On a damp day on the way back to Craignure, we almost missed Coffee Pot. We took pot luck and managed to get the last remaining table. This is a hidden gem; good options for lunch or just coffee and cake, and it is very delicious. Service was very good and you felt the staff were genuinely pleased to see you. And parking is considerably less stressful than in Tobermory.

Was recommended to us by a Mull resident and it definitely was the best bakery we found there and also had the nicest staff (although almost everyone on Mull is super-nice!). We got different things each time we stopped - cake, scones, sandwiches, ice cream and sorbet. Everything was exceptionally good and, as I said, the people who work there are so cheerful and helpful. So glad we found it!

We popped into the Coffee Pot for coffee and cake at the weekend and were astounded at the large and diverse range of cakes and tray bakes, all of which were home-made by Laura. Everything looked delicious so it was difficult making our choices. Being gluten-intolerant I was delighted to have a number of options to choose from (there were a number of vegan options available too). In the end I opted for the gluten free chocolate and ginger slice, and my husband chose the coffee and walnut cake. Both were excellent. I would have preferred proper mugs/cups for the coffee as I am not a fan of disposables but appreciate that the cafe provides a popular takeaway service.

Wow the best cafe & tearooms ever. The menue choice is amazing and the cakes are fabulous. We dropped in just for take away coffee first time then just had to go back for coffee & cake. The chicken, ham & mushroom pie was a great hit with my husband. I had fruit Scone & jam. When we had finished, we sat out on seats under a canopy at the front of the cafe, I won't back in for scones, sausage roll & Tobermory Whisky & pineapple cake to take away. Outside there is also a cake box full of goodies, open 24/7 for when the shop is shut. Laura who runs the shop and makes the cakes is both friendly & helpful. So are the other members of her team.

We stopped by towards closing time for a drink and snack having been stranded in our broken-down car for most of the day near Killiechronan while waiting for rescue by the RAC. When we arrived we were very much in need of a drink and something to eat. The Coffee Pot offers quality, homemade baking, pies, sausage rolls, etc. Such a treat to be able to buy properly handmade delights! We had a sausage roll and a fruit scone - both excellent. Only disappointment was the quality of the coffee - it was weak and lacked body. That said though, we'd definitely return for the home produce and the ambience and would recommend a visit!

Do stop off at The Coffee Pot in Salen as it is well worth a visit, the cakes and scones are delicious, fresh baked baguettes and home made sausage rolls. Hot drinks and cold drinks are available too. There is also accommodation at Argyll House too where the Coffee Pot is situated. I stayed at the Pennyghael apartment. I received a warm welcome from Laura, the owner and Chloe. The apartment was great and very clean. Great care is taken in abiding by the COVID rules and masks are required to be worn entering the building, until you are in your room, and the use of the hand sanitiser is encouraged upon entering and leaving. Argyll House Salen is an excellent base to stay, very close to Loch Na Keal where the golden eagles and white tailed eagles can be seen majestically flying above Loch Na Keal. Not only is the food here fantastic, but the service is truly brilliant. Due to the pandemic, I have not been able to visit my parents who live on the island, and have therefore missed many special occasions that I would ordinarily have been there for. However, by way of treating my parents to some special treats from afar, I was able to order a Mother's Day Selection AND have it delivered. It included a variety of savoury and sweet goodies, all of which were thoroughly enjoyed! Then, more recently, I was able to order a similar delivery of edible delights for both Mum & Dad, for Easter. It is safe to say that they are now hooked! They tell me they have lately treated themselves, and the Soup with home-made bread buns, Filled Baguettes (chicken with salad), Sausage Rolls, Gluten-Free Brownies and Coffee they had were all delicious! It's also worth noting that everything was packaged perfectly, ready for take-away (due to the current restrictions) when they ordered for themselves, and included Cutlery, Salt & Pepper & Napkins. Everything they could possibly have needed!I cannot recommend this place highly enough and can't wait until I can visit when it's safe to do so! Thank you for being there.

Don't travel through Salen without stopping off and trying some of Laura's baking, you will want to keep going back for more..

We arrived at The Coffee Pot during Covid restrictions looking for a cake to surprise our son for his birthday. With next to no notice Laura offered to bake a cake that very afternoon which we collected on the way home from a family meal out. Our son declared it to be the best chocolate cake he had tasted! Exceptional and friendly service. We hope to visit again when fully open.

We boarded a CalMac Ferry in Oban, Scotland, for a ride to the Isle of Mull. After docking in Craignure, we headed, in our rental car, toward Tobermory, on the A849. The A849 is a dual carriageway road leading to Salen. We arrived in Salen at just about 12:00 PM, and stopped at the Coffee Pot for a cup of tea and coffee, and a delicious pastry. The dinning area is small, but cozy and warm. The owners do a great job serving their customers, (it appears to be a family enterprise.) After deciding on your food order, (sandwiches, soup, sweets), walk to the small counter and place your order. The server's will bring your selection to your table, when ready. There's a good selection of sandwiches, teas, coffees, and sweets. We found the experience enjoyable and delicious! And just saying ... it's a good place to stop for a bite to eat, (and de-stress a bit) before heading forward, on the single track road, into Tobermory, on the A848.This is a very small town, so there is plenty of on street parking, there is also parking around the side of the Coffee Pot. There is a picturesque Parish Church across the street from the cafe, with an interesting veteran's memorial. We stopped at this cafe more than once, during our driving and viewing the beautiful Isle of Mull.I highly recommend the Coffee Pot!

This is an absolute gem of a place near the centre of Mull. A great great cakes and a warm seat to make the most of a chilly October tour of the island.

We dined at the Coffee Pot while staying in the on site accommodation. It's central location on the east of the island makes it an ideal stopping point as you drive up or down.Everything is homemade and fresh; there's a fantastic selection of soup, sandwiches and amazing homemade cakes. All the staff are friendly and welcoming, and there's a chance to buy some of the owners fantastic photography taken from all around the island.I would recommend the Coffee Pot to anyone passing through. It's clean, comfortable and very accommodating; perfect for couples, families and anyone else passing by.Can't wait for our next visit to Mull when we can stop by again.

Called in for morning coffee on our way to North Mull and it was so good we called in again on our way back. The coffee was excellent, the hot chocolate excellent and the gluten free brownie wonderful. Definitely a place to visit and recommend. The two ladies in the coffee pot were very friendly and welcoming.

We stopped off here after touring round the north of Mull. Great coffee and great cakes but best of all, The photos on the wall. Spectacular shots taken by the owner who told us where to go to see the Eagles, and we wasn't disappointed. Spent a couple of hours watching a pair of Sea Eagles just up the road from the cafe. They also offer self catering accommodation, but I can't comment on that.

We have visited The Coffee Pot before and decided to get food to take out along the Loch as it was such a beautiful day. We had warm baguettes, mine was bacon, brie and cranberry sauce with salad, delicious warm and very tasty. Hubby chose the cheese and tomato chutney, again warm and he really enjoyed it. I had the carrot cake which was lovely and light with they yummy frosting I just adore. Hubby had the chocolate cake which he said was also very good. I thoroughly recommend dropping in if you are passing. Eat in or take out which is a great service. We sat along the Loch looking for Otters in glorious sunshine eating yummy food, what more can you ask!

After appalling service at Duck Bay we went here for lunch. Warmly welcomed. High chair for my grandson and the lovely waitress brought a bowl of water for the dog. Food was amazing and we were able to eat it indoors without being rained on because we had the dog (as happened at Duck Bay)! She also brought a treat for the dog. This place is fabulous and welcoming. Had a wonderful lunch and will definitely be back. 5 star service and food.

Seriously over rated & expensive. Stopped for a quick breakfast. Service was so slow that we'd finished a pot of tea by the time the food arrived. Ordered toast, avocado and poached eggs. Toast was cold, eggs cold and avocado had some sort of green sludge mixed through it with toasted oats and seeds on top. Not what was ordered. Not what was on the menu and I had specifically said I wanted something plain. Don't bother - it's not worth it!!
