the building itself is lovely, with lots of unique features and exposed brickwork. The coffee was exactly what you would expect from a chain of coffee shops, so perfectly drinkable but i felt like all the staff were just clocking in for a shift rather than there being any actual smiles. perfectly acceptable but no real atmosphere

Came here just for a quick tea. They forgot to give us a spoon, staff were not that friendly either. Decor was uninspiring

I drove down to Stafford from Manchester to meet my mother, Nanna and nephews with my 20 month year old son. My nephews were trying to make the baby laugh by playing peek a boo, they were being pleasant and stayed at our table. One of the members of staff came up to me to say that they had a few complaints as some people didn’t like the baby making noise. I’m shocked and horrified at my experience at this cafe as the boys behaviour was fine, I’m a primary teacher and I am aware of how children should behave in public. It’s very sad that an older couple were offended at a baby laughing. My nephew was upset due to the staff members comment and he’s only 9 years old. I thought this cafe was suppose to be family and baby friendly but it’s not at all? Their clientele are tetchy and unpleasant. We won’t be visiting again with our family or recommend Coffee1 due to our bad experience. It’s a shame that the staff member couldn’t be considerate of all clientele at the cafe.

We visit here quite often as it’s dog friendly. The tables in the window have signs next to them saying that it’s an area for dogs but often people without them sit there leisurely reading their papers meaning that we have to sit elsewhere. We always try to find a table out of the way but still close to the dog area and the door. There’s one member of staff who moves us if she thinks we’re not in the right place but on other occasions when we’ve visited there are dogs (not service dogs) sat much further back and she doesn’t ask them to move. Our dog is very well behaved, doesn’t bark and just eats his biscuits and then lies down but she clearly has a problem with us and it’s now making us reluctant to use this coffee shop. Also on our last visit we waited 15 minutes to be served and the shop wasn’t any busier than usual.

Had a lovely visit, friendly staff, Peach Iced Tea was just right, my son's Flat white was beautifully presented. Lovely atmosphere and clean toilets. Definitely will go back.

Friendly and helpful staff. Great coffee and amazing flapjack. We drop in here often and the staff are welcoming and have worked hard during the lockdown

Called in for a light Saturday lunch. It did not disappoint myself and my elderly mother. Great atmosphere and extremely friendly staff with an excellent service. Great food and drinks. Wide range of products available to cater for all tastes. Would recommend a visit to all and definitely would return again here sometime when in Stafford.

The decor and style is great let’s be honest.The coffee menu brilliant and the atmosphere is niceButThe staff at the weekend when we visited were to be honest off putting, didn’t really know what they were doing, unwelcoming & not really great in the hospitality industry.There were three soups on the menu but when we came to order only one available plus it came out of a plastic pot that was bought in. In this case why bother buying the soup for them to re heat?The tea was extremely weak, the milk jugs that came with the tea were dirty and also the tray served to us were wet AND dirty! PlumIt just seems such a waste; to beautifully decorate this shop for it not to be followed up with good service, good quality products and clean environment!

Popped in today after a busy day at work with my friend hoping to grab the last wrap before closing, the male barista looked at me and rolled his eyes and shook his head! I hadn’t even got through the door! I know you were closing soon but this was rude! We all having busy days at work and just want to go home but don’t take it out on a paying customer!

Staff enjoying loud banter/jokes whilst taking and serving my order. Childish and unprofessional. My advice is save the jokes and boorish behaviour for when your not serving your customers. I ordered two cakes with drinks, both cakes placed on one plate with second plate underneath the first very lazy service indeed. It’s simple really, treat your customers with respect and in a professional manner and they will come back.

Myself, my friend and her baby come here often, as it's much more spacious than the usual chain coffee shops it's easier with the pushchair. The cakes are to die for and the staff have never been less than efficient and helpful. This for me is the best coffee shop in town.

A very tranquil half hour with a lovey cake and coffee. Staff attentive. Comfy chairs and relaxed atmosphere.

Great eclectic coffee shop, bijou and quite quirky inside much like The Lounges with mismatched chairs, comfy sofas, books and board games. Couple of vegan cakes choices clearly labelled, hot chocolate powder also suitable for vegans. The children’s Baby Choc is a good size too and only 90p. We had two vegan cakes; the Blackcurrant crumble tart and dark chocolate slice and the children shared a chocolate cheesecake style slice. Altogether came in at just over £15, the standard size drinks are approx. £2.90.

I often go in here for my coffee. Great to be able to meet up with friends and chat. Or relax and have a quiet coffee. Staff are always busy but always polite tables always cleared away and a bowl of water if you take you dog in

Lovely place for lunch. I recommend the mediterranean vegetable panini. No plastic waste and free water refills. Nicer than Costa or Starbucks.

Having been to Coffee 1 in Birmingham City Centre and receiving good coffee and cake with excellent customer service ...... with a smile too, we looked forward to the same in Stafford. Well the product is good, teacakes are great and so is the coffee but the service was a little under par. Won't stop us going back though

There are plenty of nice coffee houses and restaurants at Stafford, but we -travellers from the Mediterranean- really suffer as far as it concerns coffee. I ended up avoiding to order espresso, sometimes though we can not breathe without it and the result is drinking a nice small cup of brown soup :).

To me and my daughter nipped in coffee1 this afternoon .it looked a nice coffee shop there was two young lads working in there I asked one of the lads about the type of cake he had no idea at all so I gave him the order we had cake and tea so it was simple for him to do the next customer came I behind me was waiting to be served the young lad that was making my tea shouted over to his mate can you serve that man he reply’s no I’ve got gloves on not very personal i think both boys need more training in customer service .the customer needs to feel welcome .i can say I really enjoyed the cake and it was a great tea the cafe was a lovely stylish place . The espresso aspect of my cappuccino was ok. You guys have good grinders. The barista who did the milk for my coffee needs more training. The milk was overly foamy and it looks like you don't clean your jugs as often as you should. When she poured the coffee she should have bought the cremer to the surface but instead I got this horrible separation of milk and coffee. There was too much air put into the milk. It should be silky. When steaming the milk it's best that you create a vortex so it becomes silky and smooth. I recommend checking out some YouTube videos on proper milk texturing.

The customers service provided is very poor the staff choose to who they serve based on what I m not sure personally it’s an area that they can improve on

Came in on a cold day for hot chocolate and cake. Probably due to the generous helping of whipped cream and marshmallows the chocolate was luke warm. The cake however was good. The staff however whilst efficient were not friendly.

First let me say i enjoy everything about thus coffee shop. My only negative point is that there is never anything in the fridge first thing in the morning. By first thing i mean around 9 ish so many times has this lost my custom. Please get you food ordereing sorted.

Good to have a coffee shop that serves great coffee and is different to the well known coffee shops, their shops are unconvential with a mix of tables and chairs and not the normal corporate way. I was a regular Costa Coffee fan. Not any more.

I popped into Coffee #1 and was pleasantly surprised by all the dairy free/vegan desserts it is a good time to be lactose intolerant/vegan. It is so nice to be able to go out and eat because of places like Coffee #1. It hasn’t always been like this and believe me, I appreciate it. I had the super dark chocolate triangle and an almond milk hot chocolate, everything was absolutely divine!!!

i went here to meet my daughter in her lunch brake i sore thy were advertising soup so i asked for 1 but thy were just a add not very good ,so i just had a tea & cake ,think twice to go a 2nd time .

I visited here with my toddler, which food wise for her wasn't great. However I got drinks and food, and was very grateful that the person serving me offered to carry my hot drink over to the table as I had a pushchair. Not everywhere does this, and I don't expect it but it's nice when people do offer as can be a struggle depending how far away from counter you have to sit.

Yet another coffee shop I hear you say....... but a coffee shop with lovely character, tasty cakes, great coffee and good service. The low ceiling counter area opens out into a lovely vaulted airy space at the rear, so much nicer than other coffee shops that are available in the area !!!☕

I’ve popped in a few times to meet with friends as it’s very convenient due to its central location. Large and airy with a modern feel and contemporary miss matched seating. Nice selection of GF cakes with very helpful staff. Large A4 folder of potential allergens on request.

Coconut latte was nice. I think it was around £2.90. The interior is pleasantly furnished but cannot understand why the air con has to be on full whack? It wasn't even that hot outside and even if it was, it's a waste of energy.

Never been here before but had a caramel macchiato. Same as what I usually have from Starbucks and this one was so much better! Also have a breakfast burrito and would highly recommend it!

Looks like a nice enough coffee shop from outside but inside is just magical. The menu is very lengthy, including lovely kids drinks at just 90p which made them feel part of it. The cakes are lovely, with huge almond croissants being a personal favourite. If I'm ever in Stafford again I will be making an effort to come here.

Called on a wet bank holiday and couldn't have had warmer welcome. Great coffee and excellent range of cakes and pastries. (I've never seen such huge teacakes!) Really good and inexpensive range of drinks for children. Highly recommended. Wish I lived closer!

Popped in for a cuppa with a friend. The café was large and welcoming, and there were still a few tables free on a busy Saturday lunchtime. Service was a little slow but partly caused by customers not able to make up their mind and I did feel that a second member of staff could have taken my order because there seemed to be more than one till. My order of tea was served at the counter quickly, and I didn't have to wait long for my toast to be brought over. The tea took a long time to brew properly but eventually tasted good, and I managed to get two and a half cups from my pot. The toast was made from nice bread and served with adequate butter. Total cost of £3.90 was very reasonable. The atmosphere was pleasant (it looks a bit like a library) and the toilets were clean. Overall I'd be happy to visit again.

This welcome addition to Stafford makes great coffee. However as in Sutton the place is managed by children ( I like to see kids working ) but with zero leadership the service was atrocious. The lady in front of me was served none vegetarian food when clearly asking for vegetarian. My coffee took nearly ten minutes, its slap shot and hap hazard when it could be much easier. I think it must be the organisations business model to save cost but without direction it’s a disaster. Such a shame as it could be great and make an alternative to the other options in town. I’ll stick with Nero for now!

A welcome addition to Stafford High Street and a good reason not to wander always to C***a. Attentive staff (special mention to Jodie) and always quick to get served. It was a former Italian restaurant so you have a sense of space and comfort throughout. Lovely pastel de nada to go along with the coffee plus air conditioning in basking Britain ;)

I visited this quaint coffee shop today and I was not disappointed.

In theory nice to have an alternative to the other coffee chains, but a few attempted visits since its opening ranging from first week to even more recently have not endeared us to the place.

We were delighted when this chain opened having previously visited branches in other towns and have had a coffee there most weekday evenings and been very happy. However on 4/5 visits since Friday 9th June the store had had no skimmed milk. How can this be? Surely it is not too difficult to pop out and spend 89p on some in order to maintain customer satisfaction? There is plenty of competition in Stafford and Starbucks is reopening shortly just a few doors away. We spend around £6 each visit and this is business you have lost. What a shame something that started out so positively has become so disappointing.

Having visited several of the Devon Coffee#1 we had high expectations of the Stafford branch & we weren’t disappointed.
