Coffee evolution in Kirklees

We went for a quick lunch However after waiting 40.minutes we asked about our food order- which was a quick egg dish and they had completely forgot about it. I don't know how this can happen when you pay when you order and it goes through the till. I couldn't wait any longer as had to go back to work so left without eating. They did offer to refund my bill, but just noticed this was for food only. I think it would be fair to not charge for a drink for such inconvenience. I won't be returning

Busy, friendly and most important: REALLY good coffee. Informal to the point of being borderline tatty (but not sacrificing hygiene) Free newspapers to read.

Nice, fresh tuna and egg salad 🥗. Latte was tasty too.

This cafe has a very cosy ambience, the coffee is excellent and the salads are marvellous 😋 Highly recommended, you will never regret it.

First time I've been back in a few years, different staff, different cake selection, but still amazing service, a friendly atmosphere and properly good coffee.

Excellent coffee 99 percent of the time. Food is ok, bread sometimes way to thick, just abit more finess with the bread and ingrediants.

Undoubtedly the best coffee place in Huddersfield. Friendly staffs, atmosphere and the spot on coffee stood them out than everyone.

I had a fantastic club sandwich with a large mocca to wash it down with. Food was great and the drink was hot and very tasty. I go there more often now and only had just one slightly negative experience with a server that seemed to be on another planet. Plus, you can buy Bean Bros. coffee to take home. They will even grind the beans for you!

Definitely my favourite place to get coffee in Huddersfield town centre, great coffee and friendly staff.The only advice I’d give is to lower the level of the music a little bit downstairs and seats could be a bit comfier.

visited here twice on my 24 hour visit to see my son, the first visit was a flat white and slice of millionaires shortbread which had orange flavouring - soooo good 2nd visit was for brunch with a flat white, i had a toasted goats cheese and roasted veg sandwich - to die for and could have eaten it again and again

If you are looking for top notch coffee in Huddersfield town centre, look no further! The drinks are always great here and they have a very nice selection of food items on the menu as well tempting treats in the display case at the counter. A few times I've gone in "just for a flat white" and accidentally left with a yummy fresh baked cakey treat (mostly recently a lovely slice of Simnel Cake which I had never tried before). During the week they also have loaves of Roger's Bread (local wholesale artisan baker) for sale which is very handy, as they are delicious. Picked one up this morning along with my caffeine fix. :) The upstairs has a bright modern feel and downstairs is a more cosy spot with additional seating/tables. As for the location... commuters in Huddersfield are very lucky indeed. This cafe is just a short walk from the train station. Surely make the best place to start a morning trek into work! If you're lucky, your visit will be on a day when Sheena - the coffee house pup - is there... completely adorable and quite possibly one of the friendliest and well-behaved dogs I have ever met. Best coffee in Huddersfield. Food waits can be a bit long but it is only a small team or sometimes just one person so this doesn’t bother us, always visit if I’m ever in the town centre.

Popped here today for some breakfast whilst waiting for my train. My single shot soya flat white is one of the best I’ve had in a long time, perfect temperature and strength. The porridge I got to take away with me for my train was equally as good. Staff were really friendly and personable and the place is very atmospheric. There was a bit of a queue but they worked their way through it. Lovely little spot and one I would definitely recommend! Hope it continues to do so well. I would recommend they add matcha latte to their menu 🍵

The best coffee in Huddersfield, absolutely no contest!

I’ve been to this cafe a couple of times; it’s a great retreat away from the chain stores and the city. They make great coffee supplied by an independent brand, and the food is fresh homemade quality. There’s ample seating throughout; you can sit on the street or downstairs inside the cafe. If you want something cosy and unique, make sure you give them a try!

Without a shadow of doubt the best coffee in Huddersfield. Beans are of the utmost importance when in comes to great coffee. They source their own speciality beans and roast these locally. I have never had a bad cup from here. I also buy their beans for my espresso at home. They are very competitively priced. The café itself is light and airy. It's always clean and tidy with friendly staff on hand to cater to your caffeine related desires. The food is tasty and of great quality.

Terrific coffee shop in Huddersfield town centre with indoor seating at ground level and in the basement. The coffee shop has outside seating in a pedestrianised area. Great menu for panini, bagels, sandwiches, salads and cakes. I popped in for a lovely piece of fruit cake and a cappuccino.

Visited this place from reviews on here. Wasn't overly impressed with the cost of 1 tea, 1 coffee, 1 bacon on toast and avocado on toast.....£15.50!!!!!!! Not even a bacon sandwich, the bacon was on one piece of toast and had very little taste, same as the avocado on toast. Presentation was nice but portions are ridiculously small. If you are hungry I wouldn't recommend this place but it's location is nice. Depends what you are wanting, we wanted to eat and not still be hungry after it. If you just go for breakfast to have a chat and a coffee then you will probably like it, I think you pay for the quirkiness of the place rather than the food. Quite disappointing

My daughter's favourite coffee shop and pre Covid chill space which is downstairs. Coffee excellence, spoiled for choice syrups, and service to make it how you like it best. Still doing take out currently. Staff trained well and friendly. Now selling vintage trinkets also coffee wares. Try them. Never been disappointed.

The shop has great coffee and coffee house foods options. During lockdown 1 and 2 the benches outside, that are there anyway were nice to use. Great meeting place or hangout.

The thing is, back in like 2005 when I used to frequent this place, it was actually a very new and interesting idea. Nice to have a cigarillo at the counter with a coffee late at night (I think they used to shut at 10pm back then). It was a fresh idea, nowhere else was quite like it. It ripped the balls off Cafe Nero. I went in today for the first time in at least 10 years It's exactly the same! Where is the Evolution please? Even the layout and menu is more or less exactly the same. I think the last decoration was done back in 2007 or thereabouts when the owner decided to stain the counter in self-combusting linseed oil, which did exactly what it didn't say on the tin and set fire to the place..... Merrie England coffee shops are a blight on West Yorkshire and Huddersfield especially. However even this depressing chain were seen as amazingly modern establishments, the place to be seen, when they started in 1965 or whenever - look at them now. Even my Granny wouldn't be seen dead in one! Don't become another dead duck Huddersfield "institution" - evolve and change please!

A great coffee shop. Was missing a nice espresso brew during this lockdown and was chuffed this was my first one after! Coffeevolution made me my brew quickly and the place was clean and the staff were super friendly. A nice jem in the middle of Huddersfield. Being a picky eater (and drinker) my needs were most certainly satisfied.
