Coffee Couture in Teignbridge

We visited after seeing a picture of their hot chocolate Easter egg spectacular and it did not disappoint! Staff were very friendly and brought our order quickly, lovely place to catch up with friends - and recover from enjoying a lot of chocolate!

Bank Holiday weekend and they only have one member of staff working! Poor lad was running around like a mad man to make sure everyone was seen to and very apologetic. Had nearly an hour wait for the two of us as the owner walked in and handed out probably two drinks before leaving again with a giant queue.

Nice and busy on my visit on a Friday morning. Very good proper coffee and v friendly staff. Lots of people sitting in for food. All looked good.

Went in on 13/3/24 . Yes, we were early, and yes, there was a group meeting going ahead, but myself and my colleague went in with smiles wanting to have a brief meeting before we had to run our own shop. Only to be stood waiting for 10 mins with no acknowledgement from either member of staff who walked past us both at the till point numerous times ....... Truly disappointed as being a local we try and support everyone , more customer service training may be needed........

Can't complain when you have half a cherry Bakewell on top of your cherry Bakewell cocktail! Always a good place for cocktails in Newton abbot. For wheelchair users there is a small steep raised doorway which is manageable, it's a step that has had concrete poured to create a death drop ramp but it's not an issue. Inside is spacious for wheelchair users and there are different types of tables to suit everyone - some with and without the table skirt.

Coffee was very good but only one serving that's why service was slow

We visited today, and it's a nice coffee shop. The young lady serving was on her own, for whatever reason. She managed drinks and food for approximately 20 people while we were in there. She kept calm and worked well under pressure and managed to serve everyone with a smile. This young lady, in my opinion, deserves a bonus a lot of people would not have carried on under the amount of pressure she was under. Well done to that young lady. I actually told her she had done well.

Only went in for coffee and hot chocolate, never had food, but other people did, and it looked and smelt lovely.

Nice little coffee shop during the day (does cocktails in the evening, but I can't review that). Coffee nice, not too pricey (use the reward system, folks!), and the staff are all super friendly. Some hot and cold food available too - toasties etc.

I just want to say a massive thank you to the blonde barista (sorry I didn’t get her name) who helped me and my 8 month old son Rudy after he grabbed my coffee and poured it all over us! We’re both fine! Fortunately I had been nursing the coffee for a while so it wasn’t hot! Thank you for putting me at ease. The coffee was really nice as well!!

I was so so impressed with Coffee Couture! I have had really good coffee from here before but decided to pop in for lunch today. The food tasted great, especially at such a good price! The surroundings are unique (in a good way) and the staff were very friendly. Will make this a regular place to visit in the future!

Only stopped for a quick cocktail before our booked meal somewhere else. Hadn't been in here for years and always looks empty when I pass. Decor is nice, staff were lovely and cocktails were good. 2 for £10 on Friday and Saturday evenings 5pm til 7pm. Think this could be advertised on the windows maybe? Incidentally, the windows need a good clean!! Nice experience, will return.

Went for hen do party ,from the moment we walked in the manager and staff were welcoming and friendly throughout the evening .they were extremely efficient, serving our cocktails with skill and flair ,, We also had a singer who was amazing The food was absolutely lovely ,presented nicely with lots of variety and plenty of it ,cold meets cheeses ,breads etc., Well done to the amazing staff fir and excellent evening.

There are plenty of choices for coffee stations in Newton Abbey where you can get ok coffee and this is one of them. The coffees were ok, the service the same as i can get anywhere else. Parking might be a problem and it will be metred parking so don't go thinking you can park on double yellow lines and get away with it. Loved the toilets but will have to keep looking around Newton Abbott to find the true coffee hideout where the hardcore coffee addicts go to

Very disappointing coffee after high hopes created by the name of the place Only rating the coffee here as I did not have anything else. Ordered an oat cappuccino for take away (oat milk +50p! cheap oatmilk, think it was Sainsburys's own brand) the 'barista' accidentally prepared a flat white which I was happy to have rather than it being poured down the sink. Instead it's been poured into a bigger cup, topped up with more oat milk and chocolate sprinkles. It tasted of... nothing. Surprisingly. Would have come back but at the point the way over heated oat milk had cooled enough to drink it, I was already too far away. There are good days and bad days, no doubt, but a place calling itself 'Coffee couture' should know you can't convert a flat white into a cappuccino, no, not even with chocolate sprinkles. Place looked appealing and tidy though. Certainly not back for coffee here.

Just popped in for a coffee on this occasion - I had a latte and my daughter had a white hot chocolate. Very nice - will pop back when next in town for a snack.

We thoroughly enjoyed our cocktails. Staff were friendly, attentive and capable and they even made me a superb white lady on request! Thank you and top marks to all concerned!

Popped in to meet my partner for coffee today. I ordered a cappuccino and a espressos Martini cocktail. Both were poor. Cappuccino tasted weak almost like he didn't put in any coffee and tepid.My partners cocktail tasted like no alcohol in it.Also no menu to order food, so I didn't bother ordering food. Member of staff was rushed off his feet as he was all on his own trying to juggle taking orders from tables and making drinks etc.So I decided not to bother him. I don't blame him, I blame the owner for not supplying enough staff to cope with everything. How can during coronavirus restrictions, one person be able to take orders, make drinks and prepare what food you supposedly sold, clean tables etc. That is slave labour. Coffee used to be amazing in this place, but it is slowly going down hill. I fully understand these are troublesome times, but if you don't look after the few customers you have now you'll find you won't have any left when this is all over. On the only plus side, my coffee was free as I had a full loyalty card

They wont serve coffee after 7pm. We had our 81 year old mother with us. We had two drivers. They said we could have 'a cold coffee' which turned out to be a cocktail. 6 drinks £50...what a rip off. We will not return. Who heard of a coffee shop not serving coffee.

Yes, this was our first post lockdown coffee out experience. The tables etc all socially distanced. We enjoyed our coffees and returned a week later on a warm day and enjoyed a refreshing colada cooler.

Decided to go for breakfast while in Newton Abbot and picked the wrong place. I understand when someone makes a mistake but for it to happen 5 times is just poor customer service. Firstly I could not find a menu and had to ask if they were doing food and the girl behind the till handed me what must have been the only menu in the place and this is not even one of the five things. When I came to order the girl behind the till didn’t even understand their own menu and got confused and overcharged us and had to call someone over to refund us. Then when the drinks were brought to our table I had to call the girl back as my glass had lipstick all over the top but I can see why when you have what must be an 8 year old washing up. Then my partner took a sip of what she thought would be the mocha she ordered but turned out to be a cappuccino. We didn’t want to complain again so said nothing about this mistake. My partner then got her food and I waited 5 minutes for mine but there was no sign of it so I had to go up to the till and ask where it was where a lady was quite abrupt and said “it’s on its way” making me feel I was in the wrong for asking but when the chap from the kitchen brought it to the table he apologised and said there had been a lack of communication so I was right that they had missed my order. As he walked away I realised that my order was missing the bacon that I had paid extra for so had to make yet another trip to counter to ask for my bacon. A few minutes later the chap was back from the kitchen with the bacon and said “we aren’t doing very well today are we”. Although they apologised a couple of times we both felt a real gesture would of been to offer a discount off our bill for the amount of cock ups that had happened to us but nothing was offered. I think it’s safe to say we will not be back or recommending this place.

No menu's available. Eggs on toast appalling. Service almost adequate. We revisited as it used to be quite a good place to have breakfast/brunch/lunch. Unfortunately, it was not to be.

Visited the reopened CC on our Christmas works do. Many tables reserved for others but the Manager was brilliant, we had a great time & terrific deals on scrumptious cocktails.

This place is always chilled and relaxing. Great coffee available and very friendly service from the staff. A little gem in Newton Abbot away from the bustle of the pedestrian area.

Just went into this place for Tea & Hot Chocolate, had we sat down first we would have left immediately as wooden table tops were dirty and sticky. This was bad enough but then the person serving gave our drinks to another couple one of whom messed about with the hot chocolate and when they realised was not their order they told the server who picked up the drinks and thought he was bringing them to us ??? I had other ideas and asked him to take it away and get fresh although this was the nail in the box and we left. There were only 3 tables occupied so very quiet and even then they could not get it right. Place was dirty, tired and worn. The staff were not much better. Avoid at all costs.

So pleased that they reopened a couple of months ago. Slightly bizarre and strange decor but it somehow works. I have only used it for coffee although it does seem to vary depending on who is making it. I think it used to be better, but still the best I have had in Newton Abbot. Would be good to see the ipads and daily paper back. .

I drop into coffee Couture on a regular basis not just for the amazing iced vanilla latte's but also for the fast and friendly staff. We won't use any other coffee shop in newton abbot now.

The perfect evening for my friends 30th birthday celebrations!!! After speaking with the very helpful manager earlier in the week the staff had set up a lovely corner for us with the decorations I had dropped in that morning and we had a wonderful time whilst there. The cocktail menu and offers are amazing, a great atmosphere and the staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble! Will definitley be visiting again

No table service, no drink expertise, no tab, limited food menu, no personality, increased prices - Shame as No return!

So happy to see Coffee Couture open again. Went in to celebrate my birthday with my mate for cocktails. The 2 for £10 on selected cocktails offer was on, which has a great choice to choose from. Staff were very friendly and helpful,and we chatted to owner who was really lovely. Would say if you want a cocktail in a nice relaxed atmosphere, this is the place to go. Worth checking out their menu as well. Hopefully Coffee Couture is here to stay.

Well there seems to be a never ending number of generic coffee shops on the high streets of Britain.....Coffee Couture is just another, adding nothing of value or interest or difference

A regular haunt of mine. Good coffee and cake. Friendly staff and busy with customers. Nice vibe to the place and tables spaced apart so you can relax with your book.

Loyalty card scheme, friendly staff, good service, dog friendly and most clients seem to have a smile and nod to each other making it a pleasant stop. Nice touch these days by having a couple of daily papers to read. Good hot coffee drink and a range of foods, basically I go for the tea cakes !

This place makes the best cocktails in Newton Abbot. There is always a good atmosphere and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The owners Gabby & Rob are what makes this place tick from morning for great coffee and breakfast till late nights with a Tapas and cocktails

It is not easy in Devon to find a cafe that stays open into the evening so when I needed to meet a friend after work in Newton Abbot it was the opening times that drew me into this place. Finding staff at the counter wasn't always as quick as you would hope for but then that also meant that we didn't feel rushed. We felt so relaxed here that we we decided to stay for food and both loved the baked Camembert. A nice relaxed cafe vibe perfect for an after work cuppa. The 4 star review is mainly for the opening hours.

We have visited a few times now in the afternoon and early evening. They serve a decent coffee, great fresh juices and make a tasty cocktail. They also offer a good selection of cakes. I’m always a bit disappointed at the lack of vegetarian options for lunch but the cakes do make up for this!

I can only rate the daytime portrayal of Coffee Couture, however I would only describe it as an overpriced coffee shop. We went in for brunch - our bacon sandwiches were ok and my coffee was nice. The only downfall really was the attitude of the girl serving us - I had asked for a Caramel Macchiato when she rudely stated “do you know what it is? It’s not like they are in Costa.” I wouldn’t have ordered something if I was totally unaware of what it was. I just thought it was completely disrespectful, especially towards a paying customer. I am definitely keen for going on an evening though, to try the cocktails!

Visited this place a couple of times now when down visiting friends, it’s a nice coffee shop/cocktail bar but the service is soooo slow. The first time you kind of think oh maybe it’s the staff on today but this is our third visit & the service is still slow if you order an alcoholic drink. I know cocktails take a bit of time but even so. There’s slow & there’s slow.

Love this place, the coffee is always consistently good, but recently had a cocktail which was lovely BUT and it's a big BUT... The taste and drinking experience was spoilt by the use of horrible paper straws!! They stuck to my lips, made the cocktail taste synthetic and went soggy quick! Should use wheat straws perhaps or titanium ones especially for these types of drinks. Yuk.

Had a bad experience with "Customer Service" when I asked to speak to a manager I was told I was speaking to one of the owners.

I come here when I work on Newton Abbot and love the atmosphere, spaciousness and friendly staff. So far I've only had tea and cake - the best gluten free brownie I've tasted! - I did try to have lunch once, but there wasn't any thing gluten free, which was a shame. Hope to come back to try the tapas one evening!

Decided to visit Coffee Couture to treat my wonderful mum to a latte a couple of weeks ago... we were not disappointed! Having entered the cosy atmosphere of this cafe, we were instantly greeted with a friendly 'hello' from one of the waitresses who was busy cleaning the tables and keeping things sparkly clean. After approaching the counter and deciding we would both have cake, my mum and I were spoilt for choice with the yummy variety of different treats to choose from! We sat down and our barrista brought our lattes and cakes over. Beautifully clean cups, plates and saucers along with the cutlery too (unlike some other coffee chains we have been to previously)

Came here just before Christmas for a classy meal with friends. This is the third time we have eaten here and once again we were not disappointed. Good menu and as always excellent cocktails.

We arrived for a Christmas night out to be told rudely that we had booked for the wrong number of people (we hadn't & had checked the booking on 3 occasions). We sat down & ordered cocktails then asked for the menu. We were told the tapas page was on the drinks menu & asked for the Christmas menu we wanted. We were told we couldn't have it as it had to be paid for in advance but were not paid aware of this at the time of booking. One of the party checked the booking in person 2 weeks before & was also not told this. The manager became aggressive in her style of communication very quickly & was not willing to make a compromise for us even though 2 of us are regular customers there. When we pointed out that we were the customers & deserved to be treated well her response was that she was the staff! Whilst deciding what to do she came over again & said that if we didn't order food there & then she was going to a bigger table who had walked in and we might not get any food! Considering there were only 3 groups in the place I would consider it pretty bad management if she hadn't taken account of walk in customers in her calculations for food that evening. All in all were were very disappointed with the "service" we received so went to Ricca's across the road which was excellent! Good customer service is the basis of any business & due to this none of us will be going there again which has lost them 2 regular customers. Disgusting!

Popped in for coffee and breakfast. Great rustic space. Window seat looking over out the street. Asked for coffees whilst we could enjoy and relax over perusing the menu and people watch. After a while and a wait were told coffee not served until paid for! So dutifully went to counter to reorder both coffee and food and paid up front as required. Dodgy area? Coffee arrived but then food all too quickly. Great coffee.Disappointing eggs beni. Poached eggs cooked in a old fashion poacher.

Had a excellent Latte,tea cake was very good,different from other tea cakes,could taste cinnamon.Asked for extra butter,that was not a problem,Cafe very clean,staff very friendly.Try it, you will love it.

Decent coffee shop - good for a drink and a snack. This review score should be a 3.5 really, but since you can't give half points I rounded up to 4.

2nd best near our holiday staying. It's just, that the Curator in Totnes is within the range of good coffee bars in Italy and that is hard to beat. But the Couture is very good too and if you don't know the Curator, all the better for you :-)

Struggling to find somewhere for breakfast with a difference. There are plenty of places that offer a traditional full English, but my tribe is more complicated than that. We all want something different.

When we're out and about we like to try out independent coffee shops rather than a well known chain. We came across this one in Newton Abbot so thought we would give it a go. Although technically a chain (they have a few in Devon) it's not what I would consider to qualify for that title. Pleasant surroundings and staff and someone who knows how to make a decent mocha. Can't be bad. Also tried the teacakes which came with 5 little pats of butter - rather than the usual two offered in many places. The coffee was great and I would recommend.

Down the bottom of Queen Street (not as far as the station though) but well worth finding. It does very nice coffee and the usual selection of croissants, flapjacks, sandwiches and biscuits. A nice, spacious place with relaxed feel. Very good for morning (or afternoon) coffee.

I have been there couple of times, it is quite nice place for a coffee and quite relaxing place as well. If I compare other coffee chains, it is quite clean which is very important for me. Definitely recommended!!!!

Have been coming here since it opened and can't believe I haven't left a review before! Visit here 3 plus times a week with friends and always a warm happy welcome when we arrive. The staff are all amazing, nothing is to much trouble. Lovely selection of cakes and various drink options! I'm now a huge fan of chai latte! Always spotlessly clean. Always good service even at busy times. Long may they remain..!!

I have been visiting Coffee Couture since they opened and am a huge fan of their delicious cocktails and great, friendly service. I am so glad Newton Abbot finally has a cocktail bar, and somewhere fun to hang out. The tapas style dishes are also good, especially the nachos.

My daughter and I sat down for a breakfast and a coffee and chose the waffles. She had plain waffles with maple syrup and I had the Americano - plain waffles with bacon and maple syrup. The waffles weren't very tasty and were extremely sweet (tasted like a pre-bought waffle/pancake mix) and the maple syrup WAS NOT maple syrup...........it may have had a maple flavour although I couldn't taste it but it certainly wasn't maple syrup as they'd advertised. I grew up in Canada and used to 'tap' the maple trees each year - I know what REAL maple syrup tastes like! Sorry, but we were both very disappointed and probably won't go back.
