Great coffee & breakfast. The Italian gentleman was really lovely!

Excellent customer service - I didn't catch his name but he is so friendly and made me the best coffee I've had in ages (better than costa) I have had some bad customer service in a different shop today, but he cheered me up so much. Thank you! Appreciate your hard work.

The food & coffee is way too expensive but I guess that's how it is with these coffee shops. Not my thing tbh.

Mediocre coffee with good service.

Had a pleasant experience going to this coffee shop, the red head girl was extremely polite and helpful. She recommended trying the smoother coffee and I thoroughly enjoyed it. However there was a middle aged man who I found to be rude to her and he was continuously cutting her off when she was talking. He also had an attitude problem with customers coming in.

There are many bad reviews about this Costa , They are all accurate , Staff are very rude , I ordered a skinny caramel late , instead I got a semi skimmed late with out the caramel , when I challenged the Barista I got a really horrible attitude & a very rude response ! ! ! I will NEVER return here & will also be passing my feedback to costa . This branch of costa is always DIRTY & never feel welcoming , Avoid this costa , there are plenty of other coffee shops locally .

Currently on crutches, staff were lovely and offering to help. Atmosphere was very cosy and coffee was tasty.

Good enough place in my experience. However, I found that if you sat behind the partition between the serving area and the seating and when the staff were talking with each other the sound echoed off the top of the partition and was distracting. Wonder how much they could hear the other way around.

Staff are rude which puts me and friends off coming. It is understandable that there are rules and regulations but the staff, especially the manager, fail to maintain professionalism.

The manager here is constantly rude, obnoxious, and unnecessarily loud. She seems to think that being unprofessional comes with her "manager" title. Really puts me off returning to this branch, I was with friends who also mentioned they would not be returning. The branch on Wellfield road is much more organised, with friendly / welcoming staff - which I have now decided to become a regular at. I understand having a bad day on occasion, we all have bad days, but to constantly be rude and act above everyone is simply poor customer service.

The manager ( lady) at this establishment has an extremely unfriendly attitude. There is a strong lack of professionalism when she is present. I have been made to feel uncomfortable when visiting and won’t be going there again.

I use to be a regular but recently last few weeks I’ve been coming in the female staff haven’t been very pleasant. Snapping when I did my order then rolling their eyes when I couldn’t hear them. I came in more recently with my family and they even mentioned how abrupt and Ill-mannered the staff were. Really uncalled for and made the experience unpleasant multiple times.

Clean, and not too crowded when I went on a Friday lunchtime. Had large coffee and decent ham and cheese panini for around £7. My friend had a large toasted sandwich and coffee for a similar price. Service was friendly and efficient.

The coffee is absolutely superb, the ideal spot to relax with a good book or crack on with some work. The chairs are ridiculously comfortable, amazing place to unwind. The staff are friendly. The food is hit or miss and overpriced, but as a coffee shop you can’t do much better!

Coconut Latte and hot chocolate lovely, but the service was so long, only two staff one making coffee orders and other heating up food and taking orders and payments. So so slow. The two staff which were there mind were very apologetic and very friendly.

I enjoyed my hot chocolate and cake! Very friendly staff and atmosphere.

Went in yesterday, and today I was totally put off by the smell of Wet Dog. This is where I normally meet friends and business acquaintances but today, and yesterday’s experience was awful. It spoilt the atmosphere and my meeting. To be honest, I wasn’t the only customer that was put off. Whilst sitting at a table in front of the cafe, a few people came in and queued for a minute before walking out and commenting on the smell. Not a place to visit if your not accompanied by a dog.

Busy time so sat upstairs. Staff brought food upstairs with a smile, a pleasant guy he asked if we wanted anything else. He also checked, cleared other tables before he left.

i went in for a coffee with my friends and a blonde girl served me and i found her to be extremely rude because of the way she spoke to me and when i went to pay she just put the amount on the machine and walked off and didn’t tell me how much it was which made me feel uncomfortable i’m not sure her reasoning for this but it wasn’t necessary. very disappointed as i really like this coffee shop .

The worst branch of coffee number one in Cardiff . Internet doesn't work in this shop. offen doesn't not work dishewasher or milk steamer. But stuff is very friendly and polite.

Stopped by due to having to wait around for an appointment in the area. When being served I explained what kind of iced coffee I wanted and the guy behind the counter did exactly what I wanted!

Used to frequent this place a few years back, and have visited several times recently. The guy working here is annoyingly loud and loves the sound of his own voice, as do a few offer staff members. It’s scruffy with dirty loos and considering they are a coffee house the coffee is at best average with a latte looking and tasting like Luke warm dish water. Chairs have holes in and the place is generally run down. Used to be busy but it looks like people are voting with their feet, needs someone with excellence running this place, we’ll be going else where

Coffee lovely, cheescake a bit dry and tasted pretty average, but I needed a sugar fix. 5* for coffee, 3* for cheesecake.

Overpriced and they don’t let you eat food from outside the shop. This is a ridiculous policy considering the fact you already pay £3+ for your coffee and the food is very expensive. I would recommend Eartha, Blossom or Wildflower instead for better drinks, polite staff and a more enjoyable experience.

Awful. Staff keep talking terrible coffee and stale cakes. Never agsin. Complsined just said ok!! And walked away. Never agsin wasted my money. So very untidy with dirty cups everywhere. No excuses. Went again.....even worse. Get the cafe CLEANED UP. 26TH FEB.

Coffee is always lovely but I wouldn't say the staff are the friendliest.

We normally visit Coffee #1 in Wellfield Rd, which always without fail serves the best coffee anywhere in the area, but when we visited last time there was nowhere to sit so we went to the Coffee #1 in Albany Rd instead. If afraid the latte coffee was nothing like as good. Need to sort the milk out please.

Very nice coffee and a very good café.

Mostly satisfied with my visit with my best friend. After a long afternoon of shopping we went in for a coffee and a cake. The selection was wonderful and the ambience was calming. Was slightly upset that the staff has confused the order up and there was a briefly longer wait but alas the cakes and coffee were yum! Will defo recommend to anyone who’s nearby. Pricing was fair also!

I slightly prefer wellfield Rd. But its good coffee. This one maybe suffered to bounce back after covid closure.

Had a pleasurable visit to this store the ham and cheese toasty was delicious and one of the best iv had! I promise! No crispy crust heree! Unlike another well known place The atmosphere was very relaxed, quiet and even forgot I was there at one point The Banoffee pie was tasty but maybe not get it again.. I was 50/50 on this And the drink.. a mint white chocolate cooler/frappe forgot its name i lived this though but wish I said no cream though as I'm not a fan

The alarm goes off more or less everyday and I have largely lost track of it now... I made Coffee#1 aware of this issue 57 days ago and it does appear an interesting marketing tactic for sales; make the local residents tired so they need caffeine. Genuinely I have lost track of the amount of times I have been woken up during the night / early hours from it. However, I do not, despite the suggestion of their customer service team, believe it should be the requirement of residents to keep a record of when Coffee#1's neurotic alarm goes off at unsociable hours. Surely the control panel will have a record of when the alarm goes off?

On multiple occasions I’ve visited this branch of coffee 1, I usually love it here but one of the younger male staff makes the experience uncomfortable as he’s condescending and rolled his eyes at my friend as he ordered his drinks and never has a smile on his face. It makes the experience unpleasant when you just want to enjoy a coffee. However all the other staff are lovely

Always excellent service when I go here, especially From the older gentleman in charge, who always takes time to ask how you’re doing and has top customer service. If I was the employer, I’d be very happy with this employee!

As with all #1s the coffee is just fab. This particular store is usually appropriately busy and has plenty of sitting space. This included the mush coverts window seats! Good selection of sandwiches, cake and pastry as you would expect. Unexpected bonus, open for take out only during lock down, it had been weeks since I'd had a proper coffee- very appreciated :)

Came here with my class recently to learn all about Cafes and the manager, staff and customers were so kind, patient and accomadating. The children really enjoyed exploring a chilled, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Thank you for a fantastic opportunity to get involved in the local area and develop community links.

I love the Coffee#1 chain, their drinks are lovely and the prices aren’t extortionate. The only let down with this particular branch is customer service. The staff seem indifferent and one I encountered openly mocked a customer (and old lady who couldn’t hear him properly) while I was waiting for my drink. He was condescending and rude when the wrong was given to me. Honestly will not be stopping by this particular branch again, it’s a shame the staff let it down. The branch just off queen street in Cardiff city centre on the other hand is wonderful.

I prefer this Cafe than Costa's across the road. Everything on display looks delicious but I draw the line when a Panini is nearly the same price as a meal at a local eatery. Could do with more space at the counter, I felt like I was speaking to a flapjack with a voice! What's on offer are yummy eats, wiped down tables and smiley staff.

Visited on a cold and wet weekend . Warm , cozy and inviting . Staff were welcoming and friendly . Good selection of sweet and savoury small plates . Clean tables and surrounds .

Really nice coffee but havent been back since Xmas Eve when our drink was interupted by a live mouse running around the ground floor of the coffee shop-hope it's been sorted now!

Absolutely awful. I am pretty badly lactose intolerant and I specifically asked for a soy latte due to this. I was given a cows milk one and did not realise until I had drank most of it. Although the staff did make me another latte, I was already feeling very ill and due to this I could not continue with my work I came to do at the coffee shop. I was even sick in their toilets due to this. They are lucky I did not have a severe dairy allergy. An awful mistake to make, I will NOT be returning.
