Wouldn't cross the owners hand with my stool sample let alone my money. Simple as that

if anyone applies for a job here and already has a job then ask for a TRIAL shift first!!! my daughter was offered a 30hrs per week contract to be dismissed via text after her first shift. she has now been left jobless 😔 manager was fully aware she was in previous employment. why he didn't offer her a trial shift first is beyond me.

Came across the Coffee Box on a cold wet and windy day and warmed ourselves up with delicious soup and lovely smooth coffee. Great service, really nice atmosphere.

A fantastic little coffee shop in the heart of Brecon, a must visit if you are in the town or nearby. Prices are extremely reasonable, staff are attentive and the product is of high-quality. We were impressed by the prompt service of freshly made food. Just remembered to duck as you enter! Hope to return soon!

Met my friends this morning and we were going to have a "second round". We didn't bother cos the owner was visible and we know he doesn't like people doing that. When I have the choice, I never go there. The staff are very welcoming but the owner is far from that. He prefers tourists who are willing to pay touristy prices!

Popped in for coffee and a bite to eat. The coffee was so lovely I didn't need to add sugar. Nice variety of food available including vegetarian options. The cafe was clean and tidy as was the toilet.

Dropped by for a breakfast sandwich (4 of us) and some Grenola this morning & hot drinks. We didn’t know where to try as we were only passing through. Glad we stumbled on this place not far from the car park. The service was very good as was the food. We had the breakfast panini which was superb. Nice clean toilets. Spacious inside and quick service. Bonus for us was that we could take our 3 dogs in. Well done Coffee Box you are a credit.

A very beautifully decorated cafe, the baristas were very sweet and on god the best carrot cake and the best iced mocha I’ve EVER had!would definitely recommend and I will be back if I’m ever around again:)

They would not sell a slice of the blueberry cake I would have liked becouse there were a few cakes still on display, but was told this rather aggressively!

Noticed this off the high street and we wanted a quick start to the day - bacon sandwich and coffee - but didn't fancy one of the high street coffee chains. Very impressed - this would certainly be a regular stop for us if we were local, and if we return to Brecon we would certainly call in. Staff very efficient and pleasant, really nice environment, clean and well set out. Our coffee and sandwiches were delivered very promptly to the table, the sandwiches were really good, quality ingredients and well prepared. Coffee was also really good. Plenty of selection with regard to cakes etc. and only sorry I could not justify a cake to top off my breakfast!!! Very good value for money. Overall really impressed, a great find.

Nice environment and atmosphere. Good range of drinks. Tea was served in a teapot. Our choice of cakes was a bit disappointing; the coffee and walnut was very dry and the carrot cake was ok but tasted a bit sickly and shop-bought. We’ll try something else next time.

Lovely coffee shop. I had a bacon sandwich and a pot of tea. Thick bacon and lovely granary bread. Lovely friendly staff. Very clean and tidy. Dogs welcome.

Best coffee/cake experience I've had in at least a year! I had a white cocoa mocha which was extremely good, a lovely creamy taste with a perfect balance between coffee and chocolate, especially good considering it was made with skimmed milk. My brother and I shared two tray bake cakes - the yoghurt & blackberry flapjack was INSANELY good and the dark choc millionaire shortbread delicious too. A fair number of treat options are pretty unique, and SUCH a lovely change from the dull, homogeneous experience in so many other coffee shops. Prices for coffee and tray bakes are only slightly more than average (though huge slices of cake seem very good value), BUT SO worth it if you really want a PROPER treat rather than just a coffee to keep you going.

Favourite place to go for coffee. Been several times and tried a variety of options. Food is a tiny bit pricey, but it does taste good. Coffee is definitely top tier though.

Excellent place brilliant service. However you claim the the toilet is wheelchair friendly. There is no red cord for alerting staff. I feel like there are many improvements needed within the facility.

Excellent paninis, both the breakfast and lunch options are good. They make a very good oat latte and there is also a big selection of cakes. Even a vegan grilled cheese option. Very pleasant! Edit: Also dog friendly!

Lovely but bit on the pricey side

Awful espresso, so bitter and acrid and typical of poor quality beans and poor brewing. Hot chocolate no better than from a machine at the hospital - insipid. Cake over baked and dry as a chip . All in all, one of the worst places I have visited in many years - loads of others to choose from.

Terrible bitter coffee, cakes so dry they crumbled to bits when cut with a fork, Over priced and very poor quality.

The perfect place for enjoying a cup of coffee in the sunshine. Located on a quiet street parallel to the main road through Brecon.

Popped in for coffee, ordering a cappuccino, latte (both regular sizes) and two scones. Quite astonished when told by the member of staff that the cost was £16.60 as when the said items arrived, the scones were awful! Poorly baked to the point, when the jam was applied, they fell apart ! The coffees were nice but the quality of the scones needs to be addressed, especially when so overpriced. On the positive side, the young lady who served us was pleasant.

I rarely ever review, but I felt I had to for Coffee Box. The cafe is pretty, but the food/drink is genuinely some of the worst I’ve experienced. The children’s jacket potatoes were fine, but so so so hot, the paninis were very basic, and the £3.90 orange juice was fresh from a concentrate carton. Really not good, and massively over-priced for what it was. But on a positive note the coffee was well done, the beans were brewed well, and the cakes look tasty and decadent. Deffo a cake and coffee spot. There are heaps better places in Brecon for lunch.

A good local coffee shop with friendly and welcoming staff. Although it has a limited menu the quality is good and do wear expandable clothes if you try a slice of cake 😳

Hi just came off holiday on the way home we stopped off in Brecon and came across this very lovely restaurant just off the car park . this place is very good on food and drink . The staff are very friendly and helpful which we will call back next time. the food is the best that hade for a long time. There is a lot of food for your money , the bread is so fresh, The place is very clean when you are have finished they come around and clean the floor tables . You do not have to wait so long to have your food has well like some places we have been . If don't believe me just go there and see for your self. Thank you Valerie and Graham from Worcester

Would recommend and return. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Super tasty strong coffee, fluffy jacket potato cheese & beans, and hubs enjoyed his chicken pesto panini. Generous portions and reasonably priced

The staff are sooo friendly in this café, we went there for the 1st time a few weeks ago when we saw the sign that it was pet friendly (great cos we got a 14 wk old pup) great cafe for the basics, hot cuppa, panini or baked potato. Definitely will be back soon x

I'm a bit of a self confessed coffee connoisseur and honestly the coffee I had here was the best I've had in a long long time. Two nice and tasty panini/toastie meals as well and they were friendly to our dog Bea. Highly recommended.

Nice coffee shop in lovely Brecon. Good range of cakes - victoria sponge was delicious, blueberry sponge rather dry. Savoury snacks were very limited for vegetarian options but the lentil and vegetable soup was tasty. Staff were nice but an older gentleman (I assume, the manager) was rude and lacked the demanour for front of house. Impatient, not a smile, plonking food on the tables and tutting at customers. Soured the experience - a shame.

My mocha frappe was the most flavoursome frappe I have ever tasted (and I have had quite a few in recent years at various coffee shops, cafés and restaurants). It was full of mocha flavour and also had the perfect silky consistency. My mum and step-dad were satisfied with their coffees too, saying that they were nice and hot, rather than warm (as they have experienced in other coffee shops, well known ones included. I will definitely be coming here again, when I next visit Brecon.

Went to the coffee box brecon had to latte's and Victoria sponge the cake was lovely but the coffee was very bitter and tastless and not a big lover of dogs lying all over the floor sorry not for me!!!!!

Food was ok and place was clean. Very friendly ladies and table service but this was cancelled out by the unfriendly young man who barked at us when we went to go in at 8:30 through the open cafe door earlier that day, saying they weren’t open. Quite expensive coffees too, especially if you want oat milk which is extra 50p per cup even a macchiato, which has literally oat milk foam on it!

Sat outside Coffee Box just people watching in the sunshine enjoying the lovely old street and a fabulous flat white & lemon polenta cake. Great service. Lovely and clean. Drove back to Brecon Town the following week with a friend and did it all over...

Was looking for somewhere to eat that excepts dogs I was recommended this place by a local person. Friendly happy staff, good customer service. I ordered a hot chocolate and a jacket potato with tuna both very good. I could nt resist the cake so...

I have ashtrays wanted to try this place as I pad through brecon quiet often and always stop somewhere for a coffee, we decided to give coffee box a go. We walked in and logged around trying to figure out if it was take or counter service, there were 3 staff members behind the counter doing absolutely nothing and not one of them acknowledged us and we looked lost not knowing what to do. Finally figured out that you find a table then go back to order from the counter, pay, and they bring your items to the table. The whole system to me seems ridiculous seeing how many staff they had stood around doing absolutely naff all. The place seems to have a very bland feeling decore. The coffee and carrot cake were perfectly fine and not too bad value for money. As we sat at our table there were just endless amounts of staff just stood around doing nothing and not one of them seemed to have any sort of personality or enthusiasm for their job. Just a really disappointing experience and we wouldn't go back because of the lack of professionalism from the staff (which may not be their fault if the manager isn't allowing or encouring them to show any sort of personality)

Stopped for a cup of tea and some cake mid afternoon. The cakes were delicious and the tea just as nice. Good reasonable prices too for a large slice of cake.

Stale crisps, hair in food, but it was open unlike everywhere else. Not a place for a quiet coffee, acoustically very loud with no soft furnishing anywhere. Very clean everywhere.
