As expected from a weatherspoons service was quick - reasonable priced - food was good - pub was busy but no problem getting a table

Decided to give this place a try after our usual favourite pub stopped serving food. Big mistake! The atmosphere is rough and ready! Actually quite unpleasant. We were only here on a weekday lunchtime so I can only imagine what it’s like over the weekend! Staff were unable to smile… any of them. Two female staff members hung around in front of the bar loudly shouting and calling things to each other presumably attempting banter? It seemed to be to attract attention but was quite awkward to witness. A bit like a heckler with no wit or comedy skills. Food menu was sticky and grubby as was the table. The fried egg served up had actually crumbled/ fallen and was now in 4 pieces. Someone had gone to a lot of trouble to piece it back Into an egg shape and put it back on my plate… minus any sign of a yolk! I asked for it to be swapped and it was exchanged for one equally as bad. Neither were eaten. Poor food, poor customer service and dirty! Staff just hanging about with their mates!

Thought we’d have a coffee at The College Arms. Just getting in the pub was an adventure, literally. A few feet from the door a young lady with few teeth was having an argument with a man of similar age and dental problems. She was repeatedly questioning his parentage with increasing annoyance. Apparently, he did have a father after all and wanted her to ‘go away’. At least, that’s how I interpreted the actual phrase he used. We finally entered the pub once we bypassed the staff on the door chuckling at what was going on outside. The pub was busy, tables were at a premium. A standard Wetherspoons afternoon. We’d be in the minority in that we only wanted a coffee. The machines were easily accessed, and the drinks were poured swiftly. The College Arms is a nice enough City Centre pub. We didn’t eat, so couldn’t pass judgement. However, if you want a fairly standard Wetherspoons just like any other, then this is for you. Just hope that there isn’t a sideshow outside…

The half chicken was almost inedible it still had carcass attached and slimy skin. I retrieved as much breast meat as I could chips were dry

Always a regular stop off before a Posh match when visiting Peterborough. As Spoons go on this ocassion it was spot on. A busy Saturday lunch time but all drinks and four meals were delivered promptly, hot and with a service and a smile. The sign of a good management. Some other venues could take some tips from this team.

I visited the College Arms during a recent business trip to Peterborough. It’s a fairly typical Wetherspoon’s with decent food and drink at a reasonable price. I had a very good Burn’s night burger with an excellent bottle of Shiraz and some water. The bill was around £26, which you would expect to pay for the wine alone in most restaurants. I know it was only Monday night, but the place was reasonably busy and not uncomfortably so. I ordered from the app at my table and service was very good.

The security guard was unnecessarily aggressive with no apparent reason. Pushing people down the stairs is not only rude but is an actual violation without no grounds or threat this sort of behaviour should be dealt with.

Food very disappointing, table dirty underneath with bits of food stuck to it disabled toilet water coming over boots

Ordered the gourmet sirloin steak, more like gourmet fat and gristle, avoid this at all costs get something else

This is a very nice wetherspoons with pleasant staff. Been here many times. Sat in garden area because beautiful day. Their is a small smoking area on one side. Many people were smoking in non smoking particular 1 party of 3 adults and 3 children and baby. Staff did nothing. We had a portion of loaded chips at a cost of over £6, very little load of cheese and bacon,very poor value. Certainly needs looking at. Otherwise a very nice pub and garden. Staff please stop smokers in non smoking,surely this is illegal.

place has a distinct aroma about it, both inside & out, haven’t visited the pub in maybe over a year & things really haven’t changed, bar staff seemed happy enough but from what I saw the food wasn’t exactly appetising & tables not cleared frequently enough, cheap drinks though, will probably visit again in the next five or ten years or so

Stayed here for some time . We had an excellent Waiter called Conrad . So short staffed however Conrad still offered help .

There was a security camera in the ladies bathroom!! The camera was pointing at the bathroom seat toilet, Absolutely disgusting!!

This WS locally is the only one that pours you a pint of Shipyard correctly. It was delious with a surberb head. Apparently it must be poured through a blue nozel like here to get the excellent pint. Alas in nearby Wisbech and , Dereham and kings Lynn they do not use the correct nozel so you receive a dead pint. I have written to their head office several times to no avail. Thank you Peterborough WS for a great pint (,had 3). The cheese and ham panini was delious,perfectly presented, delicious. Thanks to all the staff here. Tables full of dirty crockery when we arrived at 11am. A waitress came to clear a nearby table and all the chips, crumbs and grot was wiped off the table straight onto the floor. When the breakfasts arrived they were cold and you could tell that they weren't freshly cooked. I had to take them to the bar to ask if they could be heated up. I thought they would at least cook fresh ones but no, they arrived after about 5 minutes hot from the microwave and eggs rock hard. Butter was missing as they had obviously taken the butter off the plates before microwaving so had to ask for more. Even toast had gone into the microwave..! Only ate a small amount after that because it was absolutely tasteless and left the rest. Horrible experience and was supposed to be a treat for my husband who had been to hospital and hadn't eaten since 5pm the night before so was looking forward to it. RUBBISH. Can't wait for our usual Wetherspoons (Drapers Arms) to reopen after refurbishment as we always get a lovely meal there. I've always thought that the College Arms was a spit and sawdust place and it still is. Never return again.

No práctico en mitad del centro de la ciudad, para cada comida, desde el desayuno hasta la cena, y todos entre incluyendo café. Gran parada, buenos precios, gran personal.

Again I got to this place hoping to have a nice full English breakfast. Sadly I received a breakfast of poor quality. The egg overcooked but cold, bacon undercooked and cold and the beans, cold. In all it was disgusting. The staff very apologetic. I was offered a replacement. The replacement was very much the same. This experience is enough to remember I must avoid this place. The coffee was ok. Two stars for helpful staff though.

The chef in college arms produced the most juiciest tear apart steak, my mouth was watering it just melted in my mouth. My partner has it well done and it was still juicy beyond belief. I will be going every week for dinner. So perfect and the chips was fresh as well and so yummy only thing is the mushroom could be bigger lol x x please go and enjoy. Service was excellent so polite

I waited 5 minutes at the front of a till and despite it being very quiet I wasn't served . A member of staff even went to used the till and she completely ignored I was there. A "I'll be without" you in a minute would of sufficed but it seems even that is too much. Walked out and went to the pub across the road where I was greeted and treated respectfully

A few of us went to the College Arms midweek after an evening curry meal.As we were waiting to be served, we were talking amongst ourselves and laughing as you do, only to be told by some young looking barman to "tone it down". We all looked at each other in disbelief, as we were not being rowdy in any way, shape or form and was just having a typical, enjoyable evening.About 10 minutes later, numerous students entered the bar area and were far louder than we could have ever mustered. Guess what the barman said to them? That's right, absolutely nothing.I can only assume this member of bar staff doesn't want an older clientele in the pub and is only interested in people of his own age. Maybe the management should put a sign above the door in future, saying "no fuddy duddy's allowed"...?

I have visited The College Arms on a various amount of times. The Staff are always helpful , I myself have a disability and several times I've requested help from the Managers or staff and they are always go out of there way to assist me. Food is always hot and great value for money.

We went to The College Arms with our little boy for dinner in December. It was not late at night or especially rowdy but we were refused Entry by the bouncer, who merely pointed at my son, who was asleep in his pushchair, and shook his finger. He wouldn't even talk to us. Disgusting way to treat customers! Refuse to go there ever again.

Quick service, friendly staff and food as you'd expect from a wetherspoons. I've been here a couple of times for lunch, as it is close to where I work. You can be in and out within the hour.

The Collage arms is a large Wetherspoons bar, they serve a very good selection of real ale as well as the usual lagers, wines etc, food is well cooked and fairly quick to arrive, they also do a very good breakfast.

We had a very good lunch in Wetherspoons at a reasonable price. Good selection of real ales added to the experience.Although a busy lunch time I only waited around 2 mins to be served.

I have been in the Collage many times since 2006. I have had food here before, sometimes ok sometimes not so good. For the passed two years I then started to use the D Arms for breakfast without any issues at all. I heard from friends that the Collage had improved so because I now live only a matter of a three min walk from the Collage I thought I would give it a go with a breakfast. Well nothing had improved. The eggs, cold!! In fact the breakfast was cold. Sorry Collage Arms it was disgusting full stop.

In any town there is always a decent spoon pub, along with a tacky one. This pub is a tacky one. The staff weren't overly friendly nor attentive. As a real ale drinker I was disappointed with the quality of beers on offer. For a much better choice I would recommend the Drapers in Cowgate. Excellent food and beer.

Decent pub grub at decent price's. The beer is not bad always cold ;) Night life is pretty decent on a Friday and Saturday.

this isn't a place you would want to take your family for a meal,in one corner there are a group of regular dirty unshaven men that are in there from opening time just drinking all day & swearing as one of the staff told me,it gives the place a dirty fusty smell & feel

Me and my fiance ate here for an evening meal as we were staying at a nearby hotel. The atmosphere was great, we took a seat and had a look at the large menu. I went up to the bar to order and the staff were friendly. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. It's family friendly and they have lots of good deals on there food and drink. Would defiantly return if in the area again.
