I hadn't visited the coffee shop recently, mainly because my favourite cake - the cappuccino cake - had been taken off the menu!! However, there are a number of tasty alternatives to choose from, namely the very nice Cookies & Cream slice! This goes very nicely with the excellent cappuccino which I've always enjoyed here. It was good to be back, as it is a very nicely laid-out shop with plenty of room and with staff who know how to make a first class coffee!! Well done!

Biggest thing to compliment this place on is the customer service. I was very impressed with all members of staff serving on the 3 mornings I visited for a pastry and coffee breakfast whilst staying nearby. Friendly, efficient and I watched them acknowledge regulars by name. If I lived nearby this would definitely be my choice of place to go in Bicester. Coffee was very good. Had decaf flat whites, regular flat whites and a lovely piccolo coffee (slightly larger than a macchiato). Tasty range of pastries (I especially loved the raspberry croissant). Totally recommend you give it a try.

Ordered toast and drink, apparently they ran out of toast and instead of cancel the order or contact me through the app like other restaurants, they just assumed I want the drinks and no food. Now I can’t just order food from other places because i don’t have time to wait another delivery and without the drink I am not hitting the minimum threshold for the order. Also I still got charged the whole amount of food and drinks, instead of refund £12 of food like other places, they kept the order and offer 1 free drink in my next visit. Scammers. Useless response when I tried to call, this small thing really ruin businesses one customer at the time Coffee#1 get better and at least train your staff to know how to respond to a complain.

Having been here before during the week in work hours and the coffee was ok I decided to give it another go when visiting Bicester on a Saturday. The wait for an iced coffee and a tea was over 20 minutes with a queue out the door as they were massively understaffed. Having lived in London I am absolutely fine to wait in a queue for a popular place however the coffee was not good and no apologies were made. This could be a great coffee shop if they were adequately staffed - over 7 people queuing left because of the wait. Disappointing as I recommended the coffee shop to a friend also from London. I would recommend walking a little further and going to another coffee shop.

Visiting Bicester recently, I decided to give this place a try as I'd enjoyed the coffee at the Banbury branch a month or so ago. Although fairly busy, I couldn't complain with either coffee or cake; the coffee was satisfyingly strong and the cake was really fresh. For the price, it was well worth it and I would visit again if in the town.

A great venue to sit and catch up with friends over coffee and cake. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and welcoming with plenty of beverages and food to choose from. Dairy free and other preferences available. Also dog friendly. There is usually a small queue to be served but it is worth the wait :-)

Considering this is one of about 10 coffee shops in Bicester I would have thought the staff might make a bit of an effort. I was however, very wrong. The coffee here is rubbish and made by people who are more interested in gossiping and chatting between themselves that making the drinks / food. I took my drink back as was tepid and watery, I was then faced by a man (who I assume was the manager) barking at me 'what's wrong with it'. Never again

I have visited on several occasions over the last few months and staff have made me welcome every time with a friendly greeting I’m sure they smile behind their masks. They make you feel a valued customer. Tea and hot chocolate are amazing. Pastries are very fresh and tasty. Millionaire shortbread is to die for it melts in your mouth, flapjack is so moist and tasty as well. Love to visit here.

This is a family friendly coffee shop serving fantastic coffee and sweet treats. If sweat isn’t your thing then there is a selection of sandwiches for you to choose from. The staff are friendly. Dogs are welcome in this coffee shop. There are free dog treats available and a bowl of water is just a request away.

As a barista, I take massive pride in what I serve to the public, dialling in an espresso recipe that will work for the uneducated coffee drinker to the coffee connoisseur. Then to strive to produce latte art and an experience to the customer after that. This is not the experience I had today at Coffee #1. Laughable name. This place’s coffee was not cared about. At all. The “barista” didn’t really seem to know what a flat white is even supposed to be. It was uncared about plonked on a saucer, poured milk into the espresso on the counter and while I’m at it, he had a thermometer in the jug and it was hotter than hell! Use your fingers as a gauge for crying out loud! A good flat white should be served drinkable! I get that no-one in this town knows any better but for me to contemplate Costa afterwards (which I didn’t go to) shows how low the standards are here. I wasn’t planning on it being another 12 years before I came back but maybe if it was another 12 then there might be somewhere in Bicester doing it right. Maybe.

I love this cafe and they do the best hot chocolate. But I was disappointed to find that they are not keeping up with the hygiene standards during covid 19. Tables were not clean as we sat down so had to clean it ourselves.

I go to coffee no 1 every time in in town now! I have to say I can't fault it. Their staff are always super friendly and accommodating, their coffee is consistently delicious and their range of plant based milks and bakery goods are fantastic. I particularly recommend getting a mocha. They really don't go stingy in the chocolate (unlike Costa), and the flavour is a and perfectly balanced blend of rich cholate and deep coffee. Amazing every time! 😍

I usually loved to have a fast branch in 1 cafee, while meeting my friends in town , but this time I may say service was lackining basic skills, a lady in her 40 -50 was rude, I had impression that was her punishment to work there and I was not the only one having such an impression . There is a big competition in Bicester so I think so that was my last visit and that's a pity .

This is a lovely coffee shop whith a good range of snacks and drinks. My particular favourite is the white hot chocolate which is amazingly good. Staff is friendly, kind and always happy to help. The atmosphere is cosy and warm with books lining the back shelves and information abut bicesters history written on the walls alongside maps. Skylights make the back of the shop well lit whilst still appearing very homely. I would definatelly recomend it.

As promised to the staff today, I came in with my girl friend, she had the chicken wrap and I had a carrot and walnut cheesecake. Really good! I got myself an amazing chai latte and then followed by a fantastic vanilla latte which the staff kindly provided me a take away cup for as I couldn't leave it behind. Thanks for the friendly service and the lovely morning coffees for us both, we will most certainly see you guys again!

I wandered into here, partly because Costa has become so grubby and they are very slow to clear the tables. This is an independent shop with no loyalty gimmicks. The coffee is great, a really nice blend. `the price is good, the staff are friendly. It is also comfortable and clean. There is a very good cake selection and a real choice for gluten free.Won't be going back to Costa anytime soon.

Coffee was good enough and liked the strength of the flat white. My tuna melt was, to put it simply, poor! Advertised as a toasted panini style sandwich with a salad garnish, it certainly came toasted but barely so; bread was still colourless and as for the thinly spread tuna mayo, couldn't taste it. The cheese was still cold and almost insignificant but at least it was there, unlike the salad garnish, which was missing - my plate was insipid looking and a little garnish might have helped make it at least look decent. This is a new coffee shop and considering how lacklustre it was, might not be there for long as are so many coffee shops in town. Maybe it is so new, the staff aren't up to speed but if that's the case, train them better please and serve food to match the price.

Went in for a takeaway flat white this morning. The so called "Barista" didn't seem to know how to work the machine; "its making a strange noise" she said, when she tried to steam froth the milk!So she simply produced a very weak milky coffee, no sign of any any foam and so you can forget the squiggle.Worst, she was not prepared to start again, she just tried to bluff her way out of it by handing it over the counter and hoping I didn't notice.Coffee#1..... 2nd rate coffee and 2nd rate service, avoid.

We stopped here for a light lunch and was pleasantly surprised to see spinach dahl on the menu! It was delicious with a lovely warm naan bread on the side. I'd recommend getting the hot apple and cinnamon to go with it - a perfect wintery meal! The only thing that let's this place down a bit is the speed of service - not the employees fault at all, I think there is a lack of staff.

When this place first opened it was very good but it has since gone downhill a bit. The staff seem nice but the service is a bit slow and tables are not being cleared. My croissant was frozen in the middle on a previous visit and today the pastries were slightly burned. Some may not realise that Coffee#1 is a chain. The branch in Warwick is a lot better and so is the Pershore outlet. More staff needed and more attention to detail required if this place is to get up to scratch.

Opened a few months ago and thought we would give it a try. Interior is well laid out but I got the impression it was becoming a bit untidy ? tired already? Order taken at the counter, found a seat and waited approx 20 minutes??? .My daughter ordered the porridge and me a ciabatta with ham and cheese. We were just about to go and find out where our food was when my ciabatta arrived, no sauces offered, ciabatta and filling very dry with no flavour. My daughters porridge arrived, made with full fat milk and excessively runny, when the waiter returned we informed him and was very apologetic and offfered to make her some more but as we didn't have time to wait another 20 minutes we declined. A shame really as we were both looking forward to what we ordered and cannot understand why it took so long to cook and serve a bowl of porridge and a tasteless cheese and ham "roll" .

Now, I have visited coffee #1 a few times over a period of weeks, however today I had visited there twice as the first time I recieved an amazing hazel nut hot chocolate. So I went back for more but decided to stay in and eat cake with good company. The time it took to place the order and have a seat (not long, it wasn't busy, it was near closing time) we had built quiet the repore with the staff. Not only were they singing and having a good time and doing a great job, as previous comments said your acknowledged and valued as a returning customer. The staff there are amazing, lovely and a friendly lot that get involved in comstomers lives just with a general chinwag. One particular staff member, Jas who made the place feel like a home. Atomosphere was great, music was great. The place didn't look like costa it was more homie looked like a big dinning room in someone's home. Keep up the great work guys.

This encouraged me to go back for breakfast on the weekend, there was a huge difference to my first visit and it was clear that the staff need training. This is a newly opened coffee shop and restaurant in Bicester town centre. We loved the atmosphere. The good selection and pastries were nice but most importantly, the coffee and service was great. There are a number of branded coffee shops and local bakeries, so plenty of choice, but if you’re looking for something different then try this place.
