Absolutely shocking, the new management is horrendous, treats the staff and customers like dirt on there shoe and has no clue how to run a coffee shop! I’m a regular and the amount of new staff I’ve seen in the last few months is crazy! No wonder staff are dropping left right and center, I don’t blame them as I wouldn’t be able to work there either!

Not that great unfortunately. I hadn't been for a while and thought it would be good to see how things have developed. Sadly the flat white was average, and the almond croissant anaemic and bap-like, I remember them being so good, and should have gone with my gut when I saw they had been reduced to a ration like almond topping. The mocha was dull, then at the bottom it turned out half the powder hadn't been mixed in. Poor attention to detail, try somewhere else.

Lovely atmosphere, food was lovely and more for your money than going out to dinner. Cake, coffee and toastie for £10. Chirpy staff and efficient. Very busy as expected this time of year but I can see why it was so popular. Will definitely visit again.

Dropped in here for coffee and breakfast. The coffee was nice but a strong flavour. To eat we had yoghurt with fruit and granola. We had one blueberry and one banana and both were good. We finished with an almond croissant. This was huge and was filled with almond flavoured custard. It was not a croissant as we know and was a bit of a let down. The staff were friendly, efficient and clearly on the ball.

Unlike most other places in Monmouth, this little coffee shop is open and serving delicious coffee all day. I has hiking locally and came back each day for as large iced coffee. Tables outside, in the shade or a public bench close by in the sun. Staff really cherry. Well done.

Staff really fond of themselves, like they were actually doing something important when in fact they're working in a coffee shop, selling basic food and drink. More attention to the service and less attitude would be great here. Bottled drinks are nice as they're not prepared by the shop staff. Monmouth is full of other cafes, thankfully.

The coffee remans good here but today we had two very disappointing cakes - chocolate crunch and a caramel shortbread. Very mass produced and just not very nice - I’m sure they weren’t so poor before. Surely there’s enough margin on the coffee without them having to save money with cheap cake. Shame.

Delicious coffee, different varieties and teas. Very friendly and helpful staff. When we had coffee on a Wednesday morning customers were waiting for tables. It's lovely to see an independent giving the chain coffee shops a run for their money. We returned for a light lunch, very tasty wraps with vegetarian options.

Sadly this coffee#1 store was disappointing and resulted in us not wanting to return again. The coffee shop states 'dog friendly' but no clear signs on any particular areas inside were dogs are welcome. So, in line with most coffee shops we sat near the front. As I was ordering my partner was rudely spoken to by a member of staff telling us we were sat in the wrong place. A lack of manners and rude attitude made us choose to leave. She lacked any form of customer services and was very unwelcoming. But on a positive note we found a wonderful cafe further up the high St. There are lots of independent cafes in Monmouth so I would recommend stopping for a coffee somewhere else where the service is welcoming and pleasant and then you also support the independent coffee shops.

Went in last Thursday (24th) about 2pm. Nobody in front of us but we still couldn't get served. A lady and a young lad were out cleaning tables and a long haired young lady was behind the counter. These are chosen from the fridge and handed to the desk where they are toasted and plated with a side of salad. I asked for mine not to be toasted as I don't like warm tuna. They were happy to oblige. Also tried my first coffee in 20 years. I don't like and can't stand the smell of instant coffee but wanted to try a 'real' coffee so chose the Americano with a jug of milk.I was pleasantly surprised. Me and my children have used this coffee shop since it came to Monmouth. In all seasons; we've sat in the lovely, comfy chairs in the front window looking outside on school snow days, we've sat out the front, people watching passers by in the summer. We've spent time cosy and warm upstairs sitting on the lovely button back vintage sofas, wiling away the odd hour, myself with my fav coffee, the kids with a hot choc, a yummy cake chosen from a fab selection and a colouring sheet, (provided). We've always been made to feel welcom and have been never rushed away. The staff always endeavour to clear the queue quickly, and on times it is queuing to the door but I take that as an indication that it's a fab place to hang out. Monmouth is spoiled for choice for coffee shops but we always go back to coffee 1 and will continue to do so.

Another enjoyable visit to the Holland Arms. Usual friendly welcome and great service. We shared a duck starter from the specials board, amazing, especially the sauce. We then had lamb and steak as our mains. Both meats were delicious as were the accompanying vegetables. Good choice of wine (I enjoyed the Malbec). Couldn’t resist a bread and butter pudding for dessert - even though full. Look forward to our next visit - probably one of the Christmas meals now being advertised. Very reasonable bill.
