Coffee#1 Warwick in Warwick - Phone Number, Reservations, Reviews

This used to be hands down the best coffee spot in Warwick, but sadly is more often than not disappointing now. Two main problems and these both relate to the store environment. 1. Poor placement of the seating, plenty of seating available but much of it badly placed a large part of the comfy seating is either all blocked together or right in front of the bar area… the busiest nosiest part of the cafe, not good for either sitting and studying/reading or a quiet chat. A poor use of the space and 2. Often the tables are left dirty and not clear up for a long time, with dirties piling up.

No night time clean up ever done. Same litter on floor day after day. Filthy toilets not cleaned or disinfected at night or before opening. Sullen staff member who can’t even be bothered to open on time or offer any explanation why she was late again. Manager and best staff member have now left. It can only get worse. Avoid this cafe. Far better service and cleanliness at most other cafes in Warwick. I have complained to no avail. We won’t be revisiting resulting in a £3000 per year loss of turnover to the business.

I have popped in here twice now on a Sunday. I would usually go to Jacks Shack as it’s the best coffee and service in town. But they are closed sun/mon. Unfortunately the staff are just so rude and unpleasant, I won’t bother trying it out again in the future. They don’t acknowledge you at all, just stand there chatting. They act like it’s a huge inconvenience that you’re there ordering from them. With so much choice in town I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Large choice of drinks ( I personally enjoy the ‘Summerset’ smoothie) and a good choice of pastries. The interior is spacious and there’s almost always a free table.

Perfect - we brought our wedding guests here the morning after our wedding. The team had reserved a space for us and the range of food and coffees was perfect for our large group. Huge thank you to everyone working that day - I’ll be grabbing coffee and cake here regularly!

Drinks were fine but on our visit, we had cause to use the bathrooms, which were possibly the most disgusting we've encountered and the thick grime and discoloration around the wash basin was pretty damning evidence that this hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. I won't even go into the state of the toilet and toilet brush. You could tell that this was filth over several days not just several visits. Unfortunately, we left our (rather special) brolly in there when we left so once we realised, we phoned the branch to ask if they could put it to one side for us to collect on the way back. Disinterested is not the word. I was just told they didn't know anything about it. So I politely asked if they would take a look at that exact table (we knew exactly where we'd left it) and put it aside if they saw it. "Yeah, ok" was the reply. So, when we arrived back at the coffee shop an hour or more later, there it was, exactly where we left it, so sadly, despite saying they would, they couldn't spare 30 seconds for a bit of customer service. The shop had a few people in there but they weren't so busy to have made a quick scout impossible. So, Coffee 1 staff, thanks very much for nothing. Fortunately for us, the honest folk of Warwick had left it alone and we got it back. I queued for a good 5 mins at the end of the servery to let the staff know I'd found it but despite eye contact, got ignored, so gave up and left. Probably, never to return as I prefer places where the staff seem to care!

My partner and I visited yesterday following a dog walk round Warwick. The dishwasher was broken and therefore takeaway cups were provided. I ordered a cappuccino which was nice although could have been hotter and was offered to upgrade to a stronger coffee. I’m not sure how much extra this cost. I also witnessed the “to do” with a member of staff and would agree that the staff member was rude and did not appear to not like her job. The looks she gave the lady were appalling. The toilets were unclean with wet floors I have to admit after reading a plethora of bad reviews that there seems to be an emerging trend of surly staff members and poor hygiene standards. Pros: - good coffee - dog friendly - centre of Warwick Cons: - unclean - wet toilet floors - poor customer service - Kevin & Perry-esque attitude

Visited today for a Mother's Day treat, just for four hot drinks and some quality family time. We had disgusting, rude service from one (? new) female member of staff. We have been visiting this coffee shop almost every week for some time and have never experienced such rudeness, even at exceptionally busy times. They were unable to provide the fourth drink that we had ordered (frappe) due to the machine being broke so my daughter said she would pop over to the table to ask what alternative drink I wanted. When she returned to the counter 15 seconds later, she was told she had to join the end of the queue to order the alternative drink despite the fact that the rest of our order was almost ready. The girl was adamant that it is company policy and despite the fact that the rest of the drinks would go cold, we had to go to the back of the long queue so that we could order the remaining drink. We pointed out that it was an unfair policy when we just wanted an alternative to what they could not provide. We received filthy looks from the member of staff with major attitude as she muttered under her breath to her colleague telling her not to rush with our drinks. Yes, we complained about her attitude to the manager who dealt with it professionally, we had a refund and went elsewhere. If we wanted Karen's Diner treatment, we would have gone there instead! The review prior to this is so obviously a fake review which in itself puts the ethics of this coffee shop to question. Looking on both sides of the coin, if the previous review is genuine (I very much doubt it), then someone else was complaining too about the awful service

My daughter and I enjoyed a coffee here today. It was very busy, understandably so being Mothers’ Day, but we found a seat and were served pretty quickly. The staff were pleasant and polite whilst faced with a long queue. Coffee was good - always like an oatmilk latte from here!

I also popped in for a Mother’s Day treat with my daughters and witnessed the interaction between the lady who has reviewed below and the member of staff. I found the service to be impeccable the shop was very busy and the staff friendly and helpful. This lady clearly had a bee in her bonnet about something she was incredibly rude to the staff member and seemed to believe she was far more important than every other customer in the shop and queuing was beneath her. The staff member was professional and despite the lady clearly being in the wrong. The staff were professional and helpful on all accounts the experience very pleasant for myself and my daughters and an enjoyable day out.

Stopped by for a lovely Mother’s Day treat - service was wonderful as usual despite the café being very busy. There seemed to be a newer member of staff serving today and she was very pleasant to deal with. Only downside was some other customers we encountered who seemed to be giving the staff a hard time over very minor issues - dealt with really professionally! Definitely would recommend.

I visited today with my young children after visiting Warwick Castle and all I can say is the patience of the young girl Megan that served us was amazing!! Although all the staff were rushed off their feet with endless orders and a queue she still took the time to ask us about our day and interact with my son and daughter. She didn’t just take our order and push us to the side, she seemed genuinely interested in conversation and had a smile the entire time even when customers were being anything but polite. You can really tell it’s an enjoyable place to work as all the other staff seemed happy to be there aswell, so thank you for making our time enjoyable aswell 10/10 will be coming back

It’s not difficult to beat a panini. Must be completely different staff who served me as I found them cold and distant. Manager not particularly helpful when I complain my food was cold. Coffee was mediocre at best and all. I’d use one of the many much better options in warwick before returning.

Even the staff must know how awful the Americano is because every time you order it they try to upgrade you to a more expensive one! Very annoying to have to go through this upselling procedure when it must be obvious that nobody would want to pay an extra 30p to try something that they had never had before. If they want to test new flavours they should give free samples. Otherwise just serve the customer what they ordered. Even the staff look embarrassed to ask this stupid question. Area manager take note. Stop asking staff to do this. It’s a waste of time.

I went to this venue, for the first time, this morning at 1000. It was excellent in every respect, the coffee was very good, the porridge even better but best of all was Aaron. He was a perfect role model for delivering fantastic customer service: friendly, smiling, knowledgeable, patient & genuinely delightful. What a great experience & based on all of the above I will definitely be back. Thank you

Returned to coffee1 on 28th January (in the morning) after a break. Finally we dealt with professional staff members: capable and welcoming. The surly ones mentioned by other reviewers were not there. Thankfully. Maybe that’s a coincidence but the place looked clean and the coffee was good. Some of the furniture is really knackered though.

We had a lovely family catch up at Coffee#1 last Sunday. It’s a great place, friendly staff, the drinks and food were delicious. It had a perfect relaxed Sunday atmosphere. The staff were very helpful, particularly Alex and Ella pointing out some suitable children’s books and colouring pencils to help entertain our little ones.

I visited our local coffee#1 with my husband today, probably the best hot chocolate I have had in a while, and my husband also commented on his caramel latte!! Always enjoy the hot drinks here but particularly good today, thank you Alex who served us. See you soon 😊

I often go to Coffee One in Warwick for a drink and it is such a friendly place. The staff are great and you always see the same faces so they must be doing something right to have so many regulars. The only downside is that it often gets busy which does mean you sometimes have to wait for a drink, but it is worth the wait. There is decent WiFi which makes it a good place to work and there are often several people on their laptops. The place is quite spacious so even when it is busy you can usually find somewhere to sit and not feel crowded. Good atmosphere, good tea and really great staff.

This is not aimed at the Warwick Coffee#1 team as they are friendly and helpful. But the senior team at Coffee#1 have decided to only do takeaways in Warwick post-Covid. I was told that I could go to the Leamington Coffee#1 to sit down but it’s about 3 miles away. I saw so many other potential customers turned away from what is easily the biggest coffee shop in Warwick. Silly mistake Head Office as Warwick customers are loyal but I’ve now found a great cup of coffee near Warwick Square instead.

Coffee#1 are everywhere - but not all Coffee#1s are equal... We love the laid back vibe and space that these coffee shops offer, but Coffee#1 Warwick gave by far the warmest of welcomes we've ever received. The café was clean, the staff patient, helpful and friendly, and the coffee was spot on. If we're ever back in Warwick this will be our first port of call!

Wow. Wow. Wow. This place is more than just a ‘coffee shop’ it’s everything you could ask for. A great service every time, the staff are always smiling, great to talk to and even offer up some ‘banter’ the coffee is always bang on and the brunch burrito is the best thing for that casual bite to eat. The place is always clean, I pop in for work where sitting in the corner with my headphones in is bliss, but I also take my god son up when on baby sitting duty, the manager Henry is great with him too! More importantly I can also take along the pooch! Overall this has everything anyone could want for in a relaxing chilled atmosphere.

Our first visit from the States to Warwick led us to grab a bite at the friendliest coffee shop ever. The staff were so accommodating, the food scrumptious and coffee amazing. Felt like we lived in Warwick, we were treated so well!

My grandchildren can not wait to come here, they feel like royalty whenever they come after we visit the local park, We also seem to come when it is very busy but we do not feel rushed, we will happily spend an afternoon with coffee and delightful hot choccies for the kids. Gluten free selection of cakes is fantastic for us, would like to see more savoury option but this is obviously not the teams fault. Would recommend coming here for anyone! I come here frequently with my son.Henry and the team always make me feel so welcome. I love the fact that even when it’s busy they take the time to bring my order over to me to save me struggling with the pushchair, something not afforded in many places.

This is our local coffee shop which we visit at least five times week. Coffee and food excellent, however the staff are outstanding. Always very friendly and take time to get to know your name and your regular order. Henry is the manager and he has created a great team. Definitely recommend

Visited on Saturday with my daughter for a well earned coffee and some lunch. Good service, tables nice and clean and not cluttered with dirty cups etc like some coffee shops in Warwick. Nice ambience with friendly staff. Particularly liked the recycling of coffee grains which were free to take away and add to my compost. Will definitely call again.

If I remember correctly, one staff member, Carys E was brilliant, super nice, and well had a smile on her face the whole time I was there with my mates and she was always seeing if what we had got was ok for us.

Went for a coffee and wanted to use my loyalty points for a free coffee.The member of staff who served me just wasn’t interested, she gave my card back and said I couldn’t use it as the system had changed and I needed to register a new card and get the app. I tried to get the app but apparently it’s not available until September!!! So I now have 14+ loyalty points that I can’t use, and,unusually for coffee 1, my coffee wasn’t as I ordered .i have emailed coffee one but even they can’t be bothered to reply.

We we're doing a tour of Warwick Castle and was recommended this spot for a drink and some light lunch. As I entered and walked to the till I was greeted by a tattooed and very friendly member of staff named Rob. He was efficient and we weren't waiting long at all for our order. I had recently visited on the weekend of the folk festival. The coffee was excellent and I was impressed at the hard work shown by the staff members who seemed to never stop smiling under all the pressure.

Before I moved house, I was a regular customer in this particular establishment. Having moved just over a year ago, I was looking forward to returning. Even after my move, this cafe remained my favourite. When I returned not so long ago - with my elderly mother - I was disheartened. While I popped to the WCs leaving my mother to order our coffees (and teacake), I discovered a lack of cleanliness, which I can only imagine hadn't seen a cleaning implement at all that day - at least - it was already past 2pm! The lack of hygiene continued throughout the visit much to my dismay, from flies and wasps hovering over our teacake, also the dirty plates on surrounding tables. Since, my mother has returned and I was extremely disappointed to hear the condescending attitude the staff had towards my mother, who was left feeling inferior. I was hesitant to write a review as this is not my scene, but after my mothers return being a negative visit, after our previous visit also, I am determined to shed light on this issue. The staff need some guidance in customer service, and after reading previous reviews I am shocked to discover the lack of respect shown in the sarcastic replies, which sound convincingly similar to how we were treated by the brown haired gentleman who served us.

Service is slow at best of times so there was no way I was going to the back after quite rightly being at the front. I was a regular and loved the atmosphere but haven’t been coming recently as often find there to be a lack of food at peak times (breakfast and lunch)and there’s never enough staff so tables aren’t cleared. Recently bought a cake and the girls finger was bleeding onto the cake box which is disgusting. The customer service has gone downhill so not somewhere I enjoy going anymore.

The food was good but the customer service was the worst I have experienced. Served by someone called Jade. She brought our food to our table and just dumped the tray and spilt my girlfriend’s orange juice. Didn’t even apologise. Just rudely stated she called my number and just walked off. No smile and no please or thank you. Will not be coming here again.

This place is so much bigger than you think. Goes way back. Really nice decor and place to go for a coffee.

This was my first visit to have coffee here and it was not a good experience. The coffee was good but I had a piece of carrot cake that was dry and very stale. To make matters worse there were 2 long hairs on the plate which I found while I was eating it. When I complained the behind the counter staff did not seem concerned. There were 3 people they were chatting and looked bored and switched off. Do these people not have staff training especially in hygiene standards. I certainly will not be going here again there are plenty of other places in Warwick to have coffee.

Visited here today. Woman who served was loud with a bad attitude. Also the glass given with my drink stunk of a dirty dish cloth. It was either the glass or the ice that smelt! Either way I didn't drink it.

Visited the cafe with my family on a muggy day. Was going to have an oat milk cappuccino but saw a wide range of smoothies on offer. I was tempted by the pina colada smoothie and I was very happy with it. Non alcoholic smoothie, made with banan, pineapple and coconut. Delicious! Sister had the same and mum had mango and strawberry smoothie. Both very happy.

We were visiting Warwick and came across this coffee shop. It appealed to us because the whole front of the shop was opened up with the sun shining in it seemed very welcoming. There was one young man serving and his customer service was exceptional, calling my husband 'sir' constantly. It may seem a small gesture but I really detest how so many young people these days call everyone 'mate'. My husband ordered a coffee and cake and said the coffee was very good. The chocolate shortbread was very nice too and reasonably priced.

Came in to do some work, staff chatty but not intrusive. Had both coffee and cake, flat white and carrot for those interested and it was rather tasty! 5*!

Lovely decor, comfy chairs, choice of coffee blends, great cakes. Absolutely no negatives. Busy and quite full but never felt crowded, plenty of space to relax
