Coffi Co in Cardiff

Waited ages for two staff to say they didn't have one of the two choices for toasties. Was served half of a half a pint twice, and when we mentioned the glass was half empty, they just walked away. Will not return !

Stopped here for coffee and a cake with the dogs. Very good!

Absolutely terrible! Awful service! They seem to think that they are doing a great job! 15 minute wait for 3 really bad black coffees! Oh dear. What could be great is unfortunately worth avoiding!!!

Stopped for a coffee and loaded hot chocolate. Venue was busy, order via screen set up, all quite efficient. Service reasonable but slightly impersonal. Hot chocolate looked better than it was so slightly disappointing but otherwise a relatively painless experience. Might revisit for food next time.

A nice small coffee shop with a nice seating area outside. The only issue that we had was the music outside was so loud that we couldn't have a conversation so had to leave the dedicated area and move to the seating area on the other side of the walkway.

Unfortunately disappointing! Very cute location but coffee was really quite bad especially for the price. Dont think I have ever not finished a coffee I've bought before.

Saturday 5th April. Two of the male staff looked like they got dressed out of a skip! The toilets had no soap and you could hardly force the door shut.The only food on the menu was ham and cheese toastie or cheese and onion. This was at 1.30pm. There was a pizza oven outside that was smoking the whole outside seating area out! We ordered 2 ham and cheese toaties and 2 halfs of lager. 10 minutes later a staff member came out and said that they didn't have any ham and offered us cheese and onion or a refund. 2 minutes later another staff member told us the same thing, we told him we had already said we'd have have onion instead, but our drinks hadn't arrived. He said they were inside and he'd get them. One of them was bearly over half full when they finally came and when I mentioned it he just ignored me and walked off. It has definitely gone downhill over the past few months. The cheese and onion toasties were actually nice.

Weird Eurovision style teen pop playlist blasting out late morning, not sure who wants to hear that, not me. Ordered via a screen and it then took ages to get served even though pretty quiet. Decent coffee and nice spot close to the water. Place could be a lot better.

Stopped off during a walk, staff were lovely and friendly and the creme egg pie was fantastic will definitely stop by again

No sé qué ha pasado pero este lugar ha bajado colina rápido. El menú era pobre con solo café y pasteles disponibles. El trozo de pastel que tenía era como un ladrillo. Tan rancio. Puede ver que la marca de los estándares de alimentos en la puerta era un 3. No me sorprendió ya que la zona de cocina interior se veía terrible. No me ayudó el tipo que me sirvió limpiarse la nariz antes de seleccionar mi comida y no lavarse las manos. Así que vete a otra parte, hay algo mejor en la zona.

Not a bad coffee, nice slice of cake. But a 27 minute wait after ordering via a screen - absolute joke.

Lovely setting, friendly staff. Had a latte and a flat white and were disappointed with the quality of the coffee. Would definitely recommend for a beer outside in summer.

Came here for a quick coffee, had a slice of red velvet cake with it. Place is nice, cake was tasty 😋, coffee was good too.

The shipping containers in Cardiff bay. Rude manager decided to stop serving early but kept the door open leading people who were sat outside to continue making orders on the app that they would never get. No signs to say had closed early. Beware of this you’ll wait days for a refund.

Do you except cash. My friend likes to carry coin.

Get rid of the screens! Staff can’t organise the flow of customers, you end up waiting 20+ mins for a coffee. Even though there’s a handwritten note saying “check with us before ordering food”, customers still do and it takes up all the time of the staff trying to rectify it.

Had 2 hot chocolates very watery and not very hot sure wasn't worth the money won't be returning

Este lugar se ha ido cuesta abajo. El menú es pobre, el exterior es una serie de horribles bancos de plástico atornillados al suelo que está cubierto de hierba de plástico. Pedimos té gris conde, pero compramos cerveza galesa estándar. Parte de la carne en la envoltura estaba fría. No como solía ser.

Went there with some friends this afternoon (14/9) for a quick stop on our walk around the Barrage. Received the most excellent service from the 2 young men on duty, one of whom I believe was the store manager. It was very busy there, app not working too well, but they stepped up and were very friendly and helpful! Couldn't do enough for you. The cakes we had were delicious too! Don't normally do reviews, but happy to make an exception on this occasion as felt praise was necessary for their manner and assistance- well done!!

Initially stopped at Coffi Co Mermaid Quay but they didn't have much cake selection left, so checked (on the app) on Shipping Containers which had a selection, so moved venue. Placed my order, and when the drinks arrived was told that not only was the cake that I ordered not available, but pretty much no cakes were available... Despite showing on the app. If your business model is "order on the app" then make sure the thing is showing accurate stock! Replacement cake arrived and was underwhelming, kinda bland and dry. No cutlery provided until requested so presumably I was supposed to just shove my face straight into the plate?? Disappointed to receive paper cups with a very difficult to remove lid, cardboard plates and cutlery. Toilets had no toilet paper and no soap. Would avoid. This place seems to be coasting on its location.

Just had tea and cake; cake was superb! Nice place, perfectly positioned for a pit stop on a walk around the Bay from Penarth.

Food has always been lovely. When ordering food my girlfriend ordered at the bar and pronounced a word wrong and got corrected by staff along with both members laughing about it and made her feel very uncomfortable. She does struggle with dyslexia and was not happy when leaving the bar. Came across really rude.

Stopped for a delicious iced latte this morning. Curtis served me and what a asset to Coffi Co. Although took a while (he was flying solo) it was worth the wait and he was v chatty and upbeat so made the wait bearable. Delicious. Cakes looked immense but I manage to resist !

A good place for a quick breakfast and coffee.

Had a coffee with my partner today. Asked to use the toilet, and informed by the staff member on duty that they do not have toilet facilities. This wpuld certainly make it the quirkiest bar/cafe in cardiff. It would also be the only one able to operate legally without toilet fascilities........

Bit expensive for what you get, £4 for a brownie, £3 for a medium Americano. Coffee tastes bad, no flavour and very diluted. When eating in everything is served with disposable plates and cups. There are apparently no toilets on the premises.

Oh those Danish pastries are a road to perdition. You can't just have one! Worth going and the cinnamon rolls are wife's favourite. It's the millionaire for me.

Waited ages for a coffee that was undrinkable

Visited today and wouldn't recommend or return. Why people return is beyond me. You can only order via an app. App doesn't always work and when it does it takes ages. Freezing outside. Cake given to you in paper bags. Some cakes are big and messy with no cutlery given to eat it with. Not ideal for a child either.

This is an absolutely great place to have coffee, cakes and breakfast baps, and of course, beers and wine. The prices are about average for Cardiff Bay, so it isn't cheap, but you pay a premium for the view over the water. The coffee is good, the cakes are very good, the bacon baps are excellent and the beers are very good, with a nice choice. The atmosphere is great, with nice music playing at the right volume, and Maria is just the best - friendly, helpful, welcoming . . . a great manager! The only slight problem is the lack of indoor seating. In a recent visit on a cold day, about two thirds of the people who came into the place left without buying anything. It's not a problem when it's warm and/or sunny, but on cold damp days money is walking down the road to other coffee shops.

Excellent little place for a light lunch overlooking the bay. Delicious food and friendly service.

Food was good. Lovely view. Low star raring because there were several birds flying around the cafe. The staff didn't seem bothered so I don't know if they're normally here? But it's really off-putting eating your dinner with the fear something might swoop down and take your breakfast

Ordered two coffees using their QR code system at the table and despite the fact that it did not seem crowded, it took 16 mins to get the drinks. I was wondering if my order went through. Probably could improve on that.

The team are always so kind when I come here. Dog friendly and accessible for me to be able to sit and enjoy the views. The coffee is so good and whilst their menu does not state gluten free options, they are able to make some items gluten free. Usually I'll ask when I arrive if they have GF bread and then they will make whatever I like. Love this place. Never have to take my wallet with me either as the app is super easy! 👌

Beautiful Location, however my friend ordered an Oat Milk latte, had asked the waiter twice if it was correct. Only to go straight to the kitchen and find out that it was in fact cows milk. Food hygiene rating is 2, and is not presented clearly. Would not go again.

Cute spot for coffee in Cardiff Bay! They have a fun and tasty selection of drinks you can get. My favorite is the Nutella bueno shake!

OMG it's like being in lockdown again, have to wait outside at a desk to be served, everything is disposable they don't reuse anything OK, it's biodegradable and not plastic but we should be reusing not single use, no toilets at the place you have a 10 to 15 minute walk to nearest publics, food and drinks were OK, but would rather walk the extra couple of minutes to the Norwegian Church. First time last time for us. There is only outside seating and not pram friendly.

Went for breakfast, and the food was really nice, as were the drinks. Yes, it's a little more expensive than some places, but as long as the quality of food is better, I don't mind paying that bit more.

Very poor and expensive, poor customer service and the coffee was very average....

I have had a dodgy stomach for two days after eating there. This made worse by the food being horrible anyway! I shouldn’t have eaten it but I missed breakfast so was hungry. One waiter (female was lovely, but the other (male) was rude and dismissive. I will definitely never return.

This cafe was our salvation today when the heavy rain and strong winds hit Cardiff Bay. It offers lovely views of the area and a delicious looking array of cakes and pastries. I had a sausage bap which had two tasty sausages in it and was very good value for £5.00. Breakfast is served until 12pm and I would definitely come back

Plus: Latte was good and the service was friendly. Minus: One can only sit outside on cold wet recycled tables and benches. Definitely room for improvement.

Coffico in Bayscape is great but had a terrible experience in Coffico Cardiff Bay. Went for breakfast at the weekend with 2 others and the service was appalling. After waiting for 30 minutes for food, the waitress came over and said that the kitchen could not make the dish I had ordered so she would refund this. She did not offer to bring me anything else or let me order an alternative as breakfast menu was finished. She brought my friends food quickly after this so I couldn’t even order off the lunch menu as my friends would be finished their meal by then and I would likely wait another 30 minutes for food. I just didn’t eat which wasn’t ideal as we were there for breakfast. No compensation given, just refunded the meal they could not provide. Definitely wouldn’t recommend

Cashless ...coffee is marvellous after bay barrage walk

Very dissatisfied with what we were given. Toast burnt on one side and not toasted on other side and served falling apart. Cappuccino served in a flat white size takeaway cup! Wrote email to explain situation. No reply. Not likely to go there again despite living in the Bay!

The location is good, but the venue is understaffed which means that the waiting times are really long. Coffee is fine. System of waiting outside to order isn't efficient. They should allow people to order inside, meaning less distance for servers to walk (you'd just give coffee over the counter).

Nice coffee. Strange setup with the entrance barricaded, so you have to order at the entrance and can only sit outside. Seats and tables are functional rugged plastic.

Visited here for the first time as building looked inviting with its glass sides and nice views. sadly the venue is under staffed who dont really care much about what they ae doing. The coffee is rubbish not nice and I couldnt finish it. Sadly wont be back

Took ages for a middle of the line coffee. Unusual that there’s no customer toilet. Disappointing to have no options for vegan pastries.

I was recommended to come here for a takeaway milkshake and… wow! This was amazing, deffo will be coming back for another.

I normally love Coffi Co and usually use Bayscape but this one is nowhere near as good. Despite eating in the drinks are served in paper cups. Why? Despite being quiet, it took 15 minutes for coffee to be served by staff with a bad attitude.

Rubbish service. Food came out at different times, 25 minutes apart. The staff made no attempt to sort out the delay when we asked. The cawl is very expensive for a small bowl and small bit of bread…. £11.50! I won’t be going back, try somewhere else.

Took a long walk with my wife and came across this place had a coffee and a nice meal can recommend this place.

Einer der ersten Orte, die sich für einen Kaffee oder ein Bier angeboten haben, wenn man die Barrage vom Westen aus überquert. Sonderlich nachhaltig und umweltbewusst fand ich den Ort nicht. Obwohl wir vor Ort Kaffee und Kuchen gegessen haben, bekamen wir unsere Getränke in Pappbechern und den Victorian Sponge Cake in einer Plastik-Pappverpackung serviert. Dazu etwas aufdringliche Club Music. Geschmackssache. Wer gepflegt Kaffee trinken will, dem empfehle ich das Café der 200m entfernten norwegischen Kirche.
