The Plough in North Warwickshire

My friend and I visited on 25/1/25. It was very busy indeed. Where we were seated, the tables were close together. On the back of the menu it did say there could be a delay of 30-40 minutes for food during busy times. We decided to have a starter each pate and mushrooms which were ok but small portions We waited around 30 minutes before I asked how much longer our main course would be? I had the minted lamb shoulder My friend the lasagne.. My food was piping hot as if it had been in a microwave. I asked for black pepper. Despite twisting the cellar/pot hardly anything came out! The lasagne was in a very small dish consisting of just mushy mince with one layer of pasta and cheese. My friend was very disappointed. She had ice cream which was tasteless and most of it was left. It seemed there were only two members of staff serving. On the way out I caught sight of another dining area. It was practically empty. However, it reminded me of a canteen as the tables were very close together/in lines. We were glad to get out. I also overheard a lady saying 'It's changed..not like it used to be'.. My friend and I travelled from Birmingham and Derby. As you can imagine we will not be returning or recommending this place. All in all a very disappointing experience. Clearly the management are desperate to cram as many people in as they can.

Hired one of the cosy pods for my mom's 80th birthday. The pods are private, cosy and perfect for a celebration. Drinks and food were all served in good time and service was faultless. Staff are friendly and brought out the birthday cake and sang. 5 star service and highly recommended 👌.

Absolutely amazing food. We were in the pod which was amazing. All of our food was perfect. Probably one of the best steaks I have ever had. Great service as always. Michelle was our waitress with Adam popping in, both super attentive and we probably drove them bonkers!!!. I Can't wait to go again and my family says the same. Keep up the good work.

Food was amazing and very well cooked. Service was slow and felt like we were ignored, but apart from that everything else was wonderful.

Large group of 11 (5 children), enjoyed a meal in on one the pods. What a treat!, the pod was amazing and offered privacy and comfort in a unique environment. The food was enjoyed by all, being of great home cooked quality, large portions, all at very reasonable prices. The staff were superb! Very friendly, attentive and all requests were dealt with promptly and with a big smile. So thank you to all of the team, we will definitely be back.

Had a lovely festive lunch here today .. the pub is a beautiful traditional country retreat . We have visited on many occasions and have to say the staff are amazing nothing is too much trouble they have a chat and make you feel so welcome and the service is exceptional. We can honestly say we’ve never had a bad meal here the food has always been delicious with some wonderful homemade and hearty fayre on the menu . Would definitely recommend hiring one of the pods too as we did in the summer .. they are perfect for family gatherings and celebrations. Gorgeous pub and setting, lasagne was delicious.

Had a great lunch at the Plough, 4 of us had Pate to start then steak ale and mushroom pie and someone else had salmon and Parsley sauce. We really enjoyed our meals and Zoe our waitress was attentive and really pleasant Would definitely come back.

We just had a cracking meal here at the Plough. They all need to give themselves a big pat on the back. Service was good especially as the were 31 of us for a family Christmas meal. The turkey dinner tasted great. Come out hot too. Thank you. Coming back very soon.

My wife and I just turned up we hadn’t booked the staff were so welcoming and got a table so we had lunch at this pub the plough I had gammon egg and chips the wife had beer battered cod and chips we didn’t have to wait long although it was busy the service was good food was great good value for money definitely worth a visit remember to book as it can be busy Also we had a pint of beer with the food both with drinks come to £40.60 good value thanks guys see you again soon

Lovely lunchtime meal with my family. Rich and the team ensured we were enjoying our food (which was excellent) our drinks were replenished, and we could take our time to enjoy our meal without being hurried. Look forward to coming back 😁

I had small turkey roast dinner , I did not enjoy it . My husband had chilli con carny with garlic bread. Only 1 small slice of garlic bread.

We paid extra to have a private "pod" We will do it again. 😉

A cute place to eat, I found the menu a little limiting but the quality of the food more than made up for it. Expect a bit of a wait for food and a nitpick: The pancakes on the menu are crêpes, as an avid pancake enjoyer this broke my heart 💔. The staff are lovley and very interactive making the overall experience amazing. I'd recommend it if you can travel there. (Theres no public transit for it.)

The Sunday lunch was a disappointment Beef was obviously pre cooked and tasteless And the veg was also tasteless and why do you charge extra for Yorkshire pudding ?

We hadn't booked but although the pub was very busy Zoe who was on duty found us a table by the bar. We both ordered the rump steak ( first time on menu). What a good choice cooked just how we wanted ( compliments to the chef). Generally a most enjoyable visit food excellent. .Varied menu very clean and well worth the visit. Special thanks to Richard ( manager) and Zoe who welcomed us warmly.Will definitely return. Jayne and Bob ( shard End)

Visited the plough recently reccomend by an acquaintance for Sunday lunch. Had previously attended a wake where the buffet had been very good. Unfortunately the same cant be said about the Sunday roast.The soup was watery and tasteless,the roast was mediocre, overcooked vegetables, flavourless meat and all drowned in gravy.Desert being a stale chocolate cake.The place was packed however,the staff were very attentive and friendly just massively let down by the main reason for going...the food.

2nd time here, all was going well until one of the regulars decided to make a racist comment as I walked past him.

The food is amazing, we had a good selection of food and everyone loved their meal. I can recommend the mixed grill, really good !!

Pre booked a table for eight for family Sunday lunch, on arrival we were informed our table was still occupied, fearing a disappointment we were quickly offered a pod at no extra cost. The overall experience was first class, staff were excellent and the sunday lunch was absolutely delicious, I would definitely recommend.

I had sirloin steak which was v good, My gf on the other hand had "roast" Sunday dinner but with no roast potatoes, they forgot to tell us they'd run out of them which was disappointing, also her lamb was tough & fatty, then we ordered apple pie, unfortunately the pastry was very underbaked, raw in the middle, which they refunded us for, so all in all not very good,

Great value Sunday roasts. Proper beer too, which is unusual to find in the same pub. The place is rightly very popular and at least o Sundays booking is essential. Friendly and helpful waiting staff. Hard to fault, really.

Took partner there today 1st time and I cannot praise the staff food ambiance, the staff were friendly and treated us both like we were part of the family, as for the meals out of this world the portions were just right the dessert were more than plenty if you are passing through shustoke book a table and you won't be disappointed. Downside car park was hard to enter due to vehicles blocking entrance going out and be patient as the food was slightly longer coming otherwise perfect

We hired a pod for a family meal. Very comfortable but I wish there was some way to notify the staff that we required service. The food was very nice and normal nice pub prices

Lovely family and dog friendly meal. Steak was absolutely amazing!!! Staff very attentive and helpful. Variety of pub food on the menu and a good variety of desserts too (the icecream sundae is recommended!). We will be back!

Me and my family went for my nan 70th birthday and we had a great meal and a lovely time and it was the 8 of us in the pod. But inside of the pod it was limited space because it was at full capacity. When we had food it tasted very good, I liked hunters chicken it wasn’t too bad. Service was good, we didn’t have to wait too long for the food and drink We also liked the Bluetooth speaker inside because we were able to select our own music which I liked. There were people from the other pod which were quite loud which I didn’t like.

We booked a pod for my moms 70th birthday. The pods are lovely but a little restrictive on space, there's not much personal space but ours was full to capacity so if you didn't have maximum numbers it would be better. The food was absolutely fantastic. I've had the fish and chips before and that's nice and generous portions. But I had the shoulder of lamb this time and it was so so delicious, the meat just falls off the bone and there's tons of meat on there . The starters and puddings were lovely too and reasonably priced. The service was fantastic, staff were attentive . The only star taken off the atmosphere was the people from the other pods became a bit rowdy outside of their pod so this impacted us a little bit. Absolutely recommend and will definitely be coming back.

Enjoyed a decent meal here, in one of the pods situated at the front of the pub. The pod cost us £30 to hire, but allowed us to keep children under control and have a family meal to celebrate recent exam success. The service was very decent, food universally enjoyed and a good selection of drinks, including my current favourite ‘Cruzcampo’. There’s ample car parking at the back of the pub.

Really lovely little pub with a great lunch and light bites menu. Liked it so much we drive for an hour to return when on our holiday.

We rented a pod for a family celebration. Booking was simple, the pod is clean and well equipped but could do with some air conditioning or at least a fan inside. Rich was our waiter and he was brilliant. Got everything in the order spot on, was quick and a really pleasant guy. The food was good, not amazing but it was fine for what we were looking for and what it cost. All in all, a really pleasant day, good food, no issues. We will definitely be returning.

A group of us met up and we booked a pod which was lovely as it was a lovely evening and it was nice.to have just our group together. You can play your own music in the pods. The food was lovely and the service was great. We had a lovely waitress for the evening. Would definitely go back.

Randomly picked this place as somewhere I have never been before and booked a table for 4. Had a fantastic evening, the service and staff were extremely helpful and we all left in the car discussing of when we are going to visit again.

We had a gorgeous evening here in one of the outdoor pods. The food was spot on and the service made our evening. The pods are a fantastic way to have a celebration and have it feel secluded and intimate, and the team really helped to make it feel special. Massive thank you. I'll be back.

We hired a pod for a 21st birthday, the pods had heating, lighting and Bluetooth music system, free WiFi, and impeccable cleanliness. The staff were absolutely perfect and catered for our needs without fuss. The place is dog friendly and a friendly atmosphere. The food choices. Prices and quality of the food is the best I have ever eaten the steak was nearly 2inches thick yet cooked perfectly to my requirements, literally the knife fell through it, the meat melts on your tongue. Visit here I highly recommend this establishment. 10 / 10

Fantastic country pub. Stunning inside and out. We turned up without a booking and were seated quickly. The food was lovely (4 star simply because it was pretty standard food, hard to get wrong). The services was great and we were attended to at all times. Atmosphere was classic country pub, just what you want really! Will definitely be back

The meal were perfect and staff were friendly and helpful . I highly recommend.the plough inn for a nice meal out. You can also take your dog and they can have dog ice cream. The only one thing. I felt squash up by the wall at table 5 and struggled to get in and out. Other than that . Brilliant

The staff at this establishment were absolutely fantastic, providing excellent service and making sure that our experience was top-notch. The landlady and landlord were also incredibly attentive, going above and beyond to ensure that all of our needs were met. After a tense game against Huddersfield Town, we were in need of a good stop off, and this place delivered. We were able to relax and unwind, as we drank loads and enjoyed the lively atmosphere. The DJ kept us entertained with great music, and we couldn't help but dance the night away. Although we didn't have any food, we were more than satisfied with the drinks and the overall experience. We will definitely be returning to this place in the future.

What a fantastic place….!!! The staff go above and beyond to help , nothing was to much trouble..!! When we called to enquire about booking a pod for our daughter birthday they was fantastic…!!! when we explained that our daughter is autistic and has an assistance dog and could they accommodate us…. I have to say this is one of the best places I have ever been to and was so impressed by there attitude towards people with additional needs….!!!! On the night everything was just perfect staff friendly and helpful… food was amazing… would highly recommend to anyone..!!

We hired the 20 seater pod for a birthday celebration. We were pleased that we had the pod for the whole evening, so we could go at our own pace.Service was good, attentive without being overbearing. There was sometimes a little wait bit all pods were full as well as a busy pub so we expected as such. Food was very good. Out of 19 people the only complaint is that one steak was overcooked and looked more well.done than medium. Other than that we had a lovely meal. I also thought the price was very reasonable. The atmosphere in the pod was great, lighting, hook up to our own music, perfect for our needs. It was mentioned that there needed to be more female toilets for such a busy pub, we were often queueing. Other than. That there really was not.much to complain about.

Very poor pub food.well over priced to.ive had better food at wetherspoons. Disposal condiment pots were like McDonald's sauce pots 🤣.beers was well over priced to..wouldn't recommend this place at all.

First time we have visited the plough today, The service and food was very good and would definitely visit again.

First time being here tonight. Hired the big pod for a 60th anaversery. The food was lovely I had the pulled pork, one of the best iv had, would definitely recommend. Staff were lovely. Price is just right. I can see myself going back here. Think il be getting the mixed grill next time as that looked tasty aswell. Thank you for the lovely meal. 5 ⭐️

Together with a small group of colleagues, I have been visiting the Plough on a monthly basis for a few years now. It is a small privately owned pub that consistently provides high quality food and service at competitive prices. Service from all staff is excellent. This really is an excellent hostelry. As it can get quite busy, reserving a table is advised.

We had great food brilliant service. And cosy atmosphere. We come again.

We really enjoyed our lunch here. Very high-quality food was accompanied with efficient and genial service, despite a 15-minute power cut halfway through the meal. Our friends, who lunched with us, were also very impressed. A good selection of ales too. We will definitely be back for another fabulous dining experience.

Went for my birthday, my dad was happy with his food the minted lamb chops but the burger was awful and dripping with grease. I ordered a side of onion rings, there was 3 on my plate, undercooked, cheap and smaller then the palm of my hand, usually a side dish comes out separate and they didn't not, and was a rip off price of £3.50. Just did not enjoy the food at all.

Great food friendly staff I would highly recommend

Some may think this petty, but I had a lunch menu baguette and the sausage tasted very cheap. I stand to be corrected, but there were definitely vibes of them coming from a big frozen bag and being deep fried for 10 minutes. I know budgets are a massive consideration in food/menus, but I would be very disappointed had I ordered something like sausage and mash and saw those turn up on the plate. With that being said, this is still one of my favourite local pubs, I just don't think I'll order the sausage again.

Food is always really nice. It is best to book a table/pod or you could end up waiting a while for a table to become available.

Last Sunday we hired a Pod to have a family celebration for u husbands birthday. It was a hit with everyone especially the grandchildren who thought it was a rocket! A big thank you to Maddie and the rest of the staff who looked after us. Would definitely recommend hiring a Pod Thank you
