Nice venue, was lots of choices for seating and it was comfortable. We went at a quiet time which was good as me and my friend were catching up. We didn't order any food, just a small cake and coffee. A couple of things went wrong with the order, mainly that they forgot the cake! The coffee was nice and smooth. We would go again and perhaps try out the food next time.

One of the worst places we’ve been in Bristol. From the service to the food there was no one thing we’ve left happy about. We’ve spent more than £30 without eating. My partner didn’t even touch the food! I’ve worked in hospitality before so I know I to do a good customer service and the guy that came to us definitely had no clue of what it means. Definitely first and last time

We came in as a group of four for brunch and were met with a blonde plaited haired waitress who seemed annoyed to be at work on a Sunday. Luckily she wasn’t our server and instead we had a great guy called Toby who couldn’t do enough for us, when the kitchen messed up one of our orders he was very quick in making sure we got our replacement food quickly and made it very apparent he cared about our experience. Sadly the food was very overpriced and all the cutlery was dirty with chunks of food stuck to them, this means we wouldn’t go back but great feedback to Toby he did a brilliant job!

Used to really enjoy going to the Crafty Egg but the last 2 Saturdays in a row it has unexpectedly closed by 21:30 when opening hours have said it closes at midnight. Last week was a little quiet so thought it was a one off but this week there were full 5 tables of people having fun - we would have happily stayed until closing having drinks. Not only that, the staff would start putting chairs on tables and mopping the floor around you, making the last drink quite uncomfortable and felt very much hurried out. Such a shame :(

Very nice brunch. Tasty food. Kimchi mushrooms were a hit. I'm amazed at how long people are willing to stand in line to get service for this however. Is it worth the wait ? Probs yes. Worth 1 hour wait? No One loo for this small, popular and nice venue, while serving potent coffee, one toilet is a crime. People eating along a bench meer inches from a person pooping. I suppose if you waited 1 hour you aren't concerned with the situation, but I felt a bit gross when I emerged after destroying that toilet. The glances from the bench eaters was enough to make me want hold my head in either shame or hold it up in triumph. Lest to say it's nice but you may come out with co flirting opinions as I just did. Happy queuing.

Not that friendly any more, let alone dog friendly! Used to love it in here when franco was here but its gone majorly downhill! Went in by myself had dogs with me who were very well behaved and on short lead. B4 leaving went to use the toilet, which was filthy as other reviews have mentioned, and no toilet roll. But thankfully i carry some with me in case dogs do anything that a poo bag doesn't pick up. cleaned b4 using and then on coming out was appoached by staff member and told that i can't take dogs with me into toilet! I will never again go there, plenty of other places to choose from who have much better level and speed of customer service and better coffee. If slow and poor quality service continue i think lots of people will be choosing to go else where!

Was disappointed when the Crafty Egg stopped doing pizzas in the evenings as they were great. But was pleased to hear that they had started doing small plates in the evenings and was keen to try. Unfortunately after trying the small plates I was underwhelmed. Firstly they were out of flatbreads, so were being substituted by pita bread. This would be OK except we only received one pita bread which is not quite as substantial as a flatbread. At least it had been cut-up in an Apprentice-fasion to try and make it seem like more bread than it actually was... Also the; aubergine, roast potatoes and broccoli dishes came out just a few degrees warmer than room temperature. Personally, I find this kind of temperature a bit disconcerting in restaurant food. Mentioned the bread issue during the meal and afterwards but unfortunately the staff didn't seem to know what to do with the information. Hope they can sort it out.

It wasn’t too busy when we arrived for breakfast. Order was taken fairly quickly and we joked about paying the service charge before knowing what the service would be like. Three of our four drinks arrived after a few minutes, the 4th didn’t turn up. After about 45 minutes we managed to attract the waiter and ask where the smoothie was and where are breakfasts were. We got a refund on the smoothie as we no longer wanted it. The 4 meals turned up eventually and were all cold, the waiter offered to re-heat them but we had been waiting so long by then we didn’t want to risk having to wait any longer. So we ate them cold. I am sure they would have been lovely if they had been hot. So £70 for a long wait for 4 cold breakfasts and 3 coffees seemed pretty expensive to me. We won’t be back. Not sure any members of staff noticed but the people on the table next to us left as no one came to take their order.

I wasn't going to write a public review here as I thought I'd be respectful and instead message them privately, but they chose to reply to my email using ChatGPT. I thoroughly checked and verified this, and then messaged them about it, and they admitted to it. Clearly they didn't care enough about my visit to reply personally. They blamed its use on grammar and spelling, (which I struggle with too) however, when reversing the prompt to ChatGPT the reply was almost word for word identical, showing it was used for more than just a spell and grammar check. Anyway in a nutshell, we came here to celebrate a special occasion. The food took over an hour to come out, by which point it was cold, the staff were uninterested and unapologetic, but agreed to reheat it which then took an additional 20 mins. It was missing things listed on the menu, and the weirdest thing about the experience was we were prompted with a up-front service charge...which I felt was quite odd considering at that point we hadn’t really received any service. I understand how important these service charges are in hospitality, and I don’t begrudge paying them if I feel like I’ve received good service during my visit, but this was a very awkward and odd exchange. A real shame as we had ate at the Gloucester Road site earlier in the month and had a great experience, which was why I messaged them first before running to google, but their lack of interest to make it right has made me think twice about returning.

Went on a busy Sunday. Had to wait 10 minutes for a table which was fine. Afterwards things went downhill. Orders appeared to be getting mixed up as we were offered drinks on 2 occasions that were not ours. The vegan meal had already run out of an item by 1030. When our meals arrived my baked beans had already congealed and the meal was not warm. The pancake meal with bacon (2thin streaky rashers) was a disappointment. With the Crafty Egg asking over £13 for a small fry up they need to do better.

Very disappointing visit…. We came here after reading such great reviews. Upon arrival we were sat quickly with menus, however we were ignored/forgotten about once seated. We were left for over 20minutes before a server approached us and then asked if we wanted to pay service charge straight after finally ordering? The drinks then took ages to come and when the food arrived we were not happy. We had paid to swap our bread for a sourdough one, however we were given one piece (bear in mind it cost £1.50 to swap) which was burnt and bitter. Very expensive for a below subpar experience.

Really lovely pub that serves delicious Japanese food that's simple and tasty. Lots of beers & ales on tap for a very reasonable price. The pub has a very warm and comfortable atmosphere as if you're sat in someone's living room. Lots of parking available on the street especially in the evenings. It could do with a bit of a clean and spruce up in some areas it's en vogue with the shabby chic vibe. Shame they keep painting (very badly) over the graffiti in the toilets. I met a colleague staying at the hotel for a breakfast meeting. I experienced lovely self-service food and hot and cold drinks which were made even better by the friendly and calm atmosphere, warm reception and the excellent service from Arc.

I recently had a disappointing experience at the Dark Horse Hotel in Bristol. Contrary to its listing as a hotel, it's actually a pub with a few small rooms upstairs. Our room was situated right above pub tables, which made it quite noisy. Additionally, there was no network coverage in the room, and the Wi-Fi was not working. We booked through Trip.com, and this is the first time we've encountered such a poor experience with them. The room photos looked great online, but in reality, it was a very unsatisfactory stay for us. I would not recommend this place if you're expecting a typical hotel experience.

Really nice early Sunday morning coffee. Lady working was so joyful and welcoming.
