Booked conservatory for mom and dad's 50th wedding anniversary...staff were brill all night...food was amazing...great night had by all

We booked a pod for my moms 70th birthday. The pods are lovely but a little restrictive on space, there's not much personal space but ours was full to capacity so if you didn't have maximum numbers it would be better. The food was absolutely fantastic. I've had the fish and chips before and that's nice and generous portions. But I had the shoulder of lamb this time and it was so so delicious, the meat just falls off the bone and there's tons of meat on there . The starters and puddings were lovely too and reasonably priced. The service was fantastic, staff were attentive . The only star taken off the atmosphere was the people from the other pods became a bit rowdy outside of their pod so this impacted us a little bit. Absolutely recommend and will definitely be coming back.

Enjoyed a decent meal here, in one of the pods situated at the front of the pub. The pod cost us £30 to hire, but allowed us to keep children under control and have a family meal to celebrate recent exam success. The service was very decent, food universally enjoyed and a good selection of drinks, including my current favourite ‘Cruzcampo’. There’s ample car parking at the back of the pub.

Really lovely little pub with a great lunch and light bites menu. Liked it so much we drive for an hour to return when on our holiday.

We rented a pod for a family celebration. Booking was simple, the pod is clean and well equipped but could do with some air conditioning or at least a fan inside. Rich was our waiter and he was brilliant. Got everything in the order spot on, was quick and a really pleasant guy. The food was good, not amazing but it was fine for what we were looking for and what it cost. All in all, a really pleasant day, good food, no issues. We will definitely be returning.

A group of us met up and we booked a pod which was lovely as it was a lovely evening and it was nice.to have just our group together. You can play your own music in the pods. The food was lovely and the service was great. We had a lovely waitress for the evening. Would definitely go back.

Randomly picked this place as somewhere I have never been before and booked a table for 4. Had a fantastic evening, the service and staff were extremely helpful and we all left in the car discussing of when we are going to visit again.

We had a gorgeous evening here in one of the outdoor pods. The food was spot on and the service made our evening. The pods are a fantastic way to have a celebration and have it feel secluded and intimate, and the team really helped to make it feel special. Massive thank you. I'll be back.

We hired a pod for a 21st birthday, the pods had heating, lighting and Bluetooth music system, free WiFi, and impeccable cleanliness. The staff were absolutely perfect and catered for our needs without fuss. The place is dog friendly and a friendly atmosphere. The food choices. Prices and quality of the food is the best I have ever eaten the steak was nearly 2inches thick yet cooked perfectly to my requirements, literally the knife fell through it, the meat melts on your tongue. Visit here I highly recommend this establishment. 10 / 10

Very noisy ,although reasonably priced the meals were served on tiny plates and therefore small portions A pity as the setting is good but I won't be returning

Fantastic country pub. Stunning inside and out. We turned up without a booking and were seated quickly. The food was lovely (4 star simply because it was pretty standard food, hard to get wrong). The services was great and we were attended to at all times. Atmosphere was classic country pub, just what you want really! Will definitely be back

Really small car park at the rear and not very accessible but nice pub with nice food.

The meal were perfect and staff were friendly and helpful . I highly recommend.the plough inn for a nice meal out. You can also take your dog and they can have dog ice cream. The only one thing. I felt squash up by the wall at table 5 and struggled to get in and out. Other than that . Brilliant

The staff at this establishment were absolutely fantastic, providing excellent service and making sure that our experience was top-notch. The landlady and landlord were also incredibly attentive, going above and beyond to ensure that all of our needs were met. After a tense game against Huddersfield Town, we were in need of a good stop off, and this place delivered. We were able to relax and unwind, as we drank loads and enjoyed the lively atmosphere. The DJ kept us entertained with great music, and we couldn't help but dance the night away. Although we didn't have any food, we were more than satisfied with the drinks and the overall experience. We will definitely be returning to this place in the future.

What a fantastic place….!!! The staff go above and beyond to help , nothing was to much trouble..!! When we called to enquire about booking a pod for our daughter birthday they was fantastic…!!! when we explained that our daughter is autistic and has an assistance dog and could they accommodate us…. I have to say this is one of the best places I have ever been to and was so impressed by there attitude towards people with additional needs….!!!! On the night everything was just perfect staff friendly and helpful… food was amazing… would highly recommend to anyone..!!

We hired the 20 seater pod for a birthday celebration. We were pleased that we had the pod for the whole evening, so we could go at our own pace.Service was good, attentive without being overbearing. There was sometimes a little wait bit all pods were full as well as a busy pub so we expected as such. Food was very good. Out of 19 people the only complaint is that one steak was overcooked and looked more well.done than medium. Other than that we had a lovely meal. I also thought the price was very reasonable. The atmosphere in the pod was great, lighting, hook up to our own music, perfect for our needs. It was mentioned that there needed to be more female toilets for such a busy pub, we were often queueing. Other than. That there really was not.much to complain about.

Very poor pub food.well over priced to.ive had better food at wetherspoons. Disposal condiment pots were like McDonald's sauce pots 🤣.beers was well over priced to..wouldn't recommend this place at all.

First time being here tonight. Hired the big pod for a 60th anaversery. The food was lovely I had the pulled pork, one of the best iv had, would definitely recommend. Staff were lovely. Price is just right. I can see myself going back here. Think il be getting the mixed grill next time as that looked tasty aswell. Thank you for the lovely meal. 5 ⭐️

Really friendly staff dog friendly pub they also do cobs behind the bar quite good priced on bar food and snacks and staff always happy to help and very welcoming gets busy at times but all in all a lovely country pub to visit

Together with a small group of colleagues, I have been visiting the Plough on a monthly basis for a few years now. It is a small privately owned pub that consistently provides high quality food and service at competitive prices. Service from all staff is excellent. This really is an excellent hostelry. As it can get quite busy, reserving a table is advised.

We had great food brilliant service. And cosy atmosphere. We come again.

We really enjoyed our lunch here. Very high-quality food was accompanied with efficient and genial service, despite a 15-minute power cut halfway through the meal. Our friends, who lunched with us, were also very impressed. A good selection of ales too. We will definitely be back for another fabulous dining experience.

Went for my birthday, my dad was happy with his food the minted lamb chops but the burger was awful and dripping with grease. I ordered a side of onion rings, there was 3 on my plate, undercooked, cheap and smaller then the palm of my hand, usually a side dish comes out separate and they didn't not, and was a rip off price of £3.50. Just did not enjoy the food at all.

Great food friendly staff I would highly recommend

Some may think this petty, but I had a lunch menu baguette and the sausage tasted very cheap. I stand to be corrected, but there were definitely vibes of them coming from a big frozen bag and being deep fried for 10 minutes. I know budgets are a massive consideration in food/menus, but I would be very disappointed had I ordered something like sausage and mash and saw those turn up on the plate. With that being said, this is still one of my favourite local pubs, I just don't think I'll order the sausage again.

Food is always really nice. It is best to book a table/pod or you could end up waiting a while for a table to become available.

Last Sunday we hired a Pod to have a family celebration for u husbands birthday. It was a hit with everyone especially the grandchildren who thought it was a rocket! A big thank you to Maddie and the rest of the staff who looked after us. Would definitely recommend hiring a Pod Thank you

Always been a great sirloin steak here , it didn't disappoint, still the best in the area. The Pod cost only 35 pounds for the evening ( 3 hours). Mood lighting, heating and blue tooth speaker. Great experience to eat inside it, private, cosy; definitely recommend.

When we first went for a Meal/ Function the dirty oil smell from the kitchen was really off putting. But since our last visit as a family catch up that had completely changed.. Much nicer. The food was lovely and definitely go back again.

Warm welcome to the plough this weekend, greeted by two young ladies who were happy to take my drinks order. Seated promptly and even accommodated our very early arrival. The steak and mushroom pie was wonderful, really tasty homemade and would have again and again if it wasn’t for the rest of the menu looking fabulous too! Can’t complain about much here, really nice experience. Probably the only thing I’d change is the basic chips that came with the meal , I’d swap them for perhaps twice cooked home made chunky chips but it’s not particularly necessary… food was great !

Visited this week for our social group's annual Harvest Lunch and cannot fault any aspect of our visit.There were over twenty of us were welcomed in by the friendly & attentive staff.Food was excellent,plentiful & reasonably priced.Even though there were loads of us we all got served quickly and at the same time for each course.All in all an excellent experience at this fantastic place.

Another Great evening spent at The Plough! We attended with a group of our friends .....11 in total. Our waitress for the evening was Georgia, she was absolutely amazing. Polite, and courteous, at all times, and joined in with our humour! Always checking that we had drinks, and asking if everything was okay with our meals. Also A big thanks to Richard, who is"Always" brilliant at front of house. Not forgetting the chefs and kitchen staff for preparing and serving great food! 😋 😋

Nice Sunday lunch in a nice country pub. Shame you have to pay extra for a small yorkie and no cauliflower cheese but otherwise a good place to go.

Spent a lovely Saturday evening at The Plough with friends for a birthday celebration. We had a booking for 11 and had the large POD in the garden, which was fabulous. The food was amazing (as always) with no complaints from anyone. Georgia and Richard were the most attentive of staff ensuring our glasses were constantly filled and all our needs catered for.........all done with a smile and showing genuine interest in our party. Thank you both for enhancing our night!

We hired the 8 seater POD at the plough and the service was amazing. The staff are so attentive and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The food is on point and so reasonably priced it makes the whole experience just lovely. Richard was amazing! Always goes out his way to help us with a smile and nothing is ever too much trouble. We absolutly love this place and will be back again very soon. Highly recommend the plough and the pods are just amazing.

Called in for lunch. Had wonderful meals followed by desert, wow haven't had a treacle sponge that tasted so good before.

Great place for food. Had a Sunday dinner and paid 50p for a Yorkshire pudding and it was really small. So I won't choose this again.

Steak was great but starters (bread mushrooms) over priced for what was frozen to fried within an inch if its life, no presentation and no garnish. Basic rushed out the kitchen stuff. Not as good as i remember it.

Wasnt really looking forward to going here for dinner not my 1st choice..I WAS WRONG.Had the steak cooked to perfection nice onion rings (not hard and overdone) mushrooms were spot on (not swimming in grease) couldnt fault the placs 10/10

Prices have gone up 50p since the menu was printed and the also charged for 2 Yorkshire puddings despite us ordering only one but the service was good and the food was delicious. Will certainly go again :) Update: Staff super friendly and the food was spot on. Fish and Chips ... Yum.

Went as a family which was lovely. The wait staff were possibly new because they couldn't answer basic questions about the menu. Service was really slow.

Cannot fault this place. 11 of us to celebrate my dad's 85th birthday. All the food was piping hot and all came out at the same time. My nephew is a veggie and always enjoys a veggie option. The steak I had was absolutely perfectly cooked. Highly recommended

My wife and just turned up we hadn’t booked the staff were so welcoming and got a table so we had lunch at this pub the plough I had gammon egg and chips the wife had beer battered cod and chips we didn’t have to wait long although it was busy the service was good food was great good value for money definitely worth a visit remember to book as it can be busy Also we had a pint of beer with the food both with drinks come to £40.60 good value thanks guys see you again soon

An excellent range of well kept ales and great food

This was my second visit to the Plough Inn (first at lunch, this time for dinner midweek). Both times with dogs and both times the pub was quite busy. Every time staff were very accommodating and seated us quickly. Staff are really attentive, drinks come quickly, food is good. A really nice pub in a great area for walking the dogs. I would love to hire one of the pods!
