Smallish unpretentious cafe that is great to pop in for a coffee. Only had a drink but food looked good too. Coffee quality above average. Tiny loo but no problems. Staff friendly and efficient.

On our way to Launceston Castle we were looking for places to have lunch.. this gave us the best first impression, and we arrived around 1pm on a fair July Saturday. We easily found a table, menus and ordered drinks and food. Then the waiting began. Two of the drinks were milkshakes, one was a can. None of the drinks arrived before our food, which took around 20mins. During this time, Sat near the counter we watched the barista unravel. The cafe was not overly busy, probably operating around 50-60% capacity (outside & in), but this staff member, left alone front of house was clearly not coping. A colleague popped out to deliver food a couple of times, which just seemed to complicate things and perplex them further! Tables arriving after us received their drinks first. At one point they came over and said we’d get our drinks soon.. I felt like going to get a coke from a local shop!! A customer at another table (who had ordered after us and reduced their drinks before us) chased an iced latte. Colleague from kitchen popped out at that moment and verbally chastised poor barista for not having done it. I feel this is a management issue. That poor Barista was clearly stretched beyond their ability, should never have been left alone on a busy Saturday lunchtime, and when colleague appeared from kitchen or wherever they were hiding should’ve been more supportive. There was a sign in the window saying serving staff needed. It may be necessary to reduce number of covers by closing off upper section of cafe until you’re confident you can provide a basic level of service. When our food came out it was very good, but really the fact we got drinks 20+ mins after arrival (especially when one was just a can) was very poor.

Lovely quirky cafe, dog friendly, serving a varied menu a bit quirky too!, staff very friendly and tried their upmost to help with alternative choices. We popped in here last minute as visited the town and saw that most shops are closed on a Saturday so decided to pop for lunch before departing. Food was lovely, only disappointed not to see a cream tea on the menu, this was on the board as you walk in the cafe but needed 24hrs notice for booking apparently. All in all we had a nice lunch 😋

What is not to like about this delightful cafe. The service is super friendly, the lunch menu simple but the food is delicious and artistically presented and the cafe is dog friendly. I would highly recommend a visit if you happen to be in Lauceston.

Very friendly young man front of house worked hard to keep up with orders but was doing a great job. Ordered two sandwiches but waited 40 minutes before we ate. When it arrived the focaccia was so dry we couldn't finish it and the coronation chicken was unpleasant. Really disappointing after hearing so many good things. We told the young waiter how the meal was and he was very apologetic but the owner seemed very unapproachable as he was complaining to another table about previous staff.

Having heard much praise for CoFo, we ‘took a punt’ and booked the seven course Christmas day banquet. We were warmly welcomed by Christina, fizz at the ready, who took us to our table which had a personal card for us and a specially written poem about CoFo at Christmas. Canapes were handmade focaccia crackers with four tasty and inventive toppings followed by house breads and dips. We shared our beautifully presented festive starters which included partridge ballotine, mulled pair, duck parfait and pickled chestnuts. Then came the palette cleanser of a gin and tonic sorbet perfectly combined with popping candy and hazelnut sauce. Service was at a pace that we chose which was most welcome and we relaxed before the main course. The traditional turkey main consisted of succulent leg and breast meat, Christmas sides and local vegetables. We couldn’t finish our main course, despite it being so very good, or the forthcoming trio of desserts or local cheeses and crackers. Christina and Chef kindly boxed everything up for us and we were able to have a Boxing Day CoFo at home! Chef chatted with us several times and his passion shone. He and Christina deliver an exceptional culinary experience. It speaks volumes that it’s over two months since Christmas Day and I recall it all as though it was yesterday. Perfectly curated food, superb service, great value, inventive flavour combinations and a relaxed environment. Thank you CoFo – you’re creating a real buzz to dining out!

We rang to enquire if Cofo would be able to do a roast up takeaway, they were very helpful. We had one roast with two meats (beef & Turkey). The roast was amazing, lovely meat and veg. Plenty of it and two Yorkshire puddings, definitely homemade and very generous to have two. Will definitely try takeaway again and would also sit in. Decor is great and it was very busy which always bodes well.

Stopped in Launceston looking for lunch and what luck to have found this place - loved the way they have decorated the place, plus the food was very good indeed. We had a selection of mixed mezze, beautifully made and presented and the foccacia was superb. The coffee and cakes were delicious too. Their Diners' Club menu looked amazing, clearly there is someone here who likes experimenting with flavours. Can't wait to go back.

What a wonderful little gem of a place! Have visited twice now in two weeks for tea and cake and a stroll around the garden. Cakes are amazing, staff are lovely and bring food out to your table. The walled garden is full of lovely plants, some unusual and the insect life and especially the dragonflies just a wonder to watch. Thank you 😊
