Coffee Box in Hastings

Our favourite place to go, we go every Wednesday and I have been attending the coffee box since my son was born 5 years ago. We go so regularly we are recognised by staff 😀

Great place for a catch up with friends lovely coffee and cake

Good choice of food and drinks. The best thing is the amount of space, which is really handy for push chairs. Lovely outside space with play area for kids.

First impression building quite soulless, but the customer service is on point, and the outside is a nice area. Variety of food very good. We ordered a cheese and pickle Sandwich on white and a seeded brown brie and Cranberry sandwich. Every mouthful was deliciously fresh and flavoursome. The bread to filling ratio was perfect . The prices are very good and if you park in car park you get a discount on a hot drink.

Plenty of parking and it is reasonably priced. Be prepared with coins as there is no card or online payment option. The coffee box is beautiful and a perfect place for families as there is a massive play area in the back and the staff there are just pleasant. Food and drink prices are reasonable. Also, you can hire the place for private events!

Great efficent service and reasonable prices. Range of teas and coffees, cakes and savouries.

Bit like an airport lounge, decent outside area with a few things for kids. Clean inside and out and not bad prices with pleasant staff. You can park cheaply and get your fee back via a discount with the parking ticket.

First time I have visited here despite living in the area for 30 years! I don't think it's marketed well and I only discovered it by chance. Anyway good coffee and friendly staff. Lots of space and some outdoor seating and a children's play area.

Really nice coffee. Nice and airy with outside seating. Remember you have to pay for parking and then use the voucher for a rebate. Very old fashioned meters. Only accepts cash and neither cafe nor centre would give any change. Had to park in nearby road (free but no coffee!)

Sorry but when I was there most of the tables which seat eight only had one person sitting at them. So a huge space with no where to sit on my own.

Lovely coffee and food, big area and no crowded, the garden is lovely and big as well with outdoor sitting, including picninc tables; my children love the play boats and slide. 100% recommended.

Great coffee shop tucked away ....by the car park....however show your car park ticket and you'll get a discount !! Play ground for kids also at the side... And the cleanest loos !@!

Great playground and outside place. Lots of groups for kiddies. But it takes an absolute age to get anything from the café.

Nice sandwiches and hot chocolates however thay discriminate against people who have assistance dogs if thay can't provide paper work which is not acutely a leagle requirement.

Went over lunchtime, very busy understandably, when I was placing my order I asked if someone could clear our table as it had five trays piled high with crap. I was told they didn't have anyone who could clear it.... So I did it... We had a latte each, I don't mind strong coffee but this is on another level, we had to take it back to put some milk in it it to make it drinkable... Not nice drinkable... My opinion.. McDonald's would have been a better choice.

A good place to stop for a coffee minimal selection of sandwiches but plenty of cake to chose from . Plus if you use car park instead of Conquest charges are less plus receive a coffee voucher.

Lots of parking and up to £1.20 off your hot drink with your parking. Lovely cakes and sandwiches. Friendly staff. Very popular with mums and youngsters.

This cafe attached to the Kings centre is a pleasant place to meet friends. The coffee is good and the cakes even better! Service slightly slow but worth the wait! Sometimes a bit noisy with lots of young children if you coincide with one of the pre school classes in the centre.

Served inedible short bread, politely advised the server, got a rude response with no offer of replacement or refund. Normally good, just not today.

Not happy because I was completely ignored at counter three people were standing behind no eye contact from lady in flowered dress.so I walked out .

Roomy and nice break from the hot weather. Nice coffee and tea cakes at okay price served by friendly staff and discount for using the car park. Cost of car parking was very reasonable.

We went for lunch. Drinks came, fine, thirty minutes later I asked if they had forgotten our food and was told there are lots of orders . Fifty five minutes later my husband asked if the food was coming, they told him they had lost our order and they would do it right away, another ten minutes and our toastie arrived , that was sixty five minutes in all for one toastie. They gave us cards for free drinks, should have been a full refund!

Great coffee, large play area, very relaxing.

So got recommended to come here by a family member. Decided to come here on Friday. Ordered some food and then sat down. We waited over 45 minutes for 2 sandwiches and 2 toasties. When we asked why so long the lady said it's really busy. We should have been told there's a wait. We saw people that arrived after us get served their food before us also. When the food eventually arrived it was disgusting. The toasties were burnt and the bread for the sandwiches was stale. We did get given 2 free coffee stamp cards as an apology but it is unlikely we will be returning.

Went to the coffee box for lunch on Friday and was really disappointed. We had to wait 15 minutes for our drinks and a total of 45 minutes for our food. The place was far from busy and people who came in after us were served before us. My grandaughter was getting very impatient....mind you she is only 2 so I am not surprised. When I queried the amount of time the food was taking a member of staff went to check what was happening. She came back to tell me it was just being made. I presume the 2nd person that came out to us with the food was the manageress, She said that it was her fault as she didn't tell us the length of time it would take...the baby wouldn't eat hers as the bread smelt as if it had been stored too long and tasted awful. In fact all of the food tasted similar ...it was either very dry or stale. We were given 2 stamped cards as an apology. I will NOT be going there again.

This is a coffee shop more than a cafe; food is of the crisps and cake variety, with maybe a limited selection of soup or sandwiches. Price for coffee is straight down the middle. Staff are friendly and there's lots of seating. It's often busy, and there are often small children. There's a playpark outside.

Went to Hastings centre to give blood. Very clean and well organised. Parking was very reasonable and gave discount on a drink in the coffee box.

Went up here for daughters dance show and decided to treat ourselves to some cool drinks as it was my birthday. The place was heaving, but we managed to find a table outside. Drinks arrived within 5 minutes of ordering at the counter. Service with a smile too! Price was good, environment good, staff good. What's not to like?

Love having a coffee here. So much space. Quality beverages, friendly staff, quick service. Reasonably priced too.

Limited menu but very affordable. Food arrives timely and is presented well. Can get noisy with lots of small kids around. If you park there you get money off your hot drink.

Really enjoy the coffee box. Always have a friendly helpful experience and the coffee ain't half bad either. Sandwiches are always full and actually make you think you've had a sandwich that's filling. Nothing is too much trouble. Really look forward to going here 😁

A good place that is central on the ridge for a good coffee and a snack which are all homemade by the staff there (wished they had more vegan options though) They do homemade soups as well which always change dependant on the day just ask Car park is good as the price you pay can be taken off the cost of a hot drink as well Enjoy

This is a great place that serves good food that is prepared fresh for every customer and one doesn't have to wait too long for the food either The seating is perfect as there is a mixture for all peoples needs including lovely wooden benches and tables as well as more traditional tables and chairs and even other comfy style chairs as well The food is well priced and tasty (try the homemade coleslaw) and the coffee is very good with a great flavour - try a strong black coffee - ummm The staff are extremely friendly and very professional showing great customer service which one doesn't get everywhere nowadays If you park your car in their car park then you get £1:20 off a coffee with your ticket This is a Kings Church Centre but you can just drop in for a coffee or a bite to eat Do try it here as I feel that you won't be disappointed - Recommended Enjoy

Thought we would try this place out as heard a lot about it and had been to the nearby hospital. We nearly gave up trying to park but eventually found a place after driving around for over 20 mins. Think this was due to kids/mum event? Staff at bar friendly enough but had to wait over 10 mins for 2 coffees, even though very few other customers, and then another 15 mins for the sandwiches. Waiter far from friendly and no interest in engaging in conversation with us. No atmosphere at all and a bit like having coffee in an immense echoing sports hall. No flowers or table cloths on tables, no pictures, nothing! We now understand that this is part of a church and yet there was nothing to indicate that whatsoever which seems really odd and surely a missed opportunity? Would not go again.

My mother and I visited here for lunch today, we ordered two fresh sandwiches, whilst we waited for 30 MINUTES (with the servers saying it will be 5 more minutes, they're just doing it now- every 10mins) we then received a limp horribly presented sandwich with stale bread, 4 measly tortilla chips and a sad small pile of salad on the side. Disgusting. By then I'd already decided not to eat it and walked out after not seeing any of the servers preparing food and clearing dirty plates wash their hands the entire time we'd been there. Not to mention everyone who arrived after us received their food first. In a nutshell rude staff, overpriced food, not much selection- the fresh cake displays looked half empty and a horrid location if you don't like parents who can't control their misbehaving, screaming kids. Never again. (And we still had to pay despite not eating my meal)

I use the coffee shop about once a month on average and look forward to an opportunity to pop in, definitely after any hospital visit but also to meet friends with children for a catch up or informal business meetings. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and I love watching the younger members of staff growing in skill and confidence with each visit - keep up the good work!

Big spacious cafe, the food and drink is reasonably price and lots of yummy cakes on offer. Staff are always helpful and friendly. The car park ticket also gives vouchers for up to £1.20 off your hot drink which makes it even better value for money. Nice outside play area for the kids with lovely wooden boats for them to climb on.

The food at Coffee Box is very tasty and good value for money. They have a wide selection of sandwiches to suit all tastes and a children's menu. The ingredients are of good quality but the service is a little slow when they are busy. The staff are very courteous and the atmosphere is relaxing. The venue has many activities going on each day, so Coffee Box is a great place to meet up with friends before of afterwards. We hired a room for business purposes and organised some food in advance which worked out very well. Everything was on time and delicious.

Friendly Staff and good coffee here if you are either in the area or are using the centre for a conference or other meeting place as a group.Choice of sweet bites as well should you be tempted.Moments of seating for the bright and airy area so you won't be cramped or having to stand.

Went into coffee box with my sister to kill time before hospital appointment. We had fruit scone and what was supposed to be Latte! Scone was dry and crumbly , resembled Tesco Value , certainly not worthy of the price ! Coffee was bitter and not latte , sorry I speak as I find and this experience was TERRIBLE !

I go here at least once a week and it's always lovely, relaxed and the coffee is yummy and well served. I go with some mummy friends and there is plenty of room and loads of outside space for the sunnier days

Great place for young families to have a reasonably priced healthy lunch while children play happily in the fenced in garden. Adults can enjoy their meal outdoors while children run about in the large grassy area that has outdoor wooden boats for children to climb on.

Met up with friends here today with their children for lunch.Easy to find just off the main road opposite the local hospital, pay to park for 1hr (£1) and get 2 hours free plus £1 off your lunch too.A wide range on the menu, all food freshly cooked to order. Gluten and dairy free foods available here, any special requirements don't be afraid to ask.Free Wifi too, great play area for adventurous children. Lots of seating inside and out, great for picnics in the summer time! All in all we were very pleased with our food, great value for money too.Toilets spotlessly clean and baby changing facilities available.Would recommend a visit.

My Wednesday mornings would not be complete without a visit to The Coffee box at The Hastings Centre with my baby group! This is a delightful cafe conveniently located on The Ridge with excellent parking (FREE as you are allocated a voucher for your hot drink when you purchase your ticket), superb facilities including a wonderful adventure play area and most importantly quality, fresh food! The most delicious, home-baked cakes, scones and biscuits plus a full lunch menu, all reasonably priced with excellent, healthy choices for the kids! I have also visited the centre for many children's birthday parties and the facilities are second to none to host an event.....I have recently booked my own daughter's for this year and would highly recommend the professional service the staff offer!

I came across this place by chance. It's a little off the beaten track but very near the hospital. Wonderful coffee and cakes, a playground with amazing views across the countryside and lovely people. Recommended.

A spacious place to sit, play, drink coffee, and meet with friends. I have used this space with family, alone with friends, and for business purposes. The coffee is great and they offer a tasty selection of sandwiches and cakes. The outside play area is safe with some swings, a slide, some lovely wooden boats, and platforms/bridges. The parking is cheap and the staff are friendly too. A real find!

A beautiful location, free wifi, plenty of space for buggies and wheelchairs, friendly staff who love to sing and make customers happy.

I parked here for the conquest hospital as it is only £1.00 for up to 2 hours and only 50p for 1 hour. However when I got my ticket from the machine I also received a voucher for free parking if you use Coffee BoxAnyway I decided to have a cup of tea and a sandwich after a long appointment opposite I had a BLT on seeded bread which was served with a little salad and some Doritos. It was the best sandwich I have had in a long time and with the pot of tea which gave me two cups and was also excellent the total price with my pound back was only £3.50. What a bargainEven if you only come here for lunch and attempt visiting the hospital it is the best value in town. The seating is a mixture of tables and chairs, some sofas and benches. There is also plenty of space outside if the weather is fine with some cracking play space for the kids including some mock fishing boats for then to climb all over .All in all a great discovery which I can't wait to bring the Grandkids to. Try it !!!

The cafe here is located opposite the hospital on the Ridge in Hastings and serves an excellent cappuccino made with Illy coffee. It also prepares fresh sandwiches for a reasonable cost. It is clean, has a range of seating and a fantastic view. It also has a children's play area.Parking is plentiful, as the organisation behind the cafe provides paid parking aimed at hospital visitors.The cafe is that rare thing which offers parking right outside the venue - trying finding many of those in Hastings. In this respect Coffee Box needs to promote their validated parking system (i.e. its FREE up to 2 hours if you buy a coffee) with some signage in the car park rather than just on their website. It should be a place to go without a hospital visit attached. They also have a somewhat ambiguous Loyalty Card scheme. The T&Cs state "Buy any regular or large hot drink to claim one stamp on the card" but if you buy 2, 3 or 4 coffees for your party, you still only get one loyalty stamp. So if you do visit here, make sure each member of your party gets their own card and pays separately. Otherwise, an excellent place.

Have enjoyed lunch with friends several times, as well as taking the kids out for some quality time during the holidays. Younger ones can enjoy the amazing play equipment outside and the older ones will enjoy a good choice of eats from the menu. Everyone came away relaxed, for this friendly unhurried environment

Friendly staff, lots of space to sit on comfy sofas and chairs. Salted caramel and chocolate cake can't be beaten.Decent hot and cold drink menu + good range of lunchtime food available at reasonable prices. Took the kids up there during a dry February half term day and they loved being able to play on the equipment outside. Enjoyed being able to watch them playing through the window whilst I read the complimentary newspaper inside.
