Codfather in Highland

I visited Max2 today and ordered Max2 special burger. When I get my food meet was well over cooked and dry tested like rubber when I complain they said it's fresh cooked and opened book and showed me ready cooked burgers in books a said we just heat up for order. Newer again. I was customer for years. You lost regular customer.

Order a black pudding supper. It was advertised as Stornoway black pudding. It most definitely wasn’t Stornoway black pudding I was given. It was over spiced, dry and artificial. Not impressed and false advertising. Chips were ok.

Ordered a lamb doner. Bread was dry, lamb didn't taste like it, it was all put like garbage in a box, with vomit (sauce) all over it. This place is a joke

We stopped by this little shop to get takeaway for a family of 6. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and helped us navigate some food allergies. The food was fresh and large portions. We had 3 of the large haddock dinners, fried sausage and chicken goujon. It was all prepared fresh and was still piping hot when we got back to our home.

Waited 3 hours and still not delivered. Wouldn't order again nor recommend to anyone. Phoned to check on delivery and was assured it was on the way. Bah

Disgraceful service. Staff tried to charge £20 for single meal as they thought I would be too drunk to notice (unlucky for them I was not drunk and noticed what they were doing). When confronting this issue was told to calm down (I was already extremely calm as I knew I had to be polite to try and get my money back). I will not be coming back and have warned all my other friends to not go here especially after a night out. Staff take advantage of those who have had a drink.

We are family of 6, just arrived at campsite so we thought brill a fish place so close how convenient. I ordered 2 fish suppers and 4 kids scampi suppers came to £60!!!!! Absolute rip off and to top it off the chips were bog standard frozen, fish by far not fresh we were truly disappointed, anyone visiting campsite, id recommend walking 3 mins down the path to the village where you can get cheaper FRESH fish & chips for a fraction of the cost.

Placed order online to pick up at specified time. Arrived on time to be told '5 minutes til chips ready@ - OK , no problem. Waited for over 20 minutes with walk in orders being produced before mine. Fish and chips average, curry sauce awful. Think I'll need to find a new chippy.

The cheese pizza was delicious,and the staff friendly. I will use this takeaway all the time for pizza., at £8 for a 14 inch pizza it cannot be beaten on value.

Fish was as rubbery as a Michelin tyre. Chips were foul. It was £2.30 for curry sauce....I mean Jesus Christ I ate a quarter and swiftly slid it in the bin. Never ever again.

Like other people went here for a wee treat. No instruction as to how to order, left to ask people queuing outside . 20/25 minute wait outside. I thought i had ordered a fish supper NOT a sardine supper !!!! Fish Batter hard,over cooked and yet luke warm ....chips absolutely pure s**t. My wife after trying her Red pudding supper said " I really don,t know what that was !" So both suppers went in the bin . Go if you dare....i,d say Go Elsewhere....."We,ll NOT be back "

Ordered kebab and chips for my wee one . Even the dog wasn’t keen !!!! So close and handy but never worth the price always have to cook afterwards!!!! It’s supposed to be a treat.

Pedí un chippy de aquí como regalo durante la pandemia.El pescado era horrible, la costilla no era comestible, las patatas fritas estaban frías y parecían ser como McCain Home Fries. . . todo parecía grasiento y tibio en el mejor de los casos.Evite, hay muchas mejores tiendas de chips en Inverness.

So looking forward to fresh fish and chips, what a disappointment. Takeaway was cold, fish was ok, chips awful, like rubber. . How can it be so difficult to produce tasty, fresh and hot fish and chips. Won't be back. Used to be so good too. Very sad.

Visited here last night to get a chippy for someone else as I myself would never again eat anything from here. My friends sausage, black pudding and chips were not only disgusting but poorly cooked and terrible quality. How can they get something so simple so wrong! Noticed that they charge a whopping £8:80 for a large donner kebab! How the hell can they justify that! Got to be the worst chippy in Scotland. Appalling.

DISGUSTIN! Dead rats outside the shop and pretty sure there was a rat tail in my sosig supper Would not recommend and advise to go to a different chipper as this one is just not worth it.

45 minute wait for 2 adult and 2 kids suppers. Cost £30. Quality of the food was poor and the portions small. Place was dead even on a Friday at 6pm so I suspect customers are going elsewhere. I won't be back!

Most fish in Scotland is fresh this is no exception if you are English try the haddock if not eat everything but tell them not to overload the chips. A portion of chips in Scotland would feed modst families for a week!

Our order of fish and chips were disgusting, chips looked half cooked didn't taste them as they were cold fish was dark brown in colour (burnt) but not crispy as if it had been lying for hours under the hot plate.took it back got our money back but no sorry no nothing as if it was our fault that it was a very very bad meal,in fact I would not have given it to my dog, if I had one,the staff were awful didn't have a clue how to deal with dissatisfied customer. I can not elaborate enough how disgusting this food is and I have never wanted to write a review about any bad food I've had in the past, this shop should be closed down its not fit to be serving food.

My wife and me regularly order a regular chicken kebab from Max 2 and to be honest Ive never had anything which could be described as anything but delicious and well cooked. Chicken kebab regular is only 4.50?, a bag of chips in Londons West End costs more!

Really hot and tasty. Also do children's portions which is great. Quite expensive but definitely worth it.

Pedí un take away de The Codfather a través de Just Eat. Esperé 2 horas para que fuera entregado, cuando finalmente llegó, corté mi kingrib y salí un líquido amarillo que supongo que era una mezcla sin cocer. Me quité la capa exterior viscosa de la masa para encontrar el kingrib cubierto en ella. Todo el take away era tibio y no comestible. Llamé para quejarme de que me dijeran que no hacen reembolsos, pero me complacería hacerme una nueva comida, no, gracias, en este momento no tengo apetito y ciertamente no confío en que me preparen otra vez comida. Nunca volverá

Burger and donner meat burnt couldn't be eaten. Chips were hard and burnt like they have been reheated Chicken nuggets were dry and tasted like fish Worse takeaway ever will never order again

Chips were disgusting and the after taste was horrible! What a waste of money as had to bin food as it was that bad! NEVER AGAIN!

Do not go near this place, the chips were black and rotten and the few few i dared to taste were dry and shrivelled. Avoid this place!!!

Takes ages for them to cook anything and even then the quality is not great the staff are more interested in the telly or talking than the customers would not recommend

Had once before and didn’t enjoy, but it’s local to family house when visiting. Smelt of old oil, and wasn’t confident, but to be fair it wasn’t too bad. Always find chips shops really expensive in Inverness.

Staying at nearby caravan site and needed a quick meal for the family. All food was cooked fresh to order and we did not have to wait long. Thoroughly enjoyed the battered smoked sausage supers and chips but the chicken fillet batter could have had a bit more seasoning. Overall it was good and we will use again if back in the area.

Waited one hour 45 mins for a take away after numerous of phone calls to useless staff it arrived half missing other half burnt sent it back and refused to pay for this what a joke

Me and my partner use this chippy a lot but recently it's been getting pretty poor. On one occasion last month took over an hour to get our order delivered!!! We only live in Smithton and then the other night got sausage covered in really hard batter as was last of them. Curry sauce in there also makes my stomach bad as soon as I have it but I have the one at college that tastes the same and I am fine.

I went into the chippy takeaway Codfather and collected my battered haddock supper. It was freshly cooked, tasty and melted in my mouth and only waited about 2 mins for it. Perfect!

Pedí un Doner Kebab y cuando llegué a casa encontré que tenía carne (sin sabor döner) ensalada y papas fritas? El pan de pita en el lado sin cortar y untasty. Salsa de chili no tenía kick. Nunca consideraría conseguir cualquier cosa de este establecimiento. ¡Nunca!

got a takeaway from here the other night had the party pack 2 large pizza,s chips there was loads coleslaw and bottle of juice great value for 20 pound do try it.

La chica que atiende el telefono es muy bonito, así es el hombre de la entrega, personal agradable y bastante buen servicio, pero lo principal es la comida que es una porquería, pero como ya he dicho hay una posibilidad de conseguir buena comida de allí, pero la oportunidad es bajo, muy bajo.

Went here at 10pm on Friday night. Wish we had just gone home for toast. Kebabs were not as any of us know it. In polystyrene box loaded with stale chips, lettuce, chicken bits and coleslaw swimming in mayonnaise. The pitta bread was unheated uncut and sweating on the top. Doner kebab similar with cold thick cut meat dumped on top. Pizza base positively raw in the middle. Most went in the bin. So dissapointed! Will never be back.

Had fish and chips with curry sauce it was delicious .My partner had the chicken kebab very good. We love fish and chips so we would highly recommend The staff were very friendly and helpful

I have ordered from here several times and love the food! The pizzas are really good and the kebabs are delicious highly recommend trying them!They have buy one get one deals on everyday which is great if you are feeding a lot of people. We ordered the party pack deal which is on at the weekend and is a great deal for the amount of food you get!

What can I say ordered as soon as they opened tiny portion of burnt chips the burger would of knocked you out it was so hard curry sauce oily as hell waste of money

My husband and I got into Inverness quite late and this was the only thing open. I ordered some garlic bread and he ordered the kebabs. The food was decent - nothing spectacular, but the amount you get for your money is crazy! We ended up with two dinners each!

I have never in all my life seen such disgusting food, it made me feel sick looking at it. I wouldn't even feed this to an animal, the manager should be mortified throwing that slip out to customers and the attitude was disgusting!! An hour to turn up as well! AVOID AT ALL COS, just filthy disgusting slop

See they have put prices up again. Really quite an expensive fish and chips here. Sadly waited almost 20 minutes for an order, far to slow. Really wasnt impressed with chips either, soggy, lots had skin left on. A lot went in the bin.

Have not eaten here and not sure if this is the Codfather on Rose Street but am sure it's the same company. I have an office across the road from this place, when it opened we all thought yea we must get some fish and chips for lunch, however, I can honestly say I would NEVER eat here. The girl behind the counter stands outside ALL day smoking, she seems to be very friendly with a group of homeless people who come and sit with her at the table and chairs, they are mostly, if not always really drunk which makes it really intimidating for passers by to venture in for a fish supper. I have seen on many occasions tourists wanting to go in but turning away as soon as they get to the door, not really a good impression.

Just ordered for deliver. Turned up in a plastic bag. Soggy burnt batter, fish was small and nothing really to it. Chips were soggy and chewy, sausage was burnt and soggy batter. Pizza along the same theme... Will not be ordering or using the codfather again. Beyond disappointed!!!

I order off of just eat and when I went to pick up my order the man said that the order needs done before 11pm on just eat it does not tell you that the last order as to be before 11pm he was very rode towards me so I will not be using the Milton of leys one again I know the boss and I am very disappointed with the staff

I got the CODfather special with some chips. I really enjoyed the pizza and the chips were pretty good to. I've been a few times and have had good experiences there.

Biting into the overcooked "scampi" and chips I found garlic mushrooms and chicken nuggets! Unbelievable! Disgusting it was too. We also got overcharged by £7.00. I have tried this place time and again in the hope it would get better. It hasn't ....it's worse. The quality of the food, the cooking of the food and the service is all diabolical.

Stopped by for some chips with gravy and they were delicious. Wish we had eaten them straight away rather than driving back to the hotel though. Prices are good and the chicken nuggets were great! They have weeknight specials two like buy one fish and chips get one free. Worth checking out. Cheaper than the hotel food and the fish looked very tasty.

Batter in fish very soggie, the service is shocking stood for over 20 mins waiting for one fish and chips they were two busy singing happy birthday in the back..only customer in the shop this was the one at keesock view...would not recommend and would not go back..I would not have even given them a star but had to.

Awful service from Cod father in Milton of Leys. Order an hour late and cold. Called and was told there was nothing they could do. Had to argue with them on the phone twice before I was offered any solution. Got a refund in the end after having to take food back to the shop. Rude staff! WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN!

I feel sorry for the friendly staff on the phone working there...order was 1hr30, and then the order was partly missing...part of a chain in the town...terrible food, if there was a zero rating this would be it.

ah what happened yo, this place had some good fish n chips, many a time i munched my heart out there, you must have new chefs or cooks now, coz this food aint no where near as good as it was a couple of weaks ago.

Have had from the one in milton of leys a number of times and have to say generally been good. Do think there prices are quite high. I have to say I have always had good fresh chips from here.

Collected our order then got home to find it was wrong (meat on a vegetarian pizza). Accused of phoning up and changing the order when I contacted them to tell them about it?? Eh no. Was rudely told it another one would be sent out. Two and a half hours later and no pizza despite several calls to chase it up (and very rude responses) I gave up on it. Appalling service, will never go back and hope the owner pays heed. Completely ruined our night - one of us has pizza by their self while the other ends up having toast 3 hours later. Top work.

The people who rate this place high must be easily pleased. All the kebabs I have ever bought have salad, veg, a chilli dipping sauce all wrapped in a fresh pitta bread. This is just a heap of horrible chicken in a box with dry pitta bread, and free chips apparently. Oh and you pay £7.50 for this for a large portion. The first time we used this place they totally screwed up the delivery, we waited over an hour to get our order and ended up being soggy and cold fish and chips. There won't be a third time that's for sure.

This is the third time I have used Codfather 2 in Milton of Leys. I only bought a portion of chips due to the poor quality of the food I was sold previously. Chips tasted stale and bland although they were freshly cooked. This is similar to previous experience. Previously tried the scampi and would echo a previous reviewer's comments - cheap and soggy. How can a chip shop get it's core product so wrong? The shop is never busy so I guess most locals have done what we've done, tried it, didn't like it, didn't go back.

Went in for a kebab tonight gotta say it was tasty been in a few times now chips are good doesn't disappoint very good chipper

I have been visiting the godfather on and off ever since it opened. At its start would not really rate the food. However the menu and quality has vastly improved over the years. It has a wide menu from fish & chips to pizzas and kebabs. The chips I believe are now some of the best around. The fish always well cooked. The burgers are fab and the kebabs are good. Had scampi once and that just looked like it had come from a frozen packet and extremely greasy. My kids tried the pizza and thought it also tasted like a frozen one. So basically I believe that if you keep to the staple fish and chips, burgers and kebabs you can't go wrong

Ordered on a sat night from part 2, reasonably aggressive service on the phone, then half cooked pizza, l attempted to call to complain but guess mine must of been one of the last orders of the night as no answer, guess it was rude of me to order 40 mins before closing or not be drunk and notice food wasn't cooked...never again

Thought I'd travel a bit to try this recently new fish and chip shop. I wish I hadn't bothered. I ordered a chicken kebab and was issued with a polystyrene box full of bits of chicken, lettuce, coleslaw and chips all drenched in the most putrid Chile sauce. To add insult to injury they had placed an unsliced pitta bread on top. I wondered if I should build the Kebab kit or just have a go at eating the inedible slop. I chose the latter for around three mouthfuls. Even my dog turned his nose up at it when I offered him a piece of the leftovers and he's a Labrador. Absolutely awful.

There are not many good chip shops in Inverness.The Codfather has 2 shops but the best one is in Milton of leys.The Fish was superb and proper Haddock and not block.Will be back.

We've had one great takeaway, since then very poor, no standard. Either soggy fish or badly cooked chips, how hard can it be!

Been a few times in the hope that there will be an improvement. There hasnt been! They are really bad in getting simple orders wrong, though in fairness they are very good in correcting but it happens too often and is most disappointing. The chips are usually terrible in that they are either cooked too often or not long enough and there is always loads of 'bits' instead of proper chips. The fish is always overcooked and the scampi soggy.

Possibly the worst chip shop takeaway meal I have ever eaten. Took a while to come as it was "cooked to order" but either it was cooked before and reheated several times or they just don't bother changing the oil but basically it was about 90% grease and tasted of really old stale oil. Didn't even give it to the dog.
