Codicote Spice in North Hertfordshire

On time delivery, although quoted nearly 90 minutes. Food tasty, although starters fairly cold. Will try again though.

Omfg! Words can not convey how happy we were with this meal. In the last 5yrs I have been looking for my favourite Indian restaurant/takeaway and finally I have found it, the food from here is so tasty. It arrived almost to the minute on time. The flavours were so fresh tasting, it wasn't oily leaving that greasy meh taste and feeling in your mouth, it wasn't overly spicy that overrides the beautiful flavours. The meat was beautifully tender in the sauces and the naan bread (normal and peshwari) were amazing light and tasty. Honestly I enjoyed it so much I would have it again tonight!! Massive thank you to the Codicote spice, you will be receiving orders from us again (soon if I get my way!!)

Always order from here - food is always delicious. Collected rather than had it delivered this time and the staff were so lovely.

Poor food, the meat was gristly and lukewarm, stringy like! Slightly concerned how old it was to be honest!! Rice is rice and sauce wasn’t hot!! Very poor

Food turned up 1 hour late. Chicken korma and chicken tikka was bland, cold and watery. We ordered for a birthday meal and everyone has left their food as can not eat it! Missing items from our meal also. Not up to standard at all!

I have been looking everywhere for a superb Indian restaurant in the Stevenage area, and at last have found one, Hurrah! - Codicote Spice is the one - it is outstanding. Beautifully cooked dishes with fresh ingredients and spices. Prompt, helpful and polite service. Thank you, Codicote Spice for a wonderful evening out.

Bottle of coke was forgotten so driver had to return to restaurant to retrieve. Food tasted bland and all the same in flavour strong tomato and acidy. Nann was too hard and was cold. Very disappointed as I order from Codicote spice regularly but todays food was of a a very poor standard.

Love the food from here normally but this time the containers were half full and both dishes had very little meat in. Was disappointed

Tiny kebabs tasteless curry soggy poppadoms far too much rice to bulk out the curry. Now we remember why we stopped using them.

The food was awful. Pappadams were soggy. Two pieces of lamb in the rogan josh. Prawn starter, cold and soggy. Chicken hard and unpleasant. I’ve only ever had excellent quality from this restaurant but this was absolutely disappointing. I hate spending good money on substandard food.

My friends and I went last night for the Wednesday special and the food was amazing. Every dish was great. Definitely recommend this restaurant, also takeaway.

Lovely food a really nice people

Poor. Tikka paneer was burnt and dry, no sauce. Ordered 6 poppadoms and no complimentary sauces were provided as would be expected. Very bland dry meal.

I’m appalled that they would charge someone over 40 pounds for a meal that would barely feed one person. 5 measley peices of chicken swimming in sauce, four chunks of potatoes in a whole portion of saag aloo, and the ‘vegetable curry’ was shameful, the largest vegetable was a few carrots the size of my nail floating around. It was more like baby food, I’m so disappointed it didn’t even taste very nice all of it tasted as though the chef slipped with the salt.

Had a phone call to confirm my order which was a nice change. The delivery driver was extremely nice and pleasant. The food itself was the hottest I have had from a takeaway and was wonderful to eat. Will 100% be ordering again.

The food was like a sugar candy. I ordered chicken. Masala and these guys sent me sugar chicken like literally For the first time I have tasted this bad chicken . And then I called them To confront them the staff was so rude and not even listening Never ever order Poor taste Poor Staff 🫡

The delivery man stood at the door not ringing door bell and man on phone was rude to the nurse I charge and that's not acceptable people with disabilities should be able to order and delivery people should be patient and understand ding.. Not rude very unhappy customer

I order from here regularly (have done for years) both eating in and taking away and have never had a bad experience. Food is quality and the wait staff are helpful, attentive and friendly. Garlic curry is a must try

All the cooked food was OVER COOKED and the lamb was tough and just awful - what a waste of my money!

I've ordered a few times in the past and always thoroughly enjoyed the food hence me coming back but this time the vindaloo curry had about 5 pieces of chicken and potato combined and the big tupperware tub it was in was full of sauce which was quite watery and lacked flavour . Rogan josh was delicious though.

Best Indian meal for miles. Highly recommend.

Very disappointed ordered paneer tikka for starter roughly £6 got 4 small cubes of cheese. Asked for very hot jalfrezi just come as standard also had a large bone in. Had to drain lots of oil from the curry (some oil is ok) this was full of oil. Have ordered from here before and has always been very good but unfortunately today it has been below average

Didn't arrive very warm. Prawns in biryani tiny and didn't seem fully cooked. Veg samosas very nice however

Didn’t deliver what I ordered and this wasn’t the first time this has happened. Did send correct curry out after I called but no rice or naan so I had cold rice and naan from the original delivery. Will be requesting a refund. Disappointing

This is by far the best curry in Hertfordshire and London. The service is impeccable and friendly. I am left feeling so satisfied every time I visit. I would highly recommend. The staff are great!

Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was excellent quality and I would highly recommend the chicken chilli sizzler.

Lovely, tasty & hot. Just a same you have to pay 20p for the plastic bag you wouldn't use again. Perhaps the restaurant should think about using paper recycling bags & not charging.

Thanks to all at Codicote Spice for a lovely evening, we held a tennis celebration at the back of the restaurant last night and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all of us. Fantastic curry! The pieces of chicken were melt in the mouth tender and all the dishes tasted amazing. Best curry I've had for years. Would definitely order again.

The meat and chicken were grisly and chewy, the cauliflower bahjis were more like aloo gobi and all was luke warm.

The food tasted great and given the distance to deliver it was surprisingly still very hot in temperature. The delivery man was happy and friendly. The only thing is the amount it cost seemed a bit pricey for the portion sizes. My husband was still hungry. Overall it was a great experience. Thank you

I refuse to believe that real people are leaving good reviews for this food. Everything was edible and warm but that's as nice as you can be. It was all utterly flavourless. No seasoning, no spices, overcooked meat, batter on the pakora was laughable, sauces were watered down. Don't waste your time

Wanted to try a different Indian to our usual…The guys taking the order and delivery time were perfect, unfortunately the food quality was disappointing. Both curries we have were watery and lacked flavour, samosa and naan were nice. Probably wont use them again and go back to our usual.

After using Codicote Spice for a few years,We were very disappointed in tonight’s meals there was no flavour or spice in the curries and they were also swimming in oil. I think the poppadoms had been cooked in used fat as well. I am sorry to say we won’t be using this restaurant again .

I have been living in Hertfordshire for 6 months now. I was new to the area and despite trying other Indian Restaurants in the area there is a special pull to Codicote Spice! Excellent food, excellent customer service, and excellent delivery! It's the whole experience that matters and Codicote Spice offer that and more. They deliver all over Hertfordshire and always with a smile on their faces. To add the cherry on top, there is always a cheeky deal going on. It's a no-brainer really!
