If you're going just for ice cream you will not be disappointed, it is good and although a bit pricey well worth it for the freshness and quality. However, if you are planning to visit the pub/restaurant I would give it a miss. Unfortunately for the third time we have been let down by the service and organisation of the restaurant staff. On this the third (and final) visit we were sat in a basically empty restaurant for 20 minutes before I had to shout to get our drinks order in. The waiter then had to come to the table three times to get the drinks order right. Then the food order was just as bad, having servers come to us with other tables orders and having two plates of food returned as they were not what we ordered, I had to get the menu out again to show them what they should have brought out. Some of this is forgiveable if they have a full restaurant and a queue outside and are running about after everyone but as my picture shows it was dead. This is the third time and there are no excuses for it to be as poor as it was. We will not return to the restaurant in future.

The breakfast menu has been cut to a minimum and you can’t chop and change - only add to your meal - so you will have to pay for the things you didn’t want. I asked about this and was flatly turned down. The flexibility, variety and depth that attracted us to Yummy Yorkshire years ago seems to have gone, and like so many places, profit through standardisation has become the focus. The food is good, but expensive. That said, most people could reproduce it at home fairly easily. The atmosphere is good inside, but I would warn about the external booths when it is cold. They are no fun, even with the heaters. If it’s cold and there is no room inside, you are better off not booking. Sorry to have to write this negative review - I once really enjoyed YY, but I didn’t this time I’m afraid. Big sad.

Simply the best ice cream around

Excellent ice creams with loads of choice

Not as good as last time. I'm not a big eater, but the portions are smaller, served on smaller plates. Seems a little overpriced for what I had. The food was all good quality, I think for what it cost the hash browns could have been homemade. The restaurant wasn't full but the food took a while to arrive,

A real local success! I remember going in here when it had about 3 tables in the early days and it was tiny, but now it is huge and has a restaurant as well as the ice cream. I couldn't give it 5 stars as it doesn't appear to have a gluten free cake offer, which is a shame, so just have to make do with ice cream instead!

We visited twice today, firstly for breakfast, which was really good quality, then we returned in the afternoon for ice-cream, again top quality, we would certainly recommend this place.

Good breakfast and worth a visit but expensive. I don’t think I’d rush back as full breakfast from Cafe 121 in Penistone is bigger, better and almost half the price. They should throw in the black pud for free or 50p at worst not !1.50 as I can get a loaf of bread for that. As as marketing tip - maybe give breakfast goers 20% voucher off ice cream to cross sell.

Only tried the ice cream counter but really need to find an excuse to go back and try the restaurant attached. Well stocked counter with a range of the usuals as well as some differing varieties. I had the Honey and Date. Delicious on a waffle cone. Friendly service. Will definitely go back.

A lovely little place but quite pricey. I chose salted caramel for my ice cream flavour and it was very average. I've been to Our Cow Molly in Dungworth (Sheffield) and their ice cream is miles better and cheaper. I don't think I'll be returning any time soon.

Food is good. Very busy! Which is good. Continues to be fabulous and probably could do with more room for meals (another expansion?!) and ice cream area is always packed on a sunny day. Good to have parking staff directing.

Always amazing food (usually have breakfast and the bacon is spot on!). Happened to get a take away this time and the staff (a young lady...sorry I didn't get her name) was really helpful and let me wait in the cafe while it was quiet first thing in the morning she was also really chatty and welcoming. Great choice of icecreams and cakes on offer. A little expensive for the cakes, but fair for the icecream.

Highly recommend if you are in the area. We stopped by for brunch, we booked a table outside and it was lovely. We all had different options of the menu. Portions are great and they also do a great coffee. Great selection of ice cream as well.

Came here today for a birthday meal, the Sunday lunch was delicious and the portions were really generous too. We were served by Sonya who was absolutely lovely and took care of us so well. We will definitely return, by far the best Sunday lunch we’ve had whilst eating out for a long time!

Visited on a busy Sunday after one of our party recommended it, but it was underwhelming, the Greek flatbread was so dry, just a little smear of hummus with cold chicken and really difficult to cut through, need tatziki to give it moisture, £15.95 for a small pie and small pot of veg, ruban burger was OK, one of us had an allergy to cucumber it was left in the pulled pork flatbread! Very slow service, no consistency with servers, orders were wrong, more desserts than guests came out and told to go outside and join the massive queue if we wanted different ice cream other than the standard strawberry, vanilla, salted caramel mint or chocolate. It felt as though we are busy so not bothered. I own 2 businesses one is a wedding event catering business and my staff are nicer and give better service than what we experienced. In no rush to go back.

Stopped by for some takeaway ice cream. We had raspberry ripple which was delicious - soft, tangy, sweet, so flavoursome. It was £4.99 for 500ml - so much cheaper than anything from a restaurant and so much nicer...

Only high seats available in restaurant, not suitable for me with a disability. Didn't look very busy. Called in after dentist, won't be going again.

Well myself and my family have been loyal customers for years, for small bites to eat and full on family meals, often purchasing ice-cream tubs to bring home. Today, 9th Feb 25, my family was asked to hurry up and leave as the restaurant was 'busy'. As I said we have been loyal customers but I doubt we will be back any time soon. Unbelievably rude.

We sat outside which was fine with the heater on. The soup was underwhelming… tomato tasting like a Heinz soup with extra sugar thrown in. Bread was nice.

Went here for breakfast. Seated very quickly as we made a pre-booking. Took our drink orders fairly promptly but didn't arrive until around 20mins later. Breakfast food quality was really good, it's just the service was slow and a little bit of a let down. I would return though.

Hide & Hoof Christmas meal. Just arrived home after an excellent meal. Salmon starter, cod main course and mince pie crumble to finish. Really enjoyed the meal as did my wife and our two friends. Well cooked, lovely staff and a good atmosphere. Thank you to all at the Hide & Hoof with compliments to the chef and kitchen staff.

Really nice warm cozy restaurant and ice cream parlour, ice cream was lovely and a really good menu for lunch/dinner with vegan and GF options.

We were a table of 6 having brunch, which seemed to take ages to come. We were a bit hurried as we were singing with Rock choir at 12:45. It's a beautiful/popular place with a good atmosphere

Food is lovely but can be hit and miss temperature wise. Ice cream and coffees yummy! Service also hit and miss. Really disappointing that they reserve the heated booths and don't let people use them until the guests arrive. Got a right old telling off from the ice cream lady for daring to sit at one that was dirty For the 30 mins we sat in the cold drinking our coffees noone came and used two of the reserved heated booths. Poor show. Other places I've visited put a reserved time on and ask customers just to ensure they vacate by the reserve time which seems a much friendlier customer focussed approach.

Use to go here a lot still fantastic would recommend to anyone. Staff ate lovely food too and nothing to much trouble.

Food very good. Very well cooked and presented. Service on the whole terrible. The waitress burnt 3 of us with boiling water serving our tea and no emotional intelligence or training to even apologise. Disingenuous verging on rude management / supervisors who need a personality transplant and a lesson in good customer service.

Food and service were good but it's quite expensive, hence why I've given 4 stars rather than 5.

Lovely environment, proffesional staff, good food

We came in for breakfast and the food was really good quality, very delicious! Staff however, not so much. The guy serving tables was very friendly and approachable, if we had him serving us then it would probably be a 5 star review. The girls are so rude and miserable it’s unbelievable. Our waitress (I do know her name but I won’t share) didn’t make any effort to make us feel welcome, didn’t smile, didn’t even look at us and literally threw our bill on the table without a word. She forgot to bring us water the first time we asked, fair enough, sometimes things slip our mind but a simple apology for forgetting would have been nice. There was another girl who came over to our table a couple of times, she was just as moody but maybe a bit more polite. I also wish they would teach the staff how to make drinks hot. All of our beverages were asked to be made extra hot not like warm.

Great place for food and drinks. The ice cream is always delicious with a wide range of different flavours on all the time. The food choices are great, differing from most places around with options for vegans too. Good selection of hot and cold drinks with beers on tap as well. Would highly recommend for both a group outing as well as for couples for a date night.

Arrived early afternoon last Friday, with my son and his girlfriend they had come to visit from Manchester, admittedly we hadn't booked and it was busy, but I have been many times before and usually managed to get seated, we entered and went to the greeting station inside and asked the lady if there were availability for 3 she said we are very busy but there is a booth outside free, we said perfect, and proceeded to follow her, has she picked up some menu's and led us out there has we was just going out the door a man approached her from the direction of the carpark and asked for a menu, she passed him one of the menu's she had in her hand for us, he then proceeded to go and sit in the booth she was showing us to, rather than speaking to him about this she turned to us and said " oh that booths gone now" we was all gob smacked and questioned this , her reply was " its first come first served" my son is the AGM for a very successful Manchester restaurant, he was in total disbelief on how we were treated, I was very disappointed after telling them for months what a wonderful place you have and looking forward to taking them, so just want to check if I do return again, should I just walk in and sit were I please?

Only went as it was school holidays and I needed somewhere to go with my grandson. Went for food first which was really good and then ice cream which we then ate outside as it was a nice day Fantastic flavours and not badly priced

Visited YY this weekend when I had a craving that only ice cream could satisfy! There’s always a queue in the ice cream parlour but it is dealt with very promptly and plus it’s well worth the wait. I love to see what new flavours they have and this weekend I chose a scoop of the cherry and white chocolate, which was absolutely delicious! Back soon to try the blueberry cheesecake ice cream.. and the Eton mess ice cream… and the marshmallow…

Visited today for their market, I was very underwhelmed by the market I thought it would be much bigger with more variation. It was a very cold and wet day so hard to sit outside although they do have a bar come barn. Ice cream is nice. Children’s play area could be better. I have disabled parking badge but was still shown into field parking, probably because they only have two disabled spaces which is such a shame.

Lovey place for adults and children. It has a small children's play area and seating for adults. It has a small restaurant. Worth a visit in the hot dry days. Indoor space good but limited for the capacity that visits sometimes. As when its hot the queues are long. Car park very big. They often open the barn for additional guests and a further barn for a market selling local produce. Visited again 1st Sept. Just had another lovely icecream

Went for ice cream which was excellent,good choice of flavours and reasonably priced. Worth a visit for all you ice cream fans out there.

Ice cream was a bit bland with hardly any taste. We brought our dog but we weren’t allowed in side as all the seats outside were full and it was raining.

Lovely place for ice cream. Plenty of parking in a lovely location. Indoor and outdoor seating for food at the restaurant. This was my first visit as I wanted to take my daughter somewhere for ice cream but I now intend on going back as a family for food very soon.

A very popular cafe / restaurant. Always worth booking. On a recent visit I had a sweet pancake stack...they were absolutely delicious. Very friendly staff too.

The area and restaurant itself is gorgeous, and 99% of the staff were wonderful. One individual who met us as we came in appeared a bit uppity and told us the only table they had was this little rickety one tucked away from everyone else outside. But someone, who I assume was the manager, came and corrected her and took us upstairs where there were ample free tables to sit. The food was delicious, and the rest of the staff were excellent (we had the bacon and sausage sarnies, you could clearly taste they were locally sourced and high in quality). The ice cream was superb (Daim bar and the lemon curd). Plenty of parking. Perfect for a couple or quick family stop off. Not much by the way of entertainment etc should you wish to stop for longer, though there is a small kids play area behind the ice cream stand outside.

Visited on a market day and ate in the cow shed. The food was lovely.

Great friendly service, food was really good, great atmosphere/feeling like everyone was enjoying there meal/drinks and ice cream. To top it off there is a great little craft,arts etc in an adjacent barn every other week and was told every week around Christmas all that was there on our visit we're fairly priced will deffinatley be back.

Nice ice cream good place to chill out

We took our grandkids here on a whim one afternoon, I haven't been for a while, and it has changed a lot. We each had an ice cream of various flavours, and they were yummy, not mind-blowing but worth the price. However, somewhere in my memory, I remember there used to be a lot more choice of flavours, I didn't struggle with choosing as there wasn't really anything that intrigued me to want to try. I remember having tried liquorice flavour here before and " maybe" brown bread. So I was a little disappointed with the innovation and chose what I would consider very run of the mill commercial flavours. The facilities were ok. They have a very small secure play area and plenty of outside seating. But after half hour it's time to go. They do have a restaurant which we haven't tried , but it looked very clean, very well laid out , and the toilets were lovely and clean. The outside seating had dog bowls of water for visiting pooches. It was an ok excursion, but the kids were bored after a very short time. The carpark is huge and they have an overflow carpark also , I don't think I would hurry back if honest, not for any other reason than it's for the kids it's very limited.

Great Food and a Lovely Market. I visited here on a cloudy Sunday afternoon for brunch at Hide & Hoof and found The Barn Market was open too. The Barn has a nice selection of local Yorkshire independent stores selling unique goods like stylish prints with Yorkshire slang and hand made jewellery. At Hide & Hoof Farm Restaurant, it was very busy on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant has a large capacity with both ground floor and upstairs eating areas but despite this it was very busy for Sunday lunch. I’d recommend booking a table ahead of schedule if possible. I had a group of 7 and was seated upstairs. The restaurant atmosphere is lovely as was the interior decor of the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and served me and my friends promptly after we decided what we wanted to eat. I ordered the 3 stack of American Pancakes with crispy chicken, chargrilled back bacon & maple syrup which costs £10.95 and I also ordered a Pot ‘a’ Tots (hash brown bites) from the special menu which costs £3.95. The food arrived within 40 minutes on a very busy Sunday. The crispy chicken was cooked beautifully and was paired well with the bacon and syrup, the tots were lovely, fried and cooked to perfection! Worth the wait. After brunch, I ordered ice-cream from The Udder Room. Downstairs in the restaurant the ice-cream counter was very busy and I was asked to visit the outdoor store instead. There is a nice selection of ice-cream available (see my photos). I ordered the double scoop of Biscoff & Raspberry Ripple in a cone which costs £4. The ice-cream wasn’t particularly special but topped off the lovely brunch. Overall, I had a lovely afternoon at Hide & Hoof Farm Restaurant. The service was good and the food was great. I would like to visit again and try different food at the restaurant. I think next time I would also give the ice-cream a miss.

First visit here since moving into the local area, and we were so impressed... The initial greeting was inviting and the waitress (Jess) was so kind, professional and informative about the menu, the amenities and future events which we enquired on. The food... well wow !!! thats all i feel I need to say, will definitely be back v soon. thank you to all the staff !!!

We had lovely afternoon at yummy Yorkshire. I really love the menu, I couldn't pick which dish I wanted as they all looked so good. In the end we opted lamb kofts these were amazing, the salad with the nuts was out of this world. Normally I am not a nut person but I ate all of of it!

Called in for coffee and cakes You had to go buy your cake separate from table service for the coffee Found this a strange set up ? We had Ice cream on the way out ...was not really to my taste but I'm sure was good
