portions offered. Ordered a mixed grill for 20£. What came was 2 finger sized kofta and 3 pieces of chicken + teacup of rice + salad. Imo this is very expensive. Nice atmosphere if you dont mind plastic plants, service very good.

Excellent customer service. The restaurant had an explosion earlier today and forgot to cancel the TooGoodToGo orders due to being focused on the repairs. The manager was effusively apologetic and offered me a meal to make amends. Fantastic attitude to customers.

Lovely decor and the food is delicious. I used to go to the one in Leeds when it was there. Such a shame its gone now. So was pleasantly surprised to see one on our trip to Cheshire Oaks
